The Flower Girl - Short Film
Had to repost because there was something wrong with the last upload. Anyway, here goes. Finally, I have finished my little side project. I feel both satisfied and braced for embarrassment, but that will pass. It was very fulfilling to create and I hope you all like it as much as I liked making it!

Description:
Inspired by a novel I stumbled across in a library a decade ago - The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen.
Little did I know that the series would dig itself (pun absolutely intended) into my heart so permanently. I’m sure everyone who read the books wanted to be Imogen, or Jaron, or any other of the brilliant characters. Likewise, being Imogen was a childhood dream of mine. So, I decided that with the tools I had on hand, and the years of imagination behind me, that I’d make something that 10 year old Valerie would drool over. I learned a lot while making this, namely that I’m only made for acting and not cinematography or editing. But it also revitalised the waning performer within me. I hope it may do the same for others.

"Imogen?"
"Yeah?"
"Promise me something."
"What?"
"I need something to stay, to accept me for who I am. Promise me you won't give up on me."
"I promise, Jaron."

So I thought of this little thing...

Some Jarogen fluff :)
So my friend and I were talking at lunch. She showed me this song
For reference, here are a few lyrics
So keep your head up, princess, before your crown falls
Know these voices in your head will be your downfall
I know it gets so hard but you don't got far to go
Yeah, keep your head up, princess, it's a long road
And the path leads right to where they won't go
I know it hurts right now but I know you'll make it home
So keep your head up
Yeah, keep your head up
This is what we cooked up:
You know how people (*cough* King Humfrey *cough*) used to disrespect Erin because "she was nothing more than a servant girl and had no right to be queen"? Imagine that some people say the same thing about Imogen. (Obviously, Jaron finds out and they're never seen in the castle again)
Imogen tries to cover it up, but Jaron, who knows her so well, sees that those comments are eating her up inside and is deeply hurt by it.
Side-track for a little bit: I read this one fic (credit to the author) where Jaron keeps a journal with things he wants to say but doesn't know how to. And then one day, Imogen finds it.
Back to the story. Imagine Jaron wanting to comfort Imogen, but doesn't want her to know that he sees her hurting. So he writes this song (Keep Your Head Up, Princess) as a poem in his journal as a way to remind her that everything will be okay. He doesn't show it to her, though, but he does try to bring it up in conversation: "Are you okay?" "Is something bothering you?" "You know you can tell me everything" but she just nods and changes the topic.
Until one day, when Imogen finds the journal and reads the poem.
She just walks up to Jaron with the journal in her hand and tears in her eyes, and Jaron is so scared that she'll be even more upset and is all, "Oh shoot shoot shoot I'm so sorry"
But Imogen just shakes her head and throws her arms around him.
She whispers, "Thank you."
And yeah. That's it :)
Anyways I should go eat breakfast bc I woke up very late

Jaron: Valentine’s day is just a consumerist holiday that holds no real value other than drive people insane buying heart shaped chocolates for their significant others and pos-
Imogen: I wrote you a poem.
Jaron, already crying: You did?
