ok it feels a little odd to self promote in your asks, but i haven't seen you in my notes in a bit and wanted to let you know if you missed it that i started a new ODAAT fic project last month! another, longer, alvareider AU up on AO3. ouran OT3 would be fun but needs to wait until penelope & schneider get their happy ending, or i'll never finish anything lol
i'm happy for you to self promote and i'm happy to promote on your behalf: hey everyone, threegee is writing a really good alvareider au and if you like odaat at all you should read it!!!
i've been rotating your earlier reply in my head since i got it, the one about alvareider and the cross-cultural, cross-class aspect of their relationship, and the power they have over each other that they don't abuse, and the way penelope punches up at schneider a lot and figures he can take it.
then it cross-pollinated with your thoughts about ouran host club, and i started thinking about how any fic shipping haruhi with any of the hosts that goes beyond a fluffy one-shot is going to eventually bump up against the power and class dynamic. it doesn't need to be a huge focus, but it's definitely there around the edges all her interactions.
that would be especially true with tamaki, who has the most direct power over her because of her debt but seems unaware of it; and kyoya, who's extremely aware of the financial leverage he's got, and presses on that in pointed ways, but also comes to truly respect haruhi. they're not her landlords and can't literally kick her out of her home, but that's still one hell of a relationship factor! (plus there's everything about the beach episode, but that's more than i'm willing to grapple with if i tried to write this ot3, at least at first)
thinking also about how the hitachiin twins initially think that tamaki is just collecting his richest and most influential classmates, but he genuinely just wants to be friends with all of them, and how he sort of does the same thing with haruhi and is then very upset when he considers that he may have been demanding too much of her time.
...now i just want to rewatch ohshc.

Where Are My Residuals? Actors/Writers Share Horror Stories On Picket Line, Social Media
"With all the strike talk about low pay, WGA and SAG-AFTRA members are starting to play a little show me yours and I’ll show you mine when it comes to their (paltry) residual checks.
Just about everyone has a story to share about how their residuals took a serious nose dive with the advent of new media. A recent story in The New Yorker about how actors on the once successful Orange is the New Black never enjoyed a financial windfall only exacerbated the angst felt by actors and writers these days.

Just about everyone has a story to share about how their residuals took a serious nose dive with the advent of new media. A recent story in The New Yorker about how actors on the once successful Orange is the New Black never enjoyed a financial windfall only exacerbated the angst felt by actors and writers these days.
Here’s a sampling of their stories:
Jason Belleville (Home Economics): “I wrote on the first season of Cobra Kai, which is one of the biggest shows in Netflix history. I think I have more money in my pockets right now than any residuals I’ve seen from that. I was also was an executive producer of a show for Netflix called Sneakerheads, which was a smaller show, but it premiered No. 1 one in a bunch of countries for a little while. I have yet to see $1 from that. And I was a writer and EP on that, in comparison. Some of them [broadcast shows he worked on] you can still get some money from but obviously, it’s not like it was. But there’s always a steady trickle that comes in to remind you that you once worked, right? The [residual] formats for cable and for networks are clear and transparent. Whether they’re as much as we want them to be or not, they’re at least something that you can rely on. Whereas, some of these YouTube shows, these [shows licensed to] Netflix. This whole strike is about having money you can rely on through the years so you can pay for your mortgage, you can take care of your kids, as opposed to opening an envelope and going ‘oh, it’s a nickel this time.'”
Aisha Tyler (Criminal Minds, The Last Thing He Told Me): I do a show [Whose Line Is It Anyway] that is double and triple and quadruple pumped in the United States and maybe 50 countries, and I don’t see any residuals. I know it’s been very frustrating to me and my co-stars. It’s theft. We generate all of the creative output on that show. We are the writers, we are the performers, we do everything and we don’t get compensated for it. I already I already threw a couple of temper tantrums so you can see I’m a bit more sanguine about it now but we’ve been fighting about it for years and it’s just pure and simple. It is creative theft."
Mike Royce via Twitter (writer-producer, One Day At A Time, Men of a Certain Age): “Some people are wondering how residuals will work for this, and since One Day at a Time had the somewhat unique experience of running on streaming, cable AND network TV, I can tell you how it worked for me. In 2020, season 4 of ODAAT was on the Pop Network (cable). Later that year CBS repeated it, because it was the pandemic and they needed programming. I co-wrote an episode with Gloria Calderón Kellett so we split the residuals. For the Pop showings I got (lower) cable residuals, but the CBS repeat paid me half the network residual (exactly what it should be for a co-written episode) … For perspective, that one CBS repeat of one episode of ODAAT paid me roughly the same as I’ve been paid IN TOTAL for one episode of ODAAT streaming on Netflix 24/7 for the last 4-6 YEARS. In other words, 1 network repeat residual = 5 years of streaming residuals. This is why we’re on strike."
Sarah Sokolovic (Big Little Lies, Homeland): “I can tell you the money I made from residuals dropped in 2015 to less than half in 2018. And the funny thing about it was I was on two, Emmy-award winning shows. It’s not on the side of the individual producers, of course. It’s really about the studios making sure that the basic contract has things in place so that actors like me benefit from their work residually over time. There was a time when I was traveling out of the country, so I had to have my mail forwarded to my mother. She was helping me with deposits, physical checks at the time. She opens a check and she goes, ‘Sarah, it’s three cents’. I said yes. She said it actually costs more to mail it.'”
Marqui Jackson (showrunner, All American: Homecoming): “Just in general, residuals are not what they used to be. You can’t depend on residuals to even begin to sustain a living in between gigs. It’s just kind of like extra money because sometimes they’re as low as a couple of bucks. I don’t think there has been a wellspring of residuals from All American: Homecoming, even though we are doing well. It is hard to fight for the right number when you don’t know what the numbers [ratings] are. That’s part of why we’re fighting because if they’re making money off on our content we should be part of it.”
John Carroll Lynch (Trial of the Chicago 7, White House Plumbers): “I’ve noticed that anything I do for streaming is not even one-tenth of the residual stream that I got for something terrible that I did. I certainly got paid more for an episode of The Visitor, which is a show I did when I first got here and only lasted one season. I got higher residuals by about 100 percent to what I get when it [was licensed to] Netflix. At some level, we’re dealing with a different group of people who have union institutional memory. Disney as a corporation has institutional memory of using unions, often much to their chagrin. That’s true of Warner Bros. and Universal. Apple, Amazon, and Netflix all come from Silicon Valley which has no institutional memory of unions. It’s time to teach them what sharing needs to be.”
Kevin Sussman (The Big Bang Theory) “For me the big issue is residuals for streaming. I’ve known that it’s been untenable for years. I was surprised that it took this long for there to be a strike like this. I’ve seen residuals for my own shows absolutely tank once they go to streaming. I’m lucky because I was on The Big Bang Theory, which was on a broadcast network for years. Since it moved to streaming [like Max and Amazon Prime], it’s night and day. I don’t see how it’s possible for an upcoming actor these days to actually be able to make a living.”
Charlie Barnett (Men in Black 3, Russian Doll): I have those check stories of like $9 coming out. Twenty years ago, if I had the career that I have today, it would be entirely different. I can’t afford to buy a house. We just moved into a smaller place in order to start saving. It would be improper to say that I don’t have a certain amount of privilege in the position that I am. I have to recognize that. But us in these positions in of height, have all the ability to fight for the people who are under us, who are still climbing. Just the background deal that they said is historically different is bullshit. I started out in background. Are you going to tell me that I’m going to sell my image in perpetuity to a studio? It’s insane. What happens to my career for the rest of my life? It doesn’t provide any safety, any protection, any ability for growth for what this industry is, for what it’s always been. These contracts that we have built off of network television have stood for so long. We have not seen any growth through the streaming platforms. It’s kind of the Wild West. The conversation point in saying over and over again, the industry we are funding and continuing to put millions and millions of dollars into, is not profiting us. It’s BS. It’s also mirrored in the fact that half of these execs, their pay is raising continually, year and year. We have not seen growth on our side. And through the writers as well.”

‘One Day at a Time’ Missing Scene 1
I’ve been writing missing scenes for ODAAT as I edit the original novel version of the story, just for something to break up the monotony of editing and formatting. Here’s the moment when Harry first blurted out that he loved Hermione.
Harry was supposed to be watching the telly. What if she wanted to discuss the movie at the end? He would have nothing to say. He hadn’t been paying attention. Instead, he’d been sneaking glances at her. He hadn’t even been listening—his head was too crowded with thoughts of her to properly focus.
Had she always been this pretty? Her smooth, tawny skin mixed with dark curls, full lips—which were currently curved into a smile, causing his own lips to quirk up—and those large, knowing eyes of hers … damn, she was perfect. And he’d missed it for nearly a decade.
Well, perhaps the Hogwarts years didn’t count. No one was particularly good looking at those ages. Then there was the war. He was probably allowed a pass for that year. But then … a whole year had passed and he hadn’t noticed how perfect she was. Until one day, he saw it, and he couldn’t stop noticing.
She laughed softly and turned to him. “Funny, yeah?”
He nodded dumbly, realized his mouth was hanging open, like a troll’s, and promptly closed it. “Erm, yeah.” He smiled, and she returned it, causing his heart to flutter.
She focused back on the screen, and so did he, trying to calm his heart before he did something embarrassing, like have a heart attack. Something funny happened, or he supposed it did—he still wasn’t paying attention—because she laughed again. His eyes found her face again.
Then, before he realized what he was doing, he blurted, “I’m in love with you.”
Holy shit. He’d been thinking about telling her for weeks now but not like this. Not on a Tuesday. (As if there was some ideal day to blurt out that you loved your best friend.) Fuck, he was an idiot.
And yet … it was bound to come out sooner or later. The weight of his feelings had become so large and was just getting heavier the longer they spent together, he’d reached the point where he could no longer hold onto them. And now she knew. Or did she?
She hadn’t moved since his confession. She was just watching the screen, the lights flashing across her perfect face, as if nothing had happened.
Had he told her? Or had he just imagined that? Should he say it again? Should he ask her if she’d heard him?
Or was this her answer? “I don’t feel the same. Let’s just pretend this never happened.”
Something sharp lodged itself in his chest, messing with his breathing. He’d pictured this scene so many times, but his brain had never taken him farther than the “telling her how he felt” part. Shit. Why hadn’t he imagined the next part? He was woefully unprepared for this and for some reason, the “just wing it and do what feels right” strategy that had always served him well was completely failing him.
He was still sitting there, opening and closing his mouth like an idiotic fish, when she turned to him, wound a hand around his neck, and kissed him.
For a few seconds, he just sat there, as if stunned, while she moved her lips against his frozen ones. She began to pull away, and he finally got a hold of his senses and kissed her back, holding her shoulder to keep her in place.
Merlin, her lips were softer than he imagined, her taste more perfect, her tongue deliciously insistent as it moved against his. Bloody fucking hell he was kissing her, Hermione, his best friend, the woman he loved, and it was more brilliant than he ever expected it could be.
“I love you too,” she breathed. His whole body screamed with triumph as he continued kissing her fiercely, struggling to decide which was better: the sound of her words or the taste of them.
“I know it might be— be hard to believe me”—her words were muddled since he couldn’t seem to make himself stop kissing her—“but I know it’s true.”
“I believe you,” he murmured against her lips.
She leaned back and smiled at him. “Yeah?”
He responded by capturing her mouth into another kiss. As she climbed into his lap and tugged his hair, and pressed her warm body against him while her words echoed pleasantly through him—I love you, I love you, I love you—he began to believe in the phenomena of manifesting dreams into reality.
It had never worked for him in the past. How many hours had he spent dreaming that some long lost relative would come take him away from the Dursleys? Or that Dumbledore would call him to his office and explain that they’d got the prophecy wrong and it referred to Neville after all? Neither of those had ever happened, but maybe he was getting what he wanted now as some special recompense for killing Voldemort.
Who the fuck knew? Hermione was sucking on his bottom lip now, and if it was because chance dictated that his deepest desires would overlap with reality at least once, or because the universe had decided it owed him something, it didn’t bloody matter. It was probably best not to question it and just enjoy the moment before it was gone.
They stopped to catch their breath, but Hermione didn’t move off of his lap. She rested her forehead on his as she continued to twist her fingers into his hair.
“I like kissing you,” she said, breathless. “It’s … familiar.”
He knew what she meant. Even though they’d never kissed before, it felt like they’d been doing this for ages. Well, they had been, in his head. Or maybe it was just their bodies telling them that they should have been doing this for ages. “This is actually our first kiss,” he said. “But I agree. It does feel familiar.”
“Our first kiss?” She leaned back. He kept a firm grip on her hips, so she couldn’t go far. “We’ve never…? Have you ever…? We don’t…?” She smiled and tried again. “I’m … this is a lot.”
“Yeah.” He pushed a curl behind her ear. “It is, and it isn’t. It’s just us. And—and we love each other.”
He half-expected the moment to dissolve once he said those words. When it didn’t, he felt immediately lighter. If she weren’t sitting on him, he might have floated away.
“But … how is this going to work, Harry?”
“No idea,” he said honestly. He’d never made it past this part in his daydream. “But we’ll figure it out,” he added, and he was sure they would. They could do anything together. Hadn’t they proven that time and time again?
“Yeah?”
“Absolutely.”
“Even if I forget?”
“You can write it down. And then you’ll know when you wake up. And I’ll fill in the rest.”
“But—”
“Don’t overthink it,” he pleaded. “You can make anything awful if you overthink it. But this … us … this is good. We can do this. I—I want to do this. To try. Can we … can we try?”
She lifted her hand and rested it on the side of his face. “Is this real?” she asked, rubbing her thumb along his cheek. “You really love me?”
“Yes,” he said immediately—nearly shouted it.
She laughed.
“I love you a lot,” he continued. “I have for, er, a long time. Longer than I realized.”
The people on the screen laughed at something, but neither of them were paying attention. They were just watching each other while Harry held his breath in anticipation of her next words.
“Okay,” she said. “Let’s try.”
Harry released the breath he’d been holding and pulled her into a long, languid kiss, while the movie continued playing in the background, completely forgotten.

I just want to give a heads up that I will be revamping all my simblrs.
Due to the fact that my real life has become a little bit more busy I have decided to just stick with my main page and historical page. I will also be getting rid of some challenges and adding the sims to my One Day at a Time which will be a modern day rotation with occult and regular sims. It will be a bunch of different stories that you can follow. I will try to tag them well.
I will also still be doing the Bradley BC since it is connected to ODAAT.
I will be getting rid of my Vanilla lite page and my Premades page.
For the main page these will be the Rotations that I will do:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are the challenges and stories:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I will also be doing a short story that is connected to One day at a time.
I will also be doing a legacy that will be unique and story driven.
I will be merging my two BACC's together.
As for my historical and fantasy page I will make changes when I am done with my main page.
Please be patient with me as I figure everything out.
Thank you!

Here are some underrated sapphic shows that should get more recognition
Vida:
2 sisters reunite after their mother's death to take over a bar in their home town. When they get there they discovered that their mother had been married to a woman for the last five years, and now they have to share share the bar with her. There's added tension because the mother threw her oldest daughter out of the house when she was a teenager because found out about her bisexuality
Teenage Bounty Hunters
Two twin sisters accidentally become involved in the Bounty Hunters business when they crash their fathers car. We see them navigate their lives between being average teenagers going to catholic school and their jobs as Bounty Hunters
Everything's Gonna Be Okay
An older brother with daddy issues has to adopt his 2 half-sisters when their father dies of cancer. This show is hilarious and has so much representation (autistim, gay, sapphic, asexual, biromantic, polyamorous, poc, ect.)
Motherland Fort Salem
Instead of witches being killed during the witch trials in the United States, they got recruited into the military where they, and their future daughters must fight for the country from when they turn 18 years
Little Fires Everywhere
This show is perfection! Little Fires Everywhere follows two families in the 90s. One of the families is a privileged white family while the other is a low-working class black family. The show follows the families as they get more and more involved in each other's lives and as the tension rise between them due to microagressions and an adoption storyline
We Are Lady Parts
We Are Lady Parts follows an all muslim riot grrrl/punk band as their band first get started. We see how their friendships evolve, and there aren't any Muslim stereotypes in the show, as far as I could tell
One Day At A Time
ODAAT follows a Cuban-American family as they go through life. The show includes important topics such as racism, gender inequality, homophobia and so much more. There is a sapphic relationship with a lesbian and a nonbinary person, and they're really cute together
Wonder Egg Priority (tw suicide and self harm)
A group of girls have all had someone close to them commit suicide, and the main characters tries to get the deceased back to life. In the meantime they develop a close friendship
Everything Sucks!
Everything Sucks! takes place in the 90s and revolves around two high school clubs, the tech club and the theater club, as they film an alien movie together. One of the main characters is a chaotic lesbian
The Wilds (tw SA, blood, death)
A group of teenage girls thinks they're going on a relaxing trip to Hawaii when they're involved in a plane crash, and are stranded on a deserted island. What they don't know is that the plane crash wasn't an accident and the girls are now involved in an experiment
The Sex Lives Of College Girls (SA, teacher-student "relationship")
This show follows four roommates as they navigate their first year of college. It deals with many relatable topics, and it's both funny and serious

OFMD renewal
How recent events turned the tables and made a renewal more likely again
This post is dedicated to David Jenknis who woke up this weekend and choose violence
A few thing happened during the last week. I will go through them Point by point and explain what it means for a OFMD renewal
1. David jenknis tweets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When he posted those tweets it was obvious that there was still no new contract from HBO max, renewing the show for a new season. A good example to explain it is the Netflix show shadow and bone. Shadow and bone was a hit show on Netflix but for some weird reasons it took Netflix nearly three months to renew the show. We still do not really know why, even though it is usual that Netflix sometimes needs longer to renew shows this took awfully long. Most probably it was a problem with the contracts but I am just guessing here. But why didn’t the fans started a #RenewShadowAndBone campaign? Because when asking the cast and crew if we would get a season 2 they kept silent. This is a good sign. Because it means they are under a new NDA making it impossible to say anything. A creator saying: „we do not know if we will get a new season“ is a bad sign. And NOT a creator lying to make the renewal more of a happy surprise. Look at the fandom, look how they reacted when Jenkins said he doesn’t know if OFMD will be back. This tweet immediately started to trend. Resulting in a wave of tweets adding HBO max, some of them rude of course. You do not do that when you are renewed and can not tell yet. Another good example are ODAAT or The Irregulars (both Netflix shows). Netflix dropped ODAAT without any promo, also resulting in the creator saying that if we want a fourth season the shows needs more views. You also do not do that when your show is renewed. After the show was cancelled she also encouraged the fans to tag other streaming services to help the show get a new home. Sounds familiar? The irregulars also had the actors say: „we do not know if we will get a season 2 but we hope so.“ they show was shortly cancelled after
So Jenkins deleting all the tweets, only leaving the „No ones giving up“ tweet online means something has changed. I just guess here that the instant Twitter storm has encourage HBO max to change their schedule and get in contact with Jenkins faster then they thought they would. That doesn’t mean the show is renewed but they are definitely talking. Because leaving a tweet up where you talk about changing the network is not so good if you are making new negotiations with your streaming service. But it they still aren’t talking you can leave it up. Maybe he put them down himself because he thought the tweets are too much or HBO asked him to. Whatever, it is a good sign
2. less BTS content
I know you all enjoy BTS content and it is fun to see all the glimpse behind the magic but actors posting so much BTS is a horrible sign for a renewal. Because it means their contracts ended and they can - mostly - post everything they want. In contrast: if you are still under a NDA, there are really strict regulations what you can and can not post. F.e. After season 3 of the Witcher started filming Royce Pierreson (the actor of Istredd) posted a short story showing him in a box, surrounded by nearly a 100 cameras, flashing him with light. They story didn’t spoiled anything was taken down really fast again. Same goes for example for Chris Chibnall from Doctor who, who - during a SDCC Twitter takeover - posted a photo of Jodie Whitaker and Alex Kingston with the caption: the doctor and her wife. The tweet was down after one minute. BBC replaced the tweet with a new tweet using the same photo but another caption (source: an interview chibnal gave a while ago. I can dig out out again if you want).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why? Because those stories and tweets where against the rules of the network. Or look at shadow and bone. The main BTs content we get is from the official Instagram page. The photos we get from the cast is mostly off set. So a cast posting BTS pictures like crazy, showing all the magic is a horrible sign. So the cast stopping to post BTS pics doesn’t mean the are out of content but under new NDAs.
3. official content
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a fan myself I also always enjoy the chaotic BTS content by cast and crew but what we want now is official content! Aarons photos are approved BTS photos. Same goes for the question video Rhys and Taika took part in. HBO delivering this content is a good sign. HBO now taking care of the content instead of the cast is what makes a renewal more likely. But we should be careful with that. For the irregulars, Netflix also had an Instagram account they put a lot of dedication into it. They posted all the content, shut the account down and cancelled the show. So posting content is =/= a renewal but content hyping the fans up is good!
4. the show being highest in demand for five weeks
Tumblr media
HBO max is a really new channel, not establish in every country yet and already suffering from a merge. What they need is show that binds viewers. OFMD is hardly suited to be cool edgy brand like GOT or Euphoria and it will never be. Nevertheless people want another season like crazy. Such a high demand for a show that is not even aired in most of the world? HBO knows most of us are watching it illegally. But they are used to it. The finale GOT season was the most illegal streamed show ever. They used that for their marketing. Because it shows that the content is desired. And HBO max is still to be rolled out in other countries. So putting a show up there which is wanted (and already watched) in most of the world is good for them. They instantly have something to promote the channel with. And as bonus, we are doing the free advertisement with all our posts and artworks. There was the same situation for Miss Sherlock which also aired on HBO (HBO Asia). HBO Asia even made a Twitter video saying: we now added Miss Sherlock on HBO international. So please no illegal streaming anymore. Okay? 😉“ they also picked up on the Johnlock tag #watolock. That shows that they have a really good social media team which is really aware if everything going on. Miss Sherlock was cancelled nevertheless, but the show was closed in the first season and today I would assume it was because of Yukos mental health. RIP.
Or look at Paramount+ which keeps on greenlightning seasons for Star Trek discovery even though season 1 heavily suffered. Why? Because they needed (and still need) content for their streaming service. HBO max is young. They need content and viewers
Edit: as a bonus a official HBO interacted with that tweet. Giving us even more official HBO tweets about OFMD in the last week
Tumblr media
5. Jenkins saying he thinks the show can be closed in three seasons
Tumblr media
I know this interview is from March but What Jenkins did here was really clever. He straight up said HBO his conditions here.
We all want more seasons and I deeply miss the time where we got 22 eps per seasons, but Jenkins set up a really realistic frame here. I have a slight feeling, that if we get a renewal it will be like Sandition where Season 2 and 3 where announced at the same time. And HBO max also know it works. Two more seasons. If they are filmed back to back that means three more years if content. Perfect for HBO max. Not too much but also not too little
6. this tweet I found and interacted with on Twitter
Tumblr media
This is good sign. Like I already said: HBO max is new. They can not cancel shows like crazy like Netflix does. HBO max needs the content. So your show has to perform really bad to get cancelled. We do not have the insights but OFMD is doing the exact opposite. It is performing really good. And for after the merge, and possible changes on the website, they need a high demand content so people stick around. Which will be if course euphoria and maybe OFMD
Bonus: 6. HBO added official verified OFMD on twitter to use
Tumblr media
Just recently, this weekend HBO added official HBO max verified gifs to use on twitter. You can see the logo. This is also a good sign, because they told an employee to use his/her paied time for OFMD.
So i can not say if a renewal is near or not but those are the signs you should pay attention to.

i have a question 🤔 what are your personal favorites fics you've written, like out of all the fics you've written, what is your absolute favorite? in terms of the story, or process, anything! i'm curious to know 🥹🫶🏻
also this is my formal application to be one of ur anons LOL idrk what it entails but i like the thought of having an emoji for when i send u asks and such
i wish to be 🌙 anon if that is okay 🥹💛
i answered this before here but now i'll explain with the reasons why, thank you for asking! and it's so tough to choose a personal fav out of all of them 😭 i'll go with these 2:
Take Me Home: i guess this might be my 1st bc it was my first fic, first series, first attempt at worldbuilding and i really think i can't write sth like that again. i went crazy with the plot twists and planning, i wrote 150k words in like 3 months (it was covid and uni break) but it was an interesting headspace to be in lmao. i could still write a fic for the rest of the members in that lore One Day At A Time: idk what took over me when i wrote that, but i really wanted to talk about grief and moving on, accepting love when you've just lost it, and the whole process of it. tho i haven't experienced this myself, a lot of ppl do, and their strength is always so admirable. really wanted to write sth like that and this one came so naturally!
these two are the ones really close to my heart 🥹 with take me home i'm attached bc it's the beginning of my career here lmao but with odaat, it's more sentimental. i often reread it when i'm stuck 🥹
and yes, you can be 🌙 anon! there's no process and you don't have to have an emoji/name if you don't want to, it's just that if you come here often and want me to remember you, there's no way for me to know who you are unless you sign your anon msgs. thank you for being so sweet about it 🫶

i decided to rewatch the odaat reboot and damn i knew way more spanish the last time i watched it. i’m still mad i had to drop spanish in high school because the teacher was ableist and awful
like i know there’s a joke in what they’re saying in spanish. i know i knew what they were saying when i first watched it. but they’re saying it too fast and the captions only say “speaking spanish” when they speak spanish. like would it kill them to write out what they’re saying. not even translate it. just don’t write “speaks spanish” like yeah no shit they’re speaking spanish. i have auditory processing issues i can’t tell what they’re saying. that’s why i have captions on.

1. My fave fic of yours: One Day at a Time. It's a goddamned masterpiece.
6. Something I remember vividly from one of your fics: The scene from The Hooksborough Demon where MC watches the footage Yoongi shot of the two of them having afternoon sex at the hotel while Jimin was out for a swim. That scene will just randomly flash across my mind like a ray of afternoon sun.
8. What I like most about your writing: Your use of the senses to bring the reader into the scene. It makes the experience of reading your work so intense and the stories and characters memorable AF.
13. If I've ever shared/talked about your fic with someone: Was talking to a friend of mine about your use of scent in ODAAT. Can't get over it won't get over it.
Love you!!! 😘😘😘
VIOLET MY LOVELYYYY 😍🥺💝
ONE DAY AT A TIIIIMEEEE!!!!!
Tumblr media
anything for those kings. anything at all. i love them and i miss them. ugh ugh ugh. i need to write more a/b/o asap. the use of scent in that one went hard lmaooooo.
HAHA i am so glad that the motel smut scene from Hooksborough haunts your mind. not gonna lie, i thought you were going to cite the heart of intestines scene because those are the most popular. glad the more lowkey smut scene also made an impact on someone. i liked writing that one!!!
i'm so glad you enjoy the use of senses. 🥰🥰🥰 i am very sense-sensitive (sense-itive???) so i experience a lot through smell and sight especially, and when a story is missing some of those key sensations i feel kinda lost in the scene and struggle to imagine it.
EEEEEEEEEEEE I LOVE YOUUUUU thank you so much for chatting about why you love me so much (lmaoooo) i adore youuuu!!!!! 💜
talk to me, anons! 💌

i'm not gonna lie and say that i am hopeful that some other network could pick up the show and produce another season or whatever like happened many times before with lucifer b99 manifest wynonna odaat and shit.
no i am not hopeful I'm way far from that actually. all i feel now is pain and disgust, especially knowing they didn't have the intention to renew it in the first place, they just cancelled like it was nothing and it didn't mean nothing to anybody.
i keep thinking about the cast, especially simon and the room writers. this show was his baby, you could see and FEEL how much love he put into it, how much he cares about his audience. HOW MUCH HE LOVES WORKING HARD IN THIS SHOW. me in his place i would be completely wrecked, way more than i am now.
i keep thinking about Alba, she had a horrible past few weeks i can't even imagine the pain she went through and now this. she came back to twitter just to leave a little message for us, she didn't have to do that because we all understand if she didn't say nothing about it, but she did. And KTY, this girl woke up one day and decided to do all the promotion work, she went herself to find people to do interviews, she started the fight. this is how much she cares. all of this cast man 😭 they really care about this show, is something just as special for them as it is for us. they don't deserve this treatment from that company. that company should be thanking them. it's just an infuriating situation, the more i think about the more my heart breaks for it.
so no, right now i can't be hopeful or positive about anything. I need time, we spent days and nights fighting and it all meant nothing. i will probably take a time off, try to process this. I've never felt so much pain in my life because of a tv show, this was worse than Lexa, worse than Killing Eve finale, worse than anything.

2023 Movie Journey #9: 80 For Brady
Tumblr media
80 for brady. this movie was a delight, though not in a way that feels like i would watch it again. partly that’s because the plot is exactly what it says it is, it’s a story about a group of senior friends who are obsessed with football. and so even though i was pleased that it had a happy ending and i love the cast, i just don’t enjoy sports enough to make this a new fave.
i had to think about that, and i’ve come to the conclusion that it’s because this movie was the rare one i’ve watched that makes the sports at least as important as the comedy. whereas tv shows i adore like ted lasso and a league of their own used sports as the device for moving the plot along--those shows were primarily about the characters and their relationships and they were fully dramatic comedies.
compared to that (the version of sporting storytelling i like, it turns out) this movie was literally produced by tom brady. it has other famous players in it, too, and not just as cameos. the women in this movie do have lives beyond football, but this point of this adventure is that they run away from those lives temporarily to experience the superbowl. and through hijinks and movie magic, they get to be part of football history in their own small way, before they go back to the lives we’ve barely seen them living in their ordinary day-to-day.
so basically, it really is a fun romp, but now that i know what happens in it i don’t think i’d have as much fun if i saw it again because there’s just so much football. lol. great for football fans, i’m sure! alas i am not one of them.
however, i am a huge fan of lily tomlin and jane fonda and any project that puts lily tomlin with jane fonda, and i also love rita moreno. i feel like lily and jane are reliably good in this, i expected nothing less than comedic perfection from them. and while i also grew up with sally field to an extent, she’s not someone i’m obsessed with so i enjoyed her too in a more moderate way. it’s like, she’s good at comedy, so i knew she would be and she was, but this movie is really in-the-zone for all of its stars--it doesn’t give them things to do that they can’t handle easily.
which brings me to rita moreno! she was possibly the most fun part for me to watch in this simply because i know her from one day at a time, a bit of grace and frankie and multiple versions of west side story. even though odaat is a comedy, it’s a very specific kind that involves a lot of sincerity and tears and never too much snark. and she got to be a sort of moral center of the new west side story (she definitely made me cry) with some gentle humor there too.
but this is a much different kind of funny, ranging from broad physical comedy to drug humor and going-against-expectations jokes, especially regarding the characters’ ages. i never would’ve doubted that rita moreno could be good at that, because she is immensely talented. she’s an icon for a reason.
and that’s what made her role in this so interesting for me. because watching her go from other movies and shows to this, even when they’re all comedic...it’s like i can see the acting. not in a bad, ‘this seems fake’ sort of way. but like, i saw how she would play a character like lydia, in the world of odaat, and how she would be funny that way when funny was called for. and then watching this, where they’re asking her to play high or dance like she can’t actually dance, i could see her being funny in this slightly different, specific-to-this-story way.
it just made me appreciate her even more, because it reminded me that her work is a craft; with somebody who’s that iconic and talented i can expect the best from them and not always catch them working. but here, i can picture it like a dial she twists just a bit in a different direction so that embodying this character is distinct from embodying other characters she’s played, no matter how much they have in common. and that’s especially cool because this could be a movie she simply took on to have fun, an easy paycheck and a good time with the rest of the cast. but it doesn’t feel like that. it feels like she took this as seriously as everything else she does, and that’s what has stuck with me (so many months after actually seeing it, now that i’m finally writing this review).
billy porter was a fun part of this movie, too, though a brief one. mostly i’m just glad they assembled a great central cast, didn’t have anything too bad happen to them, and let them play. if you haven’t seen it, i would recommend it as a lighthearted watch.
