can i just say that i love how each alt version of characters in Sonic Prime represent each of their og characters distinguished traits, but all in ways so they have slightly distinct personalities

Tails:

Nine: technological genius and insecure scared child

Mangey: brave and lives his friends to death

Sails: loyal, and smart

Knuckles:

Renegade Knucks: loyal and caring but also defensive

Gnarly: quick to jump to conclusions

Dread: loves shiny things and wants to protect them so much to the point he fights anyone he deems a threat, even his close friends; but he does have a fun side

Amy:

Rusty Rose: someone you absolutely do not want to mess with

Thorn Rose: loves nature and will protect it with her life, also feisty and fights for what she believes is right

Black Rose: loyal to her friends and a fantastic leader

Rouge:

Rebel: knows what she wants and will do what she needs to do to get it

Prim: one sided and takes what she wants

Batten: loyal and has a golden heart, but also isnt afraid of causing bloodshed

Big

New Yolk Big: good heart and friendly

Hangry Cat: hungry boy

Catfish: scared

(even tho, each alt version of big isnt really all that different)

Eggman:

Mr. Dr. Eggman: the ruler and overlord Eggman wants to be

Dr. Babbles: his rage and cruelty as well as being a sore loser

Dr. Done It: genuine concern for Sonic and his friends at times, and thinking he knows what hes doing

Dr. Deep: arrogance

Dr. Don't: overconfidence, and technical genius

I love the thought put into each version of the characters, instead of it just being "pirate knuckles" or "jungle amy", they have names and are theyre own characters

They may have ended up Sonics friends in the end, but that doesnt mean they are the same characters

I love this show, wish i got into it sooner

Do you think if the Shatterverse variants ever see Sonic again, they'll be slightly more protective of him? Like hovering around him almost constantly and assuring his safety without telling him and not letting him hit the ground if he falls etc.

The last time they saw him, he was weak and faded and dying. Never again.

“Come on, Mangey.” Prim sighed, placing a hand on her hip as she grabbed the bridge of her nose. The mentioned fox tilted his head at the bat. “It's only three letters.”

“I thought he'd get ‘fly’ immediately.” Gnarly grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest. “Considering that's what he does now.”

“He can say feelings just fine, but can't get fly.” Thorn mumbled, shifting slightly against Birdie. The group were relaxing in the treehouse, soaking in the warm sun.

Mangey was curled up in the newest member’s lap, a scruffy blue hedgehog with incredibly messy quills. They'd met him when the little fox had wandered off one day without letting any of them know. The hedgehog had found him asleep in a pile of mud and managed to bring him back to the group safe and sound.

“Maybe he's just not ready yet.” The hedgehog, Spirit, suggested. He was idly scratching the fox's ear, leaning against a tree. “I mean, I couldn't talk until I was thirteen.”

“Really?” Prim asked, let the hand on her nose fall to her side. “What got you talking?”

“I don't think there was a specific thing.” Spirit shrugged, “My brother and sister tried for years to get me to talk. Nothing different happened. I just couldn't talk one day and then the next it was the easiest thing in the world.”

“So you're saying we're gonna have to wait until he's thirteen for him to talk?” Gnarly asked, clearly not happy about waiting.

“Maybe. Or shorter or longer or maybe even never at all.” The teen looked down at the kit in his lap, smiling when he saw him sleepily rub his eyes. “He'll talk again when he's ready. Nothing we can do but wait.”

Mangey let out a squeaky yawn before deciding to fully curl into a ball atop the hedgehog’s lap. The soft petting made him sleepy.

Spirit smiled fondly at the kid, reaching over to grab a piece of fabric to use as a makeshift blanket.

“Guess we can't argue that.” Prim mumbled with a shrug, looking back over her shoulder. “Hangry’s been gone a while. I'm gonna go check on him.”

“I'll come with you.” Thorn decided, already on her feet before the bat could refuse her company. Prim went to question it, but stopped when she noticed Spirit was starting to drift off too.

“You come too, Gnarly.” She quietly said instead, motioning for the echidna to follow. He looked confused, but followed the girls with only a few grumbles.

hey you ever think about how in the green-verse, prim seemed to automatically take up the position of leader after thorn kicked them out? how she was always the first one to bring her up even though she could never say her actual name, despite definitely knowing it? how she calls her a monster that can’t be reasoned with, insisting on it because otherwise how could she do this to them? how she was always the first one to get agitated at the thought of her? how she’s the one to stop mangey from going to her and insists she can’t be saved, how when she tells the story she looks to the ground? how she sees it as thorn choosing the jungle over them? how she calls her a monster cause it’s easier than thinking of her as the same person she was before?

how she and thorn both were extremely quick to manipulate sonic for their own gain (prim to get supplies, thorn to get the shard)? how they both really do care about the life they protect and will do anything to do what they think is right? how they both so stubbornly stick to their goals they can’t even begin to imagine the other side of things? but you can tell that despite them showing the least sadness at the thought of each other they so desperately want to mend things, thorn is even about to spill during sonic’s therapy sesh until gnarly jumps the gun? how prim is the first one to speak after hearing thorn’s side? how they are both the first to reach out to each other at the end, the first to step to each other and they have mirrored poses, one arm grabbing the other, before reaching out for each other?

how both of them, in telling the story, hesitate before saying they were friends?

do you ever think about what “prim” is short for? what it’s famously short for, specifically in the dystopian genre after suzanne collins started a wildfire known as the hunger games? do you know what the first part of that name, prim, actually means? coming from prima, meaning “first”, then combined with the suffix it’s...

and then do you think about how sonic and tails’s relationship establishes that interspecies adoption/families are a thing in the sonicverse?
