Between the pages of a book I found this photo I took of my primary school classroom on the last day of class in 2000 and I distinctly remember taking it as a kid and thinking "this is the present but one day when I am old it will look so quaint and nostalgic"

though I had trouble believing it because it seemed impossible for the year 2000 (futuristic-sounding date) to feel like a past era

#favourite detail is the capital K in cursive on the board. you know some poor kid was suffering over it #it's one of the worst ones! #anyway the fact that we had those old timey tables with a hole for the ink makes it look even more dated than the pic quality #they didn't factor in my sentiment as they felt normal to me but now i look at this and think #wow my school hadn't had a new budget for furniture since the sixties huh
