'Desmond incoming car!' Desmon's Ai partner assisted him
Tumblr media
"Got it!" Desmond the hero in training caught the car, putting it down and saving the family inside too. "Get to safety."
Just another day for the young Bungi band hero Desmond, working alongside another hero Desmond was taking it to one of the big bads, that's the only way young Des would be allowed to, teaming up with RexHemoth Desmond fought off M.T as he teased him, or Monsterous Tengu! It was much more fun calling him a nick name to tease him. There was something different about the big lug, during the bout his portals seemed to shimmer and react differently.
While trading blows with the pair of heroes, a rubber fist and a set of teeth and hard tail from the Dino king himself, The large masked Tengu..seemed like he was being possessed! He jerked and twitched like he was being pulled in many different directions, almost as if opened from the inside a portal popped out of his chest, a vortex of power, He was going through a quirk evolution! His power was increasing; sadly Desmond was on the charge when said portal opened up, Des is pulled inwards towards the portal.
"KID! DAMN!" Rex called out in his dino form trying to reach him, Desmond was sadly pulled in too fast, and following behind M.T was pulled into his own portal too!
It wasn't too long in a vortex of whites, blues and violets that almost blinded him that he was twirling over M.T and a grand visage, was that the eiffel tower?? God damnit M.T you teleported us to the other side of the world, he was unconscious however. A fall from this height would kill him, not Des who's mostly rubber.
Tumblr media
"Damn! Gotta catch him." Des stretched into a parachute and using the Eiffel tower stretched his arms and tail around the big fool, and darted around and tied a web of rubber arm around the giant. But at the cost of staining himself, it wasn't enough, if he had just a bit more!

A lost soul travels down the streets of Paris as he didn't realize where he was, a bizarre helmet covering his face as he didn't fair well in social interactions so this object was a safety mechanism for him to cope with.
He didn't care if onlookers look at him in shock or disgust, he was used to it as he deemed himself as weak. He was merely a fragile minded being with the movements of a mechanical toy, despite that he was human.
As he walked, he was holding a friend that he created simply by hand.
Tumblr media
This is his closest companion Pers, the boy smiled inside the helmet to his little friend as he will keep him safe from all danger.
Silent in his footsteps, he walked on.

I am definitely here to find out more about your OC Harper if you wanna share 👀👀👀
oh my god yes yes yes thank you so much Jam i would LOVE to gush about Harper Spiel and their bizarre backstory, thank you so much 🙈💖 Doctor Who OCs are so fun to make!
my dear Harper's story begins right after the events of The Giggle! Harper Spiel is a 26-year-old ludologist, or games specialist: a former world champion in several board games who turned their fascination with games into a lucrative career. previously they worked with the British government investigating high-profile gambling rings and other criminal operations which involved gameplay mechanics! 👀
following The Giggle, UNIT wanted to find out all they could about the Toymaker, and so they hired Harper to create a full report on him...against The Doctor's wishes, and without his knowledge. during their research, Harper discovers that the Toymaker is not an isolated incident: he has cropped up in gaming lore and texts throughout history as a godlike entity no one can win against. most people would steer well clear...but Harper takes this as a challenge 🔥 so, they begin a series of experiments with the Toymaker's Toybox. Harper spends weeks trying to engage the Toymaker without opening the box, attempting to coax him into a game, but comes up short. until they have a mad idea! on their birthday, Harper brings a sand timer to the Toybox, and challenges the Toymaker to emerge before the sand runs out. they have no way of knowing if the game is accepted... until a bang!! then, a flash of light...and the vague image of a grin with far too many teeth, beaming through the fog. when Harper awakes, they are no longer in their own timeline. they are in 1984, in an empty lot where the UNIT building hasn't even been constructed yet! 😱 it takes a few days for the Doctor - specifically the Sixth Doctor - to find Harper, and it's because the TARDIS has become absolutely fixated on London in 1984 and he can't work out why. this leads him to Harper, who the Doctor recognises as a temporal anomaly: a living entity displaced in time who should not be able to exist in this reality, but has been rejected by their own. according to the Doctor, Harper's birthday - originally March 22nd, 1998 - is now March 22nd, 1956...which would make them 65 years old according to their original reality!! if not...that means they're minus 40 💀 the Doctor, horrified by this mess, takes Harper into the TARDIS and tries to bring them back to 2024...but the TARDIS nearly implodes! he then tries every workaround he knows, but something about the game Harper opened up with the Toymaker has caused their own timeline to shun them. like it or not, the only safe place for Harper to exist (at least without increasing timey-wimey shenanigans) is within the TARDIS 😉 so!! Harper gets stuck with the Sixth Doctor, to his chagrin and their delight. Harper is familiar with the Doctor, but only his most recent regenerations, and they take delight in playing off his bombastic, arrogant personality. they're always getting stuck into some part of the TARDIS they shouldn't be, or wandering off and nearly causing a category 5 space-time event. they're a magnet for disaster and time distortion, and it drives the Doctor mad! 🙈 but as funny as their relationship is, there is real grief here. the Doctor soon recognises Harper to be somewhat like him: a scientist whose fascination often overrides their emotions, so the process of understanding that they will never see their friends again (as they have no family to speak of) is tough. it doesn't take long for the Doctor to soften towards Harper...after all, Harper is something which the universe itself is trying to reject. who can relate more to that than the Sixth Doctor, whose regeneration was characterised by fear, anger and feeling like an alien in his own body? aaaand that's Harper Spiel!! unwitting companion to the Sixth Doctor and challenger of the Toymaker 🥰 their adventures would be characterised by them attempting to find some way back to Harper's original timeline safely, with Harper insisting they need to find the Toymaker to make it happen...😭

Villains and Villains
closed AU ro with @ridiculed-baker
-
Yelling and laughing in this empty void- it pulsing and changing. Desmond jabbed his finger at the villain they hired. A giant wearing a mask, called himself Monsterous Tengu.
Tumblr media
"You really blew it this time man- getting us flung into some weirdo space rift!!"
M.T laughed.
"Oh come on, what's the haarm in having a little fun? We can go anywhere we want in the world- in multiple worlds! Yer too closed minded."
"I'll close your mind between yer ears you giant idiot- look at my crew, your scaring the crew fool." Desmond pointed to a few other villains, them confused as to where they were or where they were going, the argument carried on until they somehow arrived in Paris.
Tumblr media
"Great we're in the worst place on earth. Dumbass look where you took us, and it looks all...goth actually I kinda like it." The villain looked around a bit, the small group sticking out like a sore thumb,

The heartbreaking realization that I keep not being able to write this story bc it has no end game or direction, just a dumb concept. And while I am in support of "does not need a plot, write for fun" my brain will not allow me to work that way

Now that the season is over and everyone is released from the constraints of the bake off tent, things need to be discussed.
The final highlighted an epidemic within bake off that has honestly been growing ever since it moved out of the BBC.
Which is that bakers are never given enough time to complete the tasks set for each challenge.
Challenges get ridiculous and more difficult year after year as if they are trying to one-up the year before (which is not what bake off is about).
The judges have become very subjective in their judgments. It is very biased and not at all fair and cohesive.
The hosting has felt very stagnant and the hosts (mainly Matt Lucas) fail to deliver on their entire purpose which is to uplift the spirits of the bakers. The hosts help set the entire tone of the show for the bakers themselves apart from when their bakes are being judged by Paul and Prue. Their “comedy” and their dialogue has really fallen flat and so instead of being lighthearted, they contribute to making the atmosphere even more stressed and tense.
This is not a professional baking competition. This is not Masterchef 2.0. This should be a celebration of home bakers. And its veering further and further from that core purpose.
Everything essential to home baking which is flavor and flavor only is being overshadowed by all of these other criteria. They are being judged on creating dishes that they have never made before and will never replicate in a million years at home.
What value is this serving?
You are not teaching them any valuable skills to take home and use with their families - simple things they can make in a short period of time that will taste delicious.
Instructions for the technical never include essential information and the judges just expect them to know all of these niche details- completely forgetting that they are all AMATEUR BAKERS who bake at HOME and who have busy lives.
Baking is their hobby, it is a love language, it is not their career.
It is increasingly evident that Bake Off is setting up their contestants to fail and purposefully creating situations that bring out the bakers’ stress and anxiety.
I don’t watch bake off to see people fall apart over cake. I find no enjoyment in watching them struggle.
Bake Off has remained special to me because of the atmosphere between the bakers. The baker community.
I love it for the fact that the bakers are never competing against each other truly and help each other out at any given moment. The warm cozy vibes.
That spirit is not found in any other baking show. Period. It is unique and so precious.
But that spirit is being overshadowed by the rotten framework of this new Bake Off.
There needs to be a fundamental restructuring of Bake Off before it loses everything that makes it special.

A recipe on a US company’s website calls for 2 cups of granulated sugar.
The same recipe on the same company’s Canadian website calls for 2 cups of granulated sugar -- and says that converts to 500 mL.
Except, when I use any of my measuring cup sets to measure 2 cups of granulated sugar, the total ends up closer to 400 mL. And an internet search turns up information that 1 cup of granulated sugar converts to just under 236 mL. Meaning 2 cups should be around 472 mL. Not 500. And not 400.
How does anyone ever manage to bake accurately when the company that created the recipe can’t even get its conversion right? The professionals would have you believe weighing your ingredients is the more accurate way to bake. Because, as mine are proving this morning, measuring cups vary too much and can’t be trusted.
Apparently, neither can conversions.
