2; Pokemon is very powerful. One day I will get the opportunity play an actual game but until then I will vibe and adore the pixel art style of the old games :]

3; help I created another newsies AU and it's me throwing them into Minecraft. they're now soldiers of Dogwarts after they escape the city. Racer and Sparrow are Watchers and somehow magicked their pokemon from the games into real life. Spot has the most tragic backstory. Smalls is a mako shark hybrid. Finch is a finch hybrid for no reason other then shits and giggles. I actually put thought into Jack and Crutchie with symbolism and reasons. Kathrine is a cat but not in the nice, shy, polite way, but in the vaguely demonic and full of chaos way.

The nameless ghoul lurks just beyond the scope of human sight. He has been watching Viktor for some time now, from afar, his un-ghoul-like curiosity getting the better of him. What Viktor did was none of the creature's concern; after all, he was from Hell itself! Anyway. The ghoul hemmed and hawed and threw on his human glamour, suddenly appearing as a perfectly normal scrawny pale punk of indeterminable age and origin- Phil. And this ghoul- this Phil- reaches out and touches a set of tally mark scars, eyes wide with wonder and jealousy.

Viktor really is just minding their own business for once, a boon to everyone else in the city for the time being: calmly sitting against a wall with their eyes closed, humming a song they used to have a practiced routine for, with their fingers running along the scars on one arm and counting them in reverence. As one does, of course.

And then they are suddenly not alone.

Viktor very nearly jumps right out of their skin, but it only shows to the outside world as a stiff jerk in their shoulders as a strange sensation— touching? who, touching, why— skitters across their flesh like electricity from just that one touch alone. Their eyes bolt open cold and icy and sharp, and their mouth snaps into a growling sneer like a cat baring teeth. They're expecting Batman or someone similarly ready to punch them and give them a dental appointment—

But the intrusion and the offense of someone touching without permission are... lessened as their senses come back to them and the bad tingles ebb away.

No, no, in front of them, they do recognize the shape after a moment or two. Well, alright, they'd only seen him maybe once or twice, but really a face so very-normal-and-not-at-all-conspicuous like his hilariously stands out like a sore thumb around here. And besides, they never forget a face.

They blink and while the sneer drops like a hot rock, it is so swiftly replaced by a face that is as vexed as it is curious and confused, which is certainly an interesting mix, then their eyes follow his hand down to where it touched: a set of tallies.

And there was such... clear fascination in his eyes! They collect themself and work out a smirk and a measured air of pleasantness. In fact, they lower the knife that had definitely been very ready to find someone's kidney about two seconds ago. No, Phil could keep that. For now.

"Ah, why, look who it is! You. You know, it's rude to touch the artwork. Especially without asking first, my very normal dear." But, you know, they aren't exactly pulling away from his touch, just making fixed eye contact. Call them curious, but there's something so telling in the man's Emptiness, and they want to know it.

Meanwhile in Comics: The Eisners nominated a guy Thomas Woodruff four times for some dodgy-sounding comic book or something, and now it seems like everyone who has ever known him is talking about what a piece of shit he is, just as a person.  

Which is a real shame if it diminishes the Eisners, the very most important award in English-language comics, the most prestigious recognition in all of English comics, and their celebrating *check other nominations* She-Hulk, a Star Trek comic book, and Forbes magazine (?). 

I mean, teaching a generation that the Eisners are a joke seems to be the only positive education this guy’s provided anyone.  But it’s something!   (Though of course, they don’t let me vote for those, even when I thought I had a reasonable claim I should be able to, so maybe I’m tainted by that-- but I think I demonstrably thought they were a joke before that, so...).   

They sold the comic as a ‘graphic opera’ which people are making fun of-- I’m seeing like 100x more people complaining about that than how he behaved, but you know, people in American comics making fun of marketing... Uhm... yeah, we get it-- you don’t like marketing.  Message received!!!  There aren’t any readers anymore-- you won that argument!!!  We get it-- mama no like-y marketing-- no need to get a tattoo.  “Haw haw, marketing”-- you won, you won, it’s dead, stop it, it’s dead.  

But yeah, after hearing a litany of “this guy was a mess to deal with,” trad comic guys’ response seems primarily to be “yeah, yeah, whatever-- but check out what this guy calls comic books!”  I mean... a little too “true to form” there.   It’s not like the guy wrote an Iron Man comic-- you can pretend to care about him screwing with people, in daylight, where people can see you.  I’m sorry he used the wrong words to talk about your precious comix, but also, I think this guy did other stuff...??  That was bad...?  To people?  (Why are comics people always like this????  I don’t know, I just read manga now, Viz App *incredible*...).

(No one’s talking about the Hall of Fame “competition”, but how are Bud Plant and Phil Seuling not in there already???  That seems weird to me... Didn’t Phil Seuling invent the direct market?  Isn’t that kind of important???  But they have him competing with Brian Bolland, who drew some Judge Dredd’s, which is also not unimportant, but... It seems like there shouldn’t be a competition on some people-- that some things should be pretty well settled at this point!  Also, dead people seem to get in automatically, except Tim Sale who has to compete with Todd McFarlane...??? I don’t know if I follow the reasoning!  I don’t know-- not my problem-- they don’t let me vote, even though I run this prestigious blog!!!).

Hometown Thanksgiving Vibes

- Goes home before the actual break to have emergency wisdom tooth removal.

- misses 2 tests

- Needs to watch Narnia: LW&W for a Phil Psych essay

- Must also listen to a reading for said essay

- Must study for zumba test

- Want to write, like 5 things (at least one is my WIP)

- Need to buy Christmas presents for my suitemates

- Drive 30 minutes to a PT appointment for my ✨️silly little neck and back✨️

- Had a cute little 12 ounce iced matcha with pomegrant from the coffee shop in a small town that finally opened on my way home

- Am contemplating existance

- Saw the contractor/father of multiple kids I went to grade and hs with at the coffee shop.

- Yee Haw at least my mouth don't hurt to bad right now

- It may snow Saturday and I gotta go back to school Sunday
