I love 'The Great Debate'. I think it's one of my favourite fics that I've ever read on Tumblr.

I must confess, I came across it randomly on AO3 and I usually don't really read much on AO3, but I was completely and utterly captivated by your series, and I just read the whole thing in one go.

I honestly really, really enjoyed it. I thought it was incredibly witty and well-paced, and I just loved the way you tackled the characters and wrote the dialogue, and I was just so wholeheartedly charmed by it.

I've reread it multiple times, to be honest, and I keep checking your page just to see if you've updated your fic. It is just so, so, so good.

I'm a real sucker for academic rivalry stories, and I just thought you tackled things brilliantly. Your fic is engaging. It is clean and crisp. It is sexy. I love it—truly.

I really enjoyed the build-up of the relationship and I just loved how sizzling the sexual tension was, and I loved the whole dance-floor scene, and I absolutely loved how you tackled their relationship.

(Also, just as a note, I think the way you portrayed her loss of virginity was the most believable I've ever seen in my life in any type of literature/media.)

I keep coming back to this fic.

I honestly can't really choose what my favourite part of this fic is. I loved the introduction—it set the scene perfectly and I love how she has an answer for everything. I loved the strange tension between them when she was going out with Satoru. I loved, loved the nightclub scene. I was completely enamoured with 'Chapter Ten'. It was so, so, so incredibly well-written and it was just the right amount of passion, sexiness and softness. I am in love with it.

I really hope you will continue with this series because it holds a very special place in my heart.

Send me two characters and I will tell you what my ideal ship dynamic is for these characters!

This one is obviously my favorite ship and I get to tell you all why; just bear with me, because I'll take a bit to explain. In a previous ask about Illuso, I hinted at the idea that Prosciutto's Stand is something that just about every other member has to take into consideration if they want to get close and personal with the man, and nobody, absolutely nobody on the team is at greater risk objectively than Formaggio, whose shrinking ability makes TGD even deadlier to himself. Imagine meeting a Stand User whose power can kill you in about a minute, and realizing that your Stand's ability allows that guy to kill you in ten seconds or less. The power divide is incredible: it's just some guy versus the Angel of Death.

But here's the thing: I never understood why Formaggio was canonically considered weak by his teammates. Just about anybody can kill if they decide to make up their mind to do it, but not everyone is able to infiltrate just about any place or dispose of the bodies/evidence. Because his Stand comes equipped with a blade on top of his all-inclusive shrinking ability, Formaggio can do ALL of these things by himself! Literally any other assassin will struggle with at least one of these three phases, and he has all of the bases covered! That is incredible, and because of that, Formaggio should logically be considered a key asset to his team - and therefore I headcanon him as someone with self-esteem issues, someone who knows what he can do, but he has taken too many jabs and is surrounded by some really intense people.

And this is where Prosciutto's disposition to see worth in others comes in, because he is a professional with a great eye for potential. He is so intent on coaching Pesci because he knows there is an untapped gold mine in that boy's soul, and he is determined to make Pesci realize it and come into his own power. Someone like Prosciutto would look to Formaggio with respect, and the added anime scene at the restaurant actually shows us that he trusts Formaggio to get the job done. Despite the incredible power imbalance arising from their respective abilities, to Prosciutto's mind Formaggio is an equal... and I think that understanding would allow Formaggio to take a good hard look at himself, and realize that yes, he is good and capable in his own right, and he has nothing to prove to anyone. He already has a strong sense of self, but getting to a place where someone supposedly out of his league thinks he's just right would allow him to completely own that, while Prosciutto could use someone who can lighten him up and introduce some playfulness into his daily routine.

In short, I believe in the inherent eroticism of the intimate understanding between an eldritch abomination and that one little guy they like. I relish the thought of Formaggio strutting around town with his head held high like "You might take me for a clown, but the cosmic horror I share my life with thinks I'm neat. You come to my turf and call me weak? Bitch, I eat pussy that's a million times more lethal than the Elephant's Foot. I am dating the scariest motherfucker on God's green Earth; the second scariest motherfucker is me."

I’ll pick 5 songs that have been played the most in the past year or so in particular, and as a challenge I won’t use anything from AFI/Blaqk Audio/DREAMCAR lol

1. “Toxic Eye” - Choir Boy

I found Choir Boy sometime last year, and maybe it’s the YouTube algorithms that keep giving me the music video for “Toxic Eye” again and again, but I can’t help but get this one stuck in my head. The “ba da daa, ba da daa da daaaa”’s are so delightful, and the atmosphere of a Choir Boy song is just so cozy.

2. “Napoleon” - Riki

Similar to Choir Boy its catchiness (“woah-oh oh, Napoleon”), just some simple synthpop goodness that makes you wanna dance.

3. “Mirror’s Image” - Rosegarden Funeral Party

RFP is a group I only found earlier this year, but I’ve fallen in love with their brand of Siouxsie-inspired goth rock. Their videos are aesthetically pleasing, and their songs have some gorgeous emotional vocals. I could have also went with “Gates of Heaven” or “Martyr” here, but “Mirror’s Image” just especially resonates with me.

4. PUP - “Full Blown Meltdown”

A friend of mine got me to listen to PUP a few months ago, and I especially enjoyed the Morbid Stuff album. This song in particular has a ton of energy, but I have to share it for another reason too…I’m pretty sure there’s a reference to AFI’s “The Great Disappointment” in it??? Listen to the guitar at 1:26 and tell me that’s not a reference to the part in TGD that goes “inside a crumbling effigy, but you promised”???!??

5. “Secrets (Your Fire)” - Magdalena Bay

Magdalena Bay’s Mercurial World album is fantastic and has some great tracks, but this one gets me even more because of its sublime music video. It’s like all of the old tech cheesy-ness that I love about Blaqk Audio’s “Anointed” video, but with late 90’s Internet aesthetics. It’s so much fun and such a visual treat.

Anyway, Karen was amazing this episode, obviously. She was smart (including knowledgeable), funny (mostly in the flashbacks, and the end xD), and finally just an icon in general, as she always is. But most importantly, she's ALIVE 😍😍😍😍🤩🤩.

Hen!! Again, icon, funny, amazing?? Not that she wasn't also smart lol, like how I said with Karen xDD. To be fair, she did save that guy! Anyway, I'm so glad she was able to save Karen 😭😭. Well, all of them really. Also, even though it's a bit of a own with how much time she spent on it, I'm glad Hen chose to continue to be a firefighter :')). And she was also great in the flashbacks <33.

And I'm so glad Denny's okay too :))). I was less worried about him than Karen - more guts to kill him (honestly the younger the gutsier in most cases I think lol) - but still :)). And he is of course adorable and an icon <333.

Anyway I am W E A K for those flashbacks 😭😍😍🤩😭😍. It was soooo nice to get to see more of their relationship and how it developed, especially since they were like the only couple (that is currently still together anyway lol) established at the beginning of the series. Or like, from before that, I guess.

Anyway, they are such an amazing family and I love them so so so so so so so much <333333333.

Also the acting in this episode was just PHENOMENAL. Amazing job to all of them 🤩😍😍🤩.

Overall, I thought this was an absolutely stunning episode. I just loved it :D. The storyline, the emotion, the flashbacks - all amazing. Honestly it felt kind of like a HenRen Begins lol. Or, HenRenDen Begins xD. But yeah, we had our team family, and our Hen, Karen, and Denny family, and both were wonderful :). I seriously loved it, and I'm sure this'll be one I'll rewatch a lot.

So yeah! What a great episode. It was so, so good. I just loved it. I'm excited for next week, too, with the Halloween episode! This has been my review of. . .
