We have recently installed this very fun and colorful wallpaper in our balcony and we got it from Photowall. They offer wall murals, photo wallpapers, and canvas prints. You also have the option to have it personalized if you can't choose among their available designs. But as for me, I immediately fell in love with this Rainbow Seeds Flowers 1 design. Helpful tip: Before ordering your wallpaper, make sure to measure the wall correctly and then add 5 to 10 cm allowance.

I ordered on August 24 and my wallpaper is already out for shipping on August 25. It was shipped out on Wednesday and I was able to receive it on Monday. I commend them for the very fast shipping to the Philippines even though the product is from Sweden.

Here is the before photo for your reference. I got the size 201x248 cm. And below, I will shre the steps that we did to install the wallpaper.

Materials:

Prepare the tools that you will need. I prepared a bucket of water, measuring cup, foam roller or paint brush, any old plastic card, and cloth to wipe the excess glue.

Procedure:

1. Upon opening of the box, unroll your wallpaper and cut the wallpaper according to number. They will come in panels for easier installation.

2. Prepare your wall and wipe it to make sure it's clean and free from any dirt.

3. Mix your wallpaper paste and water. Check the label on the pouch regarding how many liters you will need. In our case, it was 4L of water. Upon mixing, you will notice that it will become thicker and more like a glue consistency.

4. Apply the glue using a foam roller or a paint brush on the space where you will put your first panel. It is best to start on the left-side most and that will be your panel # 1.

5. When the space already has enough paste, allign the top part of the wallpaper and make sure it is straight because the rest of your panels will rely onto this.

6. Carefully lay your wallpaper downwards while using the card to remove any bubbles or air inside.

7. At this point, you will then just have to repeat this procedure depending on how many wallpaper panels you have.

Here's our new wallpaper once again and I am truly in love with it. It looks great in our balcony along with my plants.

Homeowner arrives home to a VERY unwelcome surprise – thanks to rogue robot vacuum

Robots are the future when it comes to cleaning our homes, apparently. Forget Mr Muscle, robots are the ones doing the jobs we hate. But as this homeowner found out the hard way, these smart gadgets don’t always do the jobs without causing their fair share of mayhem.

Samantha Smith got a very unwelcome surprise when she returned home, to find her robot vacuum cleaner had set off to clean the floors and in the process ‘dragged’ a tin of paint around the kitchen – black paint nonetheless.

The result is FAR from a masterpiece. When things don’t go to plan with smart cleaning gadgets…

It’s every homeowners worst nightmare, black paint spilled all over immaculate white floor tiles! (Insert horrified emoji face here).

‘I set “bop bop” off in the morning – we have cats, so its great to get random hay bails of cat fur. We live in an apartment so he vacuums the whole place’ explains Samantha. ‘We had been doing touch ups during lockdown with my Abigail Ahern Hudson Black paint in the sitting room. We had the tin and brushed etc to one side waiting to be put away,’ she explains. You can see where this story is going! ‘I came home and ‘bop bop’ had knocked it over then dragged it round the kitchen!’

Her immediate reaction was, as you can imagine, unprintable. But she remained calm because she knew that it could be cleaned up.

Miraculously she just used soapy water to clean up the water-based paint.

Luckily for Samantha she’s a tile expert – working as a design consultant at Westerhope Tile Centre so tiles are pretty much her life she tells Ideal Home.

Samantha tells us ‘there’s nothing I don’t know about tiles. Soapy water and that’s it! I did also have a spray bottle of just normal kitchen cleaner too but the soapy water was good. Didn’t take long to clean, just a bit longer than cleaning the floor normally.’

Fortunately because she knew it would clean off Samantha was able to see the funny side. ‘I did laugh. I knew it would come off the tiles as they are porcelain, the grout is epoxy grout so it’s tougher than cement based grouts’ It’s for this reason that the paint didn’t stain the pristine grout either.

Thank goodness Samantha is a tile expert is all we can say.

Love our kitchen but during the week it's a lonely place along with the rest of the apartment! The husband is missing!!

Working away sucks. It never gets easier, if anything it gets worse! But they say every cloud… mine is that he's not here to stop me eating share bags of sweets, tubs of ice cream, watching queer eye and not hoovering!!
