Hades is an indie roguelite game released a couple years ago! and literally I cannot find a single bad thing to say about this game im being serious rn. The storyline? Fucks. The music? Fucks. The art? Fucks. The characters? I need to fuck everyone so bad. The gameplay? I've never been more addicted to dying. and this game is fully voice acted like WHAT?????

In the game you play as Zagreus, son of Hades, and youre trying to escape from your house because you hate your dad and also to find your mom. but theres also tons of other characters with their own sub-plotlines AND there's a dating mechanic. there's honestly so much goddang content and the writing + voice-acting is totally solid!!

i'm not much of a Gamer™ myself and im usually pretty shit (or mediocre at BEST) in action-heavy games, but even i found hades to be super enjoyable :oo it did took some getting used to in the beginning, but after getting the hang of it and because of the game's natural progression it does get significantly easier. I think the game is really well-balanced, and no matter what weapon or boon you use its still really fun.

if i remember correctly back when the trailer dropped it caused quite a stir on twitter/tumblr because it looked so good. And guess what!! they're making HADES 2 BABEY!!! but that comes out in early access next year i think.

so yeah. check it out if you want! or maybe later if you have finals. because I will admit that sometimes.....when i couldve been drawing or doing something productive. i was not. because i was playing hades. so um. sorry guys.

What do you like most about the new Stardew update? And what mods do you like to use?

oh my god theres so many good things. the multiple pets is probably my favorite. tho im also a big fan of the new fishing tourneys, the winter clothes add is super cute, new crops my beloveds and the new farm!! i always lean more towards raising animals than crops in this game so this was a huge one for me tbh

as for mods, i do have a few cause i do like some quality of life improvements that these give. the 'friends forever' and 'part of the community' ones that never decrease your heart levels and almost every little action boosts friendship are super nice as someone who doesnt put a lot of focus on befriending townsfolks. 'wear more rings' is just for convenience tbh, just like the 'stat bar reloader' which helps immensely especially at early game when you have to collect a lot of stuff and using tools is exhausting. i usually use the fishing minigame skip but thats not patched for the new update yet so. manual fishing. hurray /s

i also have a few visual things, got the cuter portraits and seasonal outfits finally reinstalled, and an earthy recolor which makes everything easier on the eyes (tho its not fully patched yet so its a bit wonky but for the most part it works. no more blinding winters for meeee)

i think thats mostly what i use? i dont like using a lot of mods but i was thinking of digging into the site again to see what new stuff they have that i could possibly try, since im sure with the update there is a lot of new stuff now

hi kitkat!! and JHVKSJFHS YEA, u can give em diff clothes in tot!! like, sometimes they show up in diff outfits in the stories, but in tot theres also this Visit function where u basically just kick the door of respective boy's home down and u waltz into their home/space and spend time with them (i.e. give headpats or lift their shirts a little bit or in just frigging undress them, if theyre marius. this game is awesome JHVSKJDFHS) and in the Visit function, u can indeed give the boys diff clothes that appeared in diff stories!!!

now to ur question: this is gonna be very difficult cuz, sans luke's perplexing mondrian-esque sweater (which isnt even an available outfit for Visit), i love all of luke's outfits so much

Okay so, heres an in depth ramble/review of sonic frontiers! Big spoilers ahead!

Tldr: buy the game its good!

Okay now that i know eyes here are okay with spoilers imma start my revieeeeeeewww! :D

This game sure was something! But i love love loved it! I really liked how it played and the performance was great with only a few hickups in the open world but i could count that on my hand in the 14 hours ive played so far! For the difficulty, i didnt realize till later that you can hold down rb and lb to parry instead of timing it perfectly so me playing on easy was like, this game difficult aaaa! But once i figured out i could hold the buttons the challenge was more moderate for me!

I really enjoyed fishing! The last zone got a bit difficult for me so i used fishing to get the items i needed to progress! Fishing tokens which you need some of per fishing attempt are rare at the start but once you start doing the slot machine minigame that pops up every so often youll get crazy amounts of tokens fast! Also oh my gosh the little kocos are adorable!!! I will protect them with my LIFE! For me the open world was the most fun thing to do, the little stages you have to do to get vault keys are fine but for me getting enough keys could get a bit frustrating in some spots, music in those stages are great though! And also if a stage is too hard just do some fishing for vault keys theres no punishment! But yeah music in those stages are defo worth the few attemps! Music in the overworld also was very nice and relaxing as was fishing lo fi hip hop beats to fish to tm. Boss music tho? Screamer metal just took my by suprise and im so here for it?!?! Its great!

Okay now though i rlly want to gush about the story for a bit. So this is the super duper spoiler part!

So i wont recap the game but i do want to just say some things about it. Like pls give tails and eggman a hug? Especially the ending eggman was just so sad! Dude lost his daughter ; ~ ; and that actually made me tear up like oh my gosh i know eggy is the bad guy in sonic games but dude was rlly nice in this game to listen to. I rlly enjoyed listening to him in every cutscene. Finding out sage is like a daughter to him was super sweet to see. And tails tho? I cried when he was doing his story arc and went like. Sonic the events with infinite rlly fucked me up bro and sonic is like. U okay lill bro, want to talk about it? Pls give tails a hug! I also teared up at the start with amy when we did the koco sidequest and they just died??? And amy is like woah they died?!?! So yeah as you can see im a very easy to make cry person and this story just hit me hard at some spots! Thanks flynn! (Luv ur works im srs!)

Also the idw comics canon now in mainline games??? I heard sonic talk about tangle and it fricking took me off guard! Lets go tangle!

Also most fun thing for me to do in the game was revealing the map by doing all those little minigames!

Now i think ive said what i wanted to say, if ur reading this thanks for reading the full ramble thing i love you! Buy the game its great!! Im not going to say its perfect i still think mania for example is my fav sonic game still but this is by far my favorite game ive played this year!

in other news, i’m trying to finish red dead redemption 2. i bought the spyro trilogy but i don’t wanna start that until i’m done with rdr2 (it was on sale, but i think if i go to spyro i may not come back to rdr2.)

and... rdr2 is such a weird game. like, i do find myself wanting to play it, and going back to it, and i wanna finish the story, but at the same time, like... most of the gameplay frustrates me? there’s no individual mechanic that i enjoy. actually almost all of the stuff i like is the characterization and stuff. the shooting is what it is, there’s much too much riding around on horses, fishing is terrible (which is odd-- normally fishing minigames i rather enjoy; but in this game the whole thing is such a slog), exploration is-- sometimes alright, but there’s not much reward, and there’s so much to do that i’ll never get done (never care to get done), and like. i dunno.

like, the exploration: in games like BOTW and Subnautica, i was exploring to see what there was, y’know? like there’s just this feeling of something new and awesome ‘round every corner. in rdr2? investigation is as likely to lead me to a house i can’t get into as it is to anything interesting. plus also the random-gen events kinda make it feel like the world is coming to put on a show for you, the player, to pass through.... i dunno.

the fishing wouldn’t be so bad except for reeling the bigger fish in is a straight ten minutes of madly swirling the L stick. (in my experience, i could be doing it wrong, i guess.)

shooting is alright. again, it really feels like the world is coming to put on a show for the player... nearly every plot point ends in something going wrong and literally bonzer amount of people coming after you (for you to kill, of course) and y’know after the third or fourth time of killing 40 people in the same rural town it begins to feel weird, world-wise. sure this agency can hire more people but like, who wants to WORK for an agency that gets 40 men killed twice a month?? like where are these gung-ho suicide-by-outlaw types coming from???? i get that, to some extent, it’s a gameplay concession. but when the quickest strategy is for me to walk up without cover while shooting headshots as i make my path of blood through these poor virtual towns...... like...............

oh, and for some reason they gave like this random guy’s house a fully voiced over backstory for every written document (in a game where normally only plot-relevant letters have voiceovers) and it’s the sad, “sorry” tale of a fughkingdsing SLAVE BOUNTY HUNTER?!? i absolutely do not understand why they wanted to give that much pathos to that random location and npc. at the end the PC is like “yer time has passed, shithead” but it’s not really............ it doesn’t come across as enough after you’ve potentially just spent like twenty minutes listening to letters from this dude’s perspective i guess?? idk that was a weird bit

idk. as pretty as the game can be, i always find myself with plenty of reasons to complain about it and not much to say in its praise. which feels unfair because i do still want to finish it-- and have still spent quite a lot of time with it-- but.... that’s the way it be, i guess.

if sonic games were online

sonic 1 - ur either a hedgehog who saves the flickies or the flickies who gets saved. barely anyone plays as flickies so ppl just fuck around. everyone avoids labyrinth zone. green hill zone can barely be accessed due to how many ppl are there at a time.

sonic 2 - u can play as a hedgehog or a flying fox. ppl cant figure out the carrying mechanics. a common prank is guiding newer players into mystic cave zone spikes. everyone flips their shit when they manage to unlock super form.

sonic 3 (& knuckles) - u play as a hedgehog, flying fox, and gliding echidna. everyone keeps bumping into each other in blue spheres. “*paralyzer by finger eleven in the bg* *slowly types* hi im neonhedgehoglmao and im here to teach you how to get past the barrel of doom”.

angel island zone is always laggy. “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA” is constantly spammed in sandopolis.

sonic cd - u can play as either a hedgehog or a robot hedgehog and can travel thru ~time~. everyone abuses the super peel out. no one understands where tf they are goin bc of the weird map layouts. “can anyone show me where the time signs are????”

sonic adventure - u can play as a hedgehog, fox, cat, robot, and echidna. most of it is just fuckin around (give the developers a break its their first 3d online game). a huge percentage of the userbase rarely plays the actual game and spends their time in chao garden. frogs in the fishing minigame are special which ofc leads to a lot of dumb rumors. roleplaying is always going on in station square. twinkle park is also laggy bc of the minigames there.

“sometimes i wish the master emerald would just stop shattering.”. chaos appears and everyone loses their mind trying to beat him. perfect chaos event is filled with SO MUCH LAG.

sonic adventure 2 - u can play as a hedgehog, fox, echidna, bat, cat, and robot hedgehog (bc big’s playable in multiplayer). theres a morality system with different stats i guess???. cars keep getting flung everywhere bc everyone loves skateboarding in the city escape map but cant control it for shit. like before, everyone keeps playing chao garden.

dark players make fun of hero players and vice versa (its an iconic war). no one likes the space maps. “pls help me find the last emerald shard.” a time based mission happens and the entire playerbase loses their shit, lag is EVERYWHERE due to everyone trying to get to the shuttle on time. chao boxes are basically lootboxes. biolizard event has everyone shook.

sonic heroes - u can play as a hedgehog, fox, echidna, bat, cat, crocodile, chameleon, bee, rabbit, and robot. the whole team mechanic’s moral is missed bc everyone is always arguing with each other. “CHAO GARDEN UPDATE WHEN”. constant amount of flying requests in teams. sky chase is heavily populated. “OH SHIT GIANT HEDGEBOT”

shadow the hedgehog - u play as a hedgehog and theres gunplay. everyone keep shooting each other. it’s basically the call of duty of sonic in this case. theres a shitload of conspiracy theories abt the black arms and why they keep manipulating the player’s character.

sonic 06 - u can play as a hedgehog, fox, echidna, bat, cat, and robot. the game’s launch is glitchy as fuck and the servers keep crashing due to all of the hype, its basically the final fantasy 14 of sonic. everyone’s annoyed by the saving princess missions and is confused by the story. telekinesis class is OP as shit. lag. lag everywhere. “hey *insert username here* have u finished those errands”

unleashed - u can play as a hedgehog or a werehog. “WHERE ARE THE OTHER SPECIES”. “free sun and moon medal hax no virus”. ppl spam the howl emote. no one understands how to control boost at first so a lot of ppl just fling off the map. the chao quest is introduced and everyone’s like “CHAO GARDEN UPDATE CONFIRMED!!!”. “what is this chihuahua fairy stop following me”

sonic colors - u play as a hedgehog and wisp (its like the first game but this time wisp players get to help) the game lags heavily at first due to all of the wisp action going on. ppl slam into each other due to not charging the laser wisp correctly. some get vored by frenzy wisp. a lot of ppl fuck around with the carnival minigames and eat candy mountain. “need *insert wisp here*”

sonic generations - u play as a hedgehog and a chibified version of hedgehogs. theres just a lot of rping going on in this one since p much almost every rp map is included. it gets played for nostalgic purposes at first and then just devolves into “that one furry rp game”. wisps are added as playable characters later

sonic lost world - u play as a hedgehog, wisp, and zeti. “this is like a ripoff of those mario online games”. no one understands the parkour system. barely anyone goes to the ice maps and lava due to how much of a bitch they are. giant sandwiches are a meme.

sonic forces - u play as the custom character species choices and most of the ones beforehand (+ jackal). infinite appears sometimes and ppl are like “COME AT ME BITCH” despite being underleveled. the voice chat system is the communication thing from the levels and it gets out of hand quickly. everyone rage quits at that sidescrolling level. sunset heights is just lag central (what doesnt help is the fire)

what are your favourite stilwater hidden details? stuff like easter eggs, funny posters and npcs, and so on.

ooh wow big ask lemme think

ok i think the #1 thing is that you can actually pick up and try to play basketball at any of the hoops but that really ties overall into how much i like the situational idle animations. theyre the same animations youll see npcs doing in the right places -- browsing shelves in a store, leaning on a wall smoking a cigarette outside.............. dancing on a pole in a strip club (which yes, is an animation your boss will do if the situation is right).

something that makes the sr2 world feel way more alive for me is how npcs will just... walk around and do things. theyre not programmed to sit in one spot repeating one animation for All Of Eternity or to just endlessly walk back and forth up a street. they do shit! its neat!

is it just fair to say i love how many stupid little minigames there are?? ambulance and taxi and streaking?? theres so many little timewasters...

signs and stuff... are funny bcs like holy shit it never stops cracking me up how insanely bad the like... graphic design in stilwater is. all the posters and signs in the city look unbelievably amateurish but i would argue this fits so well in some horrible way.

anyway the best signs in the game are the Stilwater U fliers which push me into hysterics every time i see them

and of course the vitally important and unforgettable No Rings Boo Hoo

a lot of what makes sr2 so funny to me is just how the game world is fucking absurd in a way the game doesnt especially draw attention to.

the best hidden location is the nuclear dump w/ the three eyed fish bcs those and the Secret Hidden Crabs are the only animals in the game world i think, which says a lot about Stilwater imo. most of the easter eggs (the hidden cabbits fr example) are pretty silly. i like that the merman exists even if ive never managed to catch a glimpse myself.

when it comes to npcs.... man i just love listening to people walking around in the world? a lot of them just spew dumb jokes but theres also so many that inform my idea of stilwater as a real place, people who have to live and work there and have opinions on whats going on. having npcs come up to you and bully you over what youve been doing in the story was such a great fucking idea? like genuinely, it gives such a vivid impression of Stilwater as a world in which the absurdity and violence of the game’s story can happen.

i also love the shop staff. is there BLOOD on this TWENTY?

other random details... i like that road signs list the icons for stores and activities? i like that theres a guided tour in the saint’s row church, i like that the in-game radio accounts for the fact that Veteran Child dies and how Shivington is a burned out husk after youre done with the place (i love seeing tangible real-world impacts of shit in games).

thats everything i can think of off the top of my head but i know ppl are gonna say “hey what about this” and im gonna be like OH YEAH MAN THAT RULES!!! bcs theres way too many little things to remember all at once.

Favorite male character: Issun is so so funny I love that little jumpy guy. His dialogue makes the game.

Favorite female character: I cannot not say Amy. She has so much personality despite not speaking at all and I value that. Its a little basic to choose the main character but you know. I dont care.

Favorite pairing: there arent rly any ships so hm... platonically id say Shiranui and Nagi which is a weird choice but bc theyre functionally identical to Amy and Susato but I think Nagi is funny and I like the time travel arc

Least favorite character: theres a couple sort of annoying ones but I really cannot stand the digging minigame so that guy. get him out of here

Character most like me: Oh hmm.... Issun probably I am also a little annoying and love talking. plus I relate to his whole thing w his dad

Most attractive: oh I cant not say the big boobed kitsune lady I love evil women. also as a note I rly like the himiko stuff in that arc I think thats a really cool part of japanese history

Three other characters I like: the boy from the fishing minigame !!!! all five of the warrior dogs im counting them as one. and Kai! her race was so painful but shes a cool character :)

AGH IM SO OVERWHELMED WITH LOVE FOR MY GYARADOS

His name is Allegro and he's a shiny i got on pokemon go abd i just got SO ATTATCHED to him cos of the way evolution works in the app. I feel like this is the first time i ever actually experienced the intended experience of magikarp, yknow? Like its supposed to be weak and take a lot of effort to evolve. But in later games simply levelling it up has become much easier and honestly it wasnt even very hard in the original. Just boring,cos you had to keep it in slot one and keep switching it out. Like its exactly the same as just training other pokemon but with a boring thing added. It feels like this poor magikarp doesnt have a part in its own evolution! But in pokemon go you have to catch 400 magikarps to evolve it and its a way more difficult challenge that takes potentially months of real time and encourages you to go out and explore more places to find them. And you can put the magikarp as your buddy pokemon and have it follow behind you to earn bonus evolution candies, so its really like youre earning it together!!!

So thats why im SO PROUD of allegro and i love him so much!! Also i was doing all this running around for magikarps back when i was in a very low mental health state and working on making progress. So i seehim as a personification of my recovery and a big kind happy friend who helped me through it! Going on more frequent walks each week did help a lot, and having this game as a goal was a great way to distract myself from feeling all anxious and awful and staying inside instead of following the doctors orders. And now im more able to go outside on long journeys without the game's help so i think maybe its time to transfer Allegro to the console games? Cos i can see him in full 3D and ride on his back through the ocean!!! Its a shame the latest game doesnt let you cuddle all of your pokemon though, only pikachu. But i can have him follow me everywhere on happy ocean trips and chat to him and just have a grand old time! And find out what his stats would even be in a regular game, lol. I mean even if i get unlucky in the transfer and he turns out to be the weakest gyarados ever i dont give a fuck cos I LOVE HIM! Oh oh oh and he could follow me around in real life again in a different better way! I got the pokeball plus controller so i can upload him into that and do the pedometer minigame exvept this time this one gives him levels instead of evolution. He's gonna be so damn powerful from my love!!!!

Oh oh oh and i think his personality is cute! I know gyarados's personality is supposed to be 'angry all the time' but i just picture allegro as a super calm and peaceful one. He's maybe not too outwardly affectionate but he loves you a lot, yknow? Like a kind of quiet and solitary cat whose way of showing love is just to hang out in the same room together and roll over on its belly to show its not scared of you. I think theres probably a communication difference like that with gyaradoses, theyre a mon whose way of being happy isnt as similar to humans as stuff like dogs or pikachus.so they get a bad rep of being evil and scary and always grumpy when theyre just trying to show you how they feel and theyre sad you dont understand. Like, maybe they boop each other with headbutts as affection and dont realise humans are so much weaker than them so it takes a while to learn how to boop their new friend softly. But when they just hear RARR RARR I AM PUNISHING YOU FOR BEING NICE theyre like ??? and learn to be scared of showing their affection. And then you call them emotionless for it!! And maybe theyre also like a mix of dogs and lizards? Like they lay around a lot being "lazy and bored" when really its just that they need to regulate body temperature when outside of the water by sleeping more hours a day than a human does. And they get yelled at for wrecking stuff arpund the house cos theyre trying to curl up in a shady spot and their bigness means they knock over the sofa. And they move around a lot during their naps cos they need to find cold/damp spot to go to sleep and then lay down half awake for a little while in a sunbeam to get energized to start the day. So of course theyre gonna be a bit fidgety if they dont have their own room with a specialized bed, and of cpurse theyre gonna sleep even longer if they get so exhausted finding a sleeping spot! And then i think theyre very hyper and playful when theyre awake and thats the real cause of their reputation as angry evilness. They just wanna play and they dont understand a lot of the human world and its all so small and fragile. Theyre not doing it on purpose!! Oh and i think maybe similar to scorpions theyre not actually dangerous because theyre aggressive but because theyre scared? Most venomous animals only sting you when they think theyre in danger of dying,cos they only have a limited amount of venom and wouldnt wanna waste it unless its necessary. But scorpions are easily scared of humans so they think we're murderous fiends if we just stand near them, lol! Its understandable cos i mean all they can see is a massive foot and some towering infinate shadow and feel all the quakes it makes in the sand as it approaches. People are spooky! So i think maybe gyarados are very curious critters and tend to get spooked by the stuff they stumble into, like that vid of emus poking the ball toy and running away screaming when it moves. And also gyaradoses can only investigate stuff by forehead bumps, taste and sniffing by wiggling their lil mustache antennae. All things that tend to look like OMG SCARY THING IS ATTACKING ME from a human perspective. Also theyre very big and evolve from something very small so they dont know their own strength! And everything looks so new and fun!

Anyway anyway for Allegro i was thinking of a headcanon of my pokemon trainer sona going through the same stuff i did IRL? Like, an anxious adult who used to be a trainer as a kid but went through a lot of abusive parent stuff and lost their confidence and also lost all their belongings in the process of running away. So that led to trainer-me being all depressed and living in a small crowded town having a boring life and feeling like id never be good enough to start my trainer career all over again. But i find a sparkly fishie of cuteness in the pond and i keep him as more of a pet than a battler but through the power of his love i start taking him out on walkies and training myself to be worthy of being the trainer he needs, yknow? Like 'i hate myself but i cant stand anyone else hating themself'. Cos magikarp is the weak pokemon and maybe he heard humans all talking about that and he felt he'd never get a human friend because of it. Also maybe magikarps are like koi fish and they dont get their full colours until teenagerish age, so shiny ones are just regular orange for the first few years and he didnt even know he was special. And his specialness shined through as we were training together but i loved him even before i knew he was special, just cos he was such a kind lil guy!! And then he earned his big fancy sparkly evolution and now we fly majestically thru the skies on the power of self confidence~! Also similarly to how i got my baby photos back from finding my sister after all these years, trainer-me eventually got reunited with their childhood pokemon and now has eighty bazillion powerfulnesses again. And they all met allegro and they love thier lil bro and now we're going on a revisiting kanto adventure together and everything is great.

And i just think allegro is very kind and soft and peaceful and curls around everyone in a big hug when he goes to sleep and I LOVE HIM and he flies majestically and he really loves it after dreaming of it for so long. I named him a music word cos i was thinking of 'what would you call Splash if it was actually a powerful move?' Splash = jumping = ballet? So he is a graceful squiggly weird wind kite snake worm dragon koifish and i love him and i cherish him and HE IS THE REASON HE IS SPECIAL NOT THAT HE'S LITERALLY A RARE POKEMON. cos the rare coloured gyarados is a gyarados thats the same colour as a.magikarp! Its such a good symbol for the same thing you were self concious about being what everyone appreciates about you, yknow? I love him and he is peaceful and happy and shy and i bet if you hugged him it would be so weird cos its not like you often get to hug a fish that isnt wet. And i mean he's like a half fish half dragon? So it must be like a.lizard but with very prominant scale texture and a leathery whale blubber body or something. And big pointy elephant tusk teeth and the forehead horn thingie! I wanna cuddle him so much aaaaa
