Answering your questions!

Hello everyone! First and foremost, I’d like to thank everyone who’s filled out our interest check so far. We’ve received a lot of really positive responses, and some very encouraging comments! Along with those, we’ve also received a number of questions, and I’d like to take this time to answer a few of those.

I’m also going to be working on putting together an FAQ page for the blog today, so feel free to direct any other questions to our ask box to ensure your question gets answered!

Nope! As stated in the interest check post, this zine is going to feature the platonic, familial relationship between the boys. The currently planned theme for the zine is parallels between the twins throughout their lives, showcasing how similar their paths are, even when they’re apart for years. 

I’ll take this opportunity to expand on that! Contributors will be assigned a time period in the twins’ lives (childhood, adolescence, mint eye era, post-mint eye, post-reconciliation, and possibly post-Another Story routes) and will be creating a piece that reflects the relationship between the twins at that point in time. For periods of time where the twins were separated (adolescence, mint eye era), artists may be assigned one twin and partnered with another artist who is assigned to the other, so that the two of them can create a two-page spread of coordinating pieces that reflect the parallels between the twins’ lives while they’re apart.

No choi s*ndwich here either! As outlined above, the zine will follow the relationship between the brothers only. Mint Eye Era, Post-Mint Eye, and Post-Reconciliation pieces may feature Saeyoung x MC, and Post-Ray Route pieces may feature Saeran x MC, but the relationship between the brothers should be the prominent feature of the pieces.

That being said - if you are interested in some sandwich content, it has its own zine! The digital @choisandwichzine is currently in the works, and contributors should be announced soon!

We’re glad to hear that! As with MC, any other characters may be included in pieces, depending on the context, so long as they are not the prominent feature of the piece. For example, a piece set during the Mint Eye Era might show Seven being given orders by Vanderwood, while Unknown is being given orders by the Savior. Keep in mind, all contributor ideas will need to be approved by the mod team to ensure they match the theme of the zine!

[TEXT: what if we never made merch art before but would like to be a merch artist?]

Experience making merch won’t be a requirement for merch artists! I do plan to bring on a merch mod, who will be required to have experience designing and producing merch, that way artists who wish to create merch will have a reliable adviser who can guide them through the process. ^^

On that note - who’s moderating this thing?

We’ve also received a number of questions and comments about the moderators, so I’ll take this opportunity to address that as well! Currently the project is being run by myself, @magefeathered, and @sevenzerosevenextreme

We are both currently moderating the @routelesstraveled Bad End Zine, with Seven as the main project organizer and me as her assistant organizer. I’m also a mod of the choi s*ndwich zine mentioned above, which is a more casual zine where all of the mods are handling a little bit of everything!

Our experience and our research has taught us a lot, and as our current projects are still in production, we are learning more every day. Our knowledge is not exhaustive, however, and we are aware of this. We are currently planning on opening applications for more moderators toward the end of May or beginning of June, after the interest check has had ample time to circulate. We plan on bringing on a financial manager, merch manager, and at least two graphic designers. Stay tuned for more details on that as time progresses ^^
