theres so many ways to write how jmart interact off-mic in season 1, but my lowkey favorite is “jon genuinely doesn’t realize what a huge asshole he’s been and thinks he and martin have ‘professional differences.’ he sees no reason they cant be friends right up until martin is like ‘you literally wished i was dead’“

_Beloved family snow days where Michael is practically spherical with how many layers they've got him wrapped in and Ranboo is wearing water-protection enchanted armor made by Tubbo himself and they have a full-on snowball battle and for once growing up on a battlefield just means Tubbo can absolutely *pelt* his husband with the biggest snowball known to man and get away unscathed

For a hot second I thought you were saying that you’d trapped a giant egyptian queen killing venomous snake under a paper cup
whoever decided to name the larvae form of the southern flannel moth an “asp” definitely just spent several hours writhing in immense pain after picking one up, but at least they still had a good sense of humor about it
(iydk: Texas has a type of fuzzy tree caterpillar called an “asp.” If you touch one or (worse) pick one up, you will receive a sting that’s so intensely painful, many people immediately go into shock. It feels a bit like somebody whacking your hand with a red-hot iron at 100mph, instantly shattering every bone in your arm)

sometimes i come to the startling realization that i am. capable of choosing my own directions.
#the magician cries#larkspur will write later#do not mind me i am having feelings again and always#there is both comfort and devastation in knowing you control the bubble of who is in your life#it is simply the maintaining of those ties that exhausts me#there is too much#and i am too much for most of the ones considered obligatory#this is not to say i want to cut them out entirely. i am beyond the white hot rage of 22-24#i am beyond the despair of my late teens#there is still anger there#there is the sting of ‘we’ve decided not to tell grandpa’#the backhanded ‘oh i like xxx better’ and ‘i’m glad it’s small’#the crushing weight of ‘it does not matter what you change’#and the untouchable guilt mixed with irritation of watching someone who caused you genuine pain become BETTER#and not being able to reconcile within yourself the fact that they are making an effort to be in your life again#these are not all about the same person#my family ties and complicated and painful and i don’t treat them often with the care that i should#but how can i#i was raised to be quiet and self sufficient#and now i am demonized for not reaching out when there is nothing i need from the people who were supposed to raise me#who treat my brother like he is incapable of the same level of thought as me just because he was born with a d!ck#who act like i am trying to hurt everyone by being myself#or that he is trying to hurt everyone by trying to forge his own life#we are the angel children turned ungrateful adults#the safe space for the younger cousins. the first to leave on holidays. the last to arrive.#i want it to be easy#but it never fucking is

While you guys were arguing about summer on the basis of temperature, I was busy studying the blade (fighting tarantula hawks).

You know, looking at my top surgery scars, I can't help but thinking Anakin's eye scar would've also taken at least 3-4 years or so- canonically longer than he even had it before getting Vader'd- to get flexible enough to really move with the skin and muscles around it. The inflexible scar would cause a kind of mild daily soreness and probably a pulling sensation whenever he made certain facial expressions.
Based on that, he might've had an intermittent sensation of rawness or a vague, deep ache in the scar itself, small patches of numbness in nearby facial areas, random stinging and burning pains that came and went, random tingling sensations etc.
Those symptoms are like 99% gone for me now but they took 4 years, and since the concentration of nerves that close to the eye is probably insane, and the skin is pretty thin for the depth of the scar, might have taken longer- especially with the nerves being burnt, not cut.

it's actually really weird to me that a lot of adults don't seem to remember the worst bits of being a child. were you not horribly aware of when adults were talking down to you as a child? don't you remember how little autonomy you were allowed, even when it came to things that seemed pretty harmless? don't you remember the times when adults would seemingly be assholes to you for no reason? even if you had nice and reasonable parents, didn't you ever have teachers or other adults in power who treated you disrespectfully? didn't it sting no matter how people justified it?
especially when I was a teenager, it seemed obvious to me & to most of my peers when an adult wasn't treating us with respect. you could almost smell it, in certain classrooms. there would be this palpable, shifting undercurrent of teenage dissatisfaction whenever some teachers started talking. and it made a lot of the kids act out! which of course made the teachers try to exert their power, which never worked because nobody respected them, which made them get more draconian, etc.
as a teen, I didn't really get why my peers and I seemingly had a superhuman sense for when an adult was on a power trip. but now I think I get it. kids are systematically denied autonomy, respect, and consistently have the validity of their experiences denied. like, flat-out. they're a vulnerable class of people made even more vulnerable by their lack of societal rights. being disrespected as a kid is so frequent that I would say it's a defining experience for most children. is it any wonder they tend to pick up on when an adult doesn't see them as worth listening to?
so yeah, of course a ton of kids want to be treated "like an adult." to them, that's synonymous with being treated like a human being worth listening to. it's up to you, as an adult, to understand that wish for what it is, and behave accordingly. you don't gotta be a child psychologist. you don't gotta be perfect at it. all you have to do is remember how painful adult disrespect could be when you were a kid & do your best to act with some compassion.

PSA for trans people, trans mascs and fems, and enbies & intersex folks on T or E injections (or injections in general):
Your injections should AT WORST feel like a hard pinch if you hit a vein on accident. It should NOT sting the whole time, itch, be tender for more than a day, and should not cause significant bruising. (Edit!: This is the weekly injections, the monthly or longer lasting injections are sore for a while because the liquid is THICC.)
I was not told this when I started, and missed that I was allergic to my shots for the first 2 months I was on T. There is more than one type of carrier oil, and the type of T they prescribe most often is more likely to have allergic reactions (cypionate with cottonseed oil). You should not have to suffer more just to get your gender juice. You can also gain allergies over time, so if you start experiencing these symptoms, check in with your doctor!
(Another Edit: PLEASE talk to your doctor before assuming stuff, I'm just a guy on the internet trying to make sure that y'all have more info.)
Tips for less painful/irritated injections I've gotten from people (all anecdotal, again, check with your doc):
-Intramuscular injections are usually less likely to be irritated than subcutaneous ones.
-Lightly wiping down the needle you are going to inject with with some rubbing alcohol before injecting. (Make sure it dries)
-Rub VERY hard with your alcohol wipe before injecting to numb up the skin a little bit.
-Make sure to rub the vial between your hands to warm it before using the draw up needle. It makes the fluid less thick, so it’s less painful to inject.
(I'll add more if people share)
