If you missed the first post about Grubmas AU, here it is.

A quick summary version if you don't wanna review the post: Ingo and Emmet are bug-like aliens called Insectoids who crashed on earth as young grubs and were raised by Drayden. They're able to mimic humans well enough to blend in with society, and live happily on planet Earth in safety from the Avians.......

Now, the new stuff :]

For generations, the Insectoids have been in a war against the Avians, a bird like race who greatly resembles owls. This war has gone on for so long that neither side really remembers why they're fighting in the first place. Some from both sides end up defecting and join together in a colony all of their own. A safe place on a neutral planet, shared by two native clans who agreed to share some of their lands. A settlement known as Jubilife, where Avians and Insectoids live together as brothers and sisters. Unknowing of the secret weapon that has been constructed on a mountaintop, overlooking all of planet Hisui's residents.......

A lone Avian spy by the name of Volo is the mastermind behind this device. Something meant to be attached to the forsaken god Giratina to enhance its powers beyond that of even Arceus itself. In its Desecration forme, Giratina uses the combined powers of all the plates that once belonged to Arceus. However, the device that powers this forme is held together by the Red Chain, once used to bound mighty Dialga and Palkia. Surely, there can be no consequences for utilizing such a power..........

Mod Sam here. Found some sketches of when I was figuring out how Sleepy Ingo was gonna look and decided I might as well share

Since coming home from Hisui, the tears in Ingo's coat were so large that they needed to add more fabric to be fixed. Instead of getting the same hue sewn back on, Elesa suggested mixing it up a bit with some white and red accents. Who knows, maybe the white patches came from Emmet's coat? ;)

In another world of fantasy, the demon kingdom try to resurrect their fallen king. Only, they accidentally use a summoning circle instead and pull Ingo from his world into theirs. Believing that he is the past king reincarnated, the demons immediately crown Ingo as their current king and accidentally gaslight him I to believing it too. Because as he was brought over and gained demon traits from the summons, Ingo also lost all his memories but his name.

On the opposite end, the human kingdom hear that the demon king has returned. Fearing for their downfall, the humans correctly use a summoning circle to bring forth a hero from another world. Emmet leaps headfirst into the portal that opens on his end, hoping it will lead him to Ingo. And while he does end up in the world his brother landed in, Emmet is tasked with defeating the demon king before the human kingdom will aid in his search.

While Ingo begins to govern the demon kingdom and actually help improve the lives of the people without starting another war, Emmet is lifted a magic sword and gathers a party of companions. Emmet then makes his journey to co front the demon king, neither brother knowing who they're about to fight.......

About a year ago, I started up a rp with discord friends centered around this au. It's been one of the best rp experiences I've ever had, mostly because of how awesome those folks and their own characters have been :]

Introducing Grubmas AU! An au where Ingo and Emmet are buglike aliens called Insectoids, that can mimic other species if they can get some of their DNA. This au was inspired by shows like 3below, Mork and Mindy, and Resident Alien.

@thesilverinfinity and @tinker-brows worked on this with me, including story beats and designing the other alien races involved in the au.

During a war on their home planet against another race called the Avians, Ingo and Emmet were stashed aboard a spacecraft along with their father, in an attempt to escape. Their mother stayed behind to protect their means of escape, but their father still sustained a serious injury. He could only stay present long enough to ensure his grubs survived a crash landing on earth.

While Drayden is on a forced vacation to a cabin in the woods, he sees a streak of light descending from the stars above. As Drayden checks the wreckage and accidentally receives a cut on his arm, his Haxorus delves deeper into the wreck after hearing a shriek inside. She comes back out with two big, grub looking things, clinging to her back and shaking in fear. Drayden thinks they're injured bug type pokemon of some kind, so he takes them in his arms to check them over. Grateful about being saved, the two grubs try to lick the cut on his arm to clean it for him. Drayden doesn't think about it much, just wanting to get them inside the cabin to check them over.

Drayden cleans them up, bandages his arm, and the two grubs curl up with Haxorus in her pokebed. Drayden passes out on the couch and the night passes. When he wakes up, Drayden finds two young boys, who look exactly like he did as a kid, just sitting on the couch on either side of him and staring. It takes him a while to figure it out, but when the grubs licked his wound clean, they picked up Drayden's DNA from him. Which allowed them to mimic a human shape in order to blend in.

From then on, Drayden does his best to raise two not-so-human boys the best he can. And Ingo and Emmet learn to navigate in a world completely foreign to them as they grow up and find their place in the universe.

Meanwhile, an avian searching for a plate of mysterious power scours the universe. Unaware that it was hidden in a ship that crashed somewhere beyond the borders of the war. But his spies are approaching, and he is sure that the survivors of the crash can lead him to his prize...........

Fun fact! Their mom is based off a poodle moth while their dad is based off a grasshopper! They show physical aspects of both their parents, and also a lot of instincts and behaviors from ants
