I’ve always loved Smallville during the fall. The changing of seasons… The turning of time. The last warm moments before the cold. But what I loved most of all… was the one weekend every year when everyone came together and sacrificed to help those in need.

One of the most troubling things to come out of this whole Jordan discussion is some people trying to blame his recent behaviour on Sarah.
“Jordan only became like this after she broke up with him.”
“She shouldn’t have strung him along by asking to stay friends.”
The idea that women are somehow responsible for placating angry, entitled men by giving them what they want and are blamed for their actions if they don’t is frankly disgusting.
Was Sarah supposed to stay in a bad relationship just to keep Jordan happy?
How the hell is setting clear boundaries and repeatedly telling Jordan they’re “just friends” stringing him along?
Are y’all so goddamn allergic to a little something called “personal responsibility”? It’s not Clark, Lois or Jon’s fault that he’s like this and it sure as hell ain’t Sarah’s either.

I don't participate in the Arrowverse fandom much anymore (for good reason), but I didn't realize how many people HATED Sarah in Superman and Lois until recently and I am just absolutely baffled by it.
"She's disrespectful to her parents." She's a literal??? Teenager???? And not just that, she's a teenager whose mother is the mayor (more pressure on her as her daughter to behave properly) and whose parents are actively undergoing a divorce (a divorce where Sarah found out her father was c h e a t i n g). Anyone who has worked with kids and knows anything about child psychology can tell you that divorce can cause literal trauma in the children of the parents. Now imagine your parents are divorcing because one of them cheated, and you're caught in the middle of it, and you found out about it during your fucking quinceañera.
Also, her (ex) boyfriend's dad is SUPERMAN. That's gotta put a WORLD of anxiety on her shoulders that wasn't there before. Imagine you find out that someone you're incredibly close to has superpowers, and his dad has superpowers, and now you're very well aware that THEY'RE the ones being put in danger all the time.
Shove all that on top of the hell on earth that's been going on in her hometown the last three seasons and uh...yeah. I'd be a little fucking sassy and snippy with my parents too.
I find it interesting that these people whining about Sarah never once bitched about Jonathon or Jordan being disrespectful to their parents (and in fact, I saw MANY posts about people bitching about Lois being too hard on them. Hmmmmm I wonder why that is).
If you're threatening to slap a fictional teenage girl (and yes, I saw posts about people literally fantasizing about hitting her) for being a little sassy, maybe you should stop watching TV all together.

Hey Superman & Lois fans?
Hitting your child is NEVER okay. EVER. Stop with your bs excuses about how "Sarah deserved it." NO ONE deserves to have their parents lay a finger on them EVER.

Letters From Watson Liveblog - May 13
The Cardboard Box, Part 2 of 3
Tumblr media
Even though Holmes doesn't really put credit into the medical students theory, it's good that he still pays attention to all the information about them. Just another sign he's good at his job.
Tumblr media
"Cheerfully" is not the tone I would go with if I had heard someone was extremely ill, but I'm sure Holmes has good reason, as usual, for his odd behaviors.
Tumblr media
A Stradivarius is a very good violin made by a specific Italian family, evidently. They're collector's items too. And five hundred guineas is a lot more than fifty-five shillings, so I can see why he's excited to have gotten such a good deal on one.
Tumblr media
Holmes did not need to disrespect Lestrade like that, but I'm never one to say no to some sassy Holmes moments. It does make me wonder what his thoughts are about which stories Watson decides to publish however, cause I feel Watson does try to showcase the more difficult mysteries. Except this one, I guess.
Tumblr media
A part of me would love to read Holmes' writings on various body parts and their uses for crime-solving, but another part of me realizes that it would also likely be quite dull like many other medical texts.
Tumblr media
In the last few paragraphs of this letter, Holmes basically spells out the solution to the case. And I feel like in a lesser version of this story that would be the ending, just Holmes explaining what happened without us seeing or meeting the actual culprit in any way.
But this is only part 2 of 3, so there's a whole other letter with more that can happen in it, which is nice.
Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3

I really thought that Superman and Lois was going to avoid having a love triangle with Sarah and the twins.
Please don’t let them have a love triangle with Sarah and the twins.

Okay… not really what I expected. They clearly wanted hype in case the network procrastinated renewals till post finale. But also didn't want it to be tragic, in case it was the end. For that I appreciated it. There were some incredible moments, mostly great scenes for the characters, the plot, and the action.
That being said it felt kinda disappointingly incomplete. I think this would have been an excellent mid season finale and considering the characters are just starting to make big moves. It really did feel like half a story this season.
I think I'm going to wait to pass real judgement until next season comes out the stories and arcs they started here get some resolution.
(The only really ridiculous thing was Chrissy/Kyle stuff but who really cares they are irrelevant and probably won't be in next season)

Friendly reminder that the S&L writers unironically pitched this and the only reason it didn't happen is because the actress turned them down.

Jordan being mad at Sarah feels like a case of “too little, too late.” She cheated on him last season and the show made him apologize for being angry even briefly about it. So as satisfying as it is to see Jordan finally stop giving her a pass, it now feels like there’s no provocation on Sarah’s part aside from a much less severe argument.
At least have him bring up the cheating thing in the argument itself to show that this was the straw the broke the camels back for him. That would make much more sense.
