“Amazing…” Before her a little boy cooed, his amethyst eyes softly glowing under the low light. He sat in the lap of an older man, a smile quietly accenting the elder’s lips. There was a frailness to the father, as he turned pages of parchment and looked over his son’s head to scan the contents. Clearly built for some hard labor, but with not much bulk behind his strength. They sat in a simple room, a pillow the only respite from a hard ground. Nearby lay a floor bed, sized for two and neatly prepared for the coming night’s rest.

“You like these?” He motioned out to various sketches, mostly of knives with intricate flourishes. Each was annotated with specific dimensions, notes of potential processes scrawled all around the diagrams. At the question, the boy nodded energetically,

“Have you made any of these yet, Fair?”

“Not yet.” He said, hand coming to rest on the boy’s shoulder, “Maybe some day. It is one sword for others, then one sword for ourselves. We might not make our way otherwise…”

“Can you make me a sword?”

“Gods…” The man laughed, an understated thing, “No, Wei. Emai would have me murdered. She would do it herself.”

“No she wouldn’t! She’d let me?” The father ruffled his son’s long hair,

“When you are older, I’m sure we will make you a sword or two.” Though this didn’t satisfy the boy, who turned to scramble around on his father. The man winced, bracing against the floor as he tolerated the child’s knees to his legs,

“Fair! But what if I want a sword now?”

“Boy…” He took a stiff breath, “Some day.”

“But what if I want to now?” Exerting his weight some more against the man’s chest, his father finally yelped against the energy of the child in his lap,

“Wei…”

“… Huh?” Self-aware of all his squirming, the child finally backed off, “Are you okay?” But the man took his time, much to the growing dismay on the child’s face. Though pained, the father forced a smile back to his features as he trembled back into a more sturdy position. He turned to his side, still bracing with his forearm and seemingly unable to rise under his own power,

“I am okay… You just need to be careful, boy. I’m not young like you.”

“I’m sorry. You don’t look old, like O-fa and O-ma?”

“My back’s older than me.” He mumbled, “But thank you. I’m glad I don’t look… old.”

“Did I hurt you?”

“No.” He lied, clearly struggling even after a moment spent off balance, “Wei, go get Emai. I want to show her... the blades too.”

“O-Okay!” Without needing a second word, the boy scrambled off, leaving his father to shuffle himself over to bed in his peripherals.

after pain

They had done it-- they won! Bias and Kronya were no more, Ferdinand and Lealaps were hard at work saving the data before it was deleted. Patty knew little about...whatever this stuff was, so she just had to hope Laelaps knew what he was doing!

Her body ached from the fight, though she was far from being the roughest in shape. Seeing her allies like this reminded her of the past: back in Jugdral, when they’d go from castle to keep in an attempt to free everyone who suffered under Emperor Arvis’ rule-- those who suffered from the ways of Loptous and his followers. So many innocent children sacrificed just for religion, while their saviours were children themselves.

Adults caused all of their problems, and their offsprings were meant to clean up after them? It was sickening. It wasn’t fair! It wasn’t--

Suddenly all the pain fades away, and Patty is left feeling numb. Her body stays still while her mind is running. What-- what was going on!? The room she was in melts, and her friends (...they were friends, right?) blurred into smears of oil paint as the scene changed. 

It’s warm-- no, scorching hot, and she is running like her life depends on it; and when she turns around, she realizes it does. Magic is fired at her from the Yied Shrine, and swordsman are quick on her tail. All of the voices are nothing more than white noise to her...except for one. Shannan of Isaach, the young man who had been following her since she stole the Shrine’s treasure. When he catches up, he grips her by the shoulders, staring at her with those intense eyes. 

“Hey, stop it! Get your hands off me!” She shrieks, and he loosens his grip ever so slightly-- but not enough for her to slip between his fingers. “Look, I’m not going to hurt you! Just return that sword to me.” He tries so hard to remain calm, but she can hear it: his voice is shaking, and his body is tense. Shannan had been just as scared as she was. Patty opens her mouth to ask him if he’s really Prince Shannan, but soon all she can do is shriek.

Blood. Blood covered the swordsman’s torso, the shining tip of a blade, now coloured crimson, poking through his chest. While his eyes remain open, they are lifeless. The intensity fades, and all that is left are dark, empty pools...he was already dead. Her body is frozen as he slumps against her, lifeless, as the man who had killed the poor Prince was now staring her down. All she could do was close her eyes as the pain surged through her body.

No, that wasn’t what happened! Shannan survived in the battle at Yied, and obviously she did as well. This memory didn’t belong to her! And yet...the pain in her chest, both emotional and physical said otherwise.

The scene changes once more, now to a proper battlefield with nature destroyed by the blood of both enemies and allies alike. The rebellion fought so hard, and yet it seemed as if the battle would never come to an end, not with King Blume still sitting in his castle having others do his dirty work. 

A bright light shone through the crowd of soldiers, and Patty what this dirty trick from the enemy was...until it faded, revealing a young man she knew all too well. He pulled back the string of the bow, and while he feigned confidence, Patty could see him shake-- it was so subtle, but as his sister, she always saw the little details.

It hits her all too late that the bow is pointed not just at any old rebellion soldier, but their leader. What-- what was Febail doing!? There’s no way he’d be working for Blume, why would he!? Her feet move on their own, running through the field with a shout, “FEBAIL!”

Everything stops. The entire world around her crumbles under her feet, and the pained scream of Lord Seliph are nothing more than the static of the data centre. Was she back? Was this torture finally over?

When she opens her eyes, it’s nearly blinding. Candles and lamps light the room, a fancy dinning room, not that she’s ever seen one before. It’s strange-- she has no idea where this is, but it feels like home. All the pain, mistrust and anger she’s built up for so long fades away, leaving only a feeling that could be akin to how she felt when she hugged her brother when they were younger...

“Patty?” Her name snaps her out of her thoughts, and she realizes she is not alone at the table. It was Febail who spoke her name, crossing his arms as he smiles in a way that can’t help but make her laugh. Next she spotted Lana and Lester enjoying themselves and then...Aunt Edain? There was a man sitting next to her that Patty didn’t recognize at all...could that be...?

Someone else laughs, and it’s a voice she’s heard before, but only ever once; and it had been recently. Patty saw him once at the academy before, and his resemblance to Edain was striking. She had heard of her uncle, and perhaps seen a portrait or two, but wasn’t he dead? There was no way--

“Patty, sweetheart?” It’s like sweet music to her ears. A voice that she’s never heard before, but it felt so familiar-- so comforting. No one has ever called her by such a name, and normally if someone other than a handsome man said it she would be upset...but this woman’s words made her melt in her seat.

A blonde, goddess among women, who looked refined and yet could hold her own should it come down to it. She was everything she thought of when people told stories of her mother-- a Lady and a pirate. Her...her mother was alive as well!? She opens her mouth to respond, but the words can’t come out-- not when she sees a man by her side, looking at her as if she were a prized jewel begging to be pocketed. His face...she had never seen him before, and he didn’t seem to be an uncle of hers, that was for certain. “...D...dad?”

She has no time to think when she’s soon returned to her reality, shaking and crying. Patty was a big girl-- she knew how to hold back her tears! Sadness was truly the weakest emotion, and a thief like her couldn’t afford to look weak.

And yet...it wouldn’t stop. No matter how hard she tried, her tears continued to fall to the floor, Patty herself not too far behind. It was pathetic, sitting on the ground and wailing her sorrows away, but all of those things-- all of those memories-- they felt so real.

She had never felt so scared, so hurt, and yet so loved in her life.

The Untamed, episode 43 - watching notes

The sun is setting on this show for me and I'm not ready to say goodbye yet 😔

Last time on Sophie watches the untamed: We're still in the restricted section. The twin love-struck idiots of lan and wwx found the Collection of turmoil and suspect Jin Guangyao of intentionally bringing about Nie Mingjue's qui deviation.

As much as I love the "hihi. Wwx is wearing his boyfriend's underrobe" aspect of this, I also like the visual incorporation of lwj's colour scheme into wwx's clothes. (Not just through the undertone, his black tone also has slight grey seam.) It's as if now that they are finally fully committed to each other, wwx is displaying it for all the world to see

Jin Guangyao tore out a page to hide the evidence. That's not how to do that!!!

My heart is breaking for Lan Xichen. He looks like a man standing on a train track and watching the light speed towards him in horror while he's unable to move away

Feels like exactly no one on this show is getting their happy ending

Aaand another freeze frame. But I'm willing to forgive it because THIS EPISODE WAS SO GODDAMN BRILLIANT!

It made me realise why I was so drawn to lan Wangji as a character. Of course he is mu favourite character! He ticks every single box

Let me explain. My favourite characters almost always share the following characteristics: seems either cold and distant or ethereal and aloof, as if they are above such puny human things like feelings™️(bonus if they're actually not human and their argument is "I'm [insert species]. We can't feel [insert emotion they are definetly feeling very strongly]"). then, over the course of the story, we (along with they themselves because they were in denial) discover that it's not that they feel too little, they feel entirely too much. They're a sea of emotions so deep that the surface is calm, but don't you dare be near them when the storm is coming because all hell will break loose. (extra bonus point if that storm involves them rebelling against the oppressive society they were born into and adhered to until then because they realise their consciousness won't allow it any longer.) afterwards they realise that making themselves vulnerable once in a while is actually a good thing and they proceed to fuck the Rebel™️ who they've secretly been in love with the entire time, a feeling they only now allow themselves to act on

The last part sadly isn't always canon, but who has ever had time for that?

You know what this episode made me realise most of all? The Lan sect are just as human as the rest of them. In fact, they seem to be especially prone to acting rashly on strong emotions. (I don't remember the exact story, but didn't the founder of the Lan sect also have some kind of tragic love story?) It should be obvious, but the impression you get is that they are so detached from their wants, so rigorous and disciplined in their righteousness, that they are almost super-human. But no. Thise 3000 and some rules? They weren't born out of some enlightened mind that had the secret of live figures out, they're a crutch. Abiding by them without question rids one of responsibility to make even the tiniest moral choice for oneself. But that won't work because a) they're bounty to contradict each other at some point and b) that's not how human beings work. They're messy and unpredictable and beautifully complicated. The way Lan Qiren choses to apply them, he completely disregards that. At that point, the rules aren't there anymore to grant a harmonious society, but simply for their own sake. (Or maybe as a wall to hide behind)

i realize now this coffin scene was inevitable. feel kinda weird about hua cheng  back and forth from Teen to Big Man but it is very funny that theyre having their “dude dont look at my boner” moment while in the jaws of a water dragon

Xie Lian lifted the blanket covering Qi Rong, suppressed the urge to smother his face, and covered the two small children.” - xie lian funny moments. also it would be really funny if qi rong redeems himself by learning love through these misfit chiildren and it might actually endear me to him but i hope that doesnt happen

i did see spoilers re: ming yi/he xuan reveal + shi wudu’s fate beforehand so i dont have a genuine reaction other than oh shit

“He slowly enunciated each word. “I won’t touch your fate. But, here in this place, chop off your brother’s head for me.”  CLANG! He threw a rusty blade onto the ground. Shi Qingxuan stared at that blade, his eyes wide. He Xuan continued, “Then, never show yourself before me again, and I will pretend you’ve never existed in this world.” - okay idk what else is going to happen but rn im concerned that this is like the 2nd biggest ship. i guess we’ll see?? i mean i am really curious whats going to happen to them. shi qingxuan keeps calling he xuan “ming-xiong” and i... sad

shi wudu im not really invested in you as a character but these next two bits... interesting

“If I don’t die but have nothing, then that’s truly a fate worse than death. If I’m not the Water God, I can’t take care of you. I won’t even be able to protect myself. I’m scared that we won’t even last two days…TAKE IT!” - damn. something about the wealthy losing everything and not knowing how to live without it bc thats their entire life and identity

“EVERYTHING I HAVE TODAY, I FOUGHT FOR MYSELF. I WILL FIGHT FOR WHAT I DON’T HAVE. I WILL CHANGE FATE I DON’T POSSESS. MY FATE IS UP TO ME AND NOT THE HEAVENS!” - okay so the whole committing spiritual fraud by tormenting a man and his family to get your brother a cushy title thing aside this was kind of badass. heretical? possibly. but still. also is he intentionally riling up he xuan so sqx doesnt have to kill him? if so damn...

also okay as long as im here im just gonna say it. the choice that he xuan gives shi qingxuan is fucking brutal but i actually think its probably as fair as it could be. sqx didnt know about or participate in what happened to hx but they did benefit from it greatly while hx lost EVERYTHING and i can understand he xuan’s thinking of “if you really feel bad for what happened to me then you have to make a sacrifice and understand the suffering and this is as clean as its going to get” and theres a bit where sqx is trying to beg for mercy but cant get the words out which im guessing is bc theres no good argument!! what happened was fucked up!!

didnt take any notes but somewhere in here was the bit with mount tong’lu opening and hua cheng losing it and kind of um. hm. that scene. thats another trope i really hate tbh i dont care for it as a way of including physical intimacy between characters and idk if it really ever adds anything but whatever moving on

this book is so entertaining bc i already saw spoilers for the feng xin/jian lan/cuo cuo reveal and yet i could never have predicted the circumstances that brought it about. imagine being feng xin. the heavens are in an uproar and your only friend/enemy has been jailed for possible fetus spirit-related crimes but he escapes along with this female ghost who keeps causing problems. you figure “fuck it lets see if dianxia kept his old phone number” and he has but then he hangs up on you. you’ve got fuckall else to do so you go find him. mu qing is there but he’s in his disguise the two of you were using so you could watch over his highness while staying aloof. you think you see hua cheng only he’s a chiild for some goddamn reason but who knows at this point. the female ghost is also there and theres a fetus spirit climbing trees and biting your arrows in half. you realize the female ghost is your ex and the little demon is your son. it bites you. what do you do

amazing that despite everything going on everyone is still playing along with the “fu yao” persona when it would probably be easier to drop pretenses at this point. then again tbh if i could explain my actions to my friends while pretending to be a third party.... i probably would so.. carry on

Wei watches HIStory2: Right or Wrong RETROSPECTIVE

Disclaimer: this is only a retrospective because I wanted to just watch the whole thing without typing all the time. 

So I went into Right or Wrong with a relatively neutral stance because I understand that it is one of the more polarizing of the HIStory franchise. For some, it’s the age difference. For others, it’s the power imbalance. And for the rest, Fei Shang Zhe’s cuteness does a lot to soothe a lot of ruffles? Maybe that was just me. 

ANYWAY full thoughts under the cut.

The General: As per older HIStory seasons, the plot moves very fast. We went from chance meeting with Shi Yi Jie looking like a deadbeat dad, to Fei Shang Zhe’s nanny hiring, to beginnings of attraction within the first 50 min. This isn’t a record. Jack was hooked on Zhao Zi since the interrogation where Zhao Zi had the balls to sell Shao Fei out for noodles. Hell, Li Mo Bai and Lei Zhong Jun were just suddenly banging in the middle of Obsessed. Now that’s a record.

The acting is not bad, although Shi Yi Jie feels very... one note with his expressions. Even when he’s upset or mad, his face doesn’t move a lot. The “I made Wei feel bad for me and adopt me,” award goes to Fei Shang Zhe 100%. 

The side characters could use fleshing out, but they only have 2 hrs 40 min. How much fleshing out in an episodic series can you do?

The Good: I particularly liked Shang Zhe’s backstory and struggles. His present day actions and the way he handles his attraction to Yi Jie is particularly a great way to show the impact of all that. All that trouble and pain, and he’s still a very sweet boy. He just needs a push to help him get away from that last bit holding him back. Yi Jie is a little more coarse than necessary, but he was able to give it to him. 

Not entirely sure I liked how they handled Yi Jie dealing with Shang Zhe’s resistance to admitting their relationship. True, Yi Jie is older and has probably thought a lot about it before saying he’s okay with the relationship and willing to admit it to others. However, you don’t just magically get over what happened to Shang Zhe just because someone loves you. It’s hard and it’s painful. That Shang Zhe was willing to even try a relationship with Yi Jie is a lot! Still, Shang Zhe turns it around in the end and how he did so by standing up to Yi Jie’s ex was great. 

I also think the progression of their feelings was not too bad. It was definitely not unreasonable, although the tropes were a bit obvious. I’m not surprised they went for the indirect kiss thing with the beer can. I also love the scene where Shang Zhe is cooking soup and Yi Jie is just thirsting and looking at his lips. I know what you were thinking professor, you wanted him to blow something else. I get it. You’re among friends here. You can admit it.

On that note, I’m also surprised how horny Yi Jie is. I mean, yeah, he’s been divorced for years and married to his research. But that don’t mean you gotta jump the poor boy so many times in one night. He’s still recovering!

But the ending was also very sweet. I love how Yo Yo was very cute and supportive the whole way. Ah... The innocence of children. 

The Meh: So issue one that most people have with Right or Wrong is the age difference. According to the episodes, Yi Jie is twelve (12) years older than Shang Zhe. That’s not insignificant. But Shang Zhe is, at the time they start the relationship, nineteen (19). He’s a legal adult and Yi Jie says that to Shang Zhe’s mom when discussing his feelings and desire to date Shang Zhe. So even if it’s a large difference, Shang Zhe is old enough to decide for himself if he wants to date Yi Jie. However, I do think that this could have been addressed a little less flippantly other than a restriction to not have any physical hanky panky happen until his next birthday. Even if Mama Fei with the fruit knife is a very good deterrent. Relationships with large age gaps can lead to issues because the mentality of the two in the relationship is not always on the same level. The things you will find important at nineteen with your set of experiences will be different by the time you’re thirty-one. I would have liked to see something to address this concern.

The next item on this list is the handling of Yi Jie’s ex-wife, I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t entirely love it enough to make it a good point. The story goes that she demanded a divorce because she couldn’t handle being a housewife. Yo Yo was constantly sick and Yi Jie was working several jobs and thus not always able to help. Suddenly, she regrets everything and comes back and demands a place in their lives again. She’s allowed to want that. She’s allowed to have regrets. However, as her brother reminds her, no one is obligated to wait for her to decide that she regrets it. Yi Jie moved on and tells her so in no kind terms. Her going to Shang Zhe to demand he give her back Yi Jie and Yo Yo is ridiculous. They’re not his to give to her even though he claims possession of Yi Jie. They asked him to stay with them. Her decision to kidnap Yo Yo is regrettable, but not unrealistic as that does happen. 

The Bad: Was anything particularly bad but not really really bad? Hard to say. I’m left with an impression of softness after a happy ending, but I guess the more moderate of evils is Yi Jie. He cuts off Sheng Zhe’s avenues of escape by asking his mom for permission to date him. He didn’t exactly use his position as an employer and teacher to manipulate Sheng Zhe, but it’s kind of a near miss. He gets very mad for Sheng Zhe calling him “Teacher” even though it’s not wrong to technically address him that way in front of his ex-wife when he doesn’t know how the situation is going to unfold. He’s very coarse and straightforward, but surprisingly soft when he decides to take care of someone. I think Sheng Zhe deserves better, but he likes Yi Jie and Yi Jie isn’t entirely a rotten apple. He’s just got a couple of bruised bits that you might not want to bite into. 

The Ugly: Okay, this gripe sits here because like Yi Jie, I too am an educator of college age students and I can’t believe no one actually addressed this in the fucking show. It is all hells of improper for a professor to date a student while the student is in their class. I mean in general, so long as that person is a student at your institution, you should not be in any kind of romantic relationship with them because then the school becomes liable and it’s just a DO NOT DO. There’s so many people that see that this is going on between Sheng Zhe and Yi Jie and instead of being like, “BRO AT LEAST WAIT UNTIL HE FINISHES YOUR CLASS,” everyone is cheering them on. And yeah, Sheng Zhe deserves to be happy, but THE ETHICS OF THIS? RIDICULOUS? 

And then I remember that HIStory is a fantasy world where repercussions exist only if the writer wants them to and then I take a step back and say, well nothing bad actually happened and Yi Jie didn’t actually use his position as a professor to fuck with Shang Zhe’s life so we didn’t actually have any reason to flip the fuck out. He could have, but he didn’t. Thank fucking god. 

The End: So overall, I’d say I am okay with my experience with Right or Wrong. Did I love it as much as I’ve loved other parts of the HIStory series? Well, I’d still rank it above most of HIStory1 but I would still rank it lower than CTL and HIStory3 (there is no Ep 20 of MODC, Ep 20 can’t hurt us because it doesn’t exist). I have now definitely expanded my list of HIStory boys to adopt and protect and give better happy endings to. Metaphorical is fine! :) We can see who wears the pants in this relationship! Love these super cuties! Awww, they are in a hard place, and it is so good to see them talk things out as best they can. Love how Eun-Chae just says what needs to be said to her dad. He may love her, but that does not mean he is handling things the best way right now.

Min-Jae has learned well from watching his parents how important it is for a man to listen to his wife, girlfriend, or friend. He tries his best to copy everything he’s learned from them so he can be the best partner for Eun-Chae. Poor kid remembers everything ever said to him.

Eun-Chae is a little fed up with what she sees as her father’s hypocrisy. The truth is, sometimes adults made the wrong decision when they were younger so that doesn’t mean the kid gets to make the same wrong decision. But Eun-Chae knows they did everything that Rachel and Hyo-Shin did when it came to birth control. It really was an accident that their parents could’ve had if things went differently. She thinks her dad needs to get that through his head and stop blaming her beloved Min-Jae. >.>

Eun-Chae knows that she’s different but she also knows she’s not disabled or unintelligent. It hurts a little for her father to see her that way. So she’s angry and going to push back until he remembers that her differences don’t make her weak or vulnerable. 

Hyo-Shin is not really prepared for this >.>

I was wondering about Eun-Chae’s medication, whether she was going to stop. It was helping her so much too! :( Min-Jae offering to count the chips for her! (heart melts!) <3 Min-Jae has a temper! Will have to see when it comes out and how! True, what is Esther going to think/ do? Is Min-Jae the official heir of RS International? Whether he is yet or not, the news will be a scandal. Kyung-Ran and Rachel civil at this point but she would still be quick to point fingers?

It really was helping her a lot. Her main problem was the perseverating with numbers and counting. It would hold her attention at the expense of other stimulation from the people around her. That’s why Min-Jae just waits for her to finish. Interrupting won’t do anything but make her start over and if she can’t complete whatever it is she needs to count, she can have a meltdown. The medication blocked that off.

But medications like that come with birth defects. She is going back and forth right now about the pregnancy and since she doesn’t know what she wants, she’s trying to be responsible and not take the medication. She can do this though because she knows Min-Jae will step up and help her. That’s why they had to talk about this first step and why she’s insistent that Min-Jae has to come with her for the study abroad opportunity.

Min-Jae is not the official heir to RS International though. Esther plans on announcing him when she retires as president and Rachel takes over. Since Esther doesn’t know about the pregnancy yet, she’s actually concerned that Min-Jae is taking the summer off to go with Eun-Chae and not starting his first internship.

And this scandal will very much affect Rachel’s standing in the company. There will be people who think she’s not fit to run a company if she can’t stop her teenage son from getting his girlfriend pregnant. Esther is going to flip out. Kyung-Ran is going to flip out. And lot of people will blame Rachel.

That is why she is waiting for Eun-Chae’s decision regarding the pregnancy before she makes any plans or tells anyone outside the immediate family. They haven’t even told Ye-Sol and Myung-Soo. (So-Young is on lockdown from talking about it with Ji-Yi.)

Rachel is not pointing this out to Min-Jae because he does have a temper and she doesn’t want him to lose it in public. All of Min-Jae’s fights have been when someone has disparaged his mother, sister, or Eun-Chae. He’s yelled at Kyung-Ran before (more than just when he was a toddler) and he’s tried to fire staff he thinks are rude or spying on his family. He remembers everything he hears and can repeat it.

But everyone is quick to point out that he has Rachel’s temper and not Young-Do’s ^^;;

Fun to see the before story! :) Yay for parents seen children’s gifts and honoring their wants too! <3 Awwww! Disagreement, then making up! Sounds like a real marriage! :D Snuggling always good! I just smile when I see QR YoungRa happy!!! :D How long has Min-Jae known that he wasn’t the best choice for Zeus? So mature! Did he have a conversation with So-Young? (oh, that would be fun to see! So-Young, you should run Zeus. Yes, yes, I should.) ;)

Yay! I want them to have a sense of authenticity around them. They are happy now. There are many more good days than bad. Lots of snuggling and sexy times.

Min-Jae got a sense of it when he was around twelve but he’s been holding it back because he thought his dad would realize it and make the change on his own. When it was clear that wasn’t happening, he decided to say something. Min-Jae did not talk to So-Young. He didn’t want her to feel like he was giving her the spot as Zeus’ heir even though that’s exactly what happened and So-Young figured it out.

But if they did have a conversation, that’s exactly how it would go >.>

This was a conversation the parents needed to have and Rachel got to express her frustration with Young-Do’s sexist blindspot (on multiple occasions because she does not mess around or let him forget it.) But they are trying. Neither of them really had a choice about what to pursue in life but they rose well to the challenge. Min-Jae and So-Young have always known they would be heirs to one of the companies. The only dissatisfaction they really experienced was being set up for the wrong company.
