Why do you think people, especially men who are usually calm and cool or responsible, are drawn to mitch? I think it's in the same realm of why broken people keep attracting ppl to them.

honestly i think it's less that they're drawn to mitch and more that mitch is drawn to them? mitch marner is an active participant in his own destiny believe it or not (often for the worse but it eez what it eez) and the mans SEEKS OUT this kind of stable figure because he a) is full of Love and b) is full of Issues. like i think it manifests most obviously in father figures like the notoriously stoic jt because we know for a fact that he has problems with his dad, but i think people like auston definitely fit his bill too.

ultimately mitch is... to put it bluntly, a very anxious and almost unstable person? like saying the wrong thing or doing the wrong thing can kind of send him off in a whole ass Direction, especially when partnered with someone volatile that takes that and makes it worse. and he'd rather spend time with someone who doesn't have that kind of reaction.

like i think this is why he and auston get along so well... bc auston is externally Very no-bullshit and mitch likes that and reacts well to it,,, and auston loves him that's his guy that's his apple crumble!!! mitch wants people to like him so BADLY and i think these calm confident types make for such a good pairing with him because they're more likely to be straightforward about showing it or not.

roller skating was SO fun tonight but I can't go to the night sessions the next two weeks because I have to work a play which im so sad about it. BUT! the week after that I'm finally not going alone to the rink because my friend is coming into town and they are willing (and excited) to go with me
