The Acting Studio was founded in Lutz, FL and is owned by husband and wife team, Victoria and Dan Watson. Victoria is a USF graduate with two degrees in Performing Arts and Theater Education and has over 25 years of experience in the industry. She has worked with local prestigious private schools such as Berkley Prep and Corbett Prep as a Theater Instructor. Victoria then worked for the well respected Cranbrook Theater School in Michigan, as the Director of the Junior Division and Main Stage Performances.

Dan graduated from USF with degrees in Vocal Performance and Choral Music Education. Dan has over 25 years of experience in Musical Theater Education and has taught locally at private schools such as Berkley Prep in Tampa. Dan also worked for Cranbrook Theater School in Michigan as the Musical Director.

The Acting Studio uses a curriculum called "relevant art instruction focused on self-esteem". This translates to each student being trained in a nurturing environment to reach their full potential. We teach teamwork and peer support and our teachers feel it is their job to help every student achieve their personal best in an atmosphere free of judgement or competition among their peers. Music Theory and History

There are various options for studying music history and theory outside of repertoire. Books such as Music Theory and History Workbook and Basic Music Theory and History for Strings provide a curriculum to follow with a student. There are also strictly music theory books tailored to individual instruments such as the All For Strings series and Alfred's Basic Piano Library. Another option is encouraging kids to read children's books about specific composers such as Mozart: The Boy Who Changed the World With His Music (National Geographic World History Biographies), and Who Was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart? Understanding the rules within which a work was created, as well as the background of its composer, serves to enhance the student’s musical performance.
