Lightlight Headcanon (never thought I'd do this)

I HAVE A LIGHTLIGHT (Wylie x Rayni) HEADCANON!!!!!!!

Tam was the first to notice it. He notices the pink cheeks and awkward smiles. He notices how Rayni gets softer around Wylie (and she NEVER gets 'softer' around anyone). He notices Wylie defending Rayni more, going against Linh who he usually sided with.

And obviously, he gets his revenge (both of his older siblings tease Tam constantly because of his 'intense liking' to a teal eyed brunette girl *cough cough Biana cough*), and gives them a taste of their own weapon.

Hence, the teasing and being make fun of.

very random question, but I was thinking about it, so: where did gethen get the dog in book 1? like did he just steal someone's dog? does one of the neverseen have a dog he borrowed (really would like to know how THAT conversation went down, "hey can I borrow your dog for an expedition to the forbidden cities, no not for anything specific, i just want to walk your dog" "gethen my dog HATES you")? or does he actually have a dog of his own who just. really doesn't like him.

If he stole it, did the dog ever get back to its owner or did he bring it back? Is there just a human-world dog wandering around the Neverseen bases?

Do elves have dogs? (Do they have any normal pets? We see a lot of fantastical animals, what about non-fantastical ones?)

The implication seems to be that Gethen stole the dog from a nearby human residence, since it gave him so much trouble. Though technically we can't definitively rule out the alternatives. I'd assume he'd simply let the dog go once he was out of sight, and whether or not it got safely home wasn't his concern; if it was another elf, I'd say their value of animals and life would spur them to return it themselves, but this is Gethen.

As for the normal pet thing, we see a similar situation with food. The elves have this vast array of fruit, but not a single one is familiar. They've never heard of an apple or grape or kiwi or anything Sophie would know. They also don't have any typical pets or animals.

The artistic purpose is to alienate Sophie and emphasize how different and unfamiliar everything is, how out of place she feels despite belonging and how much she has to learn. We can also, however, ration it out within the story; in terms of dogs, why would elves have dogs? I'm no expert, but I believe the general thought is that humans domesticated dogs for hunting, and elves simply don't hunt. They don't need them; and they didn't need to domesticate the fruits humans have because they have their own.

Of course that's just for dogs and other animals would need to be evaluated on a case by case basis, but a lot of the elves' work with animals is preserving the ones in danger. That's why there's more fantastical creatures; things like cats and horses don't need their attention. Murcats and cockatrices do.

Anyway, back to your point, I Shannon meant for Gethen to steal the dog since elves don't have them :)

uhh idk if u ship this, but there's been a vague uptick in people liking keefex, so keefex for number 4?

Please bear in mind that this is literally the first fic I’ve ever written, so I’m open to constructive criticism!

Keefe sighed, staring at his alarm clock waiting for it to go off. Due to nightmares about Mother Dearest, he had woken up at the ungodly hour of 3:16 AM. And he had been awake since then, drawing various versions of periwinkle blue eyes that he could never seem to get out of his head. Eventually, the multiple hand cramps he’d gotten made him give up. So here he was, lying in bed a 3:55 AM, waiting until the clock said it was go-time.

Okay, maybe he was sulking a bit, too.

However, he told himself to stop feeling sorry for himself, and instead focus on the prank that would make the Great Gulon Incident look amateur. There really was nothing to focus on now, however, as it had been planned weeks in advance. All that he really had to worry about now was putting on black clothes, getting his end of the supplies packed up, and getting to Foxfire. “Screw this”, he muttered to himself. He turned off the alarm clock so his dad wouldn’t wake up when it DID eventually go off, dressed in all black, threw a backpack over his shoulder, and leaped to Foxfire. Dex wouldn’t mind if he was a little early, right?

When the glitter from the leap faded, Keefe saw the colorful pyramid that was Foxfire Academy. He pulled his backpack off of his shoulders and dug around for the keys that would open the back doors. Finally finding them, he started his trek to the back of the school, looking for any devices that might see him. He knew he didn’t have to look out for anything, however, because Dex had his back. Before he went to sleep, he programmed all motion-sensory devices to see the Foxfire grounds untouched like they were every night. Maybe Keefe was just so used to doing things like this by himself without amazingly talented and cute Technopaths.

He entered the key into the keyhole and just as he was about to open the door-

“BOO!” A familiar voice said exclaimed, Keefe sprang away from the door and screeched a sound that sounded like how a murcat might scream if they had voices. When he regained something close to composure, his vision was met with Dex Dizznee, his boyfriend, trying to keep himself upright from the laughter.

“Traitor!” Keefe insisted, trying to get his usual swagger back. “If this is betrayal, I’ll never stop doing it, that was the best thing I’ve EVER seen!” Dex countered through giggles. Keefe rolled his eyes, pretending to be annoyed instead of obsessed with Dex’s laugh. He knew he didn’t have to pretend, as it was just the two of them, but old habits die hard.

Then Keefe got an idea. And his ideas were always the best, right?

When Dex finally quit giggling, Keefe pounced on him and smashed their lips together. Dex made a startled noise in the back of his throat, but then started giggling while sinking into the kiss. Eventually, Keefe started laughing right along with him. Dex’s laughter was infectious. Keefe pulled away eventually, deciding his revenge tactic was unsuccessful.

“Why is my revenge so funny to you?” Keefe asked, in a fake accusatory voice. “Oh nothing, I was just thinking about that talk you gave to me yesterday about not getting distracted during the prank.” Dex said through giggles. Well, he had Keefe there. “Yeah, yeah, let’s go in and get started before all of the Lost Cities hears you.” Keefe bantered. “If that screech of yours hasn’t already woken everybody up.” Dex muttered, but Keefe heard. Keefe didn’t mind. He knew he’d do anything to get Dex to laugh like that again. However, Keefe and Dex were on a mission to make the most unforgettable prank ever. So maybe he wouldn’t have to wait so long for Dex to laugh again, as when the staff and prodigies came, they would get quite the show.

Anyway so it's a Camp AU and Sophie, Fitz, and Keefe are all Counselors of different cabins. Keefe and Fitz have both been there for three summers, and Sophie's a newbie this summer and is actually replacing her sister.

The camp is called Camp Alluveterre, and there are a total of five cabins. Each cabin is run by at least one councilor, but some of them are run by two. Each year the cabins aren't just places to sleep, but also quite competitive to try and win at all of the different activities. The counselors only encourage this behavior, because they're all insanely competitive (more so then the majority of the campers).

The cabins are:

Moonlark Cabin: Co-run by Counselors Marella Redek and Sophie Foster

Dragon Cabin: Run by Counselor Fitz Vacker.

Murcat Cabin: Co-run by Linh Song and Tam Song

Sophie's the New Guy In Town, and has no idea what's happening, but pretty much the rundown is:

-Everyone except Sophie has been going to this camp for the past 7 years, and all of the campers who aren't new here know that there is a LOT of relationship drama going on.

-Both cabins joke that Keefe and Fitz are in love, and they decide to play along. However, they're now actually starting to catch feelings and this is a Very Bad thing because they're best friends and what if they ruin it?

-Biana and Tam are actually terrifyingly competitive. It's actually scary. They hate each other's guts and they both have a title won from best cabin, this is the tie breaker. But something's...different this year. They're falling in love, but don't worry! Both of them are too prideful to admit it.

-Linh and Marella are both literally the most oblivious pining lesbians and both of their cabins are DYING. Because they're literally crushing so hard on each other but Linh's not catching on to Marella flirting and Marella isn't realizing she's flirting...it would be too bad if someone were to...forge a love letter...

-Sophie's first day comes around and it's already a disaster because of the shit mentioned above. She's a little overwhelmed and has some big shoes to fill (and maybe a love letter to help the campers forge). But then, she finds out that Cabin Kraken is known for pranking...the hard way.

-She ends up getting a bloody nose in the chaos of trying to calm her campers down and is livid at Keefe because "what on earth would make him think this was a good idea?" But Keefe is really really apologetic and walks her to Elwin's cabin and introduces himself.

-Then a week later she has to Co-Captain a team with Fitz for capture the flag but oh no he's so pretty wtf she's in love with two camp counselors and it turns out that they've been DATING for three years but oh they're so smart and funny and...

Anyway, everything is actually a disaster and no one knows what's going on. Y'know, keeper style.

☆Dawn, Charri and Adalin Hcs☆

Charri has round glasses that she can not see shit without. Dawn has broken them multiple times and Charri’s mum is always pissed

Not a soul knows where Charri’s dad is. Not even Charri’s mother. But he is probably the reason Charri has an ability after her family being talentless for centuries

When Adalin first invited Dawn and Charri over to his house his dad hated the girls. He soon learned to hate Dawn but love Charri and her sense of responsibility

Dawn has a collection of pins she has pinned to her messenger bag. Charri and Marella gave her all these pins over the years

Adalin is so clumsy. Charri has given up and literally carried him bridal style through the halls once. Adalin was a flushing mess afterwards

Dawn has been manifesting with full on crystals and witchcraft stuff desperately trying to get Adalin and Charri together

Adalin definitely fell when they first meet. Charri only started to like him after their first kiss. His excuse for the kiss was “he needed to learn how to kiss just in case”

Charri smells like cherries. Adalin claims that her lips taste like cherries too. Dawn refuses to believe it

Dawn is a lovesick lesbian. When she first started liking this girl Charri could tell instantly. Adalin was too blind to notice. She always has been a chaotic lesbian and is the reason Marella came out to her friends. Dawn also has a lesbian pin as apart of her infamous pin collection she has on her bag

Charri is definitely bisexual. She had a crush on Dawn at some point, then even Marella when she first saw her

Charri is Asexual and Bisexual. Dawn gave her hair pins with both of the flags on them she keeps them pinning back her hair at all times. If you look close enough her glasses have the bi flag on the inside of the temples

Adalin is also Pansexual. None of these kids are hetro. He pained the clasp of his registry pendant to have the pan flag on it. Dawn was to proud when she spotted it. His father less so and Adalin got grounded for a month.

Adalin getting grounded also happened one week into Adalin and Charri dating. Charri spent her nights crying herself to sleep about not being able to see him. His father not even letting him go to school.

The girls thought that Adalin was gay when they first meet him. They claimed he just had the vibe but he is actually pansexual

Charri has a pet Murcat called Astro. She got the money to get him by tutoring kids before that are Foxfire levels while she as in level 1 and 2. She got astro during level 3

Dawn and Charri first hated each other so much. They meet each other through Marella some how. Marella just tripped over Charri’s foot one day then introduced her to Dawn.

Adalin has curly hair and extremely light freckles. He has been caught twisting a coil of hair around his finger once. Dawn wishes she had a camera for that moment
