DCTV moodboards: redeemed Savifrost - Christmas

Made for @snowbarryspot Snowbarry Holidays 2022 event.

Frost teaches Savitar how to skate since she's a natural on the ice and she argues it could help them during their team-ups. They also bake snowflake cookies together making each one uniquely iced, even though most of them soon disappear due to his voracious speedster appetite. Savitar's decorations are more subdued compared to the rest of Team Flash's tastes but there are plenty of lights setting a cozy enough mood to return to at his from the cold outside and at the rink. Frost has a new polaroid camera as a gift from Cisco since she eventually showed an interest in photography as another artform. She makes sure to document their first Christmas together plenty, including taking a slightly out of focus, not so well lit photo of them both at the team party - it's certainly less than perfect technically speaking but it's her (and secretly also Savitar's) favorite photo out of the whole bunch she takes that holiday season.

🌱🌺 Announcing the 4th Annual Snowbarry Spot April Minibang event!!!🌺🌱

We’re back with our annual minibang event. Same as before, you can sign up to write fic and/or create accompanying art for a fic, or you can create something independent of the main event if you prefer to participate without signing up.

Sign-ups run from now until the end of March 14th (your timezone). You do not have to be a member of the server to sign up for the event but feel free to join us, we have writing sprints and plenty of fans to chat and bounce ideas with!

For writers, fics should aim for anywhere between 1,000 - 15,000 words and use a prompt from our list below. You can also use past prompts from this event - 2020 prompts, 2021 prompts and 2022 prompts - or any of the prompts in the server prompts channels. Fics are due by May 1st, though you may post earlier than that, if both fic and art are ready.

Please note you do not need to have a concrete or fully-fleshed out idea when signing-up but we do ask that you let us know whether you will be including Mature or Explicit content. In addition, we will also ask for which versions of our beloved pairing you’re intending to create content for, as that information will help us in the match-up process.

Artists, you’ll be paired up with writers once sign-ups are over, based on your rating and pairing preferences. Accompanying art may include edits, moodboards, aesthetics, gifsets, photo manips, vids, playlists as well as traditional and digital art. Deadline for art will also be May 1st.

Answered here, but also…the theory that Savitar canonically cared about Killer Frost at all 🤷‍♀️ sorry guys, he treated her terribly—had no qualms using her to bait Cisco and shut down her every attempt at connection. He saw her only as someone to use and felt no kinship with her (or at least, none that he ever voiced aloud. None that was enough for him to treat her with any sort of basic respect).

Ofc, people who wanna write fanfic where he did truly care about her in some way are totally valid, AUs are great, but people who try to claim that he canonically cared about her, or that they'd be sweet together...yeah, no

🖤: Which character is not as morally good as everyone else seems to think?

Answered here, but also...Killer Frost (she and Caitlin are distinct people, so 🤷‍♀️). I love her as a villain in s3, but...when they tried to make her a hero so quickly, it rubbed me the wrong way. She never even apologized to Cecile directly (she/Caitlin/both of them(?) apologized to Joe for all of that, mentioning Cecile and him but not Iris), and never apologized for aiding in Iris's attempted murder at all (and I know s3 was messy about whether she was Caitlin or not, but per later seasons, that was Killer Frost). I'm all for a good villain redemption, but this one was very rushed and felt like it came at Iris's expense (Iris was far kinder during s4 than I would've been to someone who AIDED IN MY ATTEMPTED MURDER)

💔: If you had to remove one major character from the series, who would you choose?

Answered here, but also...maybe Allegra or Chester? They both have great moments here and there, and I don’t hate them (Allegra in particular has an introduction that I find quite compelling, and same for Chester in a different way) but unfortunately, they suffer from being introduced as part of an effort to add too many characters to the show, without adequate development to make them feel as fully-realized as the characters (main, side, recurring, and even temporary!!) were in the early seasons (I could talk for ages about this honestly 😂)

Allegra makes a nice addition to Team Citizen (giving Iris a mentee was a nice touch and develops her role well) and has an interesting plotline with her cousin, and Chester's black hole powers are iirc a significant part of at least the first few episodes of s6(?) and I love him and Chester in the time travel/Deon intro episode...but aside from those, what do they add to the plot that no other character could? What's unique/special about them? That becomes very important when the main cast has significantly grown

📖: If you had to remove one [season] from the series, which would you choose?

Anything from 7-9 💀 7 and 8 have Bart and Nora, and they're sweet, but there's so much else in those seasons that suck (the Forces, Iris's time sickness, Iris being rescued by an emotionless Barry, the Eddie plotline, Armageddon...just ugh). And 9 is just...ugh. Sweet Westallen moments here and there, but a terrible plot aside from that. It's hard to choose a least favorite season when they all have such terrible parts, but maybe 7 or 8, since those were the most egregiously terrible.
