Asana: You know, studies show that keeping a ladder in the house is more dangerous than a loaded gun. Haruka: That's why I own TEN guns. Haruka: Just in case some maniac tries to sneak in with a ladder.

Does someone have a screencap of Asana standing next to one of the other Sevens "leads" (Yuga, Gakuto, Luke, Romin, Roa, or Neil). I need it for drawing reference because I'm drawing them all standing together and can't find a good ref for how tall Asana is in relation to the others.

Once upon a time, there was a most industrious kingdom. It sold products far and wide, from the crops they gathered to the harnesses they used upon the backs of cows to harvest the crops. Books and the machinery to ink them and print them. Everything and anything and thus, money flowed well and prosperity endured and peace followed.
So when it was announced that the King and Queen, after long suffering stints of infertility, had finally been blessed with a child, excitement was poised to erupt throughout the kingdom. Grand celebrations were on the cusp of unfurling, like banners and ribbons, a storm brewed.
In all their pursuit of innovation, onwards and upwards, with metal beams that reached towards the skies and manpower that revolutionised, a more metaphysical approach to work and environment was neglected. And thus, the storm which brewed darkened the clouds and the atmosphere, from it a clan of six children of the gods were called and they descended upon the land of this once prosperous kingdom.
They ruined crops. Burned them, drowned them. They ruined roads. Caused earthquakes and tornados. And all underneath a blackened sky and when lightning struck, it blinded.
The King and Queen ordered a court with these destructive forces and, surprisingly, they did adhere. The ruin in their wake eased up just long enough for them to have an audience with the King and Queen who had so displeased them in their lack of worship and their overproduction of industry.
The youngest of this clan, a small blonde boy, pointed at the King and Queen with one hand and in the crook of his arm, he kept a puppet flush against his body, hugging it. It was not they who were on trial in front of an audience of importance but them.
“I declare a curse. Your unborn daughter will be fated to marry a horrible creature with feathers and claws, or else your kingdom will succumb to ruin. Prevent as you may but that will just hasten the demise of your prosperity.”
His words were accompanied by thunder and lightning. They boomed and deafened the castle and then, in a flash, he and his siblings were gone but not their effects. They lingered and they would prove to only strengthen over the years.
Despite the seeming youth of the godchildren, the King and Queen found it unwise to disbelieve their curse.
Their daughter was born, however, a month later and unharmed. She was a bright and cheerful child, from the minute she was born. Screaming and crying, joyous in her misery, with dark skin and silver hair. She was named Asana and she was now the Princess of the Mutsuba Kingdom: both their emblem, and their downfall if the prophecy was proven.
However, despite the mixture of fortunes that she was born into, Princess Asana soon became a charming young girl who would be primed to one day take over the kingdom. Even at the age of six, Princess Asana had intelligence beyond her years and seemed relatively aware that she was the centre of quite a spectacle, even apart from her royal lineage. She was beloved but she was humble about it, wanting to learn more and do her best.
Thus, when that fateful day in the snow arrived, she blinked owlishly. She was still just a child, and one of a fearful prophecy, as well. Those words of warning echoed in her ears. Feathers and claws but he didn’t seem all that horrible. She pushed more snow out of the way and freed a child about her own age from underneath it. He was not the boy she was looking for but perhaps he was.
“Are you okay?” Princess Asana asked as she extended a hand to wing.
“I am now.” the boy replied. He had fluffy purple hair and big, golden eyes, he extended his wing in return of Princess Asana’s kindness but her junior lady in waiting had returned.
It was her, Haruka, brother that they were looking for in the snow around the enormous courtyard of the castle, so big it could be a forest in of itself. She screamed.
“Asacchi, get away!” Lady Haruka bellowed as she tore up through the snow, running.
It flung everywhere and she kicked the boy to his face. Princess Asana gasped, covering her mouth with her hands as she watched her best friend chase off the poor, beleaguered boy. He squawked and flapped and he managed to get away, taking off into the sky and flying off.
Lady Haruka huffed, hands on her hips, “Asacchi,” she scolded her friend, “you must be more careful. I would hate to see harm ever come to you and the prophecy, please, be more sensible in the future.”
Though, sensibility would not need to be practised. Lady Haruka, doing the right thing in her own mind, of course reported this incident to Princess Asana’s parents. They were horrified that their daughter had come so close to meeting her fate and they just would not have it. So, to protect her, they sent her away to her grandfather’s estate.
There, she would be protected. Never to come down from an ivory tower.
It was in the top of such a place that Princess Asana received her lessons and her daily bread. Princess Asana enjoyed the view, the wide blue skies and green grass below. The views were endless but that vast was lonely, just her and her grandfather for miles.
Now, Princess Asana logically did not mind this precaution. She did not very much want to grow up and marry a monster either but worry still stayed in her mind. Even though her best interests were at heart. She loved her parents though her grandfather was her favourite relative. He had such a cheery smile, even in such dour circumstances as they received news of what was happening below.
News was frequently of natural disasters. Rivers that would dry up one year only to flood the next. Faminies which ensued in the wake. It broke Princess Asana’s heart but on her occasional visits, the only good news she would receive away from her Kingdom, Lady Haruka assured her that all was well. Her people were resilient but Princess Asana wanted to believe there was more to what she could do than just hope and pray for their best.
She was their princess, yet she was locked up like a prisoner. She wished there was something she could do. There had to be more to that prophecy than what met the eye. Both her grandfather and her lady in waiting would praise her for having such a kind but practical heart but she mattered to them and none wanted her to marry a horrible beast with claws and feathers. So, for this era, they would just have to endure.
Though Princess Asana was not content with that. She never expressed it but she was quite certain it was known, nonetheless. And so, Princess Asana came to age with that desire in her heart, all whilst overlooking the forest of her country, underneath swooping blue skies, fluffy white clouds. Idyllic compared to what awful things happened just out of sight, sights she had not seen since she was a child.
And yet the very solution to the problems which Princess Asana contended with need not to be solved by her head but rather by a birdbrain. It happened on a sparklingly normal day for her but Princess Asana had an unexpected visitor and thank goodness she had good reflexes or else the poor darling may have suffered.
As Princess Asana wrote in her journal her studies of astronomy and chemistry, she heard a commotion outside her window. Quite uncommon given how high up her tower was but she rushed to the window and just in time to almost fall out herself so she could grab this visitor by his lapels and haul him inside.
She was astounded by just what she saw. A horrible beast of feathers and claws. A harpy. Princess Asana blinked owlishly as the monster nattered in pain. A large, egg-shaped lump on his forehead, one that Princess Asana mended with a plaster from her first aid kit. He didn’t even protest as she pasted it onto his flesh wound, just a scratch.
“Are you okay?” Princess Asana asked.
“As well I can be… One day I will learn to look where I’m going…” the Harpy lamented but then he seemed to have a flash.
A moment of recognition. Even Princess Asana felt that wave of deja vu. She had a more proper look at him but he beat her to the punchline.
“We have really got to stop meeting this way.” the Harpy said, sheepish but laughing.
Princess Asana frowned, only to realise, she had seen those golden eyes before, that mop of floppy purple hair. She gasped, “You, the boy from the snow.” The very same snow which had balled up and ended her up in her castle in the first place.
“Haha, yeah, but it really is an honour to meet you again, I wanted to thank you. Another hour under all that snow and I would have been a goner. Thank you for finding me. My name is Chevelle and I’ve waited all my life to thank you for that.” the Harpy explained.
“I see.” Princess Asana replied and she felt her heart fluttered. “My name is Asana, I’m sorry my friend kicked you in the face.”
“It happens.” Chevelle shrugged, his wings shimmied slightly and they looked so soft.
Princess Asana’s eyes lit up and her hand instinctually reached forward before she paused herself. Chevelle noticed and smiled.
“Do you want to touch my wings?” he asked.
“They look so wondrous, I would like to. I’m weak to cute things.” Princess Asana replied.
“I don’t mind.” Chevelle said and he indicated his forehead. “I owe you a couple favours anyway.” He laughed.
Princess Asana laughed demurely with him. She was gladdened by the favour and her heart thumped in her chest as she touched Chevelle’s wings. They were just as soft as they looked, sleek too. She tried not to ruffle his feathers too much but the down underneath them were enticing. He had the wings and somewhat the body of a dove.
Chevelle chirped, appreciative, as Princess Asana showed him such affections. His chirps then gave way to birdsong and Princess Asana was astounded. He had the most lovely voice. She was entirely charmed by it, her harpy on the windowsill.
Neither she nor Chevelle, so enraptured in their own little world of having so much to catch up on and explore between themselves, didn’t even notice Princess Asana’s Grandfather come up the stairs. He paused and observed them, just long enough to see Chevelle’s feathers and the talons well below before he returned back down to the bottom chamber of the tower Princess Asana was forbidden from.
He returned a few hours later and the princess and the harpy were more than fast friends. Princess Asana had an announcement, one which poor Chevelle was very embarrassed by.
“Grandfather,” she announced, “I’m glad your here because I figured it out! The prophecy, that is. My hand is not doomed to a horrible beast with feathers and claws, it is blessed to Chevelle, a horribly treated beast with feathers and claws.”
Chevelle moaned miserably in the background. He was just a delivery harpy who had gotten lost. All this talk of fate and prophecy and marriage, it was a bit above him. Though he couldn’t say that he hadn’t been enamoured with Princess Asana since their fleeting first encounter so many years ago and even more so now after getting to know her.
“Think about it, when we first met, Chevelle was kicked in the face by my beloved Harucchi. And then when we meet again, he accidentally flew into the wall of the tower. I think if I marry him, I will fulfil the prophecy and prosperity will be returned to the Mutsuba Kingdom. I believe in this.” Princess Asana proclaimed and she placed her hand on Chevelle’s shoulder blade. “I believe in Chevelle.”
Princess Asana was certain in her budding love. A marriage arranged under the most dire of circumstances even before her birth but her shining eyes sealed her proclamation. So, her Grandfather gave his blessings but the tidings which returned when the news had reached her parents, they were not so thrilled.
   Not at first at least.
But then fertility returned to the soil. Bushfires quelled quietly, without seeming cause or reason. Good will was restored between ally kingdoms and trade began to pick up at racing speed. Diamonds and other ores were uncovered in mines that had been scantly producing. And all because wedding bells had tolled in the Kingdom of Mutsuba, between their princess and a harpy: a horribly treated creature of feathers and claws.

It’s not gonna fuggin’ happen but I’m begging Studio Bridge to show us her wife (Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! episode 12 spoilers)
Since Mutsuba Asana showed back up again this episode, I want her wife (Kamijou Haruka AKA ‘Tiger’) to show up in this series. Studio Bridge has the power to do this, and no good fuggin’ reason not to after laying all that subtext in the prequel series.

Asana roasting Roa went quite differently in the dub but it was still quite funny!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For people who haven't seen the sub, Roa hit on Asana here (in a pretty sleazy way) to which Asana pretty much destroyed him by translating R6's whirring into "I'm not someone who calls girls 'baby' because unlike you, I'm a gentleman," which felt pretty earned and hilarious.
In my head, Asana is making up what R6 is saying (at least in this scene) in both versions so the dub felt a little harsh since Roa didn't really do anything but Roa's no longer a creep in the dub so it evens out.

BEST YGO GIRL: Round 4, Group B
Match 1
Tumblr media
please use this as an opportunity to say why you like a character, not why you don't.
Propaganda under the cut!
Yuzu Hiragi
The entire show would not work if the cast wasn't obsessed with her, and they're all right to stan her, literally gets Sora and Serena to defect from Academia with her sheer charisma, beat Masumi at their gay little rivalry, Yugo spends a few days with her and is ready to die for her, Yuya is simply just the loudest about adoring her And why not? She is so clever and determined, doing the most work out of anyone to figure out the myth plot. Actively trains to keep up with the rest of cast. Even when the universe is conspiring against her and trying to keep her down, she fucking headbutts Roger and tells him off or manifests to help save the world in the ultimate girlboss team-up that was the Arc V finale. Truly any dimension without her is worth upending. - The mysterious magical bracelet that isekai's her to different worlds, the Can-Do attitude, the cool poses (fusion summoning), the ADORABLE character design, AND she was 1/4 of a world-saving hero in the past?? If it weren't for the meddling writers, she would have been the main character - yuzu is everything. literally the plot of arc v hinges on the fact everyone who meets her become just as obsessed with her. and they are totally right to do so
Asana Mutsuba
what the fuck how does she still not have propaganda. i have to do everything myself around here huh. okay i watched sevens after i started this tournament and asana is hands down one of my favorite characters. i love her development as she struggles between tradition and change and finding a good balance between the two. i love her relationship with tiger and her relationship with the rest of her dueling club. loved every second she was on screen.

played mobile Akinator (cause I don't have the app) and made him try to guess the main seven.
Yuga has been guessed 164 times.
He could not guess Luke.
Or Roa.
Or Romin.
Or Asana.
Or Nail.
Or Gakuto. (But Gakuto beat him so 🎉🎉🎉)
I didn't even bother with the non main characters (Ushiro, Getta, etc) because there's NO WAY IN HELL that any of them (no matter how much I love them) would be on the list.

There was something awry in the land of Mutsuba, Princess Haruka had learned through squire gossip.
The Princess by the name of Asana had gone missing and the Queen, her step-mother, kept going in and out of missingness all the same but she did not seem concerned for her ward. In fact, she seemed to be revelling in the fact that her nest had become so emptied - or so the rumours went.
Having a heart of steel and justice, Princess Haruka decided to investigate the rumour further. Thus, she took upon the secret identity of Tiger and donned the garb of a huntsman prince before descending upon her endangered neighbouring kingdom, leaving her little brother in charge and with a prayer that he wouldn’t screw anything up.
Being in the thick of the city in which the Mutsuba Kingdom’s capital resided, Tiger quickly learned that the rumours paled in comparison to the worry that the residents of Mutsuba had for their princess. Oh, she was beloved far and wide, not a poor word to be said about her. She was fair and generous, had a renowned kindness for those in poverty and for animals, too. And no one could understate her beauty either, apparently. Her hair was like that of a snow in winter’s dawn, a gorgeous sable and with eyes of sapphire blue to match, a complexion which was somewhat dark and without blemish. She was hailed as the most beautiful princess of all, both in her looks and in her soul.
However, the same could not be said of her step-mother the Queen. People spoke vilely of her and at first, it put Tiger on edge. She could never breathe a word ill of the dead, particularly her own parents, but they had good, virtuous reputations but the Queen of Mutsuba was everything her step-daughter was not. Selfish, of a dull, unsharpened mind, shoved all responsibility aside so she could wax and wane and pine in front of a silly little mirror. She shunned all and it was an apparent mystery how she had ever managed to wrap the former King - long live him, of course - around her pinkie finger after the death of his first wife, Princess Asana’s birth mother.
A woman who, to little surprise of Tiger’s, had passed away in suspicious circumstances but illness was illness, most figured. But maybe, just maybe, poison may have been involved but there was no evidence of such. There was, however, evidence of a miracle as she and the king had been struggling to conceive and their precious little Asana was born after such harried efforts. It would truly be a loss to the world if she was never recovered from wherever she was.
But, after a few days of regaling these tales and rumours, Tiger had come to a dead end. Whilst she had a clearer picture of the circumstances of the royal family of the Mutsuba Kingdom, there was still many unknowns in regards to the whereabouts of young Princess Asana. It was obvious to her that something had to have happened between Princess Asana and her step-mother but she could find no word as to what it was. Murder? Banishment? Something else entirely?
Tiger decided that she would trawl the outskirts of the city. She would only reveal her authority as Princess Haruka of the Kamijo Kingdom if she could prove that whatever foul end had befallen Princess Asana had happened in the castle but for now, she had an odd hunch that she ought to venture outwards. To find herself deep within the woods on the outskirts of the city, she was farewelled by city guards whom she had become quite friendly with in her investigation and kept going.
   Going.
Past mines which were well trawled and through deep, dark parts of the woods which were so heavily forested, it seemed not even animals dared to walk through them. Over the course of three days, Tiger camped and wandered through this part of the forest and mulled over her various theories on the disappearance of Princess Asana but what she found on the other side of this forest was the most peculiar of things.
She found a young woman encased in a glass coffin. At first, Tiger had thought the lady was sleeping before she drew closer and saw that no condensation discoloured the glass nor did her breast rise and fall with the steady rhythm of breathing. Tiger felt her heart twist and contort with grief for this unknown woman whose corpse looked immortal - immaculate - in its death.
She was the centrepiece of a funerary meadow which burgeoned with flowers of every breed and colour. She was well taken care of, honoured and dignified, but there was no headstone to mark whom she had been in life but it was obvious that she was loved by someone who cared for her even now.
Tiger stepped back out of courtesy and watched as two, small gentlemen laid fresh bouquets upon the top of the glass coffin she was encased in. Tiger was dry-eyed and hardy about it as she watched one - the younger of the two with fluffy, purple hair - sobbed and the other turned to her to explain. He held onto his hat to his chest with the sorriest, most pitiful expression Tiger had ever seen on, what she presumed to be, a middle aged man.
“It is rare to have visitors outside of our workforce,” he lamented, “but thank you for inquiring, this is our Lady Asana, our dutiful caregiver.”
Tiger’s eyes went wide. She didn’t say anything and simply allowed the grieving man to continue. He had such a fondness in his voice but spoke of her as though she were a normal woman and not of a heritage of grandeur and royalty.
“She cooked and cleaned for us miners whilst we worked hard for our jewels. The poor thing, we have no idea what happened to her, we came home one day and found her like this. We couldn’t bear to bury her but we had to do something so…”
“You did the right thing, I think.” Tiger told him, perhaps too fast, perhaps awkwardly.
   “Thank you, ma’am.” he replied.
“In fact, I am so moved by your story, may I please be allowed to give this lady a good night kiss?” Tiger asked.
“That would be kind of you, stranger.” he said, his eyes shiny and wet but hard to see with how his face was wrapped up in his side-burns.
Tiger nodded and with grace, she stepped forward and removed the top of the coffin. She dislodged it and placed it aside. She was surprised by the fragrance inside the coffin, of fresh flowers, the very ones that Princess Asana had been laid to rest in but even getting a closer look, Tiger couldn’t see an obvious cause of death.
At least she could be properly acknowledged once Tiger returned with news, she lamented as she leaned in for that good night kiss - even if it was the middle of the day. Tiger kissed her dainty lips and poured in her regrets, her grief for this young woman she had never known and she was kissed back.
A gasp followed and Princess Asana’s eyes opened. Tiger exclaimed, and stepped back, harrowed as she witnessed reanimation. Stiffly, Princess Asana awoke and her two gentlemen companions could hardly understand what they were witnessing either. The dead coming back to life and she had such a darling rose in either cheek as she took breath after breath, her own expression in confusion and frenzy, as though she had awoken from a bad dream.
“Galient? Chevelle?” she asked, bewildered. “What happened? Where am I?”
She appeared struck with mortality as she realised she was sitting inside of a glass coffin which bore flowers from her grievers, as few as they were. Then, she ended upon Tiger and probed her with just as much confusion.
“And who are you, young madam?” she asked, polite.
“I am Tiger but perhaps you have heard of me under another name, Princess Asana. I am Princess Haruka of Kamijo, when I heard of your disappearance, I thought to myself I must investigate and I thought I would be the bearer of bad news but it appears, I have done the impossible.”
   “Oh my…” Princess Asana exclaimed.
Her two companions guffawed and bucked, “Princess?!” Chevelle yelped. “I had no idea you were an actual princess.”
Princess Asana giggled demurely, “I could not tell you for fear of my life but it seems my carefulness was misplaced…” Her expression darkened. “An old woman came selling apples but I fear they were poisoned, she forced me to eat one and the last I recall all turns back. I suspect that woman may have been my step-mother in disguise.”
“Then I will see her evils brought to life, I can promise you that, Princess Asana.” Tiger announced and she put her fist to her breast with a thud, her expression was gravely serious.
“Thank you, Princess Haruka,” Princess Asana warmly replied, “as you were the one to dispel my step-mother’s curse, she is such a wicked witch and her heinous magics only undone by acts of true and fated love.”
Tiger blinked, taken aback, “Pardon?” she asked in a tiny voice.
“Help me to get down, please?” Princess Asana asked in lieu of elaborating like Tiger was hoping.
Still, being a chivalrous young woman, Tiger did oblige. She stepped up once more to the glass coffin and Princess Asana helped herself into Tiger’s arms. They were strong and firm, Tiger’s back was straight as she held Princess Asana in the bridal style, her legs idly kicking.
“So? Will you help me return to the castle and reclaim my birthright?” Princess Asana asked of her.
   “Of course.” Tiger replied.
“Good, for there will be handsome reward in store for you, a dowry at the very least, I will make sure of it.” Princess Asana teased her.
She leaned in and pecked Tiger’s cheek. Tiger felt herself blush but she could not turn down a princess in need as that would go against her self-imposed creed. One which did not ask for rewards in turn however, she would be willing to make an exception in this case, if all were to go well upon return. Tiger could already hear the wedding bells toll and the notes of happily ever after but she shouldn’t get ahead of herself when there was still an evil queen to vanquish.
