hey i’m watching outlander (not super into it too much rape) and why doesn’t she care more about guns?? like if i knew they were all gonna get massacred in two years primarily bc the english have muskets and they don’t i’d spend the majority of those two years stockpiling weapons. guns galore. muskets all around. how about a cannon or two. she was an army medic does she know anything more about explosives? why isn’t she telling her french aristocrat friends to fucking leave france? and really why are they not focusing!! on the guns!!!! guns are good!!! they’re useful!! especially if the other side has em and you don’t!!!

Hello are you still doing the SAGAU for reader gets mad and blowing up at people for certain characters? If you are can you do traveler or Lumine if you don’t want to do a general head cannon and fischl still? I’m so angry about how many NPC world quests that now seem like a pattern of traveler helps and then gets backstabbed and left to die and just really think those NPC need to under stand the gravity and anger of the players.

Reader Defending the Traveler! (Also No Vice Versa)

(Disclaimers: This May be OOC, And This Post Will Mainly be Using Lumine as "The Traveler." However, This Post Still Can Be Read as GN!Traveler or Aether.)

Lumine

To be frankly honest, I think you (the Reader) would feel pretty connected to Lumine. She's understanding, she's calm, and most importantly, she gets what it's like not to be from Teyvat. She's passed the celestial atlas to venture the world that is Teyvat, only to be prevented by the Unknown God.

Safe to say, you both were like two peas in a pod. And you were willing to travel with her and find her brother. Lumine gets you a lot, and you refuse any harm coming her way.

That includes verbal complaints. Like, honestly—Lumine's done so much for Teyvat for an outlander, and this is how they treat her?! You weren't having it.

So you planted your foot down, and boy, was your glare menacing. Your words were harsher than the blizzards of Dragonspine, and your glare was as menacing as the Dead Skeleton of Orobashi in Watatsumi Island.

Anyone who you deemed as enemy—in this situation, these good-for-nothing, took-for-granted gossipers—was paling at the seems of the Almighty Creator stomping their egos down. And, not gonna lie, Lumine kinda likes watching some of them. Some of the insults you used were actually used in other worlds—something only Lumine would know, but others didn't. It was kind of hilarious.

Alas, she can't have you go around and go all out all the time. Someone needs to make sure that the Creator doesn't try to decimate random folks, even if they are pretty infuriating.

"Your Grace." Lumine puts her hand on your shoulder. "Let's hurry up and finish this commission. We still need to get those rewards." You huff, but you let the insulters go, without a threatening note.

Yeah...she was not expecting to be an occurrence with so many other characters, but hey! Lumine's not gonna stop you :)

Okay so some tropes I love but I think are totally underrated are :

A good lip quiver when the whumpee is trying not to cry

The aftermath of a near drowning. So often a character nearly drowns and then they're fine. Where are my chest infections and secondary drownings and coughing and all that comes with inhaling a shit ton of water

checking a whumpees fever by placing the back of your hand against their forehead

historical whump!!! of any era!! But i'd love to see more of like post Industrial Revolution whump (so after like 1840)

plane crashes

being ostracized from a group can make for great emotional whump

royalty whump

whumpees who get aggressive during recovery

FAMILIAL OR PLATONIC WHUMP RELATIONSHIPS

incompetent caretakers. just caretakers who have no fucking clue what they're doing but you know they try

being impaled ut it's gone through and trapped the whumpeed to the wall or ground or something

Riley Poole (National Treasure), Jack Carter (Eureka), Will Gorski (Sense8), Dwight Enys (Poldark), Mon El (Supergirl), Pete Lattimer (Warehouse 13), Fergus Fraser (Outlander), Jack Robinson (Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries), Michael Westen (Burn Notice), and August Booth (Once Upon a Time) are underrated whumpees. I am in desperate need for more whump fanfics of these characters.

As for tv shows: Eureka is highly underrated whump show. I wish more people watched this show. Not only is there great whump for a bunch of characters (Jack is always getting whumped tbh) but the potential and fic ideas are GREAT.

Forever is also a whumpy show that is severely underrated! I mean that dude literally dies nearly every episode. The whump is amazing and I need content even though this show has been over for ages now.

Legend of the Seeker is also highly underrated as a whumpy tv show. I miss it so much.

And can we talk about period dramas because they got some good whump too.

AN: A teaser for the Outlander AU I will be posting for the Jonerys Summer Lovin’ 2k22 Event @snowxstormworld​ coming up next week. I am super excited that when I post, there will be artwork by the very talented @evax3​ for this scene! Thank you to @moondancer71 for the gorgeous photo edit!

The sky darkened as they drew nearer the great weirwood, and the sun’s rays were all but gone. “We’re so lucky there’s a full moon,” Dany observed. 

“I know,” Jon said, looking up overhead. “It was cloudy when I came here before. I might actually be able to get a decent picture.” 

If the great dead weirwood of Raventree was creepy in the daylight, it was ghastly at night. Its bone white bark gave off its own otherworldly luminesse and its desolate branches reached up toward the sky like grasping skeletal hands. 

She held onto Jon tighter. “Where are the ravens?” 

Suddenly there was a throaty “kraa! kraa!” and they both jumped. 

Jon laughed and pointed to a handful of crows roosting on a low hanging branch. “I think they heard you.” 

She elbowed him playfully as she watched the inky black birds. It felt as though they were staring back at her. “So much for hundreds,” she said. 

“They’ll come,” he assured her as another set of black wings flapped by and found a white dead branch. 

He laid out a flannel blanket on the ground and they sat together watching the spectacle. The birds came in a slow trickle, the black of their feathers striking against the deathly pale tree. 

Jon began searching his pockets. “Seven hells, I don’t have my phone. Do you have yours?” 

“No- I left it charging.” 

He stood abruptly. “I’m gonna run back and get mine.” 

“Are you serious?” 

“Ghost will stay with you - unless you want to come back with me?”

Dany groaned. “No, just hurry.” 

Jon whistled for Ghost, and the shaggy white dog came to sit beside her dutifully. “I’ll go quickly,” Jon told her, and then patted the great dog, “stay with Dany, boy.” 

Watching the ravens, she was weighed down with dread. I should have went back with him. Her heart began to race, and she put an arm around Ghost. At least thirty sets of beady eyes were on her and she fought a rising panic. 

Out of nowhere, she heard someone singing. She sat up straight and still. The song began to grow louder, it was sad and mournful. She jumped to her feet and it was then she realized crows were everywhere. It seemed that on every inch of every branch a crow now sat perched. Their squawking was loud but the song was somehow louder. 

“Jon?” she called out. 

It’s coming from the tree, she realized. Terror coursed through her veins, but she found her feet moving towards the colossal tree anyway, like she was under a spell. Somewhere she heard Ghost growl. The closer she drew, the louder the singing became. So strange and unfamiliar. The white of the bark truly looked like bone as she stood right before it. She saw the trunk pulse and her hands flew to her chest. 

As if she was being compelled, her hands were drawn to the smooth bark, and then everything went black.

My Entire Plot Prediction for the Mario Movie (Purely Guesswork)

I'm basing this entirely of what I've seen skimming through the 2 trailers a couple times.

(I'm probably not even gonna end up watching this movie lol)

*Ahem*

Mario and Luigi are 2 regular plumbers in the regular world. They're actually good at plumbing and love to do it, but their business in the city is rough, and they aren't very well-known. One day Luigi gets sucked into a pipe under the sink of some shifty old lady or something, and Mario goes after him. Mario ends up in the Mushroom Kingdom looking for his brother, but can't find him. So Toad takes him to the city and to Peach, who is the only other human they know of.

Meanwhile, Bowser starts attacking places and stealing the stars from the other places (8 kingdoms including Bowser's, I'm assuming) because there has to be an antagonist.

Meanwhile meanwhile, Luigi is lost in very dangerous outlands trying to find Mario, and ends up in Bowser's way. Already having heard about Mario, Bowser is alarmed by the existence of the human brothers here.

Luigi gets kidnapped and taken to the dungeon or whatever by Bowser. Peach and Mario get what is basically a ransom threat from Bowser that Luigi is kidnapped, and they'll need to hand over the star of the Mushroom Kingdom to get him back. Peach refuses knowing that Bowser will be unstoppable if he has the stars of every kingdom, so the crew now sets out to save Luigi.

(Insert mandatory Mario training montage)

To recruit help from M O N K E, Mario has to challenge DK. He actually ends up losing but at this time Bowser attacks the M O N K E kingdom to take their star, and the leader of the M O N K E S realizes what's at hand here so they help anyways.

(Insert mandatory "I'm on my way" montage from Shrek)

On their journey, after blatantly hinting at it for a painstaking third of the movie, Mario repeatedly expresses he doesn't think he belongs here but Peach eventually reveals her backstory to him. She ended up here on complete accident like Mario, and the toads had never seen a human so they assumed she was some god or something. After being made princess and growing an emotional attachment to them, she ended up realizing there's a universe of infinite possibilities out there outside of their regular lives. A world for anyone.

Meanwhile, cut to Luigi stuck in Bowser's gay baby jail (because he still has to be relevant). Every time he tries escaping he ends up getting himself put under more and more surveillance, and he starts to wish he were back in the real world plumbing with Mario, because with Mario he felt like he belonged.

In the finale of the movie, Mario very rashly tries to take on Bowser alone to save his brother - now insisting he's trained hard enough and does belong here - but fails, and so Peach (and Toad I guess) end up being the ones to save the brothers (probably calling in the entire cast of the movie to help them because that's how the finale always goes). They force Bowser to return the stars to each kingdom. Because it's a kids movie they end up sparing Bowser, who acts like he's changed but secretly still has devious plans (hinting at a sequel with an incredible lack of subtlety).

At the end of the movie, Mario and Luigi have the choice to stay here or leave and return to the real world. They have a *very retrospective moment* and think about how they belong here. However, with this new lesson-learning, they also now feel like there's nothing in the real world really holding them back from enjoying their lives even if they're not the most successful plumbers out there. After all, they still love plumbing with each other more than anything. So they say goodbye and leave.

(Insert mandatory parallel scene of the first 10 minutes of the movie where their plumber problems are shown, except now they don't care. Someone has to fix people's toilets, and they're gonna enjoy it every step of the way)

Currently Reading: Right this moment, KinnPorsche the novel, though it’s a ride and a half and I have to keep taking a breather and I’m not even a quarter of the way through 😭 It’s gonna take me ages! Fanfictions... there are so damn many, my phone hates how many tabs I have open. There’s a mixture of KinnPorsche fanfics and Bungou Stray Dogs fanfics. To name a few KinnPorsche fanfics, there is On The Clock By Serena_Writes and it is so fucking good, I’m honestly hooked! Dropping a baby off at a mafia compound is a good idea, right? By lalala53 on Ao3 or @lesbianiconsteveharrington here on tumblr. It’s a one shot, but my god it is so fucking cute!! It’s just *chef’s kiss* Adorbs! Definitely would recommend! The Modern Way by TheObsoleteOne. This one is just fucking adorable in all aspects! If you want KinnPorsche with cavity inducing fluffiness and heart flutters caused by warm, comforting domesticity, then this is the fic for you! It’s the cutest shit ever! And another great fanfic, which has also got me hooked on the edge of my seat like what’s gonna happen next?, Somewhere I Belong by Jamaican Princess (Rocquellan). There are so many more but I’d be here all day, but these ones I would definitely give them a read as they are so amazing!

As for an actual original book, I’m currently reading Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, Bungou Stray Dogs novel 55 Minutes by Kafka Asagiri, Trying by Emily Phillips, Child of Fortune by Yuko Tsushima and No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai.

Last Song: Oh damn, where the hell do I start?! I know I’ve been listening to CIRCUS, Christmas EveL and Maniac by Stray Kids on a loop, as well as their other songs, I’m a Stay and I love these babies so much! LALISA by LISA. Mirror Mirror by MILLI, Feat. F.Hero and Changbin from Stray Kids (I mean I loved this song before the KP World Tour, but Us has got me hooked on it even more so I blame him). SG by Dj Snake, Megan Thee Stallion, LISA and Ozuna (was addicted to this song as soon as I saw the video of Bible rolling his hips to it so thank you KP world tour, eternally grateful☺️) Another song I’m hooked on right now is PIECES by Elley Duhé, this song for multiple reasons. More artists I’ve been listening to are Bebe Rexha (I’ve loved Bebe for so damn long), ITZY and DREAMCATCHER.

Last Series: The last series I watched was KinnPorsche (though I can’t stop watching it, it’s the love of my life and I have separation anxiety and KinnPorsche withdrawal symptoms). But before that, I watched Vincenzo; So freaking good!! Definitely would recommend! There’s a nice balance of mystery, comedy, crime, drama and mafia too, it is honestly such a good series. And then All Of Us Are Dead; Now this show, holy fuck, it was so good I watched it again straight after finishing it, it’s THAT good!! Again, would definitely recommend! Both Vincenzo and All Of Us Are Dead are on Netflix.

Last Movie: I honestly cannot remember the last movie I watched, I’ve just been watching series so I can’t remember off of the top of my head but I think it might have been Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness which was excellent! Definitely would recommend this to anyone who is interested.

Currently working on: Okay, I don’t know if this counts but I’m in the process of writing a few KinnPorsche metas (I hope they’ll be metas and not just messes) and they’re currently glaring at me from my tumblr drafts, waiting for me to finish them, which I will eventually get around to, but that’s what I’m in the process of working on right now.

Outlanders episode/fanfic idea

Body swap/position swap with the leaders (except Jasiri, she’s safe lol)

1. The position swap is pretty simple. Janja, Reirei, Kiburi, and Mzingo are all arguing on who has the most responsibilities. Sick of the arguing and bragging about everyone’s problems, Jasiri decides everyone needs to walk in each other’s shoes and orders the others to switch places. Janja switches places with Kiburi and Reirei switches with Mzingo. Shupavu and Njano get to watch all the leaders suffer and realize leading the different groups isn’t as easy as they thought

2. The body swap is the more fun version. The problem’s basically the same, except there’s a shooting star involved. Upon seeing it, Madoa is like “Wow! A shooting star! Make a wish, Jasiri!” and Jasiri half-jokingly says “Lol I wish everyone would get to walk in each other’s footsteps”. Little does she know, the leaders wake up trapped in different bodies. And thus, hilarity ensues.

- Janja: Janja thinks ruling over the crocs is a piece of cake since Tamka and Nduli are basically Chungu and Cheezi as crocodiles. Little does he know, it’s a lot harder than it looks, since Janja has to learn how to fight as a reptile while also making sure he gets enough water. I like to think Janja would try to spar with Tamka or Nduli, only to have his tail handed to him

- Kiburi: Kinda similar to Janja while he gets used to being a mammal, but he’s pulling through. However, he’s GOT to teach the other hyenas how to fight cuz during a sparring match, he whooped everybody’s tails. Now it’s up to the rest of the clan to teach Kiburi how to loosen up

- Reirei: Reirei is not doing well as a bird. She may be good at being a mother and the voting isn’t so bad, but she cannot eat an already decaying animal for her life. And it takes about all day to learn how to fly properly

- Mzingo: He’s raised Janja and his clan pretty much their whole lives, he’s sure he can handle a litter of pups and teenagers, right? …….Right? Well, not si much. Turns out his parliamentary rules don’t really work with jackal pups. Not even the skinks are safe, cuz Shupavu and Njano have switched with Kenge and Sumu hfhfgf. I guess bc they thought Kenge and Sumu’s lives were easier just cuz they had venom to protect themselves

- Shupavu in Sumu’s body: Shupavu was confident Sumu’s life was easy (save for his lack of friends when he was a child) cuz of the stinger. What she DIDN’T realize was that apparently, her new stinger could come off easily and not affect certain predators like hornbills and baboons. She also learns that like Ushari’s venom, Sumu’s venom is rather precious to him and she has to be careful not to use it too much

- Njano in Kenge’s body: I think Njano is the only one who loves his new body. He’s big, he’s got venom, and he has way too much fun scaring other animals for the fun of it. I think his only downside is that he can’t exactly sneak or spy on anyone cuz they all know he’s coming lmao. Like his og form, Njano tends to leave his (or should I say, Kenge’s) tongue sticking out, making Kenge’s body a little less intimidating, much to Kenge’s chagrin

- Sumu in Shupavu’s body: This has got to be the strangest one. A scorpion in a skink’s body. While Sumu kinda enjoys the new look (and he has a much easier chance of making a new friend if he wanted to), he’s no longer venomous. And he’s got a lot more predators than he usually had, making him turn to Shupavu and Njano for protection. Also he internally freaked out when he accidentally detached Shupavu’s tail, thinking he was gonna die (which is realistic for scorpions)

- Kenge in Njano’s body: This is probably the funniest one yet. Kenge, the big venomous monitor lizard with a hatred for anything little is….well, little. And because he doesn’t have any venom either, he’s pretty much harmless. He can’t even be taken seriously cuz Njano’s face is so goofy, he appears angy and that just makes everyone laugh and go “awww”. Lmao poor Kenge

Thankfully, everyone only has to deal with this for a day, since Jasiri manages to reverse it (as for how, off the top of my head, she wishes on the north star)

İ wanna think thats also how Kamisato siblings feels like when they saw Thoma's belongings in estate. His duster waits for him in same place, his favorite tea cup is still in kitchen table where he left when he heard the guards outside. İts really looks like Thoma will open the door any moment and smile to them brightly.

Except he wont, he cant. Once more he is far away from his home.

This whole thing would make Ayato think its the sign of how he failed to protect his family. He had given only one promise to Thoma, that his home will always be a safe place for Thoma. And yet now this home is the first place Thoma had to avoid. Yes i think Ayato definitely take these as his failure. I bet either he or Ayaka couldn't really take to imagine how Thoma is, so maybe they just acts like he will be back in moments. For the sake of the other.

But to Thoma, everything was simply because he was NOT part of that family. İ mean, why him if not because he was the only outlander in Kamisato's right?? So it wasn't really Ayato's fault, in Thoma's eyes.

There is something angstily beautiful in the fact that Thoma being far away from estate, preferly sitting alone in night and watching the sea, and just accepting that he will be always outlander in this country. No matter how much he is loved by Kamisato's, no matter how much he makes himself usefull its just doesnt change.

He would join the resistance, maybe stays with Gorou and Kazuha to help them. We all know he is a clever man im sure he will be pretty usefull to them.

But hehe thats also means he joins the fights/war directly. For the sake of hurt/comfort moments lets say he gains some scars, some unpleasent memories. Lets say he listened the people of watatsumi and their troubles, maybe he traveled to other islands as well. Wouldnt the stories of people (the ones WE players even got traumatized) left a burden on his heart? He always is the type who wanna help others as much as he can, so of course it would hurt him to see he cant just help most of them. Seeing the war from front lines, seeing the man of both sides falling-

He felt the gaze of Shogun directly didnt he? He maybe even felt it in his bones, all the electricity around. İt was just everywhere. And even now he is away, maybe he just cant get rid of the feeling. Something close to Scara maybe?? Maybe he unintentionally he started to dislike being in outside and prefers to stay inside.

Not the mention he might feel like winds cant carry his prays to Barbatos anymore. And hell, that must make him feel so SO lonely... İf im not mistaken Monstaders believes when they die Barbatos will carry their souls to home, yes? Maybe Thoma even gave up on that too. He is just so SO far away, under some other gods hatefull gaze.

The worst part of Outlander? Season 6 (which just ended earlier this week) was the very first season where someone in the main family (Jamie/Claire/Brianna) wasn’t sexually assaulted.

And while you might think that that’s progress… it really wasn’t. They instead chose to show Claire having an ongoing mental breakdown where she is haunted by the ghost of the man who brutally assaulted her in season 5 (which leads to her developing a drug addiction to cope with the trauma), and then Jamie is accused of being the one to sexually assault a young woman, which leads to him and Claire being attacked, kidnapped to be taken to court by the vengeance-seeking brother of the man who assaulted Claire in season 5, both of them separated in a very traumatic scene, and their fates unknown for now.

Speaking as someone who used to be a fan of the show (I love 18th century history and fashion, as well as historical fiction and fantasy fiction) and now just hate watches it in disgust… yeah, I could never recommend it to someone, not with the main characters being sexually assaulted in literally every season except for one.

Oh yeah no I’m just dropping in for a couple of episodes I’m not gonna watch the whole show — sounds like it is absolutely a TRASH fire lmfao

Why did outlander run themselves to the ground? I stopped watching S3 so I want to know lol

I mean, I don't really think the show is worth watching after like... realistically, about the midpoint of season 3. You can really just watch Jamie and Claire reunite, get your closure there, and call it a day. A lot of the problems here also exist in the books, which I stopped reading after book... 5...? But there's no excuse because the reality is that I highly doubt they are legally obliged to follow those things to the letter.

My issues with Outlander include:

--it is often boring to watch a main couple together when you know there is no way they will CHOOSE to be apart, ever, which is one reason why romance novels don't follow a main couple throughout a series

--because there is no way Jamie and Claire will choose to be apart (proven by her following him through centuries and abandoning their child lmao, I think she's a ride or die) you add tension by making bad thing after bad thing happen to them, and at a certain point it's honestly pretty depressing lmao

--the followup couple meant to add romantic tension (who are now ultimately on the same level of together) is bad because Roger sucks

--so. many. people. get raped. to count: jamie, claire, brianna, ian, fergus, and (in the books, idk if the show mentioned that backstory) john grey have all been raped. it's fucking ridiculous. this isn't even getting into the side characters who've been raped. jesus. when both parents AND BOTH OF THEIR KIDS (brianna and fergus) have been raped, you made a fucking mistake.

--Scotland and France were very compelling settings! America is not. This was a huge issue I had with the books, too. You lose a lot when these people go to America.

--Watching these white people (one English, one Scottish, the latter of which you'd really think would feel bad about stealing land) settle in America, where they are engaging in colonization... is ick. It's ickier when you see the incredibly!!! Stereotypical depictions of Native Americans (Roger's captivity arc, I can't). It's ickier still when you see them confront the fact that everyone around them is keeping slaves, and have Claire go "I feel bad but whatcha gonna do". Lmao. Okay.

--The show's treatment of homosexuality and bisexuality (which is to say, it doesn't) is much like that of the books wherein you have this implication that queer people are threatening and weird?

--Realistically, Jamie, Claire, and John should've had a threesome or just all moved in together at this point because the sexual tension John has with both of them is insane. But instead, we have boring.
