If Takayuki & Hayate officially tie the knot, who do you think is most likely to take his partner's surname?
Hmmm this is quite a tough question for me. Logically if we're talking about the old-fashioned adoption system for same-sex couples in Japan, they would go with Mima's name because well, that makes more sense for adopting since he's the older one. He's also more financially stable, even if Hayate already joined workforce, the 7 years advantage of working a stable job would make Mima the more independent one, financially, and that's gonna smooth a lot of bureaucratic/administrative side of the process, i think, (name under housing lease etc). But then both of them are the only son of their families so their surnames end with them for their core family lol. Personally I'd want the Ichikura family to have another adult man lol but since Fumi isn't married yet while Mima's sister already changed her last name, I think Hayate would be a Mima instead, he's thoughtful like that and also would think that's the proper way. Mima would probably be chill eitherway lol.

main stories of pc-98 / touhou 1-5. basically what the wiki says but reworded since i cant understand some of it and i hate using wikis
please inform me if i got anything wrong!! since i used the wiki!!! and those are very incorrect sometimes!!!!!
touhou reiiden ~ highly responsive to prayers :
reimu hakurei is a shrine maiden. more specifically, she watches over the hakurei shrine. although she cannot harm her enemies directly, she wields a yin-yang orb that can deal damage. the shrine was wrecked by something idk
there is basically no story until stage 5, where you can follow the gate into hell or go to makai. she did destroy what wrecked her shrine. both have different enemies. depending on the ending, the yin-yang orb can turn into a fairy or something that destroys everything. for the bad ending, it turns into a black hole that destroys earth.
nearly none of the characters appear again except mima, who resides in the hokora near the hakurei shrine. a hokora is like a tiny shrine
touhou fuumaroku ~ the story of eastern wonderland :
reimu battles multiple creatures and machinery, some examples being the bakebake, shrine tank, and some cannons. she proceeds to run into rika, who tries to lure her into a trap. fortunately, both her and her flower tank were defeated. then, she finds meira, a samurai fixated on obtaining the power of hakurei (idk) for herself. reimu beats her and enters the world of fantasies, faces the five magic stones and defeats them.
after stage 3 it can be inferred that she entered reimaden, which is implied to be located inside the world of fantasies. mima or the final boss returns from hrtp, and she summons her apprentice marisa kirisame before either of the two can battle. (which fun fact marisa is red haired here!!!!) after defeating her, she faces mima herself. reimu explains the hakurei clans real power: the controlling of the yin-yang orbs. they feed off of the users power, and once fully loaded, can release lots of energy at once. mima was still defeated, and sealed back into the hokora despite all attempts to get it.
touhou yimejikuu ~ the phantasmagoria of dim dream :
yumemi and chiyuri create a space/time traveling ship called the probability space hypervessel and use it to travel to gensokyo so that yumemi can prove her theory
reimu wanders into the garden and realized theres a grand ruin near the hakurei shrine. mima and marisa reappear and mima explains it:
the ruins were accepting "visitors" and the people in charge would give gifts to them according to the pamphlet. there is a small notice that says only one person is allowed inside, and to figure out who should enter, they have a battle between rikako, kana anaberal, ellen and kotohime. whoever gets in first meets chiyuri and yumemi.
in order to prove her theory, yumemi wants to beat the player, take them to the real world, and perform experiments on her. if the player beats yumemi she can grant them a wish, as chiyuri's pamphlets had false information on them.
touhou gensoukyou ~ lotus land story :
first, they defeat orange, an ordinary youkai who was just flying around before arriving at a blood-filled lake. they then find a vampire named kurumi, who is the guardian of said lake, and they battle her twice. they find a chasm in an island at the center of the lake. which at the end of the passageway, there is a mansion called mugenkan. they find the gatekeeper elly, who explains that they are at the boundary of fantasy and reality.
she explains that the other character had defeated her already and entered the mansion. after defeating the
mansions housekeepers, they meet once again in a dark chamber in the center of the mansion. reimu accuses marisa of planning something nefarious, to which they both battle once again. whoever wins tells the other to leave before venturing farther into mugenkan. the remaining protag awakens a youkai, yuuka kazami, who despite her tiredness has very powerful attacks. yuuka panics and runs away after being defeated.
touhou kaikidan ~ mystic square
large amounts of youkai and demons are traveling from makai to gensokyo.
within the cave, whoever you chose as the player (reimu, marisa, mima, yuuka) finds the guardian of the gateway to makai, sara and defeats her easily before beginning a high-speed flight through the boundary between worlds. they find a demon travelling in the opposite direction named louise. the player arrives in makai, then soon being attacked by alice margatroid and her dolls.
after defeating her, the player flies toward a dark fortress in the distance, encountering themselves with the witches yuki and mai, who failed in attempting to stop the player from advancing forward.
entering the forest pandemonium, they fly through multiple crystal designs while battling even more enemies. at the top, they are greeted by shinki, who explains in a nice manner that the demon invasion is due to a civilian travel agency whomst arranged tours to gensokyo. before the player can figure this out or make any sense of it, they are interrupted by yumeko, who insists that she leave so she may battle them. after fighting the maid, shinki re-introduces herself. it turns out that she was in fact the god of makai, and alongside that, had created it.
re-stating what i said earlier: please tell me if i got anything wrong, missed any important details, etc.

* ◟ : 〔   sarah snook  ,  cis woman  +  she/her 〕  ESTHER VAN CORTLANDT ,  some say you’re a  THIRTY-NINE YEAR OLD lost soul among the neon lights.  known for being both UNFALTERING and HIGH-STRUNG,  one can’t help but think of  MISS AMERICA by DAVID BYRNE when you walk by. are you still a CONSIGLIERE   / DIRECTOR  at  BURNING GODS   /   NEW YORK BALLET COMPANY, even with your reputation as the SHARK? i think we’ll be seeing more of you and graceful steps down marble floors, power echoing through the click-clack of her heels; the sound of her office door closing three times, every time; a dusty bible hidden in the back of a broom closet. inside it, revelation 3:14-17, underlined and highlighted, “you say, ‘i am rich; i have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ but you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.”, although we can’t help but think of NINA SAYERS (black swan), MIMA KIRIGOE (perfect blue), LEDA CARUSO (the lost daughter) whenever we see you down these rainy streets.
Tumblr media
esther van cortlandt. a woman born suspended in a space between heaven and hell. the place you go to fester in the mistakes that rendered you a sinner in the first place, or to set yourself free. from the moment of conception, her reputation preceded her and her family as the heirs to some of the oldest money in new york city. crumbling railroads throughout the united states existed in their heyday under their control. while most of these tracks have long since been deemed unusable, the money made from these ventures had been enough to bring the world out of poverty twice over. this money exists today in the wallets of the last three living van cortlandts—abel, katerina, and esther. a father, an investor in oil, lithium, and silica. a mother, practically sold to the van cortlandts to benefit the reputation of her own family’s legacy. a daughter, bound to destroy it all one day.
the end always follows a beginning, an origin, a becoming. for esther, it started on the marley tile, in tears as she practiced her plies. by the time she could walk, her folks threw her into extra curriculars to see what would stick; gymnastics, piano, even chess. all of these bored the young girl. the only class that managed to hold her attention was ballet. as she grew older and the classes became more than daycare her parents could feel proud of, the more dedicated she became, all with the help of her mentor michèle. a tall, angular woman. so sharp she could draw blood. perfection was non-negotiable. this mentor acted more as a mother to esther than her actual mother had been, in the way that hamsters and rabbits eat their young. she saw a small seed of talent in her that she wanted to exploit or destroy—or, maybe, something in between the two. esther chooses not to think about it.
quicker than she had been able to register, her world began to revolve around dance. summer intensives, national competitions, the works. little room existed for her to revel in her youth when she had been preparing for her professional career from age eight. before high school, her time at home was spent either practicing technique or attending to schoolwork. all of her friends were forced to be just as cutthroat and anyone else who wasn’t didn’t interest her. by the time high school rolled around, she had been sent to a full-time ballet school in the heart of paris with michèle, where she further submerged herself into isolation for the sole purpose of perfection. and the closer she got, with every class, recital, show, and competition, the further she spiraled into this obsession. the thrill of winning was stronger than all of the abuse her body had to endure, and endure it did. through high school and university, everyday was the same. her body hurt with every step, her bones cracked and ached enough to stir her awake, but she didn’t listen—opting instead for dulling the pain with pills from her mentor’s medicine cabinet. she was sprinting for the finish line with the hope that it would free her, that it would act as proof of her discipline and commitment to excellence. what was her purpose, if not greatness? this question would stew and fester in her mind, michèle’s tack sharp tone narrating every thought.
this behavior does not come without consequence. unbeknownst to her, this suffering would soon become biblical. she stepped on stage as prima ballerina for the first and last time at the paris opera ballet, where she had spent the first four years of her professional career. instead of the freedom she had dreamt up for herself, almost all of her time outside of the ballet was spent acting as caretaker for the aging michèle, who continued to mentor esther through the decline of her health. only weeks before she was set to debut as prima, michèle arrived at the emergency room unconscious. time she would’ve spent practicing was used for hospice transfers and funeral pre-arrangements. wracked with worry, the time spent at rehearsals proved to be less than fruitful. the focus she had worked so long to develop quickly diminished into a fraction of what it had once been, while the pressure to succeed mounted as opening night inched closer and  closer. the day it arrived, she relied on pure instinct until the very moment it failed her, one moment that lasted seconds would impact her for a lifetime. the doctors said something about slipped and fractured discs, untreated muscle tears, and a litany of vitamin deficiencies. everything that would cut this career she had wasted her youth developing short. michéle, just like her dreams of a legacy detached from the van cortlandt name, died as she recovered from from her injuries in a hospital.
not soon afterward, she moved back to manhattan to live in an apartment on her family’s dime. after healing from the worst of her injuries, her work shifted to teaching, simply because it was what had been expected of her. she trained dancers for dozens of performances but all of them blended together as she imagined herself on the stage. it was at one of these performances where she had met the man who would one day become her husband. strong, powerful, and secure—a day trader with a glint mischief in his eye. she didn’t learn about his position as the consigliere of the burning gods until they tied the knot. her allegiance with the gang was originally formed out of obligation. esther would come to realize that her husband was a bad man, a violent man, one who harmed indiscriminately and punished draconically. what bothered her the most, however, was his carelessness. his inability to tie loose ends. her concern with his behavior only heightened when she fell pregnant with their first child, a beautiful baby boy. she couldn’t bear the thought of having to watch her son grow up from the confines of a prison cell, rendered destitute with their name dragged through the mud.
while esther was seven months pregnant, whispers became plans, and those plans fell into action—her husband went “missing”. friends and family sent condolences while she mingled with her husbands colleagues at the burning gods, that little spark of dedication that she once felt with dancing firing again with a passion for leading and being at the helm of an organization with such notoriety. during the first few months of his disappearance, she was something of an interim consigliere. as time passed and hope of finding him dwindled, this position became more permanent. proving herself was something she had been doing all her life, and she was prepared to continue. it was all she knew how to do.

heyyy. hi. HEY. i promised @nebulaaaaaa that i would give her more space facts, so thats what im doin. note that im not a scientist (yet!). im just hella autistic. so, i might get a few things wrong. feel free to correct me if so! anyway, get ready to be infodumped into heckin oblivion. (also: yes @magixta i see your ask. ill write sonething else later bc i was already almost finished with this one).
In the last post about the moon Enceladus, I mentioned how the larger moon Dione perturbed the orbit of the former into a elliptical shape. This type of perturbation actually has a specific name! It's called orbital resonance. Orbital resonance occurs when two (or more!) satellites exert periodic gravitational influences on each other which is capable of modifying the eccentricity (i.e. the closeness of an orbit's shape to a perfect circle) of each other's orbits. I like to think of it as a spinning wheel. Imagine a wheel at rest. If you lightly tap it downwards, it will move a little bit and then stop. But, if you keep hitting it periodically in just the right way, it will slowly gain energy and move faster. Likewise, if a wheel is already spinning fast, lightly brushing against it will cause it to slow down and, eventually, stop completely.
As you might expect, most cases of resonance aren't stable. There's a limit to how fast you can make a wheel spin before it breaks. Unstable resonances often either shift into a more stable orbit or be ejected from the system entirely (the celestial equivalent of a wheel breaking off its axle and fucking off to who knows where). In fact, the Cassini Division, a 4,500 km gap separating Saturn's A-ring and B-ring, is theorized to have been caused by an unstable resonance involving the moon Mimas. Some cases, however, are self-correcting and thus completely stable. In fact, a whole class of trans-neptunian objects (minor planets which orbit the Sun at a greater average distance than Neptune) are defined by having a 2:3 resonance with Neptune. That is, Neptune orbits the Sun three times for every two orbits of these plutinos (named after their largest member, Pluto). The most famous case, however, occurs in the case of Jupiter's moons Io, Europa, and Ganymede, which are in a 4:2:1 resonance with each other. That is to say, for every one orbit around Jupiter that Io takes, Europa orbits twice and Ganymede orbits four times. Now, if I'm being honest, I don't know what this means in practicality. I'm not a scientist, and I don't even plan on studying celestial mechanics. I just think this is cool, but I don't understand it well enough to talk in detail about it. I hope this was a cool introduction for anyone that wanted to research it themselves, though!

Headcanon
One thing Logan hasn't shared with many people regarding his time on Mimas is they were able to see the final flight of the Cassini probe and the descent to Saturn's surface, granted from a distance.
They were able to patch in the NASA control room radio where they could hear the commands coming in through each phase of her last flight, and Logan is still in awe of it to this day. (He cried with his team, it was a monumental moment).
Some of the photos Cassini took happened to capture their colony on Mimas: it really only shows up twice, and some people have since found and kept those photos before they were removed once the Mimas mission was destroyed.

In Brazil, providing a safe space for children to learn and flourish
Tumblr media
In Brazil, a national programme to open more pre-schools and nurseries, known as Proinfância, was launched in 2007. The city of Atibaia in the Brazilian state of São Paulo is known for its floriculture. And that’s where the kindergarten Professora Hermínia Salarolli dos Santos Bacci (Mima Bacci) was inaugurated in February 2022. Located in a rural neighborhood called Tanque, the school hosts 160 students from 0 to 5 years old.
Thirty minutes away from Mima Bacci is another school named Professora Maria José Borges Russomanno in the Jardim das Cerejeiras neighborhood. The school serves 360 children from 0 to 5 years old.
"For me, education requires respect of babies and children. It means believing in the power of play. Offer affection and you’ll receive twice as much in return. You have to believe in the child as actor. It's a learning curve for me every day. You have to have faith in humanity!", says Vanessa Cardeal Oliveira Moreno, a pedagogical coordinator and teacher.

ok i feel like ranting about perfect blue today
warning: essay
i really need to find how im gonna tag these posts where i just ramble about how much i love my favorite pieces of media.
anyways im just gonna say a lot here:
mima has psychosis, which is amazing and confusing. i felt like I was being gaslit simply by watching the movie itself. she has no clue what's happening and neither do i. she's fighting for her life out here. and the rights to her own identity.
girlie nearly got murdered twice, her coworkers were murdered, one of her coworkers tried to murder HER, and she was being stalked, that's emotionally scarring-
uchida's theme is a bop at that one part, and i love how hes actually ugly. finally someone that makes stalkers in media actually vile and not have all their behavior be overlooked by the fandom simply because their hot!
he also genuinely scares me.
rumi. i dont know how to feel about rumi. on one hand she did try to kill mima, but on the other hand, her alter was based off mima and tried to kill her. i may need to rewatch the film again. (which i wouldn't mind.)
and rumi's alter is uncanny. girlie floats, and glows compared to the actual mima. she seems like less of someone based off mima and more of a messed up magical girl.
the ost virtual mima scares me so much. but it was also perfect for that scene. it was so good for the "chorus" to start playing when the realization truly hits mima. that this is in fact, not her room and that the person trying to kill her is rumi. the music makes the scene in my opinion.
and speaking of scenes, the elevator scene will be in my nightmares tonight.
i may say more but this post is long enough and i need to be stopped. my obsession with this movie is too much i could rant about it for hours-
this movie is amazing tbh

tatablan din pala ako ng sakit. flu season na naman and I’m so unlucky to have it at this moment kasi need ko na matapos yung chapters 1-3 ng thesis ko. nasira pa laptop ko. what a mess. I’m so bitter to be honest na wala akong bakasyon the whole time last week because I’m working on my papers pero ganun talaga. I’m manifesting that next year will be different. malay mo travel abroad yun who knows *wink*.
I’d like to honor my body kasi hindi na ako sakitin. for the whole year ngayon lang din ako tinamaan ng sakit kahit lahat na ng tao dito sa bahay may sakit kapag nagbabago yung panahon unlike prepandemic halos buwan-buwan ako nilalagnat o hinihika. sobrang lala. I’m so happy that I’ve managed to have a good relationship with food and nutrition. tinigilan ko na rin mag-diet kasi alam ko naman unbalanced naman talaga yung ginagawa ko dati just to stay fit. grabe yung paglilimit ko ng pagkain before. sobrang toxic in a way because I don’t understand how food fuels the body and how consuming less nutrients can affect your overall health. I guess my turning point was when I had Covid twice tapos two consecutive years na birthday ko yun pareho. sobrang lungkot haha. that’s when I decided na I will be healthy and be gentle with my body. I gained a few lbs now but I do feel better compared to my previous years. baka kulang na lang din ako sa pahinga ngayon kasi kailangan ko gumawa ng homework araw-araw para umabot ako sa deadline sa school. I only sleep 5 hours a day tapos medyo nagkakaron na naman ako ng hormonal imbalance pero kaya ko to. laban lang mima.
Here I am while resting the whole day. I hope everyone’s okay too.
