last year I had the pleasure to illustrate a mock book cover of the metamorphoses. I hope he would have liked it! This cover depicts several myths from the original book, including Apollo and Daphne, Narcissus, Dionysus transforming the sailors into dolphins, the daughters of Minyas, the Meneads, the Calydonian boar, and Icarus and Daedalus.

Ok so like half a year ago I made a little animatic of Apollo and Orpheus about Orpheus dying right. Im thinking about this line in the metamorphoses about Apollo protecting his head 😭 even if its Roman I still love it

"...here, as it lay at risk on foreign sands, that head (its locks still dripping with salt spray) was set upon by a ferocious snake; just as the serpent spread its jaws to strike, Phoebus at last appeared and drove it off, then turned the serpents open jaws to stone, just as they were—and will forever be."
