Not that anyone cares to know but here is a list of my favorite ships from the shows I watch
Chuck: Chuck and Sarah. My absolute favorite ship ever!! The most pure and genuine couple ever. I love them with my whole heart
Pretty Little Liars: Spencer and Toby. Love them to death. The first ship I ever cared about and they’ll always hold a special place in my heart
Friends: Ross and Rachel. Obviously there could be some better writing between the two but I’m a sucker for this will they won’t they
Gilmore Girls: Rory and Dean... I know I know but hear me out I like Rory and Dean before he got married. I wish that he would have never got married and that they found each other again later down the line and ended up together. I realize they don’t work with the actual storyline they went with
How I Met Your Mother: Ted and Robin...I know but hear me out again I also wish the storyline would have been different. I thought Robin and Barney made no sense and were absolutely toxic. I wish Barney and Robin never got married and Ted and Robin both grew and found their way back together. But I do think it was terrible for him to have a wife and then kill her off basically just to put him and Robin together but that’s just bad writing.
One Tree Hill: Lucas and Peyton. I love them a lot and did in fact stop watching the show once they left because it wasn’t the same without them.
Revenge: Daniel and Emily!!! I don’t even care if you don’t agree cause they were absolutely adorable. I think she genuinely fell in love with Daniel and should have just been friends with Jack.
The Vampire Diaries: Stefan and Elena. Again Damon and Elena were toxic. Stefan ALWAYS put Elena first and they deserved so much better.
Prison Break: Sara and Michael. I don’t even remember any other significant ships from that show but they were adorable.
Hart of Dixie: Zoe and Wade. I really love them together and loveee to see both of their character development.
White Collar: Sara and Neal. I thought they were so cute together.
Baby Daddy: Ben and Riley. Don’t get me wrong I love Danny but I think Riley goes better with Ben. I loved Ben’s character development and seeing how much he changed for the better after Riley. I really did love them and am still upset they didn’t end up together.
Parks and Recreation: Leslie and Ben. Honestly this was hard cause I like several of the ships on that show but the absolute sweetness of Leslie and Ben makes them take the cake.
Dawson’s Creek: Joey and Dawson. I know that this is probably my most unpopular opinion but oh well. I do think there should have been some better writing leading up to it and things made better with that better writing though. Honestly I was absolutely so confused and shocked when she ended up with Pacey. Might have been the most upset I’ve been about people ending up together. I mean even if she would have ended up with no one or even Eddie but I was just really upset she ended up with Pacey. Sorry not sorry.
Once Upon A Time: Hook and Emma. Absolutely adore them. They are so pure and adorable and have character development and ugh I love them so much.
The Night Shift: TC and Jordan. I really liked them so much and am upset the show was cancelled before we got to see them get back together.
New Girl: Schmidt and Cece. Also hard because I also love Nick and Jess but if I have to choose it’s Schmidt and CeCe.
Bones: Booth and Brennan. Absolutely LOVE them.
Blacklist: Ressler and Liz. Honestly conflicted about this rn cause I don’t know if she deserves him but I have always liked them together.
Stranger Things: Steve and Nancy. I loveeee Steve and could not believe she got together with Jonathan. Like did everyone forget about him taking photos of her????
The Good Place: Eleanor and Chidi. Literally so adorable love them both sooo much. They deserve the world.
Psych: Shawn and Juliet. Seriously how cute are they?? I’ll go ahead and tell you... the CUTEST.
Grey’s Anatomy: Derek and Meredith. You already know I’m team MerDer because honestly who isn’t?
Arrow: Oliver and Felicity. So prefect together love them
The Flash: Barry and Caitlin. I saw Barry and Iris as siblings especially since Barry called him dad which is why I don’t ship that also I feel like she didn’t actually start to really like him until she figured out he was the flash. And I think Barry and Caitlin are super cute and honestly thought they were gonna date way back in season 1. But I’m content with them just being friends I just wish we could see some more of that friendship because they’re adorable.
The Walking Dead: Glenn and Maggie!!!!!! Love love love love them! What’s better than falling in love during a zombie apocalypse? One of the bests ugh my heart. That ending was too sad and definitely made me quit watching the show.
A Million Little Things: Honestly I don’t know rn. I still like Katherine and Eddie but that might just be because Katherine is my fav. I just wish he would have told her about the pills right away and how he was struggling or something. I just have a hard time rooting for him because he’s put Katherine through so much. And then Rome and Regina are so adorable. And I adore Gary and like him with Maggie and Darcy and like Maggie with Gary and Jamie. So yeah I’m all over the place with this one. Honestly can’t pick a fav but felt like sharing those thoughts.
Well this has been fun and there’s more shows and couples but that’s all for now

So, let me throw this into the universe and maybe they can get out of my head and into the world.
A MacGyver male OC that worked with Desi before and is hired to the time in a capacity kind of like that agent on Season 2, undercover work, dealing with people, accessing places, that kind of thing. He comes right after Desi and Angus break up because they are incompatible and get kind in the middle of the two because of the awkwardness. After a while, he starts to fall for Angus and keeps asking to be in the HQ until Desi confronts him and he tells how he feels. Parallel to this Mac is getting restless because OC isn't coming to the missions and when Rileu asks why it bothers him so much, he confess he may be feeling some new feelings, it can even tight up with the whole mac/jack situation that should definitely have happen. Anyway, OC thinks mac is straight and feels horrible because of Desi, Mac thinks OC isn't interested and he isn't sure what he is feeling, some angst, some miscommunication, some ill die for you in some mission, maybe even some Riley/Desi because is so much better then a love triangle. Faceclaim: idk. Name: Luke Holt
Legacies male OC creates as a result of a deal Hope makes with a magical spirit to defeat Malivore. The witch ghost says she'll have to give up being unique and therefore OC appears out of nowhere from her DNA, kind of a magical twin. She hates it and keeps telling everyone that she'll never see him as a brother, but everyone knows she lost so much family, she is just guarding himself. He, on the other hand, has no history, no nothing, just all the stuff hope knows with fighting and magic and stuff. Also, he is bi and both Rafael and josie get interested in him and they decided to be a ot3 because it's just the perfect setup. So monsters, teen romance, ot3, people brought together by ridiculous circumstances becoming family, some lizzie/oc one line sparring and both making fun of Landon. Faceclaim: Connor Jessup; Name: Nicolas Michaelson
A Marvel male OC that was in a Shield Academy during Winter Soldier and his school was attacked because of a technology he helped develop and Hydra started to kill his schoolmates until he unlocked the access codes. OC goes crazy and kills the agents until he is found covered in blood next to his schoolmates corpses. He goes into an institution until Steve takes him out to help track down Bucky and becomes his legal guardian (he is seventeen) and he goes through all the movies. He helps in age of Ultron, where we see some of the relationships with the other avengers, like Tony keeps saying he should work for him and he keeps saying no, asking natasha to teach some fighting things and Hawkeye wants to teach him archery and he is like 'I'm just trying to see if I can convince thor to take out his shirt' while Bruce is like 'it's late, you should be sleeping' and he is like 'you are a human disaster, shut up'.
Civil war goes super bad because he is all team cap and Tony keeps saying they should not be putting the kid in the middle of the thing, but he was almost murdered in a state controlled institution, so he is not ready to put the government in charge of superpowers. He has crazy tech glasses first (sorry for from home) and is not afraid to use it.
He goes to wakanda with bucky, but Tony negotiates a deal for him to go back to the States under his mentorship. He moves to the same building where Peter Parker lives and Peter had a big big crush on him. Tony asks OC to look after Peter, but he gets involved in the whole stolen tech thing and Tony gets mad. Steve gets mad. He yells lot.
This one is kind of a 'solo' movie where Oc goes work for a construction company and his boss is a villain that is about to be caught by the FBI for business mess and he finds a way to blame OC and his own daughter, Kate Bishop. So OC and Kate have to work together to get her father and they become best friends and partners and that goes on to influence his other stories (there was no Hawkeye show when I plotted this. I don't know what I'm gonna do about it). Peter shows up for a cameo on this, but it's more about OC and Bishop becoming partners in crime/superheroing. At the end, they find out that OC is inhuman and had the option to use the rock thing to get his powers. He destroys it because he says he doesn't need it.
Infinity war comes and both Bishop and OC are involved. they keep getting separated by stuff and trying to reach each other while OC gets involved with Tony, strange and Peter in space. At the end, he is not snapped, but Kate is and the movie ends with him losing his mind again and repeating not again because of how he lost his school friends before.
The inhumans believe that they develop the powers the community needs to survive, so endgame is a lot about OC wanting to get powers and Steve fearing it'll just make things worse. He is full uncle to Tony's daughter and helps natasha with keeping the avengers alive, but he is full on not okay and wants to do anything to bring everybody back. He helps with the time heist, but needs to unlock his powers to make it work. Nothing bad happens and he gets some mind and telekinesis powers (think some Jean grey kind of thing). At the end, although he uses his powers to help defeat thanos, it isn't the thing the saves the day and he wonders if that means something bad is still to come. He is super hurt that Steve left, but has to accept it. Maybe he meets Peggy during the time heist just to kind of come full circle. Anyway, no more OC/Peter because he is so much older now (from 2 to 7 years of difference).
He does show up in far from home, in the plane with Happy when Peter is lost in Europe. He helps and even pushes Peter/mj together.
Not sure about the plot for falcon and winter Soldier, but kind of wondering if with people not wanting Sam as cap, maybe try to use OC as caps son and he saying absolutely not. Maybe some OC/bucky if makes sense with what they are doing. Name: Leonard Knight
I'll post more if I remember more.
I also have a ton of seasons plotted for arrowverse Kyle if anyone wants to know .

Despite The Odds (We Keep On Breathing)
Fandom: Marvel Cinematic Universe Pairings: Sam/Bucky (platonic, there’s kissing though) Word Count: 3793 Summary: Sam didn't really know why Bucky stayed with him, after. Turned out he was pretty okay when he wasn't brainwashed and hellbent on killing him. Turned out Sam trusted him. Turned out maybe they could help each other. Note: This was written for Aggressively Arospec Week 2019. Basically I wanted to explore what trauma can mean for your sense of self/how you identify. I'm not in any way a specialist on anything relating to mental health, so take this with a pinch of salt I guess. Also it's my first time writing from Sam's POV! Woop! Featuring caedromantic!Bucky
Also available on AO3.
Sam didn't really know why Bucky stayed with him, after.
Maybe he thought that making sarcastic remarks at each other for months on end because they might be on the run together but they didn't have to like it was a form of bonding.
Maybe he thought they could help each other through the shared trauma of being left behind by their best friend right after having been brought back to life.
Maybe he didn't have anywhere else to go.
Maybe he didn't have anyone else to be other than Captain America's shadow.
Whatever the reason, the fact of the matter was that Bucky Barnes was following him around a whole lot. And, at this point, Sam felt like it was probably too late to ask why.
The thing was, it wasn't bad. Taking up the mantle/shield of Captain America meant that his life was on the line even more often than it used to be, and having someone watching out for him was invaluable. And the fact that it was Bucky Barnes doing the watching... Well, it turned out that that wasn't so bad either. Turned out the guy was pretty okay when he wasn't brainwashed and hellbent on killing him.
Sam didn't know everything that had happened to him, but he knew enough. And he knew it was a lot. And despite all of that, Bucky had turned into a mostly quiet man, one who got too sarcastic when he was either in a great or a terrible mood. He had been used as a weapon and killed dozens of people, and know he had a small smile he reserved for flowers peeking through concrete and dogs who tried to sniff him. It seemed to Sam that something had settled into him during his time in Wakanda. It was a fragile equilibrium, he knew that. That's always what it was. But he also thought it was probably much more than Bucky had let himself hope for.
Maybe Sam was projecting onto Bucky a little bit. Or maybe a lot. Sam was an adult, he could admit it to himself. Inhale, exhale, there you go. He was glad that Bucky was there with him. Because his own equilibrium was not so much fragile as holding on through duct tape and prayers. It was just... superheroing was lonely work. It didn't come with an adjustment period, and it was definitely not the kind of job where you could call in sick on bad mental health days. Sam wasn't living the kind of life where he had time to mourn. He also wasn't living the kind of life that could help him forget.
So, yeah. He was glad Bucky was there with him. He was glad someone was there to remember. Even when the guy was being an asshole.
“For fuck's sake! I told you to stop doing that!” Sam groaned, pushing aside the man he had just punched in the face and stepping over the one who had been shot by a bullet which had flown exactly a handspan away from Sam's cheek.
“I told you not to move,” Bucky said over their comm system, sounding totally unrepentant.
“Yeah, while a guy was trying to kick my knee in. It's not like I had much of a choice.”
He kept moving as he talked, shield held up in front of him in case of gunfire. There was always gunfire. Except when it was magic. Sam much prefered the gunfire to magic.
He kept moving, knocking a few more people unconscious and shooting one in the leg. It wasn't because he had picked up Steve's shield that he had to pick up his stupid habit of never carrying a gun.
He had finally reached the room where hostages were being held, and from what he could hear, the people inside had noticed something was wrong. That wasn't good. It meant they would be prepared for him, which usually meant a lot of gunfire.
“Gonna need some help here,” Sam said into his comms, voice low.
“You always do,” came Bucky's reply. Sam rolled his eyes. He had no idea why Bucky was in such a good mood when they were fighting terrorists. The guy was weird.
He also hadn't given him any information on what form his backup would take, but the sound of a window breaking was as good a sign as any that Sam should kick in the door and punch anything that looked like it wanted to kill him.
By the time he went to untie the hostages, his hands were shaking from the adrenaline. He could feel a dozen bruises starting to form all over his body, but right now the pain was an easily ignored buzz. He did his best to smile in a non-threatening way and reassure everyone that they were safe.
As usual, Bucky hung back for this part. By now, most civilians recognized Sam's uniform immediately, although there had been a transition period where a lot of people had awkward questions about Captain America turning black and sprouting wings. But Bucky was much less of a public figure, and his dark-coloured tac gear didn't exactly made him inviting. That, and Bucky was always on high alert after a fight. There was a stillness to him that was all concentration and held-back power. Sam used to be afraid of it too, so he knew what those civilians were feeling. Although, nowadays, he had to admit it was one of the few things that made him feel safe.
Going on missions together all across the world meant staying in hotels with very thin walls, and Bucky had a supersoldier's hearing, so it really was no surprise to hear a knock on the door after Sam had woken up from a nightmare that had launched him right into a panic attack.
“You can come in,” Sam struggled to say over his ragged breathing. Fuck, he hated nightmares. He nearly never got panic attacks during the day anymore, knew a dozen tricks to force himself to relax before they fully developed. But his sleeping self never remembered any of them, not when he was faced with conflated images of Steve stepping back in time and Riley falling from the sky and himself always helpless and left behind.
Bucky stepped into the room. The cold efficiency of his fighting mode – Sam did his best not to call it the Winter Soldier mode, not even jokingly – had disappeared. Instead, Sam was faced by a man in a soft white shirt and sweatpants, mussed hair falling over his face. The first time this had happened he had held himself small, light on his feet. Ready to bolt, but still making the effort to offer his help. Sam had been more touched by that than he had ever been able to express.
That night he was less tense. He knew this was allowed now. He knew this was welcome. Needed, maybe, though Sam had yet to admit that.
“Do you want to talk?” Bucky asked softly. “Or should I just keep watch?”
Sam didn't like being alone after nightmares. It didn't help that the new ones had abandonment trauma spelled out all over them. Sometimes just having Bucky stay in the room was enough for him to fall back asleep, knowing he wasn't alone, knowing he was safe. Bucky didn't sleep a lot. Didn't need to.
“Have to calm down first,” Sam replied. His breathing was beginning to deepen, a little, but it still wasn't comfortable. He could feel a headache starting. Panic attacks were the worst, because they made him even more tired than he already was from lack of sleep. Fuck.
Bucky pulled the chair out from under the desk in a corner of the room and sat down. It should have been weird, Sam sitting in bed, knees drawn up, head resting on his crossed arms, struggling to breathe, and Bucky watching him. But there was no judgment in Bucky's gaze. No pity, no overbearing concern. Just a quiet acknowledgment of Sam's presence and of his struggle, and Sam didn't know how he had managed without it all this time.
Slowly, Sam got his breathing back under control. He could still feel his heart beating fast and his head pounding in the same rhythm. He looked up.
Bucky was still there, watching him with the same soft and neutral expression. Sam felt something twist in his chest.
“You'd figured it out, hadn't you?” he let out, too tired to filter his thoughts.
Bucky twitched slightly, which was his equivalent of jumping in surprise, Sam figured. He probably hadn't expected the accusatory tone in Sam's voice. The accusation wasn't directed at him though. Not at all.
Sam ran a hand across his face. He'd started this, and he needed to see it through. Seeing from his nightmares, this unresolved business wasn't going to let go of him any time soon if he kept ignoring it.
“When Steve...” he hated the way his voice still caught on the name. Like he had died a death too horrible to speak of. (Like Riley.) But he hadn't. He had made his choice. He had lived his life. A good one. (Maybe better for them not being in it.) “... left. When he left, you said... You said 'I'll miss you.'”
Bucky's face was still neutral, but it had lost some of its softness.
“He was supposed to be gone for seconds. Only seconds. And when he came back... You weren't surprised, were you?”
Bucky turned his head to the side. His hair partly hid him from Sam's view. Bucky didn't let himself show negative emotions.
“Fuck, Bucky, I'm sorry, I didn't...” Sam hesitated before pushing his duvet to the side and moving forward so he could sit on the edge of the bed, facing the other man.
Bucky always asked him what he needed, but Sam had never offered the same. Bucky always looked like he would refuse. Now Sam hesitated, wanting to reach out a hand and not daring to. Staying within arm's length was his best bet, giving Bucky the opportunity to cross the gap if he wanted to.
The other man took a deep breath and turned back towards him. “Nothing to apologize for,” he said, voice flat. “You didn't do anything.
“Yeah, but I shouldn't have...” Sam started. Shouldn't have what? Hadn't he admitted just a minute ago that he needed to stop repressing all this? “Shouldn't have said it like that.”
Bucky shrugged. “You weren't wrong.”
His shoulders were hunched forward, a habit Bucky had caught to make himself look smaller, less threatening. It made him lean slightly into Sam's space. Sam tried not to read anything into that, but he had hopes.
“I... suspected. I didn't want to be right, but well.” He looked up into Sam's eyes. His gaze was intense. Focused. Dangerous.
It was the gaze of a hurt animal waiting for its chance to run.
“He wasn't the same anymore.”
There's so much that's left unsaid behind those words. How they're not the same either. How Steve hadn't been the Brooklyn kid Bucky remembered in a long time. How much it hurt that despite all of their effort none of them could go back to the way things used to be.
Steve had gone back in time, sure, but it had just been to a different future. Sam wondered, a bit cruelly, if he'd ever missed the past that Sam and Bucky had become to him.
“You should sleep,” Sam said. He stood up and put a hand forward, waiting for Bucky to carefully take it before he pulled him to his feet. Bucky didn't hesitate when Sam tugged him towards his own bed.
Sam didn't let himself think about it long enough to hesitate either.
When he woke up, Sam found Bucky's arm flung across his waist and one of his legs tangled in between Sam's. When he turned his head, Bucky's eyes were still closed, although Sam felt him move just the tiniest bit, as if trying not to let it show that he was already awake.
Sam found he was okay with that. If it meant they could stay like this a while longer, he was fine with letting Bucky pretend as long as he wanted to.
It was human, after all. Most people needed physical contact, preferably some that didn't come from punches and chokeholds.
Sam was only human himself. He felt warmth spread through his body and tension fade away as he let himself melt back into a half-doze.
He knew he and Bucky trusted each other. They had to, to fight together like they did. They had to, if Bucky was going to stand watch over Sam on the days he got nightmares. But this felt like another sort of trust. This was skin on skin, but without the sweat and the blood. Vulnerability without open wounds.
This felt too damn good, and for once Sam could tell himself he wanted it enough not to listen to the voice saying it was something he didn't deserve.
So, after a minute, he opened his eyes and said “Good morning.”
Bucky opened his eyes as well, looking back at him. “Good morning.” He immediately started untangling his legs from Sam's. The movement had a controlled languor to it. It was trying too hard not to draw attention to itself.
Sam caught Bucky's right hand between his, and brought it to his lips. “Don't,” he whispered against the fingers.
Bucky froze at that. Sam had gotten pretty good at reacting quickly, what with all the getting shot at he was doing this day, so it only took that half second for panic to settle throughout his body and for him to let go of his grip.
But Bucky didn't move away. He didn't punch Sam in the face nor broke his wrist, which was a relief. Instead, he drew in a breath, and then carefully ran his thumb along the length of Sam's lower lip.
That was... a thing. A thing that... did things. To Sam.
In that moment, he realized how long it had been since he'd dated anyone or even had a casual hook-up. The constant traveling and self-endangerment that formed the core of superheroing weren't conclusive to long-term relationships, and the chance to be recognized in a club and either kidnapped or assaulted by fans was high enough to make him stay away from them.
But right then, someone was touching his lips, and that someone was safe. That someone knew who he was, knew a big part of what he'd gone through, had gone through worse, and was still here and touching him like he was a tiny bird about to fly away.
Sam opened his mouth. Bucky did the same thing, surprise on his face, his finger still resting against Sam's lip.
Sam's entire body was one tense line, thrumming with too many emotions at once. The one that ended up resonating the loudest was very simple.
He didn't want this moment to leave him behind.
Sam would have very dramatically smashed his mouth against Bucky's if he could have, but the fact that they were both still lying on their side made the manoeuvring a little more difficult than that. In the end, they met in a soft press of lips that seemed to surprise Bucky even has he leaned forward to welcome it. His hand settled carefully on the back of Sam's neck.
Sam closed his eyes.
If he'd been asked, Sam wouldn't have thought kissing Bucky Barnes would be this way. Not that he had ever considered it. … Or at least not seriously.
But this was nice, if unexpected. Slow and careful movements, warm with the edge of sleep, too soft for Sam to hold back a sigh.
Bucky pulled away first. Then Sam opened his eyes once more.
He didn't know what he had expected the look on Bucky's face to be, but this wasn't it. This was much too neutral to his taste.
“I'm sorry,” Bucky said.
Those words were enough to make cold run through Sam's body, extinguishing everything else he'd been feeling until then. How could Bucky have misunderstood the situation enough to be apologizing to Sam?
“You've got nothing to be sorry for,” he replied, imitating the other man and sitting up. There was now a gap between the two of them, some sort of security distance that Sam felt like a tear in his own chest. Fuck, he hadn't known how badly he had been craving this kind of contact.
Bucky pulled up his knees and wrapped his arms around it. His face wasn't as much neutral anymore as tired. The kind of exhaustion that went much beyond the physical. After all, he didn't need much sleep anymore.
“I can't do this,” Bucky said, looking away.
Sam concentrated on taking long and deep breaths. He couldn't panic now. He had maybe fucked things up with the only person he trusted, he couldn't afford to panic. This wasn't about him, and he was not going to make things worse.
“What? What can't you do?”
“I don't know. Relationships. Stuff. Flirting. Fucking. Anything. I can't do anything, I just...”
“Hey,” Sam started, trying to find that perfect balance between forceful and soft. He waited for Bucky to look up before he continued. “Don't say you can't do anything. You save my life on a weekly basis, that has to be worth something.”
He had hoped for a weak chuckle from that, would have settled for a sigh, but was only met with silence. Tough crowd. Sam had had some of those before.
“Why do you mean when you say you can't do those things? That you're not allowed or that you're not able to? Or something else?”
“I don't know. It doesn't feel the same way. I don't want it the same way. I don't want it.”
Another jolt of pure cold. Bucky hadn't wanted it.
Despite everything Sam told himself about needing not to panic, something must have shown in his eyes. Sam actually felt pretty good that his poker face wasn't yet good enough to hide the horror he felt at having been well on his way to raping someone.
“Fuck, no. I didn't mean it like that. I did want that. I liked it. You must have felt that I liked it, right?”
“It's not that easy, man. Sometimes you're put in a situation, and the way your body reacts doesn't have anything to do with how you actually feel about it.”
“It wasn't like that! Fuck, sweetheart, it wasn't like that, I swear...”
Sam was feeling very confused right then. Also, relieved. But mostly confused, because Bucky had called him sweetheart before but only through at least five layers of irony. Never so... earnestly. And that had felt a lot like flirting. Which Sam was not going to think about because it was very inappropriate even if he probably hadn't physically violated his superheroing partner.
“Okay, good,” Sam replied, holding up his hands to show he believed Bucky. They were still sitting side by side on a bed. For some reason this made the conversation seem even weirder than it was. “That's good. What did you mean by not wanting it then?”
Bucky ran a hand through his hair. “It's weird. It's just... it's messed up. I'm messed up. I used to... I used to flirt with people all the time. I liked that. You feel that spark of attraction and you fan it, or something. It felt good. But I don't feel that anymore.”
“That's no reason to feel like you're messed up, you know. Loads of people don't like flirting or don't want to date. And kissing...” There Sam floundered a little, embarrassed. “Kissing doesn't have to be about sex. Sometimes you just need to touch someone. Sometimes it just feels nice.”
Bucky shook his head. “But I used to like it,” he insisted. There was something almost childish to his voice. Or maybe not childish. Maybe it was just innocent.
“I'm supposed to be... I know that's not how it works, but I'm supposed to be... fixed. Why can't I just...”
Bucky closed the fist of his prosthetic arm tightly. With his other hand, he covered half of his face. That was Bucky for you. Always showing you calm and control, despite the blizzard that must constantly be raging inside him.
“Hey,” Sam said softly. “Can I touch you?” He waited until Bucky nodded before slowly unfolding his prosthetic hand and sliding their fingers together. “You're right. That's not how it works. You went through a shitload of trauma, man. And the mental programming T'Challa's people took out of you was only the tip of the iceberg, right? But that's nothing to be ashamed of. Being a different person now than you were in the past is not something that has to be fixed. It's how humans work.”
“It was... It was so much easier to get better when I knew what I was supposed to be aiming for. When I was just gathering memories, trying to be someone...”
To be someone Steve knew, was the sentence Sam guessed hung between them. But Steve didn't need Bucky to be his old self anymore. Steve had enough memories to fill twice what Bucky had ever lost.
Steve had never managed to forget Peggy. Would Sam and Bucky ever forget him?
“Your past self isn't necessarily better, you know? I didn't know him, but I know you now. And I would say you're a pretty okay guy.”
Sam actually earned his chuckle this time, and he squeezed Bucky's hand in response.
“What you want or don't want... It's a big deal to some people. I get that. But it doesn't have to be. And sometime it changes. And that's okay. Sometimes it changes because of stuff that happens to you. And sometimes the stuff isn't okay. But the change is. Sometimes things change back to the way they were and sometimes they don't. There's no telling whether one or the other is any kind of recovery. And all of this doesn't have to be anything you define yourself by. But it can.”
Bucky sighed, letting himself fall back against the bed's headboard. “I guess I'm lucky the new Captain America has a degree in psychology.”
Sam let out a quick laugh. “Nah. This isn't anything I learned in class. You're just lucky I care about you.”
“Yeah, actually. I am.”
Bucky squeezed his hand, ever so softly, with fingers that could tear a door off its hinges in a second, and Sam thought:
I am too.

A Buffy rewatch 4x01 The Freshman
aka high school is hell but college is purgatory
Welcome to this dailyish text post series where I will rewatch an episode of Buffy and go on an impromptu rant about it for an hour. Is it about one hyperspecific thing or twenty observations? 10 or 3k words? You don’t know! I don’t know!!! In this house we don’t know things.
And today I’m finally starting season 4, and you know what, I’m excited! And overwhelmed! I am both Buffy and Willow!
Tumblr media
I think when it comes to ranking Buffy seasons, for many people s4 tends to be pretty low on their lists. I for one definitely had a bone to pick with it as well as season 6 on my first run through back in the days.
But... I came to appreciate both by now for some of the same reasons I disliked them. Which is the show’s ability to go with the flow, and adapt its core themes as the characters continue to grow and age.
Buffy was originally a high school horror show. Which in itself went through many changes and development over the course of the first three seasons, but that main setting and the core concept of high school being hell remained. The demons and problems the characters were facing were centered around things like their anxieties about the future, growing up, and how their relationships shaped who they’d become.
But these were always dynamic characters and stories... so of course at some point we had to leave high school behind. And that meant uprooting almost everything familiar about the show up until this point.
Hell, we even blew up the damn high school in 3x22 to signify that abrupt and drastic turn the show was about to take.
Of course, in many ways, it’s not actually all that extreme and new. This is still the same show with the same characters, and Buffy is still doing vampire murder acrobatics in her spare time. But the change of scenery brings the necessity of adjustment on so many different aspects of the show, down to its themes, and I came to love that about season 4.
Sure, I’ll miss the Scoobies hanging around together in high school all the time, but relationships change for most of us at that age. Everyone has their own stuff to deal with, whether it’s their studies, job, new friends, significant others, etc. It’s a whole new world of possibilities as well as anxieties.
So I could definitely relate to both Buffy and Willow’s frershman experience. The idea of a fresh start and what appears to be endless opportunities is intoxicating... but it’s also disorienting with a healthy dose of disillusionment. College is weird you guys.
This is also going to be the only season where college will be the main backdrop of the show, even though Buffy will only drop out in s6, I think? I don’t know, I’m fuzzy on the details, so I guess we’ll see.
Let’s do a lightning round of some random things from this episode:
- I really love what we see of Xander and Buffy’s relationship in this episode. As Xander didn’t go to college, he’ll be feeling isolated from the group even more so as a result... but here, he managed to turn up at just the right moment to interrupt Buffy’s own isolation. I love that and I love that scene. “You’re my hero” - my heart just grows each and every time a bit.
(Although I’m not sure how I feel about the whole part where Xander implies that he’s masturbating to images of Buffy??? Just... why. Why is Joss Whedon like that.)
- Pedro Pascal is in this! I barely recognized him but it’s he! The scene between him and Buffy with them trying to find their way on campus is also super nice and cute and real. Sure, he gets eaten immediately after that, but it’s still a nice moment.
- Riley not remembering Buffy’s name after their first encounter and identifying her as “Willow’s friend” is kinda funny? Also another implication of the difference between how quickly Buffy and Willow are fitting into their new environment.
- Sunday is a fun villain. Like, she’s an asshole, but she’s also a vampire so that makes sense. I kinda love that she’s picking on Buffy because she’s a freshman and they’re preying on those, and less interested in the whole Slayer deal. It adds to the theme of Buffy feeling small and unlike herself for most of the episode.
- The asshole prof is honestly not far off from reality. That’s why you gotta ask around before signing up for a course, kids.
- Dad!Giles is out, Cool Unemployed Giles all your friends have a crush on is in. Oh, and this is Olivia’s first appearance! Too bad we’re never gonna actually develop her character, but oh well.
- Willow’s panic about how they missed the ‘circumstances’ that might’ve led to Buffy dropping out and taking off when they find the fake note is kinda cute? It’s a nice reminder that as much as they are and will be all sorts of wrapped up in their own lives, they still want to be there for each other. It’s just getting harder and more complicated each day.
Anywho, I’m excited! I’m still gonna agree with 19-year-old me that s4 has probably the least interesting season arc (especially when it comes to the big bad), but I can’t wait to rediscover everything else that’s going on here.
Not to mention the fact that we’ll be getting some of the best episodes of the show this season. (Like Beer Bad... Well, okay, I’m kidding, but also watch me defend that episode’s right to be just an overall dumb ride!!!)
I got this!

A Match Made In Heaven (cont.)
Chapter 4
Sloane and I stare at Hayden in silence for a few moments, neither of us knowing what to say until..
"I know of a way you two could bear children that MAY work but it's risky and not 100% guaranteed to be successful," Sloane warned. "It's a new procesure EROS was working on...well, rather ROWAN was working on..."
"Sloane, please tell us," Hayden begged.
Sloane looks at both of us nervously, her fingers fidgeting with the hem of her blouse.
"Well..when Khaan and I took over EROS, I found a secret file that shows Rowan wanted to develop robot/human hybrids. It consists of using genetic engineering to create the hybrid from skin cells. These cells can be manipulated to create a baby with human and robot DNA.."
She pauses at the sight of our shocked but hopeful faces.
Hayden urges her to continue. "We'd like to hear more about this."
Sloane sighs then continues, "Rowan developed a blueprint for a nanotechnology based chip that can inject genetic code into skin cells. This process was dubbed TNT or Tissue Nano Transfection. It allows the genetic code of a robot to be passed onto its offspring along with human genetic code."
I sit up straighter, curious. "So Sloane..you're saying Hayden and I could literally have a biological child that way?"
She nods her head, "Yep pretty much. The genetic code makes it possible for a human female to nurture and carry like a normal pregnancy. You and Hayden COULD become parents this way but ethically, I'm not comfortable with it."
Hayden looks at me with an expression of shock but also of hope.
"Riley, this is unbelievable! We could have a child of our own. I hate Rowan more than words can say but this could be our chance!"
I turn to Sloane. "This is alot to think about and I mean ALOT. I appreciate you telling us though. Hayden and I will have to seriously think about it."
Sloane stands up then says, "Remember it's a 50/50 chance, guys. And Riley.. the procedure could cause some serious, even life threatening effects for you. You both are my best friends and I'd never forgive myself if I helped cause harm to either of you. If I were you, I'd just push this out of your minds and just enjoy being together." She beams, "AND getting married soon!"
We talk for a few minutes longer then Sloane says good night and leaves.
"Hayden, how do you feel about all that? I feel that it's something you and I need to seriously ponder and discuss," I said.
Hayden runs his hands through his thick blonde hair then clasps them together behind his head, leaning back on the couch. "It's a huge thing to consider but I don't want to jeopardize your health or life. If I lost you or even the baby..."
I wrap my arms around him. "Let's get ready for bed. We can resume this another time."
Hand in hand, we retreat to the bedroom and lay down snuggled against one another.
"Hayden?"
"Yes my love?"
"I love you and I'm sorry I upset you earlier."
"I love you too and I'm the one who should apologize. I blew everything out of proportion."
Hayden pulls me to him in a good night kiss and we sleep peacefully through the night.
The next morning, I wake up to find Hayden has left the bed. I smell something mouthwatering wafting in from the kitchen. Just as I was about to get up, Hayden comes walking in with a smile and holding a tray of food.
"Nuh uh.. You get back in bed missy. I brought you some breakfast in bed, operative words- IN BED," he grins.
"Mmmm it smells amazing! What is it?"
"Scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, and a homemade blueberry muffin," he grins. "I also brought you a cup of coffee. You do take 2 sugars and a splash of milk, right?"
"That I do future hubby," I grin.
Hayden hands me the tray. "Future hubby..that has a nice ring to it," he gushes.
He sits down beside me as I eat and then says, "Hey I was thinking you and I could set a wedding date. If you want to that is."
I wipe muffin crumbs from my lips with a napkin. "I thought about that after you proposed."
He raises one eyebrow, "Oh really?..well what date did you choose?"
"September 29th."
Surprised, he replies, "Riley that's my birthday! Well, the day I first came online that is." Hayden nudges me teasingly. "I could always wear my birthday suit," he waggles his eyebrows at me devilishly.
"No sir you won't. That's for my eyes only," I retort.
"Fine, fine. Have it your way." Hayden laughs.
After breakfast we meet up with our friends at Archer and Hopps, Damien's favorite bar. Nadia, Steve, Damien are there and even Alana, after a much needed break in between missions. I'm still dressed in yesterday's outfit so when Damien sees me, his jaw drops and his eyes go wide.
"Wow..um, hi Riley." he stutters. Alana glances at him then rolls her eyes.
"For God's sakes Nazario, pull your tongue back in your mouth."
Nadia embraces me in an excited hug as does Steve.
"Riley, you texted all of us about a special announcement you wanted to make?," Nadia urges with a smile.
I reply, "Let's sit down and get our drinks first."
After we all settle in at the bar with mojitos in our hands, I hold Hayden's hand and glance at him with a knowing look. He responds with a nod and a smile.
"Guys, Hayden proposed to me yesterday and I said yes!" I exclaim happily. Then I show them the ring.
Alana's eyes got huge. "Damn Riley..better not go swimming with that. You'll go straight to the bottom," she teases.
Everyone gives their congratulations except Damien, who just simply stares at me then realizes he ought to do the same.
"Uh, congrats Hayden and Riley. This is really...a big decision for you both."
I look at Damien's dejected expression.
"Damien, can I speak to you privately?"
"Yeah sure." He points to a table in the far corner. "I'll be over there."
"Okay I'll be right there," I sadly reply.
I lean in to whisper in Hayden's ear, "I'll be back in a few..I have to break things off with Damien."
He looks at me surprised, "Riley I've already told you I'm fine with you being with him too."
"No Hayden. I'm going to be your wife soon. You are my soulmate and you're soon to be my husband. I refuse to keep having a side piece."
He looks at me with adoration and care. "Hopefully he won't hold a grudge or end up hating me."
"We'll talk in a bit," I reply.
I walk over to where Damien is sitting and I notice he's already knocked back 2 shots of rum. I sit down across from him and hold his hand but he snatches it away.
"Hey you," I smile weakly.
"Hey Riley," he frowns.
"Damien we need to talk.."
"I'd say we do. Didn't know you were so anxious to get hitched."
I pull his apartment key out of my purse and gently place it in his hand, closing his fingers over it.
He looks at they key then glances back up at me, the hurt raging in his eyes.
I take a deep breath then reply, "I feel that it's best to give the key back. You will always be my best friend and a huge part of my life bu--," I stop when Damien throws a hand up stopping my speech in its tracks.
"Save it Riley. The short version is you're breaking up with me because of marrying Hayden, I get it." He growls. He sighs then, "Look I'm sorry I snapped at you. I'm not going to lie..Riley it's gonna take me a long time to get over you."
I nod. "You don't hate me or Hayden do you?"
"Of course not. Hayden's a great guy but he's also now the luckiest guy in the world."
His eyes linger on my face a few seconds longer, that stare making me struggle inside, wanting to just make love to him with my whole body and soul. But I know I can't, not anymore.
He resumes, "If you both want me there, I'd love to attend your wedding."
"You know we do! I thought that was a given," I say.
Damien squeezes my hand. "We better get back to our friends. But yes Riley we are still friends. Hayden too."
I give him a hug, Damien holding onto me like he doesn't want to let me go.
We rejoin our friends at the bar and Nadia begs me to participate in a game of 'Truth or Drink'.
"Sure why not," I shrug.
Okay cuz..here's one for you. What's one thing about Hayden that you dislike?"
"Nadia! I love everything about Hayden!"
"Aw c'mon Riley, no one's perfect."
"Okay, okay. Um..he kicks me in his sleep."
Hayden whips his head around to look at me surprised. "I do?"
"Yeah I don't know if you have restless legs or you're kickboxing in your dreams but that's how I got that bruise on my foot last week. "But all is forgiven," I smile at him.
Hayden smooches my cheek.
Nadia looks at Hayden, "Okay Hayden, if there's one thing you could change about yourself, what would it be?"
"Easy. I'd be a real human," he simply states.
I look at him concerned. "I love you just the way you are, Hayden Young. And I always will."

Riley and Maya: I Think I Wanna Marry You - Chapter 11 (Summer Camp Counselors Part 1)
Tumblr media
*Author’s Note - A new saga begins in my Riley and Maya series. This is also a perfect jumping on point for new readers (although if you like this story, you should obviously go back and read the previous chapters). I hope you enjoy this three part story a lot, since I really enjoyed making it. It starts out very silly but eventually hits on some important modern social issues. Enjoy!
It was the first day of summer camp at the Upstate New York Summer Camp for Girls. Many preteen girls were getting off of school buses and parents' cars as they eagerly headed to the middle of the camp to find out where they would be bunking for the next two weeks. Then coming out of a nearby cabin wearing two blue staff shirts were Riley and Maya. As the two saw the young girls coming onto the camp grounds, an excited Riley said, "Aw, look at them Maya. Young girls that have come ready to experience two weeks of bonding, boating, braiding, and beautiful friendships that will last forever." Maya rolled her eyes and said, "More like two weeks of us dealing with barfing, balling, bruises, and beautiful disasters that'll scar these kids for life." Riley then said, "Come on Maya. This is going to be a fun summer job for us. I mean we should be glad my workplace gave me two weeks off to work here. And since you get a month off from school, this is gonna be the perfect way for us to spend more time helping the world together. I mean I used to love coming to this camp when I was a kid. It used to be my favorite thing to do every year." Maya then said, "If it was such a great camp, then why don't I remember you leaving to come here every summer?" Riley then said, "Well since you couldn't afford to come to camp, once I met you, I decided to stay home every summer so we could spend more time together." With wide eyes and a happy face Maya said, "Aww. That's so sweet. But even with that being said, I'm pretty sure this is still gonna be two weeks of hell." A curious looking Riley then said, "Then why did you sign up to be a camp counselor with me?" Maya then said, "Because you're my wife and I'll go anywhere you go." With wide eyes and a happy face Riley said, "Aww."
Several minutes later, Riley and Maya were walking towards a cabin as an excited looking Riley said, "Okay Maya. All of our campers have already gotten to our cabin. Now I already have a binder with the girls' emergency contacts and medical info sheets just in case." Maya then raised an eyebrow and said, "In case of what? We're spending two weeks in the woods. I spent my childhood growing up on the streets of the city where real dangers lie. This is gonna be a walk in the park. Literally. Because there's a park nearby." Riley then said, "Well any good summer camp counselor must hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. It's that philosophy that got me this job in the first place." Maya then said, "How could you know so much about being a camp counselor? This is your first time ever working at a summer camp." Riley then said, "Well I kind of helped out the counselors a whole lot back when I was a kid here. All of the other campers called me the Little Counselor." Maya rolled her eyes as she said, "And knowing you, you must have taken that as a compliment." A confused looking Riley then said, "Well why else would they have called me that?"
Moments later, Riley and Maya stepped into a cabin with ten preteen girls all sitting around and talking. Riley then knocked on the door and said, "Hi girls. Sorry to break the bonding time. But I'm going to be your counselor this summer. My name is Riley and this here is my co-counselor and best friend: Maya." Maya then tilted her head up a bit and said, "How ya doin?" Riley then said, "Now no need to call us by miss or m'am. We're all friends here. Now for our schedule today, first we have crafts. I thought we could all make matching friendship bracelets. And if we have extra time, we could use that to develop our own super secret handshake. Then after that..." Then suddenly one of the preteen girls looked out the window and said, "Look. A fox is outside the cabin!" A wide eyed an excited looking Maya said, "What!? I've never seen a real live fox before. Where!?" Suddenly Maya and all of the preteen girls ran out of the cabin as a slightly flustered Riley said, "But that's... that's not on our schedule!" Riley then stepped outside of the cabin to see Maya and the preteen girls running off as she said, "Wait. Where are you all going!?" Riley then heard Maya yelling, "Come on! Chase it down and corner it girls! We've got to snap a close up picture of it! Remember, if you don't snap it, then it didn't happen!" Riley then made a moaning sound as she hit her face. Then Riley began to run after the girls as she said, "Wait up!"
In the camp nurses office several preteen girls were getting ice packs put on their knees and shoulders as Riley and Maya stood outside of the office. An upset Riley said, "Maya, you shouldn't have taken the girls running through an uncharted trail. New trails have to be walked upon and studied carefully. If you hadn't been running, then you all wouldn't have run into that beehive and we wouldn't have had to deal with eight campers suffering from bee stings." Maya then said, "Relax Riley. No one was allergic to the bee stings. Plus we got that close up picture of the fox. Plus, battle bites to prove we worked hard to get it! RIGHT GIRLS!?" All of the preteen girls began to cheer as Riley hit her face while looking frustrated.
That evening Riley was sitting outside of the girls' shower room on a chair looking frustrated. Riley then looked at her watch and said, "It's been half an hour now. How long does it take ten preteen girls to get showered?" Riley then sighed and stepped up and began to open the door to the shower room as she said, "Okay. What's taking you all so long?" Then as Riley opened the door, a bucket of water fell on her head. Riley became soaked in water as she saw in front of her was her ten preteen girl campers in the shower all giggling and laughing at Riley. Riley then with an upset face said, "Okay, that was very unkind of you all. Cabin lights out early tonight!"
Riley was walking towards the girls' cabin in the dark while carrying a jug of water. As she carried the heavy jug, she made some grunting noises. As she got near the door, Maya walked out of the cabin and said, "Oh hey, Riley. You okay there?" Riley then said, "No. Who knew water could be so heavy? So did the girls turn the cabin lights out early?" Maya nodded and said, "Oh yeah, they did." Riley then heard murmurs of talking from inside of the cabin, and then said, "Then why do I still hear talking?" Maya then said, "Oh, well you said cabin lights out. But you didn't say anything about flashlights. They've been playing strip poker since you left." Riley then said, "What!? Strip poker!? Maya, they're preteen girls!" Maya then said, "Relax. They've only been taking off watches and hair bands. You know, stupid stuff. That's it." Then the two heard a preteen girl inside the cabin said, "Woo. Ryan is taking off her socks! We're getting down and dirty now!" Riley sighed and said, "Well I guess that doesn't so too bad." Then Riley and Maya heard one of the preteen girls say, "Okay Miriam. Time to take off that underwear!" A suddenly very worried Riley then ran into the cabin and yelled, "Nooo!"

Part 1 Part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You have been waiting in the parking lot in the car for the past 15 minutes, in 5 minutes Dan will arrive for your date and you don’t know if you’re ready for it. Sure, Dan was a great guy, he was nice and funny and polite. But there is a part of you that is hearing Bucky’s words in your brain over and over again and as much as you try you can’t silence it.
You hate how insecure you feel right now, what if Bucky was right and Dan was using you for some ulterior motive? Or if Dan was drunk and regretted asking  you for this date? You try to calm yourself down, thinking about all the possibilities in the worst case scenario “You went to another failed date and you had an overpriced cup of coffee” you think.
You get out of the car when you see Daniel coming down the street “You look beautiful.” He says you can’t help but blush, you are wearing some jeans, with a white shirt and flats. Nothing that deserves such a compliment “You look nice too, black really make your eyes pop.”  He smiles shyly at you, having almost the same reaction as you with the complement.
The coffee shop was spacious but really cozy and well decorated “I hope you like it in here, they have the best chocolate cake I have ever eaten.” He says happily as you two sit on a table close to a window “I bet, I am dying to taste this cake that you keep telling me about.”
He orders for the two of you, the two pieces of cake and two cups of hot chocolate with pieces of melted white chocolate “This looks amazing, how you found this place?”  You ask taking a sip of the hot chocolate, almost moaning, this was the best hot chocolate you ever drank in your life.
“We are really close to the record store, so I come here a lot.” You nod “If I ever lived or worked near here. I would be here all the time.” He smiles at you “Well, I try not come here every day but it’s hard especially on Wednesdays that they make choco chip banana muffins. It is the best.”
“Wednesday… I am sure I have to come here to try it.” You don’t even like banana that much, but the way that he was telling made you want to try it " I can make you company if you want.”  He suggests, with hopeful eyes. Dan was a mystery you, sometimes he was so confident and other times he was so cute and shy. You didn’t know if you wanted to kiss him or pinch his cheeks.
“I would love that, then you could recommend me another drink. I want to try this whole menu.”
You two keep talking, you told him about your job in the Stark Industries and a little about your childhood and family. You notice that when you were talking, all of Dan’s attention was focused on you even if it is the most mundane thing.  It was a nice feeling have all this attention, it wasn’t something that you were used to.
In return, he told you about how his parents’ divorced when he was 15 years old, how his father moved back to England and how he loved to spend Christmas with his father. He told you about this little sister Riley, she lived in New York with their mother and she spent a lot of time in his apartment.
“I swear to you if I had a spare bedroom she would be living there. She knows where everything is, it is almost her apartment.” He tells you excited, you smile at him, loving how passionate he was telling this story “It’s good that she likes you, this means that you are a good brother.”
He smiles at you, ordering a piece of cake to go. After you to finish eating, he insisted on paying the check offering you his hand “Would like to go to the record store? It’s 5 minutes from here, usually, there aren’t a lot of customers on Sunday but Riley is there.”
You nod, still not wanting to this date to end “Sure, but I might ditch you to look at the records.” You say playfully as he opens the door for you “You hurt me, I will try to be more interesting than the records. “He says pretending to be offended, you laugh squeezing his arm.
The walk to the record store is short when you two arrive you hear a little bell. The place was small, but you never saw so many records in your life, it was like a dream. You start to look around, you almost faint when you see that they have the first record of your favorite band.
“I need this.” You say to yourself, you have been looking for this record for a couple of years now but you could never find it. Not even on eBay or Amazon “It’s yours.” Dan says surprising  you “ Oh no I can’t accept.” You don’t even know how much the record costs, but this seems like a huge gift for a first date.
“It’s not a big deal, think of it as the flowers that I should have bought you.” You are still reluctant to accept the gift, you don’t know him very well and this seems to kind “Please accept, this record must have been here for five years at least. You are going to put it to good use.”
His hands run along your arm, you nod saying “Okay, but next time I pay for coffee and the cake.” He smiles at you “It’s a deal then.”
You keep looking around until you find a few more things that interested you.
You found some official mixtapes of the Avengers, it was incredible. Everyone had one, Steve, Thor, Tony, Nat even Bucky had one. You can’t help but smile, it was so hard to find things inspired on The Winter Soldier that you had to buy this for him.
So you bought the one for Bucky, not only because it was Bucky but he would really enjoy the songs on it, you bought one for Wanda because her birthday was coming up and this was kind of a perfect gift for her. And more important you brought one for Steve for the only reason that the eleventh song was Candyman by Christina Aguilera and even if it wasn’t the most correct historical you need to show this to him.
In the end of the date, Dan walked you to your car “This was fun.” You say as you two arrive at your car, you look at the sky and is almost night you didn’t even see the day pass “It was, it really was… we should do this again sometime. Maybe dinner? During the week or any day you can. ” He says hopeful, you nod smiling at his awkwardness“ Of course, during the week works fine for me.”
You look at him and he is smiling so bright, you get closer to him “Can I kiss you, Daniel?” He nods surprised, you get on your tip toes lock your lips on his. You feel his hands around your waist, his lips are incredibly soft against yours.
Dan was a good kisser, you can’t deny it but for someone reason, you weren’t lost in the moment.  You were painfully aware of your surroundings “Wow, this was incredible .” He says as he breaks off the kiss, you smile at him not knowing what to say “You are a great kisser, Dan.”
He opens the car door for you, as you start to drive, you keep thinking about your date. You were happy, it was a good date , the best one you had in a long time but the kiss wasn’t magical. You shouldn’t be overthinking this, it was a nice fun date you should be happy for what it was.
When you get home, you see that Wanda and Natasha on your couch eating your ice cream “What are you guys doing here?” You asking siting on the couch with them “Well we came to visit you, but you were out. So we stayed, giving company to your ice cream.” Wanda says like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
You nod not seeing the point in arguing “So… where were you?” Nat asked with a smirk on her lips, you roll your eyes at her “On a date, but you already knew that. You are the greatest spy in the world, and our dear witch here can read minds.”
“True, but actually Tony was the one that told us. He was really happy with this arrangement …was kind of weird. But this doesn’t matter tell us about your date, everything. ” You tell them every single detail about your date, how he treated you, what you guys did and how you felt when you kissed him.
“You know what you should do?” Wanda asks finishing your ice cream, you shake your head no afraid what is about to come “ Invite him to my birthday party, I am your friend for over 2 years now and I never see you want to go to a second date with any other guy …you like him. So invite him over, let us meet him and give you our seal of approval.”
“I will think about it, Wan. Do you know how do you want to celebrate?” This is a terrible idea, even though Dan was at that party that you met him, there weren't almost any Avengers around there, most of them were on a mission. But now Dan would meet everyone including and especially Bucky.
“Pool party, no strangers just us and well Dan. But will be so much fun. Drinks, cake and no guys that don’t know the meaning of the word no.” Before you can answer, Nat smiles at you and says “And we cannot forget super soldiers in bathing suits, it’s not every day that we can see all these abs in front of us.”
This sounds like a really good plan, a fun afternoon with cake is much better than any place with overpriced drinks. You just don’t know with you have a bathing suit or what was the last time that you wore one “Okay, I am in.” You say pretending to be annoyed.
Wanda pulls you into a hug, almost making you two falling off the couch “It’s going to be so much fun, especially the part where our dear James meets Daniel.”

i redesigned casey and now i kinda ship him w/ sal..... i’ve been Developing him a bit too and this is what ive come up w,
sal and casey would be a cute couple imo.... they'd probably butt heads at first, bc casey butts heads with Everyone at first by nature, and he's really argumentative naturally whereas sal is kind of Nervous around new people, but like... sal can find the good in anyone, which is somethin' i think casey would need, because he's not good at expressing the good in himself!!then they probably found some middle ground......... sal has a very calming presence, i think, he's a very Sweet person and people like being around him a lot........ but he'd definitely be someone who wouldn't judge him or say anything cruel, he always puts a lot of time and consideration into the people around him and i think that'd be something very good for my boy, cause then he could also just....Develop a good and nice friendship with sal!! they probably became real close real quick and it....confused everyone, i bet!! casey probably gets frustrated sal doesn't tend to Value himself as much as he should and doesn't really stand up for himself. i feel like casey is.....Very Open about finding Sal attractive but just not in front of sal, like he's casually just like "hey, how is that man single when he looks like a literal god, jw. askin for a friend" and everyone in the groups like..........hey man do u wanna date sal? kinda sounds like you wanna date sal,
Casey is secretive to No One, except for Sal...................whenever Sal is around he clams up! He ain't gonna say nothing gay in front of that boy (who he would totally smooch if he offered tbh) i picture casey being like, that one kid w/ no friends who watches anime and decides he's gonna learn japanese........
Casey draws Anime in his sketch book which he shows to no one except friends, and also hates being asked to draw someone because he thinks its totally uncool (he'd probably draw sal if he asked though) he's probably pretty good by now since.......Not havin friends gives you time to work on stuff!! I think he'd be interested in animation to some extent, too!! casey is also a photographer and has a degree in filmaking....I Imagine him RLY wanting to take pics of sal but being too shy to ask, also he puts timers so he doesn't like sal's selfies too quickly bc he Doesn't Want to Look TOO gay. he probably flirts with sal a bit but makes sure it's mild and sounds like a joke!! sal has.......No Idea, honestly, he's just like.....Totally clueless to it, I mostly picture sal as having........ Self esteem Resembling a rollercoaster and sometimes he'll be like "YES I AM GOOD AND PEOPLE LIKE ME" other times he's like "me? i am a garbage rat and i come from the sewers, my truest home," so has a hard time really Believing people like him, For Some Reason, casey probably lowkey wants to confess but doesn't know how, he's also probably mildly terrified he's gonna make sal uncomfortable bc he really values the friendship and.....Doesnt wanna Gay It Up if it's not needed,  i kind of think casey's probably had a few friendships that...........Didn't pan out, bc they found out he was gay and got very Weird about it, and he probably tries to......Not Replicate that, despite sal being Very considerate..... he singlehandedly organized a gsa in highschool and then also planned their Queer Prom almost Completely by himself...........  he's like, the last person in the world who would be unkind to casey about something like that!!
Casey is just a nervous boy who often worries about being Accepted, even by other Very Gay folks...........he's probably a lil nervous about like, intimacy and stuff. doesn't like being touched without being explictly asked.......
he had a casual relationship with riley but riley is.............Very chill, so i think it wouldn't be too unpleasant for him.............. casey probably doesn't like not being the one in control though!! it works out bc sal is kind of uncomfy w/ sex in general and demisexual......... he's not adverse to it but it does make hm nervous!!
he animates sometimes in his freetime, i think, he has.......Lots of free time, lbr, his  parents are both like...... Doctors, so he doesn't worry that much about Money or anything! and tries to fill his spare time with...... Whatever, really, he pobably has a few weird skills he never talks about,
mitch was probably casey's first real friend... he and riley didn't know eachother very well by the time riley dropped out, but he and mitch both stayed and finished college, so they probably became pretty good friends!! mitch stayed in touch with riley, so by extension so did casey. otherwise casey probably would've been too insecure to put any effort into the connection.
he’s kind of typically “flamboyant.” snarky. will not take any shit. he’s a photographer, he has a degree in filmmaking and enjoys it a lot. very secretive, doesn’t really share any personal details with people. pretty judgemental. will comment on your outfit if he thinks it’s bad or like… straight up laugh at your opinion sometimes. he can win arguments but……Often Unintentionally hurts feelings doin so!!
he secretly likes people more than he lets on he’s just….Super bad at socializing because he’s like inherently argumentative and cant turn it off. he was also not a popular kid, he moved to a new town and was really chubby  and people were just… not nice to him. he was v self conscious ab it!! hes Very New to friendships!! his first real friend was when he was an adult already.  he’s got a lot of softness inside of him!!
OTHER FACTS...........
*casey self harms, he’s not proud of it but doesn’t hide it either.......
*he’s been diagnosed w/ adhd and anxiety but...... Does Not Believe He has either of those things
*constantly on the defense
*doesn’t have a good relationship w/ his parents but..........Doesn’t really bother fighting w/ them, they’re not the nicest but he just.Gnuinely doesnt care anymore.
* he and sanchez dont have the best relationship, casey’s theory is its bc he used to be fwbs with riley and Was Not at all subtle about it but like…. when he first meets sanchez he comments how he thought he’d be taller, and then immediately follows it up with “Btw, i fucked your bf.”
i’ll add more to this later................. also if anyone read this whole thing what would be a good ship name for them cause i got,.......No clue

the willow tree.
fandom: girl meets world ship: riley matthews x lucas friar  word count: 4,000  series: harry potter au  year: six  summary: riley and lucas have been dancing around each other for almost six whole years and it’s getting a bit ridiculous, but maybe the magical willow tree will be able to lend a hand.
Riley fiddled with the yellow and black striped tie that was hanging around her neck, nervously running her fingers through her hair. There was a knot settling in her stomach and she really had no idea the reason for it. Today was just like any other day, but for some reason Riley could feel a shift in the air, and she wasn’t able to put her finger on it. Looking around the great hall she made eye contact with Charlie Gardener a table over, his identical Hufflepuff tie hanging loose around his neck, he gave her a small grin and she lifted her hand to wave before turning her attention back to her breakfast companions.
Her best friend, Maya was sitting across from her, blond hair tied back into a loose braid, laughing at the imitation their other friend, Zay was doing of the peculiar way that Professor Flitwick used his wand, a bright smile on his face. Both of them wear proudly wearing their Gryffindor ties, a sight that still slightly panged at Riley’s heart, even after six years. She had missed the begin of the imitation, and could only look at two of her best friends, a faint grin on her face.
“You okay?” The sound of his voice sent a shiver down her spine and she turned her face slightly, her brown eyes meeting his bright green ones, which were etched with concern.
“Oh yeah, Lucas, I’m fine.” She said, her heart beating erratically in her chest. He gave her a small grin, before nodding and turning his attention back to Zay. She, however, continued to look at him, studying the side of his face, thoughtfully spinning her fork in her hand.
His sandy blonde hair was laying flat for the most part, his green eyes sparkling with delight as he laughed at his best friend. The sight made Riley weak in the knees, this was a recent development, sure, she had always known Lucas was cute, but only recently had she started to feel nervous and jittery around him when he was near.
Which seemed to be all the time these days, sure they had always been close, but now it just seemed like they were always around each other. That was probably one of the reasons that so many of their classmates seemed to think that the two of them were together, that and the fact that their friendship had taken on a new affection level lately always put Riley’s heart in a tizzy.
“Did you hear me, Riles?” Lucas’ voice shook her out of her daze and she realized that she had been staring at him, so he no doubt assumed that he had been listening to her.
“Huh, uh yeah, of course I was Lucas.” She gave him a smile, quickly looking at Maya who had a small smirk on her lips. Zay as also sporting a similar expression and Riley wanted to send them both swift kicks under the table.
“Oh cool, so you’re all set to study this afternoon, outside in our spot?” Her heart was racing again, being alone with Lucas was something that Riley used to crave and cherish, but recently she had been avoiding it, due to the weird way her heart would speed up and her palms would sweat when they were sitting six inches apart at the breakfast table.
“Yeah, that sounds like fun.” She said with a grin, as nervous as she was, it had been far too long since her and Lucas had been to their spot, a willow tree just beyond the eye scan of the castle, and she missed spending time with him. Not to mention that Lucas’ smile was very very hard to say no to.
“Awesome, I gotta go help Hagrid with something, but I’ll see you guys later.” Lucas rose from his seat and Riley followed him with her eyes, he gave Zay and Maya a small wave, before squeezing her shoulder lightly. They all mutter out goodbyes, and she watches him greet a couple of Ravenclaws entering the hall, smiling to herself, it truly amazed her how nice he really was.
year one
“I can’t believe it’s my first week of classes and I’m already late, hopefully dad won’t be too mad at me, it’s not my fault that the staircase moved when I was on it.” Riley was fast walking down the long corridor of the east third floor section of the castle, desperately hoping that the History of Magic classroom would be around the next corner. On the first day of class she had walked with a bunch of other Hufflepuff students and hadn’t payed too much attention to where she was going, now she was definitely regretting that decision.
Luckily the class she was late to was taught by her father and despite his sometimes harsh teaching methods, she was a daddy’s girl, so he wouldn’t be too hard on her. She hoped. Her pace was increasing with every step and she was almost out of breath as she rounded the last corner, immediately slamming into someone and falling back onto the floor.
“Oh! I am so sorry, are you okay.” Riley felt tears prickling in the corner of her eyes, more out of embarrassment than anything else and she nodded, grabbing some of her things that had scattered around the hallway. “Here, let me help you with that.” Riley looked out of the corner of her eye at the figure she had run into and saw that it was a boy, probably around the same year as her.
“It’s totally fine, I fall all the time, probably would have fallen anyway, so don’t worry about it.” She said with a smile, getting to her feet, the boy smiled at her handing her the things he had picked up, licking his lips. “Thank you for helping, most people probably would have just kept walking.” She said, clearing her throat.
“Luke man, we gotta go, we’re gonna get killed if we’re any later, come on.” Riley then noticed that this boy, Luke, was not alone and his friend was tugging his arm trying to move them along faster. The boy smiled at her again and gave her a little wave before being yanked down the hallway. A flash of red was visible on his chest and Riley vaguely wondered if he knew Maya.
Later that night Maya pulls her away from a conversation with her roommate Darby, to introduce her to some of her Gryffindor friends. Riley gets up, kind of reluctantly, she was still a little hurt that her and Maya had been placed in different house and would have to spend the next seven years completely separated. Sure, she felt completely at home with her fellow Hufflepuffs, but she wished that her and Maya could be together.
The closer the two get to the Gryffindor table, the easier it is for Riley to make out figures amongst the crowd of uniforms and Riley’s breath hitches when she catches sight of the boy from earlier. And they seem to be moving right towards him.
“Lucas, Zay, this is my best friend Riley. Riles, this is Lucas and Zay.” Maya introduces and Zay merely waves at her, too busy shoveling mashed potatoes into his mouth to speak, which Maya rolls her eyes at and she slaps him on the shoulder. It takes Lucas a moment longer to pull his attention away from his food before he spins around in his seat, a look of recognition flashing across his face as he gets a good look at her.
“Hi Riley, nice to meet you.” He grins and holds his hand out which she takes and a similar smile spreads across her own face. “I’m Lucas.”
“I love it.” She blushes, shaking her head lightly. “Nice to meet you too, Lucas.” She stands there and chats with Lucas and Zay, mostly Lucas, for a few more minutes before she has to make her way back over to the Hufflepuff table, but not before she’s made plans to sit with them tomorrow at breakfast.
Her heart beats rapidly the entire way back across the great hall.
“Riles what on earth are you so nervous about?” Maya asked as they made their way across the green, slowly ambling towards the library. Riley was in desperate need of a book for her Charms essay and Maya was trying to pass time before her afternoon Quidditch practice. “You and Lucas hang out all the time, unless…” Maya trailed off and Riley let out a forced laugh.
“I’m not nervous, Maya, you’re being ridiculous.” Riley said with a light eye roll as they entered the library, Maya grimacing as she saw Farkle and Isadora studying in the corner, occasionally making eye contact with each other and smiling. Riley grinned, shooting Maya a look as they made their way through the stacks.
“Yeah, so you’re not totally in love with Lucas and have been avoiding spending alone time with him because of said love and now you’re hanging out with him in your special spot and are nervous of what might happen.” Maya said, rather loudly, earning her both a shush from Riley and the librarian who was floating books among the stacks.
“Ok, so maybe I have feelings for Lucas, but it’s not like anything is going to happen. I’m not nervous. I just, am afraid I’m not going to do well on my exams.” Riley said, finding the book she needed and folding it into her arms, turning to give Maya a look, Maya merely snorted.
“You’ve never done poorly on an exam ever, Riles. I doubt you’re nervous about those.” Riley tucked her hair nervously behind her ear, obviously Maya was completely right, but Riley hadn’t been lying when she has said that nothing was going to happen between them.
“Alright, so I’m nervous about being alone with Lucas, but I wasn’t lying when I said that nothing was going to happen between us.” She said, checking her book out with the librarian. Maya didn’t say anything at first, still looking disgusted about being in the library to begin with.
The two of them exited the library, making their way to the Gryffindor common room so Maya could get ready for practice.
“Look, I don’t know why you’re so nervous. You like him, he likes you, it’s been exhausting watching you two dance around each other for years now.” Riley shook her head as soon as the words left Maya’s mouth.
“He doesn’t like me, Maya. I’m pretty sure he likes Missy Bradford and while I am not her biggest fan, I want him to be happy.” Riley’s heart ached in her chest a little bit at those words. She wasn’t totally sure what Lucas and Missy’s relationship was, but she had seen them talking more than once in the hallways and Riley wouldn’t blame Lucas if he liked Missy. They had reached the Gryffindor common room by now and Riley really wanted this conversation to be over.
“Lucas does not like Missy Bradford trust me.” Maya rolled her eyes again and Riley merely shrugged, holding her book to her chest and biting her lip. She wanted to believe that and believe that Lucas liked her, but it was just hard for her to believe it. “I have to get to practice, but don’t stress yourself out too much, Riles.” Maya tapped Riley’s shoulder and disappeared into the common room, leaving Riley alone in the hallway.
year four
Riley had been sitting in the hospital wing for almost two whole days now, her legs were tired, desperate to be used, but Riley couldn’t bring herself to go anywhere besides the great hall, her dorm and her classes. It had been two days since Lucas had taken the fall off his broom and he had yet to wake up and she fully planned on being here when he did. Things had been off between them lately, and Riley was unsure what exactly had gotten them there, but the minute he had slipped from his broom, she had thrown all that out the window.
She reflected back to when it seemed like things had shifted, and it seemed like it was right around the time of the Yule Ball. She originally had thought maybe she would go with Lucas, but when Charlie had asked her, she had a hard time turning him down. Following the dance, her and Charlie started spending more time together and while she would hardly say he’s her boyfriend by any means, he’s a nice boy and she enjoys spending time with him.
But, Lucas was also a nice boy and she liked spending time with him too.
Taking a shaky breath, she looked at Lucas, his eyes closed and his skin still looking a little pale and clammy. She knew it wouldn’t be long before they woke up him and she was anxious to see him for real again, and be able to talk to him. It had been too long since they had had a real conversation with each other. Sitting forward in her chair, she grabbed his hand and gave it a light squeeze, not wanting to let go.
She had been so scared seeing him get hit, she had been watching him the entire game, immediately taking notice of his lack of goggles, a bad idea with the amount of rain. She knew that she had promised Charlie to watch him and cheer him on in his quest for the snitch, but her heart was too dead set on making sure that Lucas made it through the game alright. So when she saw the bludger come out nowhere and knock him right off his broom, she was on her feet in an instant.
The minute that they had allowed her to see him, she vowed that she wasn’t going to leave his side until he was alright again. They had been acting weird around each other for too long for no good reason, he was one of her best friends and she was not going to let things be weird between them anymore. Other people had flowed in and out of the hospital wing, Maya and Zay were almost as frequent as she was, but Riley was a constant.
She used her other hand to stroke back his hair, smiling sadly to herself. Her heart had been beating erratically ever since Lucas had fallen, but when she touched his forehead, her heart was practically soaring. Something she was definitely not used to. Leaning forward she pressed a soft kiss to the top of his head, blushing when she looked around to see if anyone saw her.
Leaning back in her chair, she playing with his fingers, waiting patiently for him to awaken once more.
“Thanks again for studying with me, Riles. I always do so much better when we study together.” Lucas said once they were situated at the willow tree, their books scattered around them. She gave him a soft smile, leaning back against the tree.
“I knew you were only using me for my notes.” She teased, bumping him with her shoulder. He laughed and the sound vibrated through her body and she smirked slightly to herself. “So, how are things going with Missy?”
She saw him straighten slightly at her question and as soon as she noticed his discomfort, she suddenly felt a little guilty about asking. While she didn’t necessarily think Maya was lying earlier, she wanted to hear from Lucas himself about what was happening with Missy.
“There’s not really anything happening between me and Missy.” Riley nodded, thinking back to a couple of weeks ago on the monthly trip to Hogsmeade.
year six
“Maya, I don’t know what to do!” Riley exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air as her and her best friend walked side by side down the crowded streets of Hogsmeade. Maya eyed her slightly and Riley merely scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest. “Are you trying to imply that I’m being overdramatic?”
“You’re always being overdramatic.” Maya said with a affectionate laugh, putting her arm around Riley’s shoulder and leading her towards the Three Broomsticks. “Now, let’s talk about this Lucas problem over a couple of butterbeers alright.”
“Alright, fine.” Riley remarking, allowing Maya to lead her in the direction of the pub. Riley hardly ever went in here when she was in Hogsmeade, preferring the shops and scenery to the atmosphere of the Three Broomsticks, but she did have a soft spot for butterbeer. As soon as she swung open the door however, her stomach dropped.
There, in the corner of the pub, in a dark booth, was Lucas.
Now, this alone would be a problem, as he was currently the subject of Riley’s dilemma. She had been feeling weird butterflies around him and her heart had been beating faster and she needed Maya to help her through it. But, he wasn’t alone. Missy Bradford was next to him, a smile on her face, and a matching one on his.
“Riles.” Maya squeezed her arm, obviously seeing what Riley had noticed right away. “You okay?” Riley willed herself not to cry, not here, not now.
“I’m fine Maya, but I’m suddenly not thirsty, can we go.” Maya simply nodded, taking Riley’s hand and together they walked hand and hand out of the pub and back onto the crowded streets. Luckily, Maya dropped the subject and didn’t ask about it and Riley spent the rest of the afternoon, trying to think of anything but the sight of the two of them together.
It wasn’t that she didn’t want Lucas to be happy, because she did. It was just, why did it have to be her? Missy who had teased Riley since the day they met, of course Riley had refrained from ever telling any of her friends that, so Lucas had no idea. All she knew is that the sight of them together made her heart sink and created a hole in her stomach that she didn’t know how to get rid of.
She saw Missy and Lucas together a couple more times over the course of the next few weeks, most times they were talking in the great hall or standing together in the hallway. They were never doing anything that hinted they were together, but the sight of them alone was always enough to turn her in the opposite direction.
“Oh, I just, noticed you guys were spending a lot of time together, that’s all.” Riley said with a shrug, embarrassed now that she had even asked. A silence fell over them then, they both picked through their notes, exchanging books wordlessly as they did so. This was routine for them by now, they were each other’s favorite study partner, and they did this every single time exams rolled around.
“There’s a reason there’s nothing happening between me and Missy.” Lucas said about fifteen minutes later, looking up from his potions notes. Riley’s eyes widened in surprised, the pages of her transfiguration book rustling in the wind as she closed it to look at him. He shrugged once they made eye contact, suddenly looking like he didn’t want to talk about it anymore.
“Why?” She asked softly, moving closer to him, their shoulders were practically touching now and she could hear his breath. He smiled sadly at her, biting his lip and looking almost contemplative as she said his next words.
“You.” There was a moment where Riley considered pinching herself, because this almost felt like it wasn’t happening. It almost seemed like the entire area had gone silent around them, the wind still and the birds quiet, the only noise she could hear was her heartbeat echoing in her ear.
“Why would I be a reason that nothing could happen between you and Missy?” Her voice was soft and she refused to make eye contact, instead focusing on a loose string on her robes. She heard him sigh, becoming nervous once more.
“Because, I really like you Riley.” Immediately her eyes snapped up to meet his, she had never seen him look at her like this before and a warmth pooling in her stomach as she smiled softly.
“I really like you too, Lucas.” She said, and he smiled and gosh, the sight melted her heart more than any other smile she had ever seen in her life. “It took me a really long time to realize it, but I think the first moment I really knew that my feelings for you were deeper than I originally thought was when you were in the hospital wing, 4th year, after the quidditch incident.” Lucas winced at the mention of the event that ended his quidditch career, but then he smiled, taking her hand in his and squeezed it slightly.
“I’ve liked you since the minute we met, I think.” She grins, her heart doing flips in her chest. “I didn’t really realize it until we were third years, and I saw you laughing about something over at the Hufflepuff table and it just hit me, that I guess I wanted to be the person that always made you laugh.” The way he speaks is so earnest that she can’t help but let out a little giggle, which only makes his smile grow wider.
“I had no idea.” She says, blushing, looking down at her robes again. She feels bad now, he had liked her for that long, no wonder he had acted so weird about Charlie taking her to the Yule Ball.
“It’s okay.” He squeezes her hand and she grins. “I thought that I had lost you to Charlie though, and then I spent all of fifth year being down on myself, and you were there for me, through all of that. But nothing ever seemed like it was going to happen.” He shrugs again, beginning to play with her fingers, which sends her stomach into butterflies. “I guess, by the time Missy started flirting with me, I had kinda given up on us ever happening, so I figured I would give it a shot. I just never felt anything for her.”
Riley doesn’t even know how to process some of what he just said, but she doesn’t care, because this is the happiest she’s felt in weeks and all she wants to do now is kiss him and never let go of his hand as long as she lives.
“When I started realizing I liked you, I thought you didn’t like me back. I was just so insecure about myself, and then when everything happened with Missy, I just saw myself as not as good as her. I didn’t think I could compete with someone like her.” Riley has never been so open about her insecurities before, but Lucas has always made her feel safe.
“You never have to compete with anyone like her, Riley. Or anyone in general. You’re amazing.” This time, she can’t help it, she leans over and presses her lips against his, catching him slightly off guard, but he responds, kissing her back, and she can feel his lips forming a smile against hers.
“You’re pretty amazing too Lucas, and honestly, most of the reason that things ended with Charlie was because as great of a guy as he is, I didn’t feel nearly as much for him as I do you.” She smiles and settles back down next to him, her hand staying firm in his. He leans over and kisses her cheek, which makes her blush and they smile at each other before falling back into their comfortable silence.
“Hey Riles.” She looks at him, and he’s got a fond smile on his face that she definitely could get used to seeing. “I’m really glad I ran into you in the hallway.”
She smiles, “So am I.”
