Ren hadn't expected the stars to be so different here.

Sure, the Empires server is different. He knows that. He's known that since the day he crawled out of Pixlriffs's crypt, covered in dirt and knowing only kings rested there. But the stars...

Ren has spent a lot of time looking at the stars. Not on HCS9, not anymore- after furtive nights of glancing at their normal-sized moon, he's decided it's best not to think about it, and the simulation means all the HC planet's stars are the same- but nights in HCS8 and the Hermitheus were both spent with eyes turned to the dark. He hadn't exactly had much else that was important to look at, after all. He doesn't know too much, but he knows where certain stars should be at certain coordinates, where other spaces are bare. So a new sky is... odd.

It's a thought that leaves his mind until the day he steals away to grab their genesis block, leaving HCS9 and its stars behind.

The constellations are different here. Some of the rulers had pointed important ones out for navigation- the Lady of Seas pointing to a mining desert, the Sculptor's Hand leading to Tumble Town. The Campfire at spawn, a constellation passed down for thousands of years.

He wonders, if he took a rocket into space and searched, if he'd find those stars burned out.

It had happened on the Hermitheus, when he and Doc got bored and tried to find the constellations in space. The star everyone had agreed upon as their guiding star, Centhermit, is long gone, a white dwarf whose light is still brilliant in their sky. The Crawler that he and Doc had built Octagon under was missing three joints, legs left as stumps of single stars. The Eyechipelago the Big Eye crew made up only boasts a single "eye" now, every other scattered star faded. He can't help but think about it whenever he looks up at the Hermit sky.

But this is different. This is a sky of unfamiliar stars, still bright and untouched by his knowledge. It's an odd thought.

Maybe one day, just for fun, he can come back here. He can build a spaceship and take people up into the cosmos. Pixlriffs would be on board with it, he's pretty sure. Maybe the goblin FWhip, too, or the god Joel who rules the sky. He could take them to see their constellations with their own eyes, to see if their stars were still burning bright.

... It's a silly thought. He gets back to mining until the deepslate of a genesis block is cool in his hands.

p sure I already said this but we need to do more with how many times Grian talks to ghosts, especially in 3L/LL. The bdubs summoning. Telling Scar the ghosts want blood and repeating Ren’s “only one life left” after scar’s death in the 3L finale. The whole ‘I Love You’ thing after Scar died in 100hrs. How are we not milking this for all its worth cmon people
