did I ever mention that at one point I was going to make a fangan populated entirely by humanized rollercoasters. did I ever talk about that. I don’t think I did. give me a minute

This was the protagonist, Suzuho. based on Steel Dragon 2000. I made her an adventurer, because, steel dragon is the longest coaster and thus “covers the most ground”. (also made a mistake on the second image. it’s supposed to say “strong sense of JUSTICE” but I must’ve accidentally deleted the last part)

The Smiler-based guy named Wilbur. decided to go against the typical Smiler OC “chaos demon” protocol and make a polite introvert. the smiler is a very self-contained rollercoaster with a small footprint, plus hypnotists should have calming voices and presences to properly entrance people, so I figured making him more restrained and introverted would be a interesting yet explainable subversion

and this was a beta design for a girl based on Formula Rossa named Laura. Ultimate Race Car Driver obviously

I had an Ultimate ??? based on Kingda Ka in the works, never drew him. I had other characters planned as well, but I won’t talk about them unless people are for some reason interested in the rest of them.

Introducing SILAS

Vampire turned eldritch horror. He lived and died in the 1600s under a name since lost, and has been wandering ever since. Some time towards the end of the 19th century, he began to fall into an obsession with a strange place known as The Void, and eventually built a portal tearing through reality to get there. The portal was unstable though, and before closing it tore away half of his mind, effectively splitting him into two separate consciousnesses. Within the Void, the one half was driven entirely to madness through the isolation, and in his warped perception from both being trapped and being only half of a whole, came to think of himself as The Lord of Darkness. His other half went into hiding, terrified of the day the Lord of Darkness would return.

The Void was left for almost a century, but in the 90s Oblivion was built, a stable portal to the Void. From there the Void was researched, and the corrosive black goo-like substance of the same name was used in experimentation. Many died from this, but the survivor acted as a link between the Lord of Darkness and the world outside, who he eventually used to escape and alter Oblivion to use in the pursuit of bringing Eternal Darkness.

With the help of others, the 'Lord of Light' as some called the half of him who remained, was able to contain the Lord of Darkness and prevent Oblivion from bringing about destruction. From there, the two were able to become one again after 100 long years. The man who returned was not the same as the one who was torn apart by the Void a century prior though, and he took on the new name of Silas to reflect that. He still holds both the Lord of Darkness and Lord of Light within himself, but he is someone new entirely. Silas retains his control of the Void, and has returned to a life of wandering, forever in the shadows. He is a gentle man, and has vowed to never allow himself to fall back into chaos in the hopes to never harm anyone again. Even now though, being whole again, madness isn't so easy to escape...

It’s March 14th so you know what that means!! Happy birthday to the one and only Oblivion!!  🧡

25 years ago today, the world’s first vertical drop coaster opened at Alton Towers resort, and the rest is history! Oblivion is such a special coaster to me, not only because it’s so unique and fun to ride but also it has so many good memories attached! On my first ever Towers trip, Oblivion was the one ride that I managed to go on twice, because the first time was so much fun I just had to do it again! I love the adrenaline rush you get when the ride drops, and even waiting in the queue is enjoyable with the videos and awesome music!vI got to talk to the Oblivion Army during Festival Of Thrills and they were so kind and funny, I showed them the drawings of my OCs and they liked them, which really gave me a lot of confidence in my art! I remember they said I was one of them and I still think about that a lot to this day cause that made me happy, I’m one of them and always will be! At the end of the day I had my second ride on Oblivion, and I talked to the people next to me in the queue, and we all had the Lord of Darkness’ speech memorised so we kept saying it along with the video every time it came on  😂 Ever since that day, and even before then, I’ve felt really connected to Oblivion and it’s definitely my favourite coaster in the park, so of course when I went to Towers the second time, I went straight to Oblivion first and that’s probably what will happen again in the future! I know I joke about X-Sector being my second home but I really have made some of the best memories of my life there and I can hardly wait to go back one day!

Of course my Oblivion OC shares her birthday with the coaster itself, and honestly I could talk for hours about how much I love her as a character. When I was first developing my Alton OCs, I don’t know how or why but Oblivion quickly became my favourite and ended up becoming the “main character” of my universe despite me not intending to have a main character in the first place. Drawing her always makes me happy and honestly there are times where she doesn’t just feel like a character I created, but like a friend who lives in my brain and is always there to talk to when I need to! She’s got me through some difficult times and one day I hope to be as strong and fearless as she is. I take my plushie of her everywhere I go and when I’m feeling anxious or overwhelmed I just hold on to her and I feel like everything’s gonna be okay! 

So thank you Oblivion, both the ride and the OC, for bringing me so much comfort and of course, being really flippin awesome!! Here’s to many more years of not looking down!  🧡 ⬇️

LC12 is a swarm drone, a human now converted into ground troops- albeit a more humanoid version to get opponents off guard and understand how to better convert.

It's a vicious thing- kept contained like the rest of its kind. However unlike the rest of the Swarm, this unit is defective in that its mind could become unique... who's to say?
