teacher's pets
by kissmysass
If there is one thing that Nanami hates more than being a jujutsu sorcerer it's being put in charge of other jujutsu sorcerers, especially two specific students that are too talented for their own good and too reckless to know better. But no one can say that he doesn't take his appointed jobs seriously even if he hates them.
So he's trying to teach these two idiots better manners and also some sense. But Gojo Satoru has never had anyone try to teach him anything because a prodigy is a prodigy and Geto Suguru might be more willing to learn but with Gojo by his side he's just as much of a menace. The two are often sent out together on missions, which is an exceedingly bad choice often made by the higher-ups. Why, you ask? Because they feed off each other's energy and when that energy is stupid then stupid things tend to happen and they tend to get in trouble.
Unfortunately, Nanami Sensei has one main rule. What is it?
Only good boys get rewarded and bad boys get to suffer.

Years & Years
It was a Saturday. Kento had decidedly taken the day off. He deserved it. He shaved, then pressed a hot washcloth against his face. He stood there for a while.
On days like this, he wished he'd quit being a sorcerer.
There was a knock at his door. He threw the washcloth into the laundry basket and opened the door. He almost instantly shut it when he saw Gojo, but he was not as strong as him. Gojo squeezed through like a cat.
"What are you doing today? Nothing! Go out with me!" Gojo said.
"No," Kento said.
Gojo grinned and looked around Kento's place, puckering his lips.
"You came in uninvited," Kento said.
"What's this?" Gojo opened a tin on the counter. "Ooh! Pumpkin bread!"
Kento sighed and snatched the tin away, but not before Gojo stole a slice. He was already chewing on it.
"Ryummy!"
Kento stood there, his lips pressed into a thin line. He sat down at the bar and opened the newspaper. Gojo wandered off into Kento's room.
"Don't go in there," Kento said. Gojo ignored him.
Kento was not faster than Gojo. Gojo was already pulling a shoebox out from underneath Kento's bed. Gojo straightened up, a shiver visibly going down his spine.
"Gojo-" Kento put a hand on Gojo's shoulder, but Gojo didn't respond.
Kento sighed. The shoebox was full of pictures from when they all went to school together. Pictures of them and Geto.
Gojo was completely frozen. Kento said nothing... what was there to say?
Gojo got up and left. Kento watched him. He sighed and put the shoebox away.
...
An hour later, Gojo came back. Kento opened the door for him, and he didn't come in.
"You had a crush on Suguru, Nanami?"
Gojo was grinning, but there was something about his voice that was offputting.
"That isn't funny," Kento said.
Gojo hugged Kento, and Kento pushed him off. Gojo looked surprised, but Kento knew he wasn't.
"Just come in," Kento said. Gojo smiled delightedly and sat on the couch, eagerly. He tapped his fingers on his black pants.
Kento sighed and sat next to him.
"You cherish our memories at school?" Gojo asked. Kento could tell it was genuine... it shocked him.
Kento flicked Gojo's ear. Gojo mewled in pain. "Don't be serious. It's weird," Kento said.
Gojo frowned and leaned his head against Kento's shoulder. "I can't be funny all the time."
"I know," Kento said.
"But, honestly... Do you cherish those memories?" Gojo said.
"Yes," Kento said. He watched Gojo take off his blindfold.
"You do?" Gojo said.
Kento nodded, tight-lipped.
"Then... maybe you don't hate me?" Gojo said.
"I don't hate you," Kento said. "You're annoying."
Gojo frowned. "That's not nice..."
"You know what isn't nice? Coming to my apartment uninvited. Looking through my stuff. Stealing my bread. You act like a child." Kento frowned at Gojo.
Gojo looked down... "Nanamin... I just want to spend time with you."
"What? So you can invade my privacy and steal my food?" Kento said.
"No!" Gojo yelled, angrily. He looked down immediately after, the corners of his mouth wiggling.
"Then what? You're always making fun of me. Pulling pranks on me," Kento said.
Gojo puckered his lips. He stared at the teal pillow on Kento's couch, and pet it. "I want to be here with you."
"Why? I don't understand," Kento said.
"Because... I like you," Gojo said. He smiled at the pillow sadly.
Kento wanted to be mad, but he knew Gojo wasn't lying. He sighed and hugged him. "But you can't flirt with me like a normal person?"
Gojo sniffled. His voice was shaking. "No... I'm not a normal person. I'm crazy. I have lots of issues."
"I know," Kento said. He stroked Gojo's hair. "I just thought... it was all jokes. You asking me out... Putting your arm around me. I thought you were making fun of me."
"For what? I like you. I wanted to be playful with you," Gojo said.
"Because you know I'm gay. And you'll think I'll be alone," Kento said.
"You're pretty stupid for a smart guy," Gojo said. He met Kento's eyes, smiling at him.
Kento leaned over and kissed Gojo on the lips. Gojo put his hands into Kento's hair, humming happily.
Gojo giggled and buried his red face into Kento's chest. He played with the buttons on his shirt. "So... you will go out with me?
"No," Kento said. He hugged Gojo and laid back against the couch with him. "We're saying in tonight."
Gojo giggled again. "So... you'll cook for me?"
"Yes," Kento said.
...
"I want to quit," Kento said. He was covered in his own blood. "I'm quitting..."
Half of Kento's body was burned beyond recognition. He didn't know where Gojo was. He curled on the floor and shut his eyes. He really was going to be all alone.
Yuuji picked him up with an arm under his. "Nanamin, don't give up!" he said. Mahito was nowhere to be found.
"Itadori..." Kento said. Yuuji grinned at him.
"I'm getting you out of here, Nanamin," Yuuji said.
"You... you always take on the adult responsibilities, Itadori-kun."
"Sometimes... kids want to take care of the adults," Yuuji said.
Kento smiled defeatedly and shut his eyes. "You're a good egg."
...
Kento didn't quit. Not until he could figure out how to get Gojo out of the prison realm. He spent months trying to figure it out. He was sleepless. His eye bags were just like before, at his old job.
...
With a loud explosion, Gojo came tumbling down a large hill next to a lake. He screamed in rage, energy thrusting him downward. He landed in a meadow of flowers, laid back, and shut his eyes.
...
Kento opened his door again. He dropped his glasses.
Gojo was in front of him. He looked so tired. Like the life had been sucked out of him. "Kenny..." he said. He collapsed, and Kento caught him in his arms. "Kenny, you... you look like shit."
Kento sniffled and squeezed Gojo.
...
They eventually quit. It was over.
Gojo laid against Kento's chest and shut his eyes. "I love you."
Kento choked on nothing. Gojo opened his blue eyes, and they sparkled as he looked at Kento. Kento's face turned red. "I love you too, Satoru."
Gojo kissed him gently and squeezed his hand.
...
Kento stared at the sapphire ring on Satoru's hand. Satoru pushed Kento's hair away from his face, and kissed him on the forehead. Their skin was warm against each other...
Kento was happy.
They stayed under the covers in the Malaysian sun.
There was a tiny sneeze from the other room, followed by footsteps. A small child with cream-colored hair and turquoise eyes tried and failed to get into bed with them. Gojo smiled and offered him a hand "here you go, baby."
Their baby smiled and curled up next to them. Kento put a blanket over him.
