Post-series From Dusk Till Dawn fanfic gives SethKate shippers even more to scream about, because of course it does. Writers in the fandom, unwilling to leave the pair’s ending up to interpretation, have published some truly spectacular continuations of and twists on Seth and Kate’s story. Along the way, these creators have established some pretty solid and widely adopted pieces of SethKate fanon.

As someone who’s recently binge-read dozens of fics on AO3, I can attest to how easily they can be accepted as fact. (Like, seriously, try to change my mind.)

Seth walks aimlessly through the tiny town he used to call home, up until nine years ago. He wasn’t even old enough to legally drink when he threw a duffel bag in the trunk of his car and drove to Houston with no intention of coming back, too afraid to become his father if he stayed. The irony of the situation isn’t lost on him. Left not to become an alcoholic piece of shit, became an alcoholic piece of shit anyway, went to prison, now he’s back. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. The old church is still standing but the paint is peeling from the siding. The doors are chained shut and the grass around it is patchy and dry. There are no quotes on the message board. The entire town feels like it hasn’t changed at all and like he doesn’t recognize anything at the same time. Everything feels familiar, but eerily so. Like the uncanny valley of town. It should be home, but it’s not.

or Seth has spent the last five years in prison after killing someone in a drunk driving accident and now he's back in his childhood town. Only thing is, he's not the only one who came back there.

From dusk till dawn:the series and SethKate had a perfect ending and I will die on that hill. Would’ve I want more of them ? Yes, of course but it doesn’t change the fact that they got their happy ending and it was extremely satisfying. Not a lot of shows and ships can relate.

Seth Gecko not wearing gloves during "La Llorona" will be the death of me.

This man full on touched Kate's face without gloves even though Amaru could have come back at any time and tried to kill him.

Vid Rec of the Week: “Ghost - Seth/Kate (From Dusk Till Dawn)” by dominoesrising

I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve watched this vid now, because Seth and Kate’s early arc set to Halsey? Hell. Yeah.

“I like the sad eyes, bad guys, mouth full of white lies / Kiss me in the corridor, but quick to tell me goodbye”

The editing is also very fun, from the pause for Seth’s “preacher’s daughter strikes again” comment to the effects spotlighting Kate as Seth’s “ghost.”

Now, I could argue Seth is actually Kate’s ghost in early season 2, when she keeps losing him to the drugs, but I really enjoy this take too. Seth’s canonically haunted by her loss at the end of season 2 and throughout season 3, making this August 2015 edit particularly prescient.

Go give it a watch!
