*You were never one to believe in Vietnamese superstition, that was until Ashrah confirmed that devils and thần trùng are very much real. Call yourself Doja Cat the way you'll Paint the Town Red with various lucky red ornaments and câu đối, you swear it's not out of fear.

*Ashrah feels accomplished as none of the rituals used to ward off evil worked on her. Even if she isn't fully purified, it means a lot to her.

*ASHRAH SPEAKS VIETNAMESE!??? yeah. Demons speak every language by default. How else would they tempt humans to the extent that they do? Suffice to say, your family is floored. They love her and shower her with attention (and food lol).

*Wears a white áo dài, as it is a pure colour and a reminder of her mission.

*She loves listening to stories about your culture whenever the two of you are alone, but participating in it is a bit nerve-racking to say the least.

*Li Mei is not used to this much relaxation. She doesn't have many opportunities to let her guard down, especially during such large gatherings!

*She's very tense the first half of the week, but on the fourth day she seems to loosen up a bit, smiling and playing games along with you and your fam.

*Is more than willing to help you clean the day before, as it gives her something to do. Tries to help with cooking but is confused by Earthrealm ingredients and opts out.

*Will hide behind a tree and use her magic to light up the sky with fireworks for the local children to watch.

*Being around your family and seeing how you interact with them, she knows she made the right choice pursuing you.

*Like Mileena, she loves the áo dài, as it is perfect for Kombat.

*Each year, Li Mei learns to enjoy herself more and more, and each year she can't wait for Tết to come back around.

Cassie Cage

*She's so excited that you want to share your culture with her!!!

*Her impression of Vietnam isn't the greatest, having grown up around anti-communist propaganda and war movies (average American experience), so she's grateful for the opportunity to experience Vietnamese culture for herself.

*Your parents offer up their room for the two of you to sleep in during your stay, as it was a long flight from Cali. Cassie is exhausted, but the sight of a bed brightens up her mood quick! She makes the mistake of jumping onto the bed, only to find out through the steering pain in her back that the bed was wooden! Oops...

*Sure, getting to know your family is cool and all, but she wants to explore! She becomes quick friends with one of your uncle's, using google translate to communicate. *Cassie is an okay cook for the most part, so she'll help with the cooking here and there. Cassie has a high tolerance for spice, so prepare anything you like!

*She feels awkward trying on an áo dài for the first time, as she doesn't want to be disrespectful, but you reassure her that it's fine.

*Sooooo many photos!!! Her followers can't get enough of how to two of you look in your áo dài!!!!

*After you both return to Cali, Cassie feels homesick, even though she was only in Vietnam for a week. She didn't realise how empty America felt until she left it. Now, she's making plans to move countries with you :)

Hey! Sorry to bother you but I saw you answer an ask where you talked about your headcanons for Johnny Cage and Kuai Liang's friendship and now I really wanna hear more headcanons of yours, if you want to share?

noo it's not a bother at all!! i love doing stuff like this, it lets me feel out more for characters! also, sorry if anything is jumbled. i do not have a clear thought process! lol

alright, starting with hanzo first because i have a few that're pretty tame and small. as a nervous habit, i think he traces over certain parts of his hands like his knuckles and will tap on them to help stifle his anger. or he puts one hand in the other and squeezes it so it's not as obvious.

aside that, given his pyromancy, the man is a walking heater. he probably doesn't like cold tea, when or if he drinks it, so he will warm it up in his hands! and with his hands, he'll heat them enough to massage anything sore to help with that. i also think that despite things with kenshi, hanzo had to really fight with himself about takeda, always having an underlying fear due to what happened with his son. he cares a lot about him though :) for the most part he was awkward or felt that way, but despite his strict nature, all things seem to go well.

he takes a lot of pride in being well groomed and clean, and with that information, i also wonder if he kind of hates mess? finds being sweaty for too long a discomfort, hates to let blood dry on him, something he most likely has gotten used to, sure, but he still dislikes it.

for emotions, when he lets his anger control him, he thinks way more irrationally and is inherently more self-sacrificing. he doesn't really care what might happen to him because he's just going to come back again, so why should it matter? but if he actually has a cool head, hanzo's less likely to do something irrational.

kuai liang, i have a few more headcanons for! that being that he's so used to isolation and lack of touching (that isn't someone hitting him with their fists) that he kind of locks up and blue screens when he receives things like a hug, or a pat on the back. he can handle handshakes and a shoulder grab, since those happen quite often.

he's very careful, tactile. not one to blow up, but this leads to him bottling up emotions. he really has a habit of that, mainly because he one: doesn't want to be seen as weak and two: doesn't want anyone else to be burdened with his negativity, so to speak. he doesn't think it's obvious when it eats away at him, but frost, hanzo, johnny, they know when it is. but still kuai liang self-sabotages and is very avoidant about his feelings. he turns how he's feeling into a calm optimism, offering small smiles that are just facades. he's used to this, but also finds the new support, even after years, to still be so overwhelming. he appreciates it all, but it's a very slow process for kuai liang to properly open up.

out of everyone, i think johnny — since again, i see them as best friends — knows a lot of little things about kuai liang that kuai liang doesn't even admit or reveal aloud. he's just observant, notices when kuai liang makes little animal sculptures out of ice when he's bored. this totally doesn't prompt johnny to ask kuai liang to make him one of those fancy ice sculptures so he can use it at a fancy party.

for a few random ones, i think, despite the fact kuai liang doesn't drink or drinks very little, he'd be a great bartender. i like domestic au's, so bartender kuai liang is something i think about time to time. he'd also just look good in a suit. i also think he loves hamsters. there's just something about them he loves, and if he were a normal child with a normal life, he would've loved to own one growing up. or even currently as an old man! he just reads as a hamster guy.

* On his ,,Oyuban’’ skin you can see he has a little peace of fabric wrapped around his suit. When he was fixing your car after a recent race he decided to secure it to the rear view window (like behind it) as a love gesture

* Street racing is very much out of his comfort zone so when he saw you doing it Raiden was very much intimidated

* Is always scared your going to be caught by the cops

* When the race starts he’ll always be anxious bitting his finger and by accident zapping himself, hoping that you’ll be back as safe as possible

* If you win a race he will use his thunder powers to make tiny fireworks

* As much as he’s scared for you Raiden will ALWAYS be present during your race’s. He won’t miss it for the world

* Made you a leg charm for good luck and a sign of support and love

* Expensive cars that drive fast speeds ? SIGN HIM UP

* You take care of the technicalities and mechanical stuff and he deals with decorating and making your car look as best as possible

* If you do illegal street racing and get caught he’s gonna bail you out, maybe be a bit mad but eventually forgets about it and asks to see you race again

* If you ever need to practice he’ll rent out a private racing venue for you

* Watches from the side, love struck, dont get me wrong if you ever got into an accident he has 911 on spee dial but also trusts you to not drive too recklessly

* Gets all the best stylists he has to make you look the best before the race

* He’s your little passenger princess

* Definitely got you an air freshener that looks like his hat

* If he’s not sitting beside you he’ll instead be on the radio giving you warnings and advice for what to do

* You think he’s ever used his hat as a flag ? Like he throws it into the air to signal ,,go”

* Like Raiden this is out of his comfort zone, BUT he’s not against it

* Don’t get me wrong he doesn’t like it if you do it illegally, although he puts that aside because he sees that your having fun.

* Tries to take you as much as possible to legal racing venues, mostly for your safety (also he wouldn’t know what to do if you got caught)

* If you have longer hair before the race he’ll give you his hairband so your hair wont get the way and as a safety item (his way of saying ,,Be safe”)

* After a race the night will be finished with a cup of tea and cuddling in his bed

* Mostly comes to have a good time and to cheer you on

Just silly little hc I wrote for fun. Might not be my best cuz I wrote those quite fast but hopefully y'all like it.

Characters : Smoke, Kitana, MK9 Kabal

Disclaimer : English ain't my native language so there might be mistakes. I apologizes for them

SMOKE/ TOMAS VRBADA

Not having heard from you in a while, smoke goes on a search around the Lin Kuei temple.

Doesn't notice you the first time he passes by you.

Has to do a double take.

When he comes back, he can believe his eyes.

You seemed to be asleep while leaning on one of the support beams of the temple

How you managed to keep yourself upright while napping is a mystery for Smoke.

Spend a short time just watching you.

Thinks you might be faking it at first but after investigating, he confirms that you are in fact napping while standing up.

Has to bite the inside of his cheeks to stop himself from laughing.

Knows how hard you've been pushing yourself in the Lin Kuei training.

Smoke would carefully pick you up, making sure not to move you too much so you don't wake up.

Brings you to your shared rooms

Hours later, (Y/n) woke up slightly disoriented. Panic started settling in them only to melt away as quickly as it came when an arm wrapped around their stomach flexed. Following the arm with their eyes, (Y/n) smiled softly as the face of a sleeping Tomas came into view. Deciding that another hour of napping would do them good, (Y/n) repositioned themselves to face their partner and went back to sleep.

KITANA

She was on her way back to her throne when she stumbled upon your sleeping form.

The place you had chosen as your resting place was the stairs.

Kitana stared at you in disbelief.

She did find the sight quite amusing.

So did the others that went up and down the stairs.

Kitana didn't want to disturb your nap but was also worried that someone could involuntarily hurt you.

Torn between letting you sleep or waking you up, she slowly approached you.

Opening your eyes, you were greeted by the beautiful smiling face of your girlfriend.

Can't stop herself from chuckling at you as you drowsily stood up.

Will genuinely laugh when you turn to face her and there would be an imprint of the stairs on your cheeks.

You feel a bit embarrassed but Kitana reassures you that she finds it adorable.

Will guide you back to your shared room as you are still quite exhausted from running around the temple, helping wherever you can.

As they lay on their soft mattresses (Y/n) glanced over their shoulders. Kitana was leaning against the doorframe of their bedroom. “Join me?” They asked in a sleepy voice. Approaching the bed, Kitana placed a gentle kiss on her partner’s lips. “I’ll join you soon, I have important matters to take care of first.” With one last kiss, they watch her leave. In a matter of seconds, they were back in sleep’s embrace. Hours later, Kitana would keep her promise and join them.

MK9 KABAL

The man would stumble upon you by accident.

Has to process what he's seeing to fully understand it.

You were half hunching over one of the special force vehicles, your head resting on your arms like a makeshift pillow.

Kabal can’t imagine how you’d be able to fall asleep in such an uncomfortable position.

Unless you were extremely exhausted.

Which he believed you were considering you didn’t even react to him gently shaking your shoulder.

Does consider leaving you there.

But decides otherwise since he knows how bad the stiffness is going to be once you wake up.

Uses his speed to bring you to your shared room and tuck you into bed.

Will tease you about this when he sees you again.

Massaging their stiff neck, (Y/n) walked inside the meeting tent. Kabal was already there, discussing strategies with Sonya Blade. Upon hearing someone approach, Kabal glanced their way.

“ Morning sleepy head.”

The meeting would pass in a blur and throughout it, (y/n) could somehow feel Kabal grinning at them behind his mask. As the meeting came to an end, (y/n) approached the man puzzled.

“Any reason why you’ve been grinning at me the whole meeting?”

Later on, they would regret asking this particular question.

“You weren’t in bed when I found you sleeping yesterday.”

In thus begin the incessant teasing from Kabal whenever he would find you near a vehicle. What he would never tell you was that in truth he was only worried about you. Seeing you this exhausted made him think how poorly you’ve treated your sleep schedule. Kabal would go out of his way to make sure you were sleeping properly and in a bed.

He’s not loud, but certainly not quiet either, and not because he’s trying to please his partner when he turns into a mess — it’s just too damn good to keep quiet. He's awfully embarrassed by his sensitivity, laughing at himself after the deed every time, but convince him enough that you enjoy hearing his sounds of pleasure, and he’ll gladly be singing in your ear the next time you get to it.

He starts off in low groans and hitched breaths, quiet enough to perhaps go unnoticed. But bring him closer to his peak and his groans become whimpers, your name scattered few and far between such gentle noises, especially for a man who’s been chosen to fight Outworld’s deadliest warriors.

okay i kinda cheated here and made it mk11 hanzo x bi-han's daughter becaaaause well i could tehehe and it's hard for me write ships that involve minors

tw: age gaps can't help it folks, i love it too much

Hanzo was unaware that Bi-Han had any children when he took Bi-Han's life in kombat

The Shirai Ryu leader could only see vengeance when he faced Bi-Han again and was clouded by it

He was unable to listen to reason and struck Bi-Han down without mercy

Later he learned that it had been Quan Chi's trickery that had killed his family

That not all he learned. Hanzo came to learn about Bi-Han's family and he was instantly filled with regret

Hanzo is able to meet Bi-Han's daughter through Kuai Liang, who he has established an alliance with

He worries about how this meeting will go and how you will react to your father's murderer

Nerves fill his body as he approached the Lin Kuei manner and there he sees you

If he had not known your relation to Bi-Han he would have thought you to be anyone else

You do not resemble Bi-Han much and Hanzo is soon puzzled when you give him a smile

"So this is the famous Scorpion I have heard about" those are your first words to him and Hanzo is finds himself pausing

He had prepared himself for a scolding or even a slap but there was none to be found

All he was given was kindness and respect by a young woman beautiful and regal

You are understanding and do not put the blame on Hanzo for your father's death. You are wise enough to know it was due to Quan Chi's deception that both of you have suffered

Hanzo cannot help but try to draw comparisons between you and your late father but he finds few

Where Bi-Han was commanding you are reasonable. When Bi-Han was cruel you showed understanding

Hanzo is rather impressed by you to say the least. You are quite the level-headed young woman

The two of you begin working together closely and there is a mutual respect and friendship formed between the two of you

You are partners with similar goals and the two of you work together well. Perhaps too well

Hanzo beings to notice a shift in his feelings for you. Eyes would linger upon you longer than they should, thoughts of you entered his mind when he tried to sleep

He is no fool and knows the nature of these emotions. Hanzo experienced the very same with Harumi

Problem is, Hanzo a well grown man now and you...well, you were still experiencing life

Hanzo is conflicted with his attraction to you. He finds you magnificent and enchanting but what is he to do?

He a man older than you and the killer of your father

Hanzo feels disgraced and ashamed with himself. How can he harbor feelings for such a young woman?

There is guilt with his family as well. He wonders if Harumi would forgive him or understand. He has no true way of finding out

Hanzo is noticeably distracted and when you try to confront him about this, he is quick to say that he is fine. You know better

Try as you might to pry the truth from him, Hanzo remains stoic in his response and you begin to worry about him greatly

It is an inner battle that rages inside the body and mind of Hanzo Hasashi and there seems to be no resolution in sight

Or perhaps there is. Perhaps the feelings kept within him mirror your own

Could there be more between the two of you just waiting to be unleashed?

Geras: -Does he fall for it? Yes. Did he know you put a mistletoe on the ceiling? Yes, absolutely. -Geras knows about all traditions, both Earthrealm and Outworld ones, so he knows what a mistletoe means. -Totally didn't avoid it because he would gladly kiss you. -"You knew about the misteltoe, right?" your arms on his shoulders, right hand scratching the back of his head exactly where you know he likes it. "I knew, but I didn't want to ruin your fun." -Your head drops on his shoulder, a smile grace your features; obviously, he knew about it. -"So-" You look back at him. "Yeah, it's time for me to pay up." "Oh, thank you-" -His soft lips touch yours, a delicate kiss soon turning into something else, your bodies moving closer to your shared bedroom. -Geras saw this, too.

Shinnok: -Doesn't know what a misteltoe is, so he totally falls for it. -He has been so much time in the Netherrealms that Shinnok almost forgot what a real plant looks like. -"Hey, stop right where you are!" He raises an eyebrow, not understanding why you are so serious all of sudden. You notice the worry on his face so you explain the situation immediately. -Shinnok has to admit he got a bit pissed, he really thought there was something wrong! -He'll kiss you, it's fast and just a butterfly touch of lips, but you don't dig for more knowing full well you won't get more. -Your day goes on normally. He calms down fairly quick so you won't have to deal with a pissed elder god for the entire day. -Maybe next year it will be just better to ask for a kiss…

Quan Chi: -Never cared about learning Earthrealm traditions, so he noticed something hanging from the ceiling but simply didn't care. -Imagine his surprise when he feels your hand on his chest, stopping him from taking another step. -You explain what is going on, and you can see him rolling his eyes. -Quan Chi accepts, but at one condition… keeps your hands in place. -He has places to be, and he can't redo his makeup all over again! -At the end, it is Quan Chi that loses his composure kiss, getting more and more intense every time your lips press. -He'll say it is all your fault, all a plan to get him all for yourself. You laugh, willing to take the blame.

⛈️ Snotty nose, throwing up, coughing up a bunch of flem, none of it’s a good time

🔘 ^ Normally Kung Lao tries to push through his sickness, the Great Kung Lao doesn’t need to take some nap or medication!! He can tough it out by himself!! 💪

🔘 Raiden usually wouldn’t have him drink anything that will make his tummy become more upset, but a bit of apple juice after yucky medicine is something he can slide by

🔘 He can’t anyways, either Kung Lao is dead asleep on him, or his grip is so tight he simply can’t remove him

⛈️ Kung Lao has two favorite sick activities: Being bottle feed and playing with trains

🔘 Of course Lord Raiden will bottle feed his baby!! Some teary eyes and a lip quiver, and Raiden will request for someone to send a nice warm milk bottle

⛈️ Even if Kung Lao is feeling super yucky and icky, he still wants to play with Dada

🔘 So Raiden will put his train set on the bed, and him and Kung Lao will roll the trains around until it’s time for another nap

⛈️ Raiden’s actually very worried with how sick Kung Lao is, because little Kung Lao has never been this docile with him

🔘 He’ll take Kung Lao to the medics for a ‘fun trip’, so he can get a sucker and see his favorite nurse!! (one of the few that deals directly with sick or hurt regressors)

⛈️ But honestly he just wants to make sure one of his favorite mortal is okay (it really is just a bad flu, he’ll get over it in a few days)

🔘 However, there is a big joke about ‘Mama Bear Raiden’ for the next few weeks, which both big and little Kung Lao soak up like a sponge in water 😮‍💨

When Raiden first saw you, it was like love at first sight. He was captivated by your beauty, you must be new, he’s never seen you around before.

I like to think he questions Madam Bo about you, like where you from (BTS song should definitely listen to it😩), what you like, pretty much the basics.

Its so obvious he likes you and just for that Kung Lao both teases him and gives him tips on how to woo someone, granted he gets rejected by like everyone 😭.

Smart Raiden doesn’t take Kung Lao’s advice and just be himself, though he is shy and it takes time, he does ask you out and you say yes :D!!

He takes you out on a picnic and later takes you stargazing, honestly I love him so much! He’s so sweet and humble 😭 treat him well, please.

In the end, he walks you home and you takes the opportunity to give him a hug and a kiss on the cheek! Best bet he tells Kung Lao everything! “AND SHE GAVE ME A KISS :D RIGHT HERE” and points at his cheek.

what are some of your favorite mk headcanons for the non-mk1 timelines? :3

THE NON-MK1 TIMELINES!!! wow, this is very broad!! this is kinda lengthy (for mobile), and i hate long posts, but here you are!

they're probably going to be very kuai liang based because he's my absolute favorite. sorry in advance; but, (i can't really remember what is and isn't canon i can't lie) i think kuai liang has always struggled with being lonely (aside smoke, of course) and surprisingly enough, once he met johnny cage he felt like he made a new friend. johnny can be very insightful when he wants to be, usually hidden in his jokes, but that man is smart! book smart, at least. he wants to prove himself every way possible, but seeing that he humbles up later on in mk11, he definitely came to terms with himself and finally saw himself as good enough to some degree.

kuai liang admires that about johnny, and i personally think that he looks up to johnny for his character development, and he appreciates johnny's insight.

through dialogue with joker, he actually says johnny is the only one who can call him grandmaster blueberry ice and live, which kind of led me to believe they're better friends than initially let on. i'd like to see more people explore their friendship because honestly, aside hanzo or smoke, kuai liang would actually seek out comfort from johnny since his humor is always nice for kuai liang, given his character role as comedic relief. kuai liang doesn't really smile or laugh often, but johnny can get him into a laughing fit if the joke is right. kuai liang was never really able to afford the luxury of relaxation, friendship and laughter, that safety and comfort so johnny's friendship is very improtant to kuai liang.

in short, my favorite headcanon outside mk1 is that johnny and kuai liang are best, possibly unusual, friends!

i genuinely can't think of much else, but this is already pretty long, so i'll leave it at that :3
