yeah well first of all we probably couldn't wipe these particular creatures out if we tried, considering that most of the weirder species live deeper underwater than we can easily go

second of all killing an entire species would throw the whole ecosystem out of wack that's like ecology 101

second of all. uh. i don't know how to explain to you that you that you should care about other living things. even the ugly ones. we can't just pick and choose which species we care about, it was fucked up when we killed dodos and thylacines, it's fucked up when we're killing... all the numerous things that we're killing, and it would be fucked up if we killed weird sharks. those are your planetmates, fellow creatures, and distant evolutionary cousins show some fucking respect

listen kid i just fucking woke up. im gonna need you to remember i spent my 100+ year life thinking the only thing that mattered was my species. i never knew what animals were other than horses until now. hardly knew what a plant was. everyone was born and raised to believe that any living thing outside of us was dangerous and to be destroyed. we didnt like it? it died. simple as that.

second, i just dont know these things. we arent from the same planet. we didnt grow up learning the same things. i dont know what ecology even is, so dont get snappy with me by saying this is “ecology 101”

and last i know i should care about living things. i did. i still do. im a murderer and an asshole but not a fucking madman. i cared about my friends. i cared about my family. im not sitting here saying you should go out and kill these animals. im allowed to be freaked out by things.
