Gonna drop this quick and run. But hear me out. I will start by saying that Ricky may very well have genuine feelings for Gina. I'm not dismissing that. I just couldn't help but notice somethings about Ricky's reactions here:

As soon as EJ and Gina start fighting in 3.05, Ricky immediately covers his ears (kinda like a child does when their parents are fighting at home). I get the feeling he was used to his parents fighting a lot when he was younger, and his instinct was to cover his ears. He also looks at both EJ and Gina in 3.06 during the canoe scene. I think it's at that moment that he realizes just how much EJ and Gina truly care about one another, and how much they're fighting for their relationship. Thinking back to S2, he was also fighting really hard for his rela with Nini. But he learned to let her go because that was for the best. He actually gets that advice from his mom, who he understandably holds a lot of resentment towards. I could be wrong, but I read his expression in the 2nd gif as someone who has seen his own parents fail to save their relationship, but sees two people, despite all their recent tensions, still fighting for their relationship.

Earlier that day, Ricky comes face to face with his dad's new girlfriend and is presented with a gift from Mike via Miss Jenn:

I definitely think Ricky still feels uncomfortable at the idea of his teacher and father dating, even if he's trying to act like he's okay with it. When he receives the gift, he's not exactly happy about it. It's sort of surprises him, but not in a good way. Perhaps it's a not so subtle reminder that things have really changed for him back home. Later that day, he sees EJ and Gina trying their best to save their relationship, then hears this from Jet that night:

Jet, being "little Ricky" and all (3.02), admits that he feels like it's his fault Madison and Maddox broke up. Does that not sound like how Ricky feels about himself in terms of his parents marriage? Perhaps he also blames himself for the downfall of his parents relationship. He couldn't save it or fix it. Instead of dealing with his own problems, Ricky is throwing himself into Jet and Maddox's issues to try to save their relationship. I think the majority of Ricky's issues in terms of romantic relationships always goes back to his parents, which they still haven't fully addressed. Three seasons in a row, and Ricky's main storyline revolves around his love life. If there's any chance for Ricky to truly move forward and find the path to true happiness, this season has to end with Ricky single and not ready to mingle and being okay with that. He hasn't taken any significant amount of time for himself to himself. I also think it's difficult for him to see EJ and Gina have the kind of summer he was expecting to have with Lily. While I don't think Lily broke his heart, I do believe she broke his trust. He even blames himself for why things fell apart because he said "How could I be so stupid?" in 3.01 during his breakup w/ Lily. He shows up to camp and the first image he sees are a genuinely happy and loving couple (Portwell). It seems like Ricky wants what they have because he was expecting to have a fun summer in a new relationship. Jet's line above definitely hit a nerve for Ricky because I think it reminds him of how things fell apart for his parents. In order to escape the pain he's feeling, Ricky tries to "fix" the relationship problems around him. One last thing, I don't think it's a coincidence that 3.06 is the first time this season that Ricky's acknowledged his past with Nini (also in conversation with Jet). In Ricky's eyes, he's had two failed relationships in a short amount of time, and to overcompensate for that, he tries to fix everyone else's relationship problems instead. I'm wondering what the last two episodes have in store for his character arc, because so much of it so far has been romance-based. For this character to actually progress in a positive way, he has to learn that it's okay to not be okay and that true happiness doesn't come from being in a relationship.

RINA TED TALK LOL!

Sofia literally confirmed everything we’ve been saying for the past year which is that Gina’s feelings for Ricky went away and like she put it; it almost feels like they will never go away!!! Now our speculations have been confirmed ie the fact that Ricky and Gina cannot actively opt for any alternative relationship when they’re getting along with each other. Gina had to leave in 107 for rini to get back together while the writing cut off any interaction between Rina from 207 to build up pw.

I also feel like Sofia was able to say what she said because Rina was in the trailer but she didn’t need to give all that detail yet she did. Josh on the other hand comfortably had an opinion on Rina ahead of s2 but notice how he couldn’t get any words out this time.

Like everything is all coming together and as for those who are complaining about the recycled love triangle arc; saying Gina just replaced nini, please point me to the teen dramas that don’t use storylines like this over and again.

Then I saw someone saying that it’s a tv show and it doesn’t matter what Gina wants but what the showrunner wants(funny enough this person ships pw) but guess which ship Tim has been writing for since 105, yeah the same one that had their flashback scene from 110 played in s2, same one that ‘supposedly got closure, didn’t talk all of 2b, was declared over by the antis and somehow managed to get people talking from a 2 seconds clip in the trailer.

I just don’t think any showrunner will spend this much time and put in these much details for a non endgame ship but maybe that’s just me but at least, we’re not delusional and RINA WAS NEVER OVER FOR GINA!!! and when s3 also shows us that Rina was never over for Ricky then what???

One time I came across Rini's love confession on youtube just to check comments because now it's Rina being endgame. So I read one comment saying, "If Ricky and Nini are not together in the end, what's the point of watching?" as everyone was talking about J*livia and saying that Rini need to be together and endgame because of them. I felt so creep'd out reading some of that like they are REAL LIFE people and you don't mess with their lives, demand them to satisfy your needs. It's creepy to read that. They are saying what's the point of Rini not together because they want J*livia to be together on screen and kept saying things like their chemistry is so off the chart, look at how Olivia's face when he said ILY with full of reasons of why he loves her like her reaction is so real, like Olivia is actually showing real reaction and it's so cute, look at him improvise his ILY almost like it was more of J*livia saying ILY, bet all the reasons was why he loves her, bla bla bla. It's kinda insane that all they can talk about rl rather than characters and their relationship because it all comes to them.

i've always noticed the same thing, even back when season 1 was airing and everyone was fairly unpopular and new to the scene, what got a lot of people talking was speculation that the lead actors were dating—and it went downhill from there. they're easily some of the worst things to come out of the show and the fandom in general, and it's gross to see them still exist and attempt to make everything about their failure of a ship, both on screen and in real life. that's one thing i can at least appreciate about rinas, none of them are actively shipping joshua and sofia. the chemistry on screen speaks for itself and the ship itself is strong enough to stand on its own without people fantasizing about how things are like off screen to distract from how bad things are on screen.

it really just shows how lackluster their ship has always been. i never saw the vision for r*ni because i knew exactly how it was going to end just based on watching the pilot alone. it reminded me of a boring disney ship that i was being spoon-fed to root for. there weren't any actual stakes and nothing exciting to watch about them. and their minimal chemistry didn't help either. so knowing the truth of why they truly have so many fans, the attachment people still have to this day of j*livia, despite basically telling on themselves that they must hate both joshua and olivia for wanting them together at this point of their lives, just makes things so much clearer when it comes to why that ship is even rooted for.

I'm pretty sure Matt said val and ej have a brother-sister relationship so people wouldn't mistake it as something more. This fandom tend to mistook lot of things so I've no doubt if he said they are childhood friends and stop there people gonna freak out about something more. Also he said it so casually. Like not afraid of any spoilers. So yeah I think they gonna have a sibling kinda relationship. It's not mean they have a relationship like EJ-ashlyn. it's only mean that they have no romantic feelings involve.

i agree he said it to make people think ej and val are totally 100% platonic. the only question is if that’s actually a “mistake” if the audience starts thinking that way.

i agree that yes there’s more room for speculation if he left it at childhood friends- rini is a thing after all, but i mean i think there’s room for speculation regardless. bc i’m really not sure if him being THIS specific is where they end up by the end of the season… even if it is where they start the season (as super close childhood friends with no romantic possibilities).

as for him saying it casually- these people are very media trained. and matt’s currently in press for what’s probably the most expensive dcom type movie to date… (though it’s on disney+), he knows how to deal with questions. also as before, he was convincing last season too.

obviously he and val will be different from him and ashlyn, on top of their not being related there’s a difference by virtue of their friendship only really spanning summers, but the playful banter of knowing someone your whole life will be fun to see.

I did see that and it freaked me out because I can't fully decipher it. A part of me wants to know, but I also would rather wait for whatever terrible news it is. I saw a PW on Twitter saying their mom got the final episodes and Rinas are gonna be upset. I don't believe that person but it also freaked me out for a sec.

I just don't think, with all this buildup, they'd throw Rina away like that. Fine, PW doesn't break up at the end of this season but what Ricky and Gina have is real. It is obvious Tim is supporting them, and he's the show runner.

If PW stays together (which I don't think they will), it would be under strained circumstances because EJ has really messed up time and time again. Like Rini, they'd be broken up by S4B.

There's so much speculation I wouldn't spend a lot of time worrying about it. The people spoiling the show might be telling the truth (whatever truth that is) or could be lying or exaggerating.

I digressed but literally if EJ becomes a teacher's assistant it would be the weirdest thing because he is 1) not qualified at all and 2) dating his student. The fact that PWs do not see how wrong that is ridiculous. Like what a joke😭

(Now, I love my Finn Hudson so let's leave him out of it because someone on twitter compared him to EJ being a loser and no, no, nope it's not the same thing. Finn was actually lost in his direction and taught the glee club because it was something he was passionate about, not to follow his high school gf around like EJ wants to do. Finn was actually a leader for the club to look up to. /end rant).

Okay, so, initial thoughts.

I loved all the camp scenes and I kinda got bored when it cut to Nini and Ricky ehehe. i really liked showing the different dynamics of the girls together and the guys and exploring those friendships more and, obviously, Portwell were adorable! I love them and will defend them constantly However, I……am not a fan of a potential EJxGinaxRicky love triangle thing being POTENTIALLY set up (????) and I'm also not a fan of this love triangle POTENTIALLY resolving itself by POTENTIALLY having nini come to camp and rini gets back together. yes this is all my speculations for the rest of the season ehehuhuhuesohohoohhafhdlakjdsfhasdf Both Ricky and Nini need time away from each other to gain their own independence and to understand why their relationship ended in the first place (i cannot remember if in s2 they actually covered that or not. i do remember their breakup scene was good? in the sense that it followed exactly what the show was setting up in s2 for rini)

But who knows. Maybe Rini will reunite and actually be a better fit after some time apart to grow as people? I'll just have to see how that goes.

And while I used to ship rina and due to that, I will probably have a slight soft spot for them in the sense of just liking their scenes together………….i am very concerned for portwell's happiness. This is supposed to be Gina's season and EJ plays a big role for that and he's also getting even more screentime I--------

i just want portwell to be happy okay???

"it's very obvious that they were not planned." and he's already spoken about how not only were they supposed to originally kiss in 1x05, but that if it weren't for the chemistry between their actors, the show would have went a lot differently. endgame or not, acting like they weren't ever going to be at least explored on kind of makes you look a bit delusional. any tv watcher would be able to tell you that the one couple with unfinished business will always end up getting a chance in the spotlight. it's one of the biggest tropes that constantly gets used. and if they weren't endgame, you know damn well rini was not going to be based on how they were written in season 2 episode 1 alone. the cracks were always there. you were just too biased to see them.

"they basically stopped talking after 2x6 and she went all in for ej and he went all in for nini." and what actually ended up happening was that they had to physically remove ricky from gina's storyline in order to make a relationship with any other male character work, and when ej stopped stepping up, you were somehow surprised that a relationship that had rebound all over it failed even after gina kept emphasizing how she doesn't get things right the first time. and if ricky deleting nini's comments and lashing out on her meant "going all in", i fear for what you consider to be healthy depictions of relationships.

"they only made the switch because olivia left after s2, and they didn't know that she was going to bc drivers license blew up right before they wrapped." yet before they wrapped, three episodes in (all filmed and written before drivers license) rini's miscommunication problems were only getting worse by the episode. even if you were rooting for them in season 1, there's no way you saw a positive ending coming for them in season 2. i accept some forms of delusion because it tends to work out sometimes, but what exactly were you holding onto by that point? and how much of it was actually you just liking nini as a character more than anyone else. you can't convince me you like ricky. so what exactly was the motivation?

anyways, no excuse or speculation will make rina not endgame. complain about the technicalities all you want. it's not amounting to anything. and maybe re-read some of those post season 1 interviews. they're more telling than you might think.

this is so awkward because you act like i'm mad because i'm a rini shipper when if you look at what i said i was actually rooting for rina (literally go into my rina tag and you'll see lol) but my actual issue was how poorly handled rina was after season 2 and how forced it felt. there was a way to make them work because it is a fact that they only happened because of olivia leaving (which is fine, every tv show needs to adapt to actors leaving) but they shoved all these phony backstories and ruined the build up for portwell (who i didnt care for) and then shoved all the other character's development aside just so they can put ricky and gina's love story at the forefront. they ruined ej's development and even made ricky become a total asshole just so they can make rina make sense and yet the only people who cared for them were the twitter fandom, because that's who tim based all of his decisions on.

and we know rina were gonna be explored because they literally were where did i deny that??? they were explored for the first season and a half but then they ended them and made both of them move on. and ricky and nini ending on bad terms at the end of season 2 doesn't mean they weren't going to be explored as most endgame couples tend to only really have their time in the sun during the last season anyway. but the difference is that rini were still in a story together, whereas rina barely spoke for four episodes so i'm really not sure what you thought you were cooking but we need to get you out the kitchen cos BOOOOOO

Have you seen Jet’s leak audition video? I am not sure where the video was originally posted but salazarbowen posted the video on Twitter of someone audition for a character name Jet in HSMTMTS. I am just curious who do you think Jet is talking when the actor is reading lines from a scene when the actor is auditioning for the role of Jet? I think Jet is talking to Ricky in the leak audition video.

I have! For anyone who hasn't, you can watch it here.

He's talking to Maddox in the end, and he seems to be talking to Ashlyn between 1:01 - 2:14 (because of the tarot reading comment). As for who he's talking to at 0:14, I'm not sure. He calls the other person "bro", so that narrows it down to Ricky, EJ, Big Red, Carlos and Seb. The lines don't really sound like Seb to me, but I don't feel like we have enough information to narrow it down further than that.

I don't think that Ricky's in a place yet where he'd encourage other people to join their musicals, but who knows, he may surprise me. He just didn't fully feel comfortable identifying as a theater kid yet at the end of season 2, so it's hard for me to imagine he'll get there in early season 3. If they want to transition EJ to a director/producer role on the musical next season, then him being the one to encourage Jet to join the musical would make sense. But who knows. Maybe "famous last words" is Big Red talking about his journey to joining the Wildcats.

Side note: these scenes may not even make it into the actual eps. Not all sides from auditions do.

One thing that did stand out to me about the audition is that Jet and Maddox seem to resemble season 1 Ricky and Nini. Jet, just like Ricky, sounds like a bit more of an outcast who doesn't follow the rules (Ricky did so to a lesser degree), he doesn't want to join the musical and be like the theater kids, and he thinks that he's holding Maddox back. One line stood out to me:

Jet: "Sometimes I think the best way for me to be there for Maddy is to not be anywhere near her. [...] I guess you could say I'm a liability."

Compare that with:

Ricky in 1x09: "I'm screwing up out there. I can't blow this for Nini. There's someone in the audience who could change Nini's life. She needs her best shot to impress them."

Ricky in 1x10: "It's about doing something for someone you care about."

Ricky in 2x09: "I love you so much that I've gotta let you go."

Sounds pretty similar to me. And according to the sides in this audition, Maddox reinvents herself at camp and becomes a different, more confident person there than she is at home. That sounds exactly like what Nini did at camp pre-1x01. So I'm wondering if Jet and Maddox are supposed to hold up a mirror to Ricky and Nini, and either parallel or contrast them so Ricky and Nini will reflect on their own growth and continue to move forward. Given that we've had foil pairings for Rini every season so far, I wouldn't be surprised if Jet/Maddox is supposed to be their foil in season 3.

Biggest difference between the Rini breakup scene in 2.08 versus Portwell breakup scene in 3.07 is the symbolism of the door:

Ricky literally closes the door on his relationship with Nini (and it's a mutual decision). As Gina walks away, the stage door is wide open still. PW breakup was not a mutual decision, just an understanding. For "love to be an open door" for PW (which it literally is) EJ has to be more open and vulnerable to Gina (which EJs facial expression suggests he's aware of). Visual foreshadowing that they have unfinished business. 🤔🤷🏽‍♀️

yes yes yes! i second everything you said about natalie/stage managers. put some respect on her name!! and she's super funny, i just hope she doesn't graduate at the end of the s2 school year because i'd love to see assistant director!nini and natalie doing more behind the scenes theatre work :') -ay

in season 1 natalie is said to be a sophomore, like ash and carlos. so i don't think she's going anywhere soon.

while i doubt it will turn into anything, there have been a couple of lines that show miss jenn not really caring about the crew this season "they're called grips" so maybe mr mazzara could offer to join (officially), to help her with the stress of productions and also improve their tech department.

(natalie hunny i love you but any good stage manager would have put a crash mat down before testing that harness, where's your health and safety training)

the promo photo shows her at the cast party and so i really help we get to see more from the crew.

lbr here you have 4/5 cast members also in crew from them alone you could have an episode dedicated to the crew, just one episode, it can be as filler as you like but please, there is so much off screen work that we deserve to see

HSMTMTS 2x04 Review

The Storm was a fun bottle ep that finally brought an end to the YAC plot. Let’s dig in!

In good news, Joshua and Olivia still have good chemistry even after their bitter breakup and hopefully that continues through S4. Great Rini scenes tonight. I liked how dramatic the Granted scene was and the bus station was lovely. Interesting that both Big Red and Gina told Ricky to never tell Nini that he was happy for her but wanted her to be with him forever and yet he trusted his gut and told Nini which made her happy. Ricky may doubt himself at times but he and Nini understand each other better than anyone else

Thankfully the YAC plot is now done. It was a mistake to ever send Nini to Denver but it would have been a bigger mistake to keep her there long term. It’s better when writers avoid these kind of obvious mistakes but if they have to make these mistakes I’d prefer that they’re corrected ASAP

Miss Jenn was at her best today, loved learning about her helping young Elsa

Poor Gina, she’s not been having a good time this season. It’s hard to tell if Ricky is just being sorta callous in a typical teen boy way or if he sincerely thinks Gina is enjoying him ribbing her for thinking he sent those chocolates but either way it’s not a good look. In fairness, Ricky did try and stop Big Red from bringing up what he wanted to say to Nini in front of Gina so he was at least self-aware enough to realize that she wouldn’t want to hear that

The writers really need to stop making Gina pine so much for a guy who’s clearly not in to her like that and has a girlfriend. It’s starting to come off as a bit pathetic and at this point their toeing the line of making her the ‘other woman’ in the Rini relationship. I half wonder if they scrapped an original plan to do something with Portwell in S2 and that explains the weird imbalance going on right now in Gina’s story line. Matt seemingly confirmed that Portwell remains platonic this season so guess there setting up for some Gina and Jack action later in the season? Again an odd choice since he’s likely only in one ep but we’ll see what happens

Poor EJ, though I do find it hard to believe that with his grades and extra curriculars that he wouldn’t get in to any school except a state school. The American obsession with big name universities always seems so odd as a Canadian, a degree is a degree. We got some clear set up for EJ doing morning announcements which should be fun

Mr. Mazzara was good this ep, you can tell he likes EJ a lot better than Ricky. Loved the horror music cue when he first shows up in the drama room and his the less I know the better line to Kourtney and Seb

Carlos was being a real dick to Gina, why did he bother offering it to her if he just wanted an assistant? I know they reconcile next ep but I hope Carlos actually apologizes to Gina

The Redlyn being horny gag was funny

Looking Ahead:

Carlos 16th bday turned into a late Quinceañero in the Matthew-Smith barn should be fun. Big Shot broke the first same sex kiss in Disney history barrier on Friday so hopefully Seblos will be able to kiss in 2x05

Is Ricky gonna suggest Gina give up her role for Nini? I’m sure that convo will go well

We’ll see how Miss Jenn gets Nini involved, I’ve seen speculation that Nini may play the rose which would be interesting

camp rock songs i think could be neat to see in season 3 in hsmtmts

as a note, i don’t think we’ll get 99% of this. i think camp rock is going to lend maybe like- 1 or 2 songs. a medley like in 2.01 if we’re lucky. but yeah these are entirely just songs i like from the movies and think could fit the vibes of the show. also particularly given a lot of these are... from the second movie, it makes odds lower probably. but i just really like ballads, sue me.

this is our song.

my number one request truly. and ngl it’s my only actual request i care about for season 3. let ricky get out his guitar at the end of the season and have them all sing around the campfire. it’s summer camp, if there’s not some form of campfire singing i will riot. i’m begging- give us this number. i’ll take it for the credits even just give it to me.

this is me / gotta find you & gotta find you.

i’ll put these together bc i really do just enjoy gotta find you... and it’s a ballad type song that fits the tone of hsmtmts but also this is me / gotta find you is this absolutely iconic number. and i’d love to see something done with it.

too cool or 2 stars.

these are just- ridiculously fun numbers. if they’re giving lily screentime / a plotline they could give her one of these at the outset of / before her redemption arc. i love too cool, i did it on my karaoke machine twelve thousand times when i was little, but- 2 stars could be cool too, maybe especially so if they lean into family? but it can be used outside this context too. only problem with too cool is that contextually lily- isn’t popular. even at north. she fully admits to ricky that people just don’t like her. which... fair- but still. i guess at the end of the season she says she turned things around but- yeah idk

our time is here.

this is the only other song from the first movie that i think i could potentially want to see. and i don’t even necessarily want this one that much. i just- a lot of the music in these movies doesn’t fit the tone of the series, so i’m trying to kinda pick out the ones that do? bc obviously the musical theater / pop esque vibes of hsmtmts are NOT the same as the “rock” adjacent camp rock sound. that said... i like the whole ‘claiming our power’ aspect of this song, like “don’t be afraid we’ll do it together” and the title “our time is here”, is very wholesome and fits the series for sure. that said- it says “gone are the days of summer” and similar things... so it feels like an end of season thing. and i’d MUCH rather see this is our song for the end.

different summers.

is a couple facing tension? are they wanting / experiencing different things, feeling unsure about one another in this place they stand, even if not their own heart? welcome to this brilliant chance to express that sentiment. or even a more personal discovery type conflict depending. but yeah. i can think of a lot of potential applications for this one. gina obviously would make a lot of sense for the first suggestion. they could use it for ashlyn if she and big red have problems / if that jett and ashlyn flirting very small implication in that audition is real...

or i mean it could be used in terms of if there’s a potential self discovery in terms of queer identity going on for anyone... looking at someone (read love interest) in a different light / themselves in a different light. “tossing your heart to see where it lands” is... a strong sentiment to be sure. taking risks and such.

it’s not too late.

this song would be a great choice for lily. like i’ve seen people want her to sing monster, which i quite like, and if she doesn’t, this could be a good song to accomplish something similar with her potential redemption arc. or anyone else who they need to do a ‘i’ve messed up but i can fix it i have to’ thing for, but- lbr that’s probably lily. i actually quite enjoy this song so i thought i’d put it’s hat in the ring. idk... i just- would like to hear olivia rose keegan get to sing again- particularly if the song doesn’t get relegated to the soundtrack this time. i HIGHLY recommend giving this one a listen or even just giving the lyrics a read.

can’t back down.

i don’t love this one necessarily in it’s own right, but it’s an iconic number, and it gives off the same like- homemade sound effects thing as work this out from hsm2 which adds to the vibes. it could be a lot of fun to watch as a full blown big group number. like i think i saw someone talking about val leading them in something like this before a long time ago, but regardless, i’d be very on board for that. like hey maybe the camp’s as risk of shutting down so they have to make this a huge success and the kids are discouraged and val’s like “not on my watch, let’s do this”. could be accomplished with similar vibes using work this out as well, though work this out has lyrics that are probably less fitting to the setting / circumstances. they could also do it’s on for their big build back power moment, but i think can’t back down is better for hsmtmts.

wouldn’t change a thing.

a lot of ships are interested in getting this song and i can’t blame them. it’s a super intense, beautiful ballad duet moment and it’s got all this fun imagery and i just- it’s great. truly a fan of this song. i will not attempt any kind of predicting or anything on this song just bc- the only real requirements are a) a ship (or tbh just a very strong duo). and b) a conflict that is resolvable because love.

it’s probably going to be a bigger couple, if this is presented in terms of narrative. we don’t have a ton of duets as of now, and the ones we do have are either a) performances / rehearsing, or b) a rini duet. there is ONE exception to this- and that’s red means love, a song played over the credits that’s seen as a semi-canonical event. i fit around you into the first category bc- it is a somewhat performance situation given it’s their talent show routine. {lowkey the fact that the only “couples” to have sung duets on this show in general are rini, miss jenn/zack, and redlyn is kinda crazy. i’d reckon portwell may join the list this season, regardless of their status at the end of the season.}

introducing me.

i had to put it down. i just had to. this one’s iconic in its own right, and i think its dumb cutesy vibes are perfect for this series. it’s a guitar song too, fairly simple energy musically, which again- fits this show. i know people would like ricky to sing this- i think they’d probably be less inclined if they came to the very real conclusion that the only person it makes sense for ricky to sing it to is lily. i wouldn’t mind getting to hear ricky sing it anyway though. that said- i could very much potentially see someone like jet singing this song. he doesn’t know the wildcats, and could very easily do something like this with someone and have it make sense in context. they could surprise me- but that’s my take.
