Your days were filled with heartache and lingering touches, gazes that lasted seconds too long, and a mind filled to the brim with dreams of marriage despite knowing it couldn't be in the cards for the two of you. The possibility of Levi being in the grasp of a Titan and not making it out was enough to have you lurch out of bed, tears rolling down your cheeks and bile burning at the back of your throat. That was why you had to suppress it. A voice in the back of your head protests, screaming for you to confess your love.

You should've listened.

You knew that Levi shared your feelings- his touches branding the small of your back and you could feel his gaze on you more often than not; it was intense- words unsaid and passion burning in his eyes, hoping that maybe you would be the one to confess first.

It was a waiting game.

Levi surprisingly enough was the one to approach you first. In the middle of the night, he had requested for you to meet him in the field and it was under the stars that he'd confessed. He was nervous, to say the least- hands shaking and eyes looking everywhere but you, stumbling over his confession and begging for you to just give him a chance. It was by far the most hysterical you'd ever seen the man, but you understood.

You wish you'd accepted.

You were both deployed the next day, sent on an expedition outside the walls with some of the 104 Cadets. The two of you were placed side-by-side, acting as if nothing had happened the night before- bickering and you telling jokes that he'd crack the tiniest of smiles at, quenching the flames of your heart for just a moment. He was beautiful to you- everything about him. You were truly lucky to be his best friend.

It all happened so fast.

Everything seemed fine until the warning flares were shot up by team after team. The expedition was going great actually, but then the female titan appeared. The female titan was abnormal by all means- the titan had a clear goal in mind. You were assigned to take care of the Titan Shifter, Eren Yeager, and to protect him at all costs.

You weren't expecting the female titan to wipe out most of your troops, nor were you expecting her to follow after your team. You suspected she was after Eren.

Nothing made sense.

You didn't understand what the female titan would want with Eren. He was just a new cadet- not even at the top of his class, mind you. There was nothing that really catches the eye about him, but under orders from your superiors, your team was picked off one by one. Eren chose to trust your team and you'd all let him down.

It happened in the blink of an eye.

One moment you were on the back of your horse, trying to keep an eye on the female titan and reassure Eren that we would come out victorious and that the remaining soldiers would be safe. It seemed like you were trying to convince yourself more than reassure the young man, now that you look back.

You remembered seeing the entrails of your comrades- no, your friends, splattered against tree trunks. Brain matter, intestines- there was blood everywhere. Everyone you came to care for was being picked off one by one. You wondered if you were next.

And within the blink of an eye, you were ripped from your delusion of safety, in the grasp of the female titan. She looked at you with those cold eyes, and in the spur of the moment you drew your blades, slicing at her fingers.

You don't remember how it happened.

Ice covered the area of her hand you tried to slice at, fear gripping at your heart and your breath coming short. You could hear Levi yelling something, your attention turning to him.

You seemed to turn slowly, your gaze meeting Levi's and you see him yelling for you to try something, anything. He was desperate, pulling out his blades and activating his ODM Gear.

He wasn't fast enough. Hopping off the back of his horse, you recognized the foliage around you blurring for a moment. Then you felt indescribable pain.

You regret it.

You heard the snapping of your bones and heard something splatter against the dirt around you. Someone was screaming and you felt warmth envelop you- who was screaming? Was it you? You couldn't tell. Your eyes found the person holding you; it was Levi.

Levi was saying something, but you couldn't hear it. Your hearing seemed to have gone completely; everything was muffled and quiet. He was speaking frantically, his uniform covered in gore and... was that yours? Your gaze flits to the ground.

Maybe... in your next lives.

As you turned your gaze to the forest floor, you recognized your own intestines... if you could call it that anymore. Your entrails were spread around you- reduced to mush and practically liquified. Your legs and arms were bent at unnatural angles, bones fractured and peaking through.

Oh... your vision was becoming blotchy. Maybe you should say one last thing before you die.

With your last breath, you croak, "I love you...I'll find you- find.. you in our next...lif-"

Your vision fades to black.

@millytherock request. Hey! So, I'm tagging you instead of directly answering as it seems you moved accounts! So I thought I'd do it this way. Story inspired by the lovely dress above!

The 1800s were very dangerous and not very nice in the UK, especially in London with murder rates being high and the police barely managing to keep order! It's why Jack the Ripper got away with so much. Children were made to work from the age of 6 and up! Women had no rights and couldn't even vote! Disease was really bad for many. Those who had an okay life were the rich, but they ran the risk of being attacked or robbed, so they often hired muscle to keep them safe. Being a lady in the 1800s was very dangerous, but I'll keep this fic as light and fluff as possible!

Thief of many things

Pairing: Levi x Reader

Genre and tags: Victorian era, fluff, romance, falling in love, cute, thief Levi, well-off reader, teasing Levi.

Concept: Now in your 20s and with your father's help, you move to London and run a small business from your home in the big city. At the end of your first month there, you're robbed by Levi in a side street between two houses. However, the thief seems rather taken with you. In the days to follow, you keep bumping into Levi. You and he get close and soon he shows up in your house in the middle of the night.

You dropped your change in your little purse and thanked the buyer of a fine selection of sweets you made for them. You made all kinds of sweets and usually sold them from your home, but sometimes you did some delivers to people.

You hurried out of the shop to see carriages and people running by. You stood at the edge of the pavement and waited for a chance to cross the road. As soon as you could you lifted your dress a little and ran across the road and got to the other side.

You pressed your hand against your corset-pressed stomach and sighed in relief that you'd made it. You followed the pavement towards your home and turned down a small and tight side street between two houses.

A gloved hand covered your mouth. You winced in pain as your back hit the building. You shivered at the cold tap of a knife on your neck. Your heart races as fear and thoughts jumped to your head. You heard so many horror stories of attacks on women in the city, so you were imagining the worst.

Levi had noticed you and knew your light blue dress was that of a woman with some money. What he didn't expect was you to be so pretty. He eyed your heaving bosom and felt something throb within him. He glanced up at your terrified face and felt a pang of guilt.

He'd worked for Erwin's little scout gang for a few years now. They stole from the rich and gave back to those in need. The scouts also provided protection to those who paid them. He never felt guilt about his actions before, but as we stared into your stunning tear-filled eyes, he hated himself.

Levi clenched his jaw. "Don't scream. Stay quiet and I won't hurt you."

You nodded and hummed in response.

He released your mouth and stepped back. He pointed his knife at you. "Money."

You shook and lifted your coin purse. "Y-Yes."

He watched how you shook in fear. "Tch, oi? I'm not going to do anything to you, okay?"

You started crying.

Levi groaned and felt awful. "You know what? Forget the money. Where do you live?"

You gasped. "What?"

He sighed. "I'm not robbing you and I'm not taking anything from your house, okay? I'm just taking you home and making sure you're okay."

You whimpered a little and felt embarrassed. "Yes."

He put his knife away and shoved his hands in his pockets and walked with you. "Names Levi."

You mumbled your name as you wiped your tears. "Nice to meet you."

He handed you a hankie. "Here."

You dabbed your tears away. "Thank you."

He let out a long sigh. "This has never happened to me before."

You looked over at Levi in the light now you were out of the dark side street. You felt your heart racing at how handsome he was. "Really?"

He looked over at you and blushed at how you appeared in the light. "Yeah."

You smiled a little. "Well, this is the first time I've ever been robbed."

"Well, I did a terrible job."

You walked up the steps to your front door and looked over at Levi. "Would you like to come in? I can get you some food and maybe something valuable."

"Thanks." He walked into your home, his smart shoes tapping on the wooden floors. He inhaled deep and smelt flowers and sweets filling the home. "Tch, nice place."

You took your jacket off and hat. "Thank you." You dragged your gloves off and hurried to your kitchen. "I work here so much that I'm on top of cleaning."

He followed you and watched you closely. "That so?"

You nodded. "Yes."

He admired the sweets on the counters, all beautifully decorated and others in cute boxes. "You make sweets?"

"Yes." You cleared your throat and handed Levi a cup of tea. "I ah, it's my source of income. It's working out perfect for me."

"Do you have a runner?"

You stared at him. "A what?"

He sipped the tea and hummed at the burst of flavours. "Someone who moves the sweets around for you, it means you can stay here and just make things."

"Oh, no, but most come to my house."

"Dangerous."

You blushed a little. "Maybe." You fiddled with your dress as you stared at Levi. "I-I'll get you some things."

Levi looked around your home downstairs and checked the windows and back door. He shook his head at how easy it would be for someone to break in. He let out a long sigh and thought about your scared voice and face. His heart stung at leaving you all alone and you getting hurt.

You returned to Levi with a smile that made his heart skip a beat. "I got you some things that I don't really need or use." You put the gold jewellery in his hands. "I'm sure you need this more than me."

Levi stared at the gold. "I can't take all this."

You stepped up to him making him hold his breath. You closed his hands around the jewellery. "Take them, I insist."

He gulped at your warm, gentle smile and your soothing aura. "How can I say no when you smile at me like that?"

You blushed at his words. "Huh?"

He pulled away from your touch. "Your place is dangerous to live in. So, I'm going to drop by a few times and fix it up and check up on you." His cheeks burned. "Tch, you'd be lost without me."

You smiled. "Thank you."

He shoved the jewellery in his pocket and grabbed a box of sweets. "I'm taking these!"

You giggled. "Okay. Safe travels!"

You dragged on your long skirt and secured it in space. You looked at yourself in the mirror and smiled at wearing more relaxed things instead of your fancy layered dresses. You hurried downstairs, your boot heels thudding on the wood as you went.

You grabbed your apron and tied it on before putting the kettle on. You washed up and arranged all your baking things. You smiled softly to yourself as you thought about Levi. He'd been coming over every day for two weeks now. He'd been doing work on your home to make it safe, but you were sure he was taking his time on purpose.

You hummed a song to yourself as you cooked. You looked up out your window when you saw Levi drop off a wall into your garden. You smiled as he stood up and walked to your back door. You poured a cup of tea for him and put out a sandwich for him.

Levi slipped his shoes off and put on the slippers you hand ready for him. He shuffled into your kitchen to see you working. He flicked his gaze to his snack and drink. "Morning."

You looked over at Levi. "Morning. Does it hurt your knees and ankles when you jump from high places?"

"Tch, no." He took a big bite and moaned in delight. He licked his lips as he watched you. He blushed a bit as a question hovered on the tip of his tongue. "You single?"

You glanced over to Levi. "I am." You walked over and offered him a spoon. "Test."

He leaned closer and took the spoon into his mouth. He licked his lips and licked the spoon as he eyed you. He pulled back when he was happy with the blush you had. "It's good."

"You think I could sell it? Oh, it'll harden into this soft thing"

He looked down at your chest. "I love soft things."

Your cheeks burned because you knew how much your corset pressed your chest today. "I'm glad."

He walked closer to you and placed his hand on your waist. He held back a smile at your cute gasp at his actions. He reached up and saw you close your eyes and lean forwards for a kiss. He smiled and cleaned your cheek. He was happy because he now knew you felt the same way about him as he did about you.

Levi lowered his hand. "You had something on your cheek."

You blushed. "O-Oh."

"Something on your lips too."

He leaned closer and kissed you sending a spark through your both. He tugged you roughly against him and growled against your lips. He sighed through his nose and flicked his tongue over your lip. He pushed his tongue into your mouth and moaned in pleasure when you kissed him back with just as much love and passion.

He pulled back and lightly kissed your lips. "I like you so much." He blushed a little. "I want to stay for good and not make any excuses anymore for coming over."

You blushed a little. "I would very much like that because I too like you."

Levi smiled. "Good, I'm glad." He released you and looked at your kitchen. "Need help?"

You nodded and moved some baking things over to him. "Here."

He kissed your neck. "Thank you for letting me help."

"You're welcome."

You sat on your bed and lit your bedside candle. You picked it up and walked to your bathroom. You cleaned up after yourself and hummed a song to yourself as you walked through your home to your bedroom. You softly blew on your candle and climbed into bed.

Levi sat in the tree in your back garden watching you. He smiled a little and felt an urge to go hold you. You both had just started being a couple, so he hadn't had you in the bedroom yet and he wanted to wait for that and knew you did too.

He climbed over to your window and pushed it open. He let himself in and closed the window behind him. He smiled and moved closer to you as you lay in your big bed with your beautiful hair like a halo around your head.

He sat on the edge of your bed and moved your hair in his fingers. He smiled softly as you slept soundly, the moon illuminating your delicate features. He leaned over you and placed a light kiss on your lips. He pulled back and winced at his actions. He knew better than to take a kiss while you were sleeping.

"Levi?"

A soft sleepy voice made him go cold.

You opened your eyes and smiled at your lover. "Hi."

He blushed a little. "I'm sorry I kissed you without permission."

"It's okay." You sat up and smiled at Levi. "Where were you? How did you get in?"

"Window." He admired you in your white night dress. "You look so beautiful."

You blushed a little. "Thank you."

He leaned closer before stopping himself. "May I kiss you?"

"You may."

He smiled and pressed his lips against yours. He hummed in delight at how warm you were. He blushed when you wrapped your arms around him and pulled him down onto you as you lay back on the bed.

He released your lips and gulped a little as dirty thoughts filled his mind. "I umm."

You cupped his face. "Lay with me."

He blushed hard. "Huh?"

You giggled. "I mean lie next to me, not anything dirty."

He groaned. "I'm an idiot." He jumped off the bed and pulled his clothes off until he was in his boxers. He crawled into the bed and pulled you close to him. "You know I'm a thief?"

"Mm."

He rubbed his hand on your back. "Well, I think you're one. I tried to take your money, but you took so much more."

You lifted your head and giggled. "I guess I stole your lovely heart, huh?"

He nodded. "You did. Did I steal yours?"

You leaned closer and kissed him. "You did. You took it and ran."

"Good." He squeezed you a little. "Let's sleep. We'll snuggle together."

You wiggled up against him. "Yes."

"I love you."

You blushed. "I love you too."

Levi smiled in the dark at your confirmation of love. He closed his eyes and held you. He felt himself drift off into a relaxing deep sleep.

You summoned your celestial book and looked through it. You hummed a little song to yourself. You changed the story of the worlds you had made and fixed a few things that had gone wrong. You glanced up at Levi as he limped over. "Levi, everything okay?"

Levi sat next to you and sighed. "How are your worlds?"

You showed him your book with watercolours swirling around to form pictures. "Well."

He smiled as he looked at your colourful world. "No humans?"

You laughed. "It's why it's doing so well. It's just plants and animals."

Levi leaned over and kissed your neck. "Can you tell me what you see for this world's future?"

You gripped your book. "Love, I don't think that's a good idea."

"I want to see."

You looked Levi in the eyes. "I'm scared to show you. What if it is bad? Then what? Levi, you know very well I cannot change this world without consequences to me. This isn't my world."

He tapped his forehead against yours. "Please, I need to know if it was all worth it. For our future children."

You let out a long sigh. "Very well." You closed your book and stood up. "Book, show me the future of this world." You watched the book rise up as light sparkled around it. You nibbled your lip and had a sinking feeling. "Come on..."

Levi limped over. "Well?"

You watched the book float down and flick through pages until it rested on the future of the world. You welled up and shook your head. "War. War will return." You gasped as you saw images of bombs dropping on Paradise. "I'm so sorry, Levi."

Levi's eyes darkened. "They'll never change, will they? Humans that is." He ruffled his hair. "Tch, it's disgusting."

You slapped the book closed. "Let's ignore it. This war will start long after our time."

"But our great-grandchildren."

You hugged your book to your chest. "There is something..."

Levi held your upper arms. "I want us to be happy. Please."

You gulped hard and put your book down. "I can heal you, but I'll gain a few scars as punishment." You held his hands. "We can go together and you can be a cosmic being with me. I can give you that." You squeezed his hands. "Do you want that?"

"I will go anywhere with you. I love you."

You kissed him and sighed. "Okay, but this isn't a light choice. You'll live for eternity."

Levi smiled softly. "Eternity with you? Sounds like heaven."

You hummed a laugh. "You sweet romantic." You closed your eyes and let the light shine from you. You panted and winced as you felt the cuts drag through your skin. You cried out as you healed Levi fully. "Levi?"

Levi yanked back from you before a scar on his cheek was healed. "Stop."

You shivered a little. "Are you okay?"

He nodded. "Don't hurt yourself anymore."

You smiled softly at Levi. "Okay."

He let out a long sigh. "I'm ready."

You picked up your book and held your hand out to form a doorway. You held Levi's hand and smiled. "Once we walk through this doorway together, we say goodbye to a mortal life."

Levi gripped your hand tightly. "I want this."

You ran with him into the doorway and jumped. You both flew in the air and drifted through a colourful hallway. You pulled Levi close and smiled at him. "What do you think?"

He looked around him and saw paintings of planets with lights moving and things around them. "It's beautiful and we are here for eternity?"

You nodded. "Yes. You and me together."

He wrapped his arms around you and kissed you. "I love you."

You giggled. "I love you too." You moaned against his lips and smiled. "Let me show you my planet." You flew through a painting to show a multicoloured planet. You moved him down to show him the plants and animals. "I worked hard."

Levi inhaled deeply. "It smells so nice. You're amazing. You really are."

"Thank you." He pulled you close. "How about a dance on your planet?"

You blushed deeply. "I would love that."

He swayed with you. "You're my everything."

You welled up. "You're mine. Are you really okay with this?"

He nodded. "I had nothing back on my planet. The only thing I had was you and you're here in my arms. So, I am happy."

You grinned. "Me too."
