in true canadian fashion: sorry i'm late

although, in some ways, i'm actually early. You know what I realized doing this ambitious painting? this year is going to be the 15th anniversary of IAMP.

The call for auditions was uploaded September 22, 2009, and if I recall correctly my audition as artist and VA was accepted around October or November of that same year. I've grown a lot as an artist and as a person in that long time and for some weird reason I just can't let these guys go.

anyway, thanks for everyone who participated in the roulette, I know it doesn't seem like a big deal but I really struggle drawing all of these guys without losing steam. it really helped! especially since I don't do a lot of gouache work and I second guessed myself a lot. It warms my heart a little to see you guys engaged in this silly game.

what else is there to say. oh yeah, I put two types of maple leafs. the stereotypical sugar maple is in the upper right of course, but I also put a manitoba maple in the lower left because that's the kind of maple I'm most familar with where I'm from. it's long been my mission to bring the western rep in whatever I do, so it's kind of my love letter signature to my own constantly changing understanding of Who Am I and Where Am I From.

from my experience with laptops it sounds like 1. your graphics card is dying. 2. the battery and/or the power supply is failing. this isn't your fault of course. laptops are just too small and the parts eventually fail because they generate too much heat. i recommend building/buying a pc based on baldurs' gate 3's top specs. you can get a ryzen 3600/(nice upgrade would be a 5600 or 5600x) 16gb (3200 or 3600 speed) ram/ b550 motherboard/ 2060 super (or a 3060) /1tb ssd/a pc case, and a 550 w psu for a reasonable price on ebay. i've also seen if you look up "2060 super desktop pc" on ebay they go for very reasonable prices too. the increased size of the computer should help your game performance too. the good thing about pcs as well is you can upgrade them as you need to. ^ this is my experience as someone also struggling with income. people make pc building sound so complicated but it is actually more consumer friendly than buying a premade pc or laptop. especially if you buy the parts secondhand. this is just a baseline suggestion. you can even get 32gb ddr4 ram at a good price second hand which should help with your art and gaming. and you can upgrade with more storage. either a 2tb ssd later.

As much as I'd love a desktop PC, I live in rural Nova Scotia where we lose power a lot. With a laptop, I can still use it without power for a short while and take it somewhere to get charged if necessary.

But judging by what you said, it sounds like I need to take out a loan and get a new one for sure, then.

Nova Scotia has announced it is extending rent control for the next two years, with higher yearly increases allowed.

In a Wednesday release, the province said the new temporary rent cap will be increased to five per cent per year, beginning Jan. 1, 2024 until the end of 2025.

“Nova Scotians are facing challenging financial times, and that factors greatly in every decision we make,” said Service Nova Scotia Minister Colton LeBlanc in the release.

“We are always working to balance the rights and needs of tenants and landlords. Extending the rent cap by two years will protect renters while adjusting the amount rent can increase will support landlords,” he wrote.

This comes as the current rent control legislation, limiting residential rent increases to two per cent per year, is set to expire in December. [...]

(including both so they're not as big. art's by my cousin soul <3)

i said earlier in the wips about how i like the trope where stoic characters have the same facial expression for everything- I just think it's funny that for Ben his sole expression is ^_^

joel saying "great to have you back home" is referring to ben being on the east coast / in his element, i'm not conflating NL with the Maritimes I promise.

that said I think they know him well enough that they can tell when he's PISSED lol. I feel like Ben tends to mask his anger a lot (which is why I showed his anger in a reflection rather than on his face in part 6 above there.

but yeah the point of this page is kind of. "ben isnt an idiot and he was genuinely mad and everyone knew it". well. everyone except bertie obviously.
