Hair Care Update/Body Care

I posted a while ago about my hair care.

I am now doing very well with my hair care, and I couldn’t be happier with it.

I use Sashapure shampoo and conditioner as well as on other days Hask Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner. I also use a hair masque once a week that’s by Sashapure.

Every two weeks I do a hot oil treatment, and I use a hair lotion before bed.

This routine has made my hair much softer, and stronger and I found out I have two curl patterns in my hair, so working on defining them more.

I can’t wait until my hair is at a length that I can cut it to the style I want.

I will continue this whole hair care routine even after my hair is longer as I will definitely need it.

I also plan on getting a sleep cap so that my hair is protected as I sleep as I move a lot in my sleep and years ago when I had long hair I would lay on it and it’s snag and sometime even break (yes, it snagged that hard).

A hair cap for sleeping will definitely be a necessity.

I’m becoming very high maintenance it seems. 

My hair care has also triggered me to care more for my body.

After every shower I apply baby oil to my skin, and then before bed I use baby lotion. 

My skin has become so soft!

I need to somewhere add facial care, as I used to do a lot of dermaplaning, and daily washes of my face, and moisturize.

Self care has become my therapy, and an escape from everything.

At least I do a lot of self care that I used to never do.

Wet n Wild Blush - Used maybe twice? No real progress

Burts Bees Facial Scrub - I did like the smell of this a lot, but I’m not a fan of the texture. I don’t really feel that it did anything for my skin, and it was super hard to get out of the jar. Maybe if I use it with a facial brush....

Nabi highlighter palette - not used

Novo eyeshadow palette - used the orangey/clay shade a couple times, the N on that one seems slightly more worn down? I do like the texture on this, but have no idea how well these will blend, as I only put the one shade all over my eyelids and ran, I didn’t attempt to do anything too fancy LOL

St Ives Scrub - Used a fair bit, as shown by the markings. Not my favorite, but I don’t hate it. Likely wouldn’t repurchase in the future. 

SashaPure hair creme - not used

clean + Clear face scrub - used almost half of it out, definitely my fave of the 3 (!) face washes I have here. Would likely rebuy. 

Covergirl foundation - This is going sooo slowly. First black mark is the measurement at the beginning/middle of July, second black mark is the most recent measurement. It’s SUPER thick, and also slightly ‘wrong’ for my skin (just a little too dark for my skin even when I do have a tan) and a bit too orange looking. What I’ve been doing is decanting a bit into a sample jar and mixing it with some foundation that’s too light for me, as well as a little bit of moisturizer to make it thinner. It’s working so far, but I know in another month or so, it’ll be put away for the time being. 

Perfume - Used a couple times, no real progress.

Katy Perry Lipstick - used a few times, mainly as a topper over a red lipstick. I was surprised by how PURPLE this is, hence why I’m not using it more. (Last purple lipstick I had was more sheer, so I figured this would be along those lines)

Sephora lipbalm - used perhaps twice, not very much progress

Revo lipbalm - not used

Rimmel lipstick - not used

Clinique face moisturizer - used somewhat regularly, let me just say that it’s SUPER moisturizing so I really only need like.... a pea sized amount ??

Garnier Shampoo - Barely used, because I keep using the other shampoo I have open in my bathroom due to preferring the smell of that one?

Milani coconut lip treatment - not used

Sally Hansen nail polish - used twice? Small progress is visible, but not worth marking.

My hair looks really great after a shampoo and deep conditioning treatment using @sashapurebeauty @thermalhaircare on Sunday night. So my second day hair is shiny, soft and pretty. Soooo I’m bored as hell (duh) and figured I may as well do one of these posts even though I’m not currently doing anything similar to a project pan lol

(After all, what’s the point of wearing a full face of makeup if I’m not going anywhere?!)

Empties 1-10 of 2020

1 - New Skin Liquid Bandage - This works fairly well for minor cuts and scrapes. My one gripe, aside from the super strong smell is the fact that it seems like the liquid bandaid gets stuck in the grooves of the neck, so once it gets to about halfway, it becomes a bitch to open, if it opens at all. 

Item 2 - Charcoal Makeup Removal Wipes - I think I got these at Ross? They’re not super expensive, which is a plus, especially as they came in a multi-pack. They do the job well enough, so I’d likely grab another pack if the world ever starts back moving. 

Item 3 - Benefit They’re Real (mini) - Soooo. This did NOT impress me. For being a ‘luxury’/’prestige’ brand vs being a regular drugstore brand, this really didn’t wow me at all. I don’t think I’d repurchase, as while I got it in a gift set from Sephora, for the price of a mini I could easily get 1-2 fullsized drugstore mascaras that do the job three times as well.

Item 3 - Kiss StripLash Adhesive with Aloe - So this one I actually had to yeet early because it started to smell funky. I had about half left, which just goes to show that I REALLY didn’t use this much. A good part of this was because the squeezy-tube style doesn’t give very good product control, so it would ooze out blobs that were too messy when applying the lashes. Wouldn’t buy this again in a tube, perhaps if it had a brush applicator.

Item 4 - Charcoal Body Scrub (Lavender) - I bought this as part of a multipack at Ross a while ago, and finally got around to using it. I felt it was a little too rough on my skin, and the scent wasn’t all that amazing. Probably wouldn’t repurchase.

Item 5 - Victoria’s Secret Cloud Wash (Love Spell) - I bought this on sale a while back, and while it smells wonderful, I’m not really a fan of foaming bodywash, which I found out while using this out. Personally, I prefer a gel bodywash. Would repurchase this scent, but not this type of product. 

Item 6 - BPOO Color Crazed Conditioner - So the scent on this was pretty nice, almost like a tropical pineapple type deal, and it did leave my hair feeling rather nice afterwards. I might repurchase in the future, but truth be told, this came from a discount outlet near my school, which means there’s a good chance that this product has been discontinued. 

Item 7 - Sally Hansen Insta Dri - I have a love-hate relationship with the Insta-Dri nailpolish line. On the one hand, I love them since they’re great for when you’re on the go - they dry fast, and give reasonably opaque color in one pass. On the other hand, they do seem to be much thicker than most of my other polishes, leading to them peeling/chipping faster than a thinner polish would. and they also seem to dry out faster. 

That being said, I would probably repurchase one of these (not necessarily black, but a color that’s more ‘versatile’ like a medium-dark red, a nude, or a pink) to have on hand for ‘emergencies’ where I can’t show up with bare nails (my nails tend to get stained easily from dark polishes).

Item 8 - Burts Bees Citrus Face Scrub - The plus - I enjoyed the scent of this. For some reason, it reminded me a bit of an Indian Restaurant? I’d honestly enjoy like... a scented candle similar to this, or a room spray. The negative - I don’t feel like it did a whole lot for my skin, or got it all that clean/exfoliated. I don’t think I would repurchase.

Item  9 - SASHAPURE Curl Cream - I really enjoyed using this - it smelled nice and seemed to do a good job on making my hair curl nicely. My main issue with this was that it was SUPER easy to go overboard on, making my hair ‘crunchy’, so I found the ‘best’ way to use this was mostly to apply this from the ends upward. I would repurchase, assuming that this was still in production, as I snagged this over a year ago from a Walmart clearance rack.
