Cats 1998 Anniversary Event - Favorite Song: Macavity
The 98 Macavity song has always been a particular favorite of mine. One of my earliest memories is dancing and singing along to it as a kid. Rosemarie Ford and Aeva May's singing and dancing is simply iconic.

First day of Cats 1998 Anniversary Celebration! I'm so happy! Today prompt: favourite actor.
And after first excitment I'm sad now. I don't have a fav! I don't know them personally, so I can't say "That one I like, that one don't". I love all of those wonderfull people, because they changed my life. Because of their hard, unusual work they together created somethin amazing, something... well, lifechanging. So, I want to say "Thank you! You are the best! I love you!" to all of them!

I dont think we as a collective appreciate how absolutely AMAZING Rosemarie Ford is as Grizabella?????? Like her voice is so full of sorrow and sweet?????? She feels less proud and more remorseful like oh my god she is so amazing?????? And her voice is a bit deeper and GHHGGUUUJHGGGGGHH

“Macavity's a ginger cat, he's very tall and thin
You would know him if you saw him for his eyes are sunken in
His brow is deeply lined with thought, his head is highly domed~
His coat is dusty from neglect, his whiskers are uncombed
He sways his head from side to side, with movements like a snake
And when you think he's half asleep, he's always wide awake!”

Year-End Poll #2: 1951
Tumblr media
On the surface, Billboard Magazine's top 10 songs from this year may look like a continuation of the trends from prior years -- Folk standards, traditional pop, and other genres marking the pre-rock & roll era in 50s music. It will be years before rock & roll cracks the top 30, but that doesn't mean record labels haven't noticed the shifting tides. The 1950s also marks the birth of the "teenager" as a unique age demographic in marketing, and with that comes changing tastes and expectations as young people want to distance themselves from the music favored by their parents. Songs like Nat King Cole's Too Young and The Dominoes Sixty Minute Man (not featured in this poll) were written as attempts to cater to this new, younger audience.
