🌱🌺 Announcing the 4th Annual Snowbarry Spot April Minibang event!!!🌺🌱

We’re back with our annual minibang event. Same as before, you can sign up to write fic and/or create accompanying art for a fic, or you can create something independent of the main event if you prefer to participate without signing up.

Sign-ups run from now until the end of March 14th (your timezone). You do not have to be a member of the server to sign up for the event but feel free to join us, we have writing sprints and plenty of fans to chat and bounce ideas with!

SIGN-UP HERE

For writers, fics should aim for anywhere between 1,000 - 15,000 words and use a prompt from our list below. You can also use past prompts from this event - 2020 prompts, 2021 prompts and 2022 prompts - or any of the prompts in the server prompts channels. Fics are due by May 1st, though you may post earlier than that, if both fic and art are ready.

Please note you do not need to have a concrete or fully-fleshed out idea when signing-up but we do ask that you let us know whether you will be including Mature or Explicit content. In addition, we will also ask for which versions of our beloved pairing you’re intending to create content for, as that information will help us in the match-up process.

Artists, you’ll be paired up with writers once sign-ups are over, based on your rating and pairing preferences. Accompanying art may include edits, moodboards, aesthetics, gifsets, photo manips, vids, playlists as well as traditional and digital art. Deadline for art will also be May 1st.

I have yet to see anyone mistaken Danny as Killer Frost's Child- A child with snowy white hair travel around with ice powers and can melt it on commend. Of course there's gonna ppl trying to find him lol. It's either 'wants to contain him' or 'wants to make him one of them'. That's all until he stumbled across Killer Frost. He was just beating up ppl(hero/villain) who came up to him. She saw she joined. Becuz why not? That said ppl(hero/villain) pissed her off anyway. After awhile existing in DC universe finally someone who don't give a shit bout whatever, didn't asked and didn't want anything from him. Which is chill. He admires Killer Frost so much he changed his outfit to look almost look alike. With her permission ofc.

no but i think there's something to be said about frost being an artist and caitlin being a scientist. i don't know what the something is but it makes me weak in the knees. like. caitlin being this repressed, logical, dutiful woman? frost being this funhouse mirror of everything caitlin built for herself, everything she is? and then how many times they call attention to caitlin liking pink things, and frost's love for blue shades- pink symbolizes love, compassion, nurturing whereas blue symbolizes freedom, imagination, loyalty. Part 4 of me showing how DC's tend to be more sympathetic or at least more fun than their heroes (based on me playing Lego DC Supervillians). Mostly Flash Villians and Suicide Squad characters, this time:

Mirror Master: There's been two mirror masters. Sam Scudder and Evan McCullough. Skimming wikipedia, Sam Scudder seems pretty boring. He's just a simple convict who has mirror powers. But Evan McCullough (the one in the Lego game), oh boy. He was an orphan who was sexually assaulted at 8 years old and figured out who his parents were just to see them both die. That's all kinds of messed up, and it makes him incredibly sympathetic.

Killer Frost: There's been a few Killer Frosts (according to wikipedia), but the one trend I see: they're usually always scientists who get themselves in horrible accidents. I believe the current Killer Frost is Caitlin Snow, and wikipedia says her whole thing is that she's basically a vampire for heat due to a botched arctic experiment. And that's incredibly tragic.

Deadshot: Deadshot seems like he's got a really messed up backstory. A rich but negligent and abusive family, his mother tried to get his brother to kill his father. When he tried to stop them, he ended up killed his brother. That's incredibly dark and sad. Also, I think he has a kid whom he actually cares about. Which is sweet. At least he's possibly trying to be better than what came before him?

Captain Boomerang: Captain Boomerang actually does seem like a not great guy. He hates being ridiculed and grew up in poverty, but (at least in the comics, according to wikipedia) he's also a jerk. But he is fun and very entertaining, so I'll give him that.
