lately, i've seen more people in the online autistic community acknowledging the struggles of people with higher support needs, which is of course an important development. but for some, that seems to come with the implicit assumption that low needs autistics "have it easy" or experience no stigma at all, which is just wrong??? people with low support needs are still disabled by their autism and still face discrimination because of it. sure, they are impaired to a lesser degree than those with higher support needs, but that doesn't mean you can just erase their struggles, y'know?

i can transgenderise anything btw. princess bubblegum feels trans to me bc she was born as a wad of gum and actively made the decision to be a girl and particularly w her family knew that everyone needed a "role" so much so that she made them to FULFILL that role and HER role was "niece" and "princess" and eventually princess became synonymous with "ruler" + i bet tying in the whole... i think she was the first ever princess as well just bc of her age DONT QUOTE ME. and princess as a title became like the general designation of head of state/kingdom with a few odd kings and queens. and i think there's something gender about it esp transversely w how as titles they ARE gender neutral and can be applied to anyone (fp becoming the flame king) and be a goal to aspire to in an episode that literally could serve as a transgender allegory albeit only half of one (princess cookie). and of course also the autism but autistic individuals having a more complex relationship w their gender is a well recorded slash known slash experienced thing anyway. also reminds me of how BMO also has trans allegories and such with football + is canonically nonbinary anyway and therefore any gender he chooses to present as is a trans experience + he's shown to showcase various levels of euphoria by being gendered and his one wish in that episode was to be a Real Boy. much to think about you see. adventure time.
