S11 Round 1

The Moon and Stars

Star and Moon are childhood friends, always by eachothers side. Star is a quiet child, reserved and bookish, while Moon is loud and rough, often picking fights with the other kids. The two are inseparable, balancing eachothers worse tendencies while encouraging their best. During this time, Moon feels herself developing a crush on Star, but keeps it secret. However, as time goes on, circumstance pulls them apart, as Star's parents are killed in an accident and she is forced to leave her home. Now alone, Moon's more reckless tendencies are all she has left.

Life carries on for both of them. Star attunes herself to her magic potential, goes to college, and loses herself in her studies. Moon drops out of school, taking odd jobs and joining in criminal groups to get by. After many years, and by complete coincidence, Moon sees Star on TV one night, and all of those feelings from her childhood come rushing back. Moon drops everything and travels to where Star is, hoping to see her friend again.

When the two finally do reunite, Star is exhausted, both mentally and physically. While the sight of Moon brings her some comfort, the weight of the pressure she set upon herself is threatening to crush her completely. Moon gives her a chance to show her strength, offering to fight her. Moon wins the fight easily, with Star barely able to land a blow. Moon, deep in regret, tries to comfort her, only to find Star clutching a locket Moon had given her in their childhood. Moon, surprised she still had it, shows Star her own, which she had also kept all those years. Finally, the two decide to leave together, allowing themselves to rekindle the love and care they had for each other all those years ago.

A partner of mine

Character A wanders into a cafe by pure accident where she meets a person. singing on a stage of the cafe and they do meet each other eye to eye. This character who steps down from the stage and talks to Character A saying her name being Character B. She asks for Character A to be her singing partner to surpass a great happening with hesitation Character A does agree even if she has little to no experience.

Lots of things happen from here and especially internal conflict. But they always try to be there for each other helping and picking each other up. Character B brings Character A higher and higher heights, Character A being guided by Character B and they always go together. With Character A she gets scared on how much she must be pushing and stopping always needing help however with the help of Character B and support from her Character A is able to finally go along side Character B. However..

Feeling inferiority towards Character A, as Character A improves Character B gets more and more scared more and more.. Conflicted, up until something snaps, a tragedy was told to Character B without warning and immediately sweaped under the rug, with Character A's assistance Character B does and is able to slowly heal from the news of the tragedy. But the feeling of inferiority never went away, Character B decided that she should need to battle Character A to get her feelings out of the way for her and A to finally get together with no fears and no worries.

well she gatekeeps the guy in her basement (doesnt let him out) and probably gaslights him too. the game starts out by encouraging you to have her get a promotion and making it very easy for her to do so (girlbossing). also shes hot and bisexual which should count for smth

Vex

When one of the main characters, Zane, is trapped in the Never Realm, he has his memories erased because Vex unplugged him during an important reboot (he's a robot btw) Seeing the opportunity, Vex gaslight and girlbossed Zane into thinking he was the ruler of the realm, (Zane is definitely not) and that Vex was trying to restore his spot on the throne. Long story short he tricks Zane into committing genocide for 40-50 years by freezing people to death (quite literally slay) because Vex told him to, and warped his perception of the world. He gatekeeps Zane from his friends when they come back to save him and further gaslights him like "bestie idk what these guys are talking about, ur the Ice Emperor, not ''Zane', kill them darling" it's a joke in the fandom that his villain arc was being gaslit too hard. This show gets really dark at times but we like to joke about how bad the Ice Chapter is. In conclusion Vex girlbosses himself into becoming the right hand ruler of the world and killed all his family with his new bestie.

They are my first oc and one I am really proud of. Vex is one of the last of humanity after a mysterious disaster turned everyone into large dark humanoid creatures with bright white eyes and large smile. Vex was nearly turned into one but the suit he wears prevents their transformation from completing. I use them as an outlet to explore my feelings of isolation and how much of society feels threatening to me. Their suit is based off of the Prowler and the Tinkerer from Spiderman. (This started out as a spider-sona.)

It's suit is black with V-shaped indentations going all the way down. These indentations are neon purple, which is meant to be the energy preventing him from transforming leaking out into light. This suit also includes gauntlets that allow him to claw through metal and boots that can release some energy in a burst to allow him to jump further, jump in the air, or kick harder. On top of this suit, it also wears a black hoodie even though the hoodie doesn't actually warm them up. It just looks nice. (can you feel the spider-sona roots yet) Sorry for the bad art

so they’re from a lego ninjago fanfiction. they were born like couple hundred years before even wu and garmadon. they were abandoned as a wee babe as the only condition for their parents to not get divorced, because their mom cheated on her husband. they grew up on the streets morro style, and they knew mystaké, she would give them food sometimes.

they were kidnapped by their bio dad and killed, but someone in cloud kingdom did a silly goofy and revived them with no memories. they were found by jay and nya when they were getting nya’s stuff from the blacksmith shop and were taken back to the monastery to see if wu had any tea to jog their memories. nothing worked, and they ended up staying at the monastery. they have this whole internal conflict about not being able to remember, and there’s a lot of anxiety about it, so they start to sort of chronical the ninjas’ adventures. they give themself the last name “booker” from this.

they became really close with nya because the two of them were alone at the monastery together a lot. they found out that nya was samurai x almost immediately, and joined her as the sundalo (they used the training course to help regain help and whatnot, so they’re decently athletic). they had a bet going on who the green ninja would be, and they won because lloyd’s the literal grandson of god and they’re not an idiot.

they love to cook, and have a lowkey rivalry with zane. they’re always trying to one up each other. when nya becomes a ninja, they annoy wu into letting them be the yellow ninja: “the element of ✨surprise✨”.

they get their memories back in s6 cause of their wishes, plus they wish to never be able to forget and for nothing to undo their past wishes, so they remember everything. they make sure morro gets revived in DotD (he goes off on his own for a bit and comes back during s9).

they don’t get a chance to talk to mystaké in s8 when they see her for the first time since being revived, and she’s dead by the time they get back from the realm of oni and dragons (we love those mommy issues 😔). after zane gets zapped to the neverealm in s11, they go stay with skylor and meet their bestie beep (it’s important to the story, but sadly is a different character. no ranting about beep). they find out that the ninja are trapped in the neverealm when the preeminent attacks again, and they get pissed. one of their responses to grief is that they get really violent.

they end up accidentally hurting beep and nya confronts them on a rooftop (it’s always on a rooftop). they go to therapy. shocking, i know. they also force lloyd to go to therapy and eventually get him an emotional support dog after learning about the whole thing with akita. they’re very silly goofy and much blorbo :D

The below might seem like I'm gassing you up or being overly sugary and sweet; but I cannot underestimate how much I mean every single word. Your fics were in my first round of xfiles fics ever; and they were cemented into my cracks before I ever got adventurous enough to feed the addiction and read 800+ authors.

This'll be long, so I included a cut.

I begin, again, after 20 minutes of thorough combing

I spent 15-20 minutes grabbing link after link after link because... quite simply, your fics are grafted into my brain because of how many rereads I've done-- I can't separate them from each other, I can't pick favorites, I can't. I had to go by my tip top, cannot-pass-by-without-reading fics:

Whispered Words (Tumblr): Everything about this is perfection. Every time I read someone else's cancer fic, I immediately think of this one (and hunt it down for a reread.) Scully's symptoms, how and when Mulder notices; the blend of sickfic and angst and fluff together, no parts outrivaling the other... it's, again, perfection.

A New Day Has Come: It's such a cornerstone of my earliest cancer fics that this is how I always expect Mulder to react in other fics I read-- it's automatic programming at this point.

Every. Single. IVF fic you've written. I kid you not. To name a few (because it's not fun to just read "I liked it, lol" without some examples):  Name Calling/Archive is the pinnacle post IVF failure: the best, ohmyword. Unnamed post IVF treatment fic and Five Minutes - Chapter 1 are seared into my brain as a part one and two; but if it's a sheer numbers game? Five Minutes - Chapter 2 wins out. It's just... how do you hold a moonbeam in your hand, y'know? How can I describe something that IS me? I refer you to Scully's Memento Mori speech-- she says it more eloquently than I do. ;))))

Every. Single. AU Requiem fic and S8 fic and S9 fic and S11 fam fic. You do loving relationships so well: they talk, they breathe, they exist like real people. I treasure the S8 fics you wrote from my prompts and reread them frequently--though I forgot to label the second and need to find that link hmmmmmm. A realization

...I'm staring at 20+ pages of your fic links (and 84 specifically marked ones that have LOVE THIS in bold and caps) and thinking that there is no way I can fit all of this into this ask. XDDDD

I'll close this by thinking of random moments in your fics that twirl around and around in my brain and put them down here:

Mulder waking Scully up by sneezing in her hair in Rain King.

Mulder and Scully crying after her recovery in Redux II.

Scully's annoyance and Mulder's complete stillness in the airport while waiting for their luggage in Five Minutes Chapter 2.

The hilarious way you wrote Mulder and Scully and Krycek and Doggett and Reyes in an Essence AU (Will is born in the car while they drive away from the FBI.)

Scully's head being squeezed like an orange in the baseball bat attack fic, and Mulder's irate panic from afar ("HE HIT HER")

Mulder's tie got stuck in a copier and Scully has to help him out (and Skinner doesn't even want to know.)

Maggie's not a fool when she catches Mulder and Scully a day or two after Chimera.

Scully gasses in the car and Mulder evens the playing field.

Mulder having amnesia after Millennium and only remembering his partnership with Diana (for a couple hours.)

Mulder delicately taking and holding and smiling over his scratchy list of baby names.

Scully feeling woozy in Three Words and Mulder helping her sit down.

Mulder panicking after Lamaze in Alone.

S8 Scully including Mulder in her late night snack and waltz session, as they discuss her neighbor's recently deceased husband.

Mulder swallowing the suddenly-too-sweet cake at Scully's baby shower (AU Essence~)

Mulder swapping places with Reyes in Essence-- it's he and Scully on the road, just like always.

Post Existence Mulder papa bear with little Will.

Revival baby girl being born on Mulder or Scully's birthdays (and the unique ways you changed the details of both versions.)

Mulder and baby Will showing up for Scully's "take your kid to work day" (and him rubbing Will in Colton's face, my word.)

(I'm not kidding when I mean every. single. one. of your IVF and S8 and family fics, so I'm not even going to BEGIN.)

All of your Millennium fics. All. But particularly the one where Scully is woken up by a grumpy Mulder who felt betrayed that she'd left and drove over, despite his injured arm, before calling her and asking for permission.

Mulder sobbing and holding Scully after the other agents tricked him into thinking she'd died in a car accident.

Diana locks Mulder and Scully up in the One Son fort for the night; and Scully's hurt and Mulder's hurt and their reconciliation and re-understanding is one of the fics I turn to when I need to sleep but also need a story to focus on. Makes my brain go wild.

TFWID Mulder having nightmares of his past lives with Scully. Another one of those stories that sets my brain on fire.

Revival Mulder's psychic powers comes back and he tells Scully in the restaurant (part I) and later senses their daughter's heartbeat (part II.)

An ending

And while I could go on and on and on, there's already a lot I put down. XDDDD Maybe I'll make a fic list with my top 85? fics that cannot be passed up-- although, I don't know if Tumblr will allow me that enough word space to fit them all in. Hmmmm.

S11 Round 1

Shades of Purple

[This description has been modified to remove author commentary and for formatting reasons.]

Violet and Lilac used to know each other a couple of decades ago, and worked on an important project together with some others. Violet was the head scientist on the project, and Lilac ended up as a very important participant. But Lilac grew disillusioned with the project, whereas Violet kept going with it, and eventually it led to a split.

Present day, Lilac still works with Violet, but Lilac sees it in a sort of 'keep your enemies close' kind of way. And Violet needs Lilac for her unique skills - skills that Violet gave to her. Almost all of how Lilac's life has ended up is due to Violet and the project they worked on. Lilac wouldn't be how she is without Violet.

The first time Violet mentions Lilac is saying "I really like her". A short amount of time later, Lilac is calling Violet insane, but not to her face. Lilac's been hiding her resentment all these years, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike out against Violet, and Violet didn't have a clue. Very shortly later, Lilac's treachery is revealed and they are facing each other as enemies. But even after all these years, Violet still knows Lilac well.

They spend most of the story as necessary enemies, due to conflicting ideals, but in the end they end up mostly on the same side.

Happy Apple

The Apple was corroded over the years by her Tree, losing her luster. She continues to fake a shiny skin to avoid anyone seeing her true core, but the Happiest is the one person who sees through this facade. Initially terrified, the Happiest then decides to try and make the Apple glow for real, trying and failing over and over again. During one of their interactions, the Happiest realizes that despite the fear she sometimes feels around the Apple, she truly enjoys speaking with her.

The Happiest is part of a group whose goal it is to make everyone smile, but the Apple is singled out in the Happiest's eyes. During one performance, the Apple happened to be in the audience. This caused a spark of motivation in the Happiest's performance that even caught the rest of her group-mates off guard. Later, the Happiest meets the Apple's friends and learns the truth about the Apple, which only motivates her more to somehow help.

Meanwhile, the Apple has been mostly oblivious to the Happiest's antics, but isn't unappreciative of the failed efforts to make her glow for real. At one point, she is even able to speak genuinely with the Apple, asking to forgo formalities between them. While it is unlikely that the Happiest will be the one to return the Apple's luster, that hasn't stopped them from meeting with each other and getting closer to each other more and more.

This goes out to an anon who asked me which episodes to watch over a year ago when I had barely watched any myself. Now I’ve seen it all and can answer honestly.

Connections to Golf Club Walker via @wdway

When I watched e23 it struck me and not for the first time that there might be a connection between Pamela and the Rich Bitch Walker Mannequin that we saw in Still. I couldn't get that off my mind so I decided to go check it out and into the rabbit hole I went.

Over the years we've talked a lot about the Rich Bitch and what her symbolism might mean. Her pearls are a sign of her wealth. The manner in which she's displayed shows us that there was violence and some type of an uprising against what she stood for. She's only half of what's left of a human body. The bottom half is from a mannequin, something plastic only shaped in the form of a human woman. 

When Still actually aired there was a lot of attention by tptb around the Country Club and this particular walker. We seem to keep coming back to this episode not only for the storyline between Beth and Daryl but for all the symbolism that this entire episode carries. When I revisited it, I was struck by the ties of so many things in the present s11 storyline, but more importantly other connections between Beth, Daryl, Rick and the CRM.

I'll start with Daryl and Beth entering Pine Vista Country Club. One of the first things they see are 3 people, 2 women and 1 man hanging from the ceiling. 

The center woman who is blonde is wearing pearls, the other woman is dressed in a green flowered top quite similar to what we had seen Alpha wear in s9e15 The Calm Before.

We quickly realize that there must have been some type of overtaking of the rich country club members by the working class employees.

The next thing that we see is Beth looking over a table setting and picking up a spoon that is engraved with an image of the capital building and the words “Washington DC.” 

I've talked in a different rabbit hole ramble about how I have come to believe that the word Washington DC actually referred to a retelling/a coda of the story of George Washington and the American Revolution, replaced with Rick Grimes and a Revolution against the CRM.

We are seeing a rebellion right now at the Commonwealth which we believe will lead to a much larger one in the future that will include Rick Grimes and because Beth is the one who picked up the spoon she will be a part of the Revolution.

We see Beth put the spoon in her left back pocket. She then looks up and sees Daryl stuffing money in jewels into a backpack. She questions why he is doing this. 

It struck me that we have seen something very similar at the Commonwealth a few episodes ago where Daryl and Rosita were placed in danger because of the greed of Sebastian who wanting to hoard money. At the end of that episode, Mercer offers a stack of money to Daryl and Rosita for the help that they had given in this very unsavory mission. We were left with the moral question of did they or did they not accept that money.

Daryl and Beth move on in the episode, going down into the belly of the beast you could say, to the Pro Shop of the golf club, where we find the Rich Bitch.

We see Daryl with the Rich Bitch first while Beth is busy changing. I want to note the red fire extinguisher in this shot with Daryl. It struck me that we have him here with the fire extinguisher and the Rich Bitch, and in the episode Family, we have him with a fire extinguisher and Pamela, the Commonwealth's Rich Bitch.

Beth delivers one of her more memorable lines in the scene when she asked Daryl to help her take the RB down because she believes in the dignity of the dead. Daryl says, "it doesn't matter, she's dead." Beth replies "it does matter." Daryl covers the RB. Again they made certain that we see the fire extinguisher during this exchange. 

I want to point out something that seemed unimportant until recently. On the counter are two round white objects with black letters, PV. I'm sure it's stands for Pine Vista which makes perfect sense in this episode. It's the name of the country club. But how can we ignore the fact that because of The World Beyond series we know that there they were experimenting with walkers in what was called Project Votu/PV.

In the country club, we see three fire extinguishers. Rule of 3. We see all three with Beth. The first was while she was going through the kitchen area. It is silver. The other two are red with a yellow tag. Daryl is seen with only the two red fire extinguishers. Fire extinguishers are part of the water symbol which is a symbol for Beth. Even though technically there isn't water in the fire extinguishers, they are used to extinguish a fire, to control it. 

In Still, Beth is both a water symbol because of being around three fire extinguishers and she's a fire symbol because she is the fire starter. Starting a fire near the beginning of the episode and she strikes the match to burn the shack down at the end of the episode.

You probably are wondering where the tie is with Rick in all this. It comes back to the Rich Bitch. If a female walker with pearls=RB, then the tie is that we saw a RB walker in the last episode that we saw Rick in, s9e5 What Comes After. 

Technically we did not see Rick with the RB, but it all ties together with Anne/ Jadis who in WCA episode was going to use a female walker with pearls to bite Gabriel, but could not go through with it.

Anne/Jadis spared Gabriel but later we find that she took his name instead of taking his life.

It comes down to this episode where we have so many connections. We have Rick's hallucination of himself in a hospital bed that is so reminiscent of not only his first episode of the series waking up but also of Beth in Slabtown, waking up at Grady.

In the shot above, FG is laying tied down on the ground on a black and white rug in the junkyard. Jadis has a walker on a moving dolly with a bucket over its head. She removes the bucket and it is a female walker with pearls=RB..

In re-watching the other night, I was struck by the pink on the white horse. Pink. One of many colors connected to Beth . I realize it's supposed to be blood from Rick, but if that's true, it really should be redder and not pink. 

I've always believed that the female on the white horse in the opening credits is not Michonne but Beth. 

Let's skip to the part that you had talked about the other day @twdmusicboxmystery​, of Rick on the bridge using his gun to shoot the red dynamite blowing it up. In this instance Rick shares the symbol of fire with Beth. When I went to get a shot of Rick shooting on the bridge, I saw something else that we probably have talked about before. It certainly has more meaning now. If in fact, the scene Daryl shooting Rick's gun at the red fire extinguisher blowing it up is a remix.

We have Rick on the bridge, facing the herd of walkers. Daryl, below the bridge, shooting arrows to keep the walkers at bay. Michonne, Carol and Maggie are all running to try to get to Rick. There are several frames breaking back and forth between Rick and the different groups of people. 

The frame above is the last one before it breaks away to the others and comes back with Rick shooting. Look closely at his forehead. There is a circle of blood on the opposite side of where Beth was shot.

When the camera comes back on Rick after breaking away, there is no longer a spot of blood on his forehead. It's disappeared as mysteriously as it had appeared.

When I saw Pamela with her pearls and thought of the RB, I never dreamed that I would find so many connections to red fire extinguishers, Beth, Rick, Galadriel, Jadis and Daryl shooting Rick's gun.

I really do believe that they used the scenes in Still and WCA and remixed them for the shooting scene in Family, just as they have been remixing and reusing scenes from s4 and 5 throughout this s11C.

Love all your connections! I think you're spot on with them! I know we'd talked about ties between the golf club and the CW, especially back when Daryl saw the mural in the subway, but I hadn't thought about them in a long time, so I really like these. 

It will be interesting to see if Pamela dies in the final episode. And, if so, if there's any reaction from Daryl or TF. There really may not be one at all, but it will be interesting if there is.  

Anyway, great stuff. I think it all works together. While we can for sure tie RB to Pamela, because of the similar, RB walker with Jadis, we can also tie her (RB) to the CRM. So, I don't think RB at the golf club foreshadowed Pamela, per se. I think, as you said, it's a foreshadow of the CRM war and Beth's involvement there. But I also think Pamela and the CW are a foreshadow of what comes next, which is also the CRM war. So, it all works together.
