From day one, months ago, ive gotten nothing but hate and pushback, and ive been met with mysterious unending blocks from random users after the initial altercation. my friendgroup has shattered over this. ive lost trust in dozens of people on FR because of this, and part of me still feels like im in the wrong for taking this to the police, even in the face of the actual law breaking thats occurred.

ive lost my comfort on tumblr as well ason  FR, because a popular user with a cult of personality an a penchant to flip flop on issues has decided neither i nor the people who agree with this stance deserve community.

it helps to hear it said that ive probably done something right.

It was difficult to find a fish that suits Mizuiro, so I just gave him a tail design that isn't based on a particular fish.

His land form is the same in the Merbon AU and is normally a Land Dweller that would return marine biidaron after buying them off of poachers (then getting said poachers arrested by Midoribon). When he becomes a merbon, I feel he would think becoming one would be an inconvenience, especially when his clothes are not waterproof, hard to look presentable underwater when your clothes are not waterproof (and the underwater fashion industry is nearly nonexistent), and he would only change into this form when it's necessary.

(Also Midori made that seashell "bowtie" for him.)

Midoribon is a Sergeant and Guard of the city he lives in, and is a self-proclaimed expert at setting traps (which would later come in handy in foiling Pinku's attempts in stealing Shiro so she couldn't marry him). The Sarge, while he has his heart in the right place for those he swears to protect and those he cares about, he's often "somewhat" reckless about it (if his scars are any indicator). With how he always seems to be nearby whenever Mizuiro appears, it's rumored the two have a secret relationship going on, but both will deny it and state they're just really close friends. After a bunch of shenanigans involving the Switch Pearl Kiiro found, he was given a smaller version of it Witchy made into a necklace so he can change forms at will (tho don't work him up in Merform, he will puff up until he calms down, which could take awhile).

Kiirobon the Plunderer is a pirate and Captain that, hence his namesake, plunders for treasures in hopes of earning himself a fortune, and calls himself the "greatest treasure hunter". He's a self-proclaimed comedian, and all his nautical and marine jokes might be why the crew only consists of him and his biidaron, Ponycorn. When he found Merbons Shiro and Aka in an abandoned submarine he fished up, he thought about selling them to earn a good amount of money, but he decided to have heart (after being offered a great treasure in return), and took them to Graybon's Marine Lab so they could be safe, they later become friends.

When out plundering an undersea cave one day, he stumbled upon a peculiar and rather large pastel pink pearl, with how valuable pearls are, he thought he would earn a fortune if he sold it. This pearl would soon save him from drowning from a cave-in by turning him into a Merbon. After a bunch of shenanigans ensue after he brought the pearl back to the lab to give to Witchy to assess, she splits the pearl (now determined as the Switch Pearl) into smaller pearls, and gives him one of smaller pearls as a necklace to keep so he can change forms at will.

About time I update my Merbon!AU, and with it being MerMay, I figured it'd be a good time to post about it again.
