Hi! I sent in an ask a long time ago about helping me figure out my pumakin memories, and it's worked; I understand a lot more about it, now. So, months later, I come to you with a different sort of request: what are the best ways of finding one's canonmates? I nearly did, once (a sibling for the puma), but it turned out that several key details didn't add up in the end.

Hiya! First off, I’m so glad you’ve been able to figure out your kintype!!! That’s fantastic!

Second off, finding canonmates are kinda tricky at first. Start in the community finding other pumas! Make some friends! Ask them about anything they remember, and try not to ask leading questions like “did x have blue eyes” but instead “do you know what colour x’s eyes were”. It’ll help see what memories line up! And remember, memory is a fickle thing. If tiny details don’t line up, that’s not necessarily a reason to denounce everything.

And sometimes, you’re just not going to find your canonmates. It sucks, but sometimes they aren’t there. That doesn’t mean you should give up, but don’t push yourself too hard to try to make something fit.
