Playing Mass Effect for the first time and I'm talking to my crew members like ah yes good captains do have little chats with their team. Then pick all the nice dialogue options bc I don't want to be mean, but then the games like. Congrats. You flirted. U flirty flirty captain, you're right, this person WILL flirt back at you. Bc u flirted. Good job. Theyre into you now. Future dialogue will have them make little comments about being into you. So I'm staring wide eyed at the screen thinking I was going in to have a friendly friend good chat with my officer like HAHAHAHAHAH
fuck

Started Playing Mass Effect 1 a little while ago and...
Me (playing relatively blind): So I know there's romance in this game, but I doubt there's gay romance since it's from 2007, so who should I date. Garrius seems cool (did not know he was unromancable in this game), and Kaiden has some interesting backstory going for him.
Liara T'Soni: *exists*

Me: ✨WOMEN✨

I finally got the legendary edition so I’m replaying through Mass Effect for the first time in like five years and I forgot how goddamn horny the first one was. You got Benezia out here with just tits for days, Sha’ira is grinding up on me within 60 seconds of meeting me, I’m playing “dodge the lapdance” in Chora’s Den trying to find the NPC I came to talk to, you have to go out of your way to turn Liara down so she stops lusting after you, and even just regular secretary NPCs are dressed liked strippers. And Miranda’s not even here yet because doesn’t even show up until the second game! I guess I just forgot all this stuff because my closeted gay ass just ignored it the first time I played it +10 years ago.

No video game moment is ever gonna be as unintentionally funny to me as that image of Shepherd floating in space at the end of mass effect 1 playing, thinking to myself “shame all this was for nothing as apparently Shepherd just fell out of the airlock and died in space, dooming the galaxy”
And then starting up me2

Every time I play a game that’s a decade plus old I remember how short and direct games used to be. It’s so nice and refreshing that every mission is actually useful to the plot
