So how do you think Viktor, Yuuri, and Haru-chan celebrated the New Year? I personally think Haru-chan got scared of the fireworks sounds at first but when Yuuri carried him outside and lit a sparkler (the safe one) Haru-chan got so mesmerized which made Yuuri mesmerized which made Viktor fall so hard again while he looks at his family and thinking "God, pls don't ever take this away from me"

Oh goodness that image is PRECIOUS 😢 I had to write a little something forgive me for taking forever lol ;;

"His ears will be alright. You had hearing protection on him."

Yuuri looked up from consoling the wailing, kicking newborn he held against his chest to see Yuuko regarding him with a sympathetic smile. "He just got startled, that's all. I don't think Yuri meant it."

"I know he didn't, but I still feel awful," Yuuri fretted, removing the protective earmuffs that dwarfed his tiny son's head and setting them on a nearby table in the lobby. They had already slipped halfway off as he'd hurried his way inside.

Yuri had lit a long string of ladyfinger firecrackers (ignoring Viktor's warning not to light any excessively loud ones with the baby outside), and even the cacophony of sharp, rapid pops couldn't drown out Chiharu's frightened screaming. Poor little thing, his eyes had been so huge and terrified…Yuuri had to take a deep breath to keep from tearing up himself.

He didn't blame Yuri, really; he blamed himself. He was the parent here. He should have known fireworks, no matter how loud, would scare a baby who wasn't even a month old yet. Viktor certainly blamed Yuri, though; he'd been lecturing Yuri as Yuuri swept past them, and from what little Yuuri had heard over Chiharu's earsplitting shrieks, Yuri had sounded surprisingly contrite.

No real harm was done, of course. With a little bouncing and snuggling and soft cooing, Chiharu finally calmed down, rubbing his reddened, tearstained face on Yuuri's shoulder and quietly suckling his pacifier. Yuri came inside to meekly apologize with Viktor looming like a thundercloud behind him, arms crossed and face dark. Yuuri waved Yuri off with a smile, gave him a pat on the back, and decided to watch the rest of the fireworks from inside, instead.

With most of the larger fireworks gone and everyone inside drinking tea and cocoa around the kotatsu, Viktor hadn't expected to find Yuuri outside with Chiharu cradled in his elbow, rummaging through the bag of supplies they'd bought in downtown Hasetsu hours ago.

He placed his hand against the doorway of the onsen, his eyes softening as he realized what Yuuri was up to.

Yuuri had found a sparkler, lighting it in the dying coals from the fire they'd built and holding it far away from his body. Its pink-white flame shimmered and flickered, sending magenta sparks drifting to the snow beneath.

He could see Yuuri whispering to Haru-chan, kissing his tiny forehead, and oh, the look of shock and awe on the baby's face made Viktor's heart turn a weighty backflip. He didn't think he'd seen such a profound, clear expression like that on Chiharu's face yet. Just completely spellbound by the pretty light in mama's hand. Yuuri drew a few hearts in the air, leaving after trails in Viktor's vision, and somehow, it brought a lump to his throat and a feeling of sad nostalgia to his chest.

What a life-changing year this had been.

Leaning heavily against the doorway, knees nearly weakened by the intense adoration in his heart, he whispered a silent prayer of thanks…and a desperate plea.

God…please, don't ever take this away from me.

Imagine Yakov and Lilia battling it out if Haru-chan will be a skater or a ballerino 😂 Catch Viktor bouncing Haru-chan on his arms while it happens and thinks "if Haru-chan wanted to be a firefighter we will be nothing but supportive" and Yuuri's like,,,,,"guys Haru-chan is not even a year old???" 😂😂😂😂

Omg YES. You know with genes and parents like his Haru-chan will have so much untapped potential when he gets older, and Yakov and Lilia watch him like a hawk, wondering which, if either, he'll want to be. 

Viktor could just be balancing Haru-chan standing up on his lap at like 3 months old, calling out to Yuuri to look at their strong baby balancing and how talented he is, and Yakov and Lilia, halfway across the skating arena, immediately snap to attention and glare at each other competitively 😂😂 

As for which he'll choose...who knows! Viktor and Yuuri will support their bean no matter what ♡ 

(Yuri, however, is positive he'll be a figure skater)

Hey Mama Lil! I just read a fic in AO3 about Pochayuu being anxious why Vik and Yuuri is staying at home a lot and they explained it's because of the virus, and it made me think: how is Yuuri and Viktor doing with the quarantine? I bet they are so anxious since Beanie is just a baby. How about Yurio and the rest of the gang? I bet you Phichit is absolutely going nuts with the isolation given that he is an outgoing person lol

Well, you'll be happy to know that since this fic takes place immediately after the canonical dates of the anime that, canonically to SWBF, Viktor and Yuuri and beanie baby technically haven't encountered this mess yet. 😅 BUT, if they were to, you can rest assured they'd be as safe as absolutely possible and take every precaution. They would quarantine up with baby bean and ride things out together. (And they would come out of it just fine ♡)

Yuri wouldn't be too terribly bothered, I don't think. He's largely a hermit between seasons, anyway, and being stuck inside doesn't keep him from playing Overwatch online with Otabek 😉

Phichit would probably have a hard time with it, though. I can see him going stir-crazy pretty fast. But Yuuri calls him often (and Chris Skypes him...a lot 👀), so with the help of his buds, he manages. ♡

That being said, I dearly hope each and every one of you are healthy and safe in this weird timeline we've found ourselves stuck in at the moment. Even though she's a bit tired, you have mama Lil cheering you on to stay home as much as possible and wash your hands often! And drink water and remember to eat too. The light at the end of the tunnel will come, dears. We just have to power through!

Little bean is loved, yes he is, and absolutely no one can change my mind that Katsuki Hiroko and Katsuki Toshiya will spoil and pamper the little prince rotten. Piggyback? Yes of course. Play house? Definitely.

Oh my goodness. You better bet Jiji and Baba give their sweet baby so much love!

When he gets to be a toddler, Toshiya will have him on his shoulders all the time. Hiroko lets him sit on the counter top (with close supervision ofc) while she cooks, chatting away with him and nodding solemnly at his matter-of-fact toddler gibberish. 

Mari is the worst of them all, even though she swears up and down she's not good with kids. Once spring arrives, Viktor catches her sitting in one of the side gardens of the onsen with lil bean in her lap, showing him the butterflies that are lighting on the fresh buds of Hiroko's flowers, and Haru-chan is just spellbound, both by the butterflies and by Ma-chan's quiet, soothing voice. 

Safe to say there's no shortage of spoiling as far as Yuuri's family goes!

Mama Lil! I have a question: In Viktor's announcement post on Haru-chan's birth, he said that "Yuuri had some complications". Once the family faces the media again, how will they answer if the media asks what the "complication" is? Will they say the truth that Yuuri almost died and Minami donated blood or will they keep everything a secret? Just super curious, thanks and good luck on writing the next chapter!
