I suspect that Elias isn't actually falling out of the building. Hear me out.
If he's been thrown out a window from higher than like the fourth floor, the ONLY "good ending" possible is for the player characters to get him to a good place mentally before he dies, taking all the PCs with him. He only survives this if there's already something there to catch him OR if the thing in his pocket is like, a grappling hook.
So that's a bummer and it makes the campaign feel futile. I don't think it's happening.
I think Elias has been psychometered. Someone is making him BELIEVE he's been thrown out a window and is falling to his death. The broken control panel is the manifestation of the psychometer breaking into his brain. I'm not sure why they would do this but I have a couple ideas including torture, or D.A. Bition forcing Elias to volunteer as a guinea pig.
I do not believe that this season is gonna end with a depressed workaholic hitting the pavement. I think the PCs are gonna get control of the brain back where it belongs and Elias is gonna wake up in a test chamber somewhere, with a chance to live the life he really wants.

Is it possible Elias Hodge was under mind control?
We now know the company he works for has been researching/experimenting with mind control. He is a junior researcher recently out of college working for Gobstopper Industries.
(Side note: Does Gobstopper Industries actually make Gobstoppers? Gobstoppers are a hard candy made by Nestlé. Nestlé is one of the biggest companies in the world and has done some of the shadiest things in its history.
Im curious if he works at THAT Gobstopper. Cause that would mean making mind controlling candy, right?)
In Mentopolis, the DA and higher brain functions hide a lot of information from the rest of the citizens. I mean, heck, they are hiding the fact that Elias is about to die!
So heres my question/theory.
Could Elias have been unwittingly apart of the mind control testing. Having eaten some candy. And in the candy was something that made its way to the brain and now as full control of the council.
In Osmosis Jones the pill was able to go wherever he wanted in the body. Maybe its the same for the Mind Control agent.
Maybe Mind Control is trying to shut down the brain from reacting because it keeps an internal check on its hosts. Making sure it never deviates from Big Wig orders. Maybe it has a contingency in place to let the host die or kill it from within if something ever happened.
I bet its up to the PIs to find this mind control bug, kill it, and find a way to save Elias before he hits the ground. (Some people have survived falling from planes with no parachute. Maybe its a matter of going limp or something?)
Anyways, thats my theory. What do y'all think?

It’s the crux of the theory I just posted, but I feel I need to bring this to attention:
Logic is confirmed unaccounted for in Mentopolis. There’s clear evidence they are active and influential, so where are they, and who are they working with? Who are they pretending to be?

My guess:
the Mayor's Deputy Chief of Staff is Parr Lance, working for Mayor Logic.

stacy fakename (the REAL stacy fakename) is Flight. everyone uses it as a fakename but also, she's everywhere over the city. 4 hundred instances of stacy fakename throughout mentopolis?? if anyone can flit through the city that much it must be flight

just watched mentopolis ep 2 and I rlly want there to be a connection between
Don Avaricci (DA)
and District Attorney (DA)
given they’re on the same side when it comes to Conrad and it seems like a detail Brennan would include?
idk I just think it’d be fun

Glass shattered, a few stray shards lodging into soft uncalloused skin, and wisps of cold air brushed past Elias Hodge's face. A small muscle in his brow twitched.
Something was wrong, he could tell that much through the sluggish haze in his mind. A numb feeling trickled down the back of his head and glimpses of a door opening, hands on his shoulders, and raised voices danced on the lids of his eyes.
What was it? Where was he? What had he done? His curiosity took over and wrenched his eyes open.
He was falling, arms reaching forward for something to grasp onto, while Mr Henry stood above, watching him with a cold unfeeling smile.

Wild unsubstantiated theory: Elías isn’t falling from a window at all. The thing in his pocket is the psychometer, which is being used against him to convince his brain that he’s dying.
By working together with the fight instinct to grab the device, they can get Elías to turn it off, and that’ll be what saves his life.

So, watching adventuring party for latest Mentopolis episode. And they're talking about conspiracy theories and how people get caught up in them. And then go "but sometimes, there are conspiracies", and like... yeah. There are conspiracies in this world. The trick not to get caught in the pattern-theory-reward-feedback-loop is to remember a few things about humans:
Big conspiracies are very hard to keep secret. This doesn't mean big conspiracies are never attempted, but the more people are involved, the more points of failure there will be. Unless there's a very specific, very real reward for everyone involved, the likelihood is that there will be people who wind up exposing the secret. If your conspiracy theory relies on the idea that literally thousands of people are involved just to push a lie? You're probably trapped in the mental feedback loop.

Spoiler warning for Ep 3 of Mentopolis and the Phobias anthology
Anyone think the psychometer (in the way it was used against Elias by Gobstopper industries specifically) is basically a reinvented lobotomy? /j
Jokes aside, it does sort of remind me of the Phobias anthology. Not the phobias themselves and each characters backstories, but how the psychometer was originally a chair and how the prisoners of Dr. Wright had the fear juice (?? It’s been a while since I watched that movie) in a chair like that.
Does anyone remember what kind of industry Gobstopper industries is? I don’t remember if it’s just something for inventing things (just Elias’ department ofc) or if it’s something else?
Anyways, I wanted to make a rambling post about Elias Hodge because he’s so sad and that’s horribly relatable. So many adults in America and every other country are horribly overworked, given bullshit deadlines, expected to do the impossible (i.e. putting a safeguard into something so small and portable it can no longer be secure), and then they deal with burnout, depression, anxiety, repression, trauma, etc.. Not to mention the amount of people who are not credited for their work in the long term because of corporate companies not wanting to pay or promote them even though they work for more than their wage.
Share some theories if you’d like 😋🫶🏻

The Fix and Pasha flirting is truly just so wonderful. You couldn't make a better pair. Cause what is a better feeling than being passionate about what you are hyperfixating on?
Imagine they get together, and this pushes Elias to finally pursue what he actually is interested in?
Cause right now, his Fixation is focused on controlling his brain and following his ambitions. His Passion is regulated to a shitty desk job at thought control. Neither getting to persue what they actually love or are interested in.
The Fix keeps bringing up facts about reptiles and anatomy. Pasha seems to love birds or at least know a lot about them. Ronnie Reptile, of course, also loves repitles. (That's probably where The Fix got so many repitle facts.)
Elias is such a smart guy, and it's so obvious he'd be so happy if he were a Zoologist or something in that field. But no. He kept to his Ambitions and his Greed and used his smarts where its more profitable.
I really hope by the end of this season we see Elias leave his job and go on to work at a zoo or something. The Fix and Pasha adopting the orphans. Elias free to persue and fixate on passions. Whatever they may end up being. (He has so many little interests.)
Anyways. Gosh. I love The Fix and Pasha. What a great ship. Truly been blessed this day.

ALRIGHT GANG! BIG MENTOPOLIS POST EPISODE FOUR THEORY/TIMELINE
Conrad shuffles the paper to bring the Packet to Impelda’s attention. Imelda Pulse steals the packet that was supposed to be delivered to the boss’s desk EOD.
Elias has been revealed to be one that thinks ahead, so he’d know that with something this classified, any sign of him waivering, and he won’t be allowed out of the building.
He’s been taking copper supplements knowing the likelihood that if he makes a move to stop the psychometer research, he’ll be psychometered. As of right now, the psychometer functions as a mind reader, the research packet had information on how to make it a mind changer.
Either the higher ups get the info from the packet or from Elias’s mind directly. Elias must know this. It’s not confirmed he destroyed the packet but it’s my belief that he must’ve. If nothing else, hid it extremely well.
This is all happening in a matter of minutes. He steals the packet, destroys or hides it, and equips a grappling hook. Why? He’s not leaving this building alive, not before getting psychometered and maybe not after, the boss wouldn’t risk that loose string.
He meets the boss. The psychometer goes off. Two things happen at once.
Norrell Ogical is murdered by Logic, who is currently unaccounted for in Mentopolis, as the mayor is a fraud, but logics presence is clearly palpable throughout the city. Logic takes over the board to force Elias to jump out the window.
The psychometer goes off, destroys the keyhole and has entered Elias’s mind.
Regardless of how preplanned jumping out the window is, even if it was the only logical option left, it is a fundamentally illogical thing to do. Every instinct in the brain would be trying to stop you from doing it, and it only makes sense to logic, who plans to do it for Elias’s survival. Logic would have to get up to and take out some heavy hitters in order to take control of the panel in that moment. Hence, they’d have to kill Norrell Ogical.
Given that Freeze has been pretending to be Leon Logic for some extended period of time, that leaves the question of if Freeze usurped Logic (unlikely, freeze is not a man of action) or if Logic has gone more vigilante, taking care of what needs to be done under the guise of something else. The question is, what would that something else be? Is Elias only able to make Logical decisions under the guise of something else? Could Logic be working with Fawn, attempting to maintain a low profile at the company while bidding their time to put an end to the psychometer?
Conrad stated that Logic knew them, which is how they knew the Freeze was a fraud. But how long has Freeze been acting as logic? When did Conrad and logic meet, and what beef would they have? Because I don’t know if logic would blame Conrad for the ice skate accident. The Four Fs would, but logical would, I would hope, be more logical about it. And it doesn’t sound like Freeze has been in power since the ice skating incident, or else he’d know Conrad.
What really sells Logic working behind the scenes for me is the copper supplements. Obv Elias’s conscience is worried about the psychometer. That waivering faith is on his radar, no matter how small. Logically, if he were to change his mind, or even seem like he was unsure of the project, his bosses would have no reservations about using it on him. He knows this. He’s prepared for it. That, and bringing the grappling hook. It’s more of a snap decision, but proveabley NOT an impulsive one.
Oh one other thing. Logic is likely a key holder, likely even part of the Ogical family (heartbreaking). I bet a lot of the behind the scenes work has been at the board at olblongata station with Fawn. Fuck, is logical posing as someone we met? Fuckkkk if Wilton gets revealed as Logic I’m gonna bite someone.
This is my favorite type of story, I’m thriving rn.
TLDR: logic killed Norrell Ogical, it’s possible that Logic has been working undercover/vigilante for some time, we’ve yet to meet them. Freeze has been impersonating them as we know, possibly in cahoots (or too scared to say no hehe). Logic may also be working with Fawn, since it seems Elias will not allow Logic to rule his thoughts, but as Logic clearly still has a strong presence throughout the city, logic could be working with fawn to keep a low profile and bide Elias’s time as they work to end the psychometer project.

My current theory on the Dimension 20 Mentopolis season, post episode 4:
Spoilers under the cut!
So, we've now worked through 2 of the 4 responses. All that are left are Flight and Fawn.
How are they going to come into play saving Elias?
Let's consider Elias's situation.
He's fired the grappling hook (Fight)
Froze up so he could successfully kick through a window (Freeze)
And we know now that his next steps are getting the fuck out of there (Which, logically, would be Flight)
Therefore, we can all pretty reliably guess how Flight is going to come into play saving Elias: by getting him outta the damn building, duh!
Now, Fawn, on the other hand, is the one that isn't as clear. I have two theories, however!
The first, more fanfic-y trope theory:
The Barista That Smiled At Us.
Once he's out of the building (with further aid from Fight and Freeze), Elias needs to lay low quickly. Where can he go?
Maybe the coffee shop nearby he's gone to a million times? Where he knows there's a lovely Barista who's been kind to him and might hide him so he can escape?
And I can see Fawn helping in that situation!
Theory number two; the more likely option:
As they are escaping the building with Flight (Fight and Freeze assisting), Elias's boss confronts him before they can get out. And in that moment, Fawn could help Elias get in close, or buy a few moments for one of the other responses to make a move, and all of them work together to get Elias out.
And best part? It could be mirrored in the mind with the D.A./Scary Mind Key Guy in place of Elias's boss, which fits with the themes we've seen of the players echoing actions Elias takes, to show who he really is inside.
Bonus theory about the epilogue:
And then the epilogue is about Elias being a whistle-blower on Gobstopper Industries/The Military and maybe reconciling with his twin and finally having the courage to talk to The Barista That Smiled At Us.
And there will be echoes of that in his mind. Like The Fix reaching out to Pasha. Imelda and Anastasia reconciling as family and being closer. Whistle-blower Conrad and Hunch.
As for Mr. Fucks/Phucks/Fuxxx/etc. (Who I interpret as Elias's sense of pleasure in general, including libido, because he Fucks With Everything, not just sexual stuff. Tho it is mostly sexual stuff. Elias is really pent up, and, it turns out, potentially a passionate lover if given the chance.), Dan is just raking in the pleasure from all of this new-found joy in Elias's life. Sugah's is thriving. The people who have looked to him for hope that he's supported with a grin and a booming voice are able to enjoy life. And so is he.
And that's my Mentopolis theory!
I'm probably very, very wrong! :D

Okay so, I finally caught up on Mentopolis. And yeah what the fuck. But anyways I have a theory. It may be a stupid theory
But
Considering how every name in this season is a pun or has some sort of double meaning or importance
Y’all should know that “elias hodge” can be rearranged to “egos hailed”
egos could mean the self esteem, but I think it’s more likely referring to “the part of the mind that mediates between the conscious and unconscious mind, responsible for reality testing and a sense of personal identity”
And “hailed” meaning either signaled to stop or fall or be hurled forcefully
And I think it may be both
So. You know.
