WFS Big Barn Build - BIG Update, Old West items added

Old wood build items - converted from Sims 2, original by Wood for Sims - so woody that you can feel the smell of the old houses you build. Now with more windows and doors, from WFS Saloon set, but also my new variations.

I added two door variations like the barn doors, but a little more tidy and well built - to keep the cold prairie winter out.

New matching Roof Trim and Exterior Trim, in all the Big Barn colors.

I have a new walls and floor set uploaded called the Old West, with a bit wider planks - find it here.

Finally I remade the Big Barn fences with the new options added to Sims4Studio. They turned out a little different. So I decided to keep the old ones too - as people may have used them in builds already and it is very annoying when things disappear :P

Chuck Wagon Set

I saw the mini chuck wagon in the Horse Ranch expansion pack and needed it to be a bit more usable.

There are three parts:

The Mini Chuck Wagon De-Gnomed

The Chuck Wagon (de-gnomed, re-sized, opened up and slotted),

The Driver-Ready Chuck Wagon (similar to The Chuck Wagon, but slightly edited and with the shelf behind the 'driver's seat' removed)

The Mini Chuck Wagon De-Gnomed

The original mini chuck wagon, but Chuck, the gnome, is away buying supplies.

Because while it's cute, sometimes you just want the wagon without the gnome.

Found under Decorative > Sculptures. It comes in all of the original colours.

The Chuck Wagon

All ready to head west or to peddle your goods

One box on each end was removed, because that, out of all of the things, was unfinished, and finishing it would not work, so I moved on to the other parts of the mesh, which simply didn't want to work instead of just flat-out refusing.

The Driver-Ready Chuck Wagon

All ready to head west or to peddle your goods without banging your head as you go.

Because I didn't like the idea of a poor sim banging their head on the shelf behind them as their horse took off.

Sim-sized, with the ends opened, the gnome removed, and the top shelf behind the 'driver's seat' removed.

3 large slots (all inside), 8 medium slots (inside, on the shelves, and on the 'seat'), and 17 small slots (inside and on the shelves). I would recommend filling the large slots first, and then the medium slots, then the small ones. Also, if you shrink things (using the [ button on your keyboard), they may fit in smaller slots.

(want everyone to know this edit came to me in a dream and i changed the lore just to do it)

#in the dream i was like editing it but i was also there? it was weird. it started as a dream about lawson in a zombie apocalypse #ok important tags first so i can write an essay #ts4 #ts4 render #ts4 edit #the sims 4 #beckett #lawson #blood sports #but yeah if you haven't been here before beckett and lawson never knew each other as kids #if they did it would be a butterfly effect and mess w a bunch of other plot details. so i decided to work around it #also if ur new they've had a friends with benefits thing going on for a long time but lawson is in love with him. beck doesn't know #originally beckett was put in foster care as a baby bc of neglect and was bounced around foster homes for years #he was a troubled child always getting in fights a kleptomaniac undiagnosed autism etc etc foster families tried and just didn't want him #then when he was around 12 a very nice old lady named cora got him and they ended up forming a great bond they loved each other #she was going to adopt him then when beckett was around 15 or 16 his birth mother reentered the picture and wanted him back #it started a really nasty legal battle and cora died. we can't say for sure it was the stress of this fight but beckett certainly thinks so #anyway he did go back with his birth mother and things got really bad for him. he dropped out of school started doing worse crimes and so o #but none of that is what even changed #now LAWSON is also from west virigina like beckett. it's a small town lawson was new he had no friends #he was a very clingy possessive child who cried and threw tantrums so much #he met beckett and the rest is history. beckett didn't really mind how lawson acted he didn't really find him annoying like everyone elsedi #besides he didn't have friends either #lawson has wealthy parents they were welcoming to beckett at first if a little apprehensive. then he stole something from their house #and lawson wasn't allowed to hang out with him anymore. but he still did in secret. they still have no idea that beckett's even still aroun #or just how involved lawson is with him and his. activities 😬 they just think he's their good little college boy #in the original beckett moved to Not Gotham City when his mother got him back but in this version lawson is going to college there #and beckett's been distant from him for a while things are awful for him and lawson says hey. what if you gave the city a try. and he did #so really you could say the events of blood sports are all lawson's fault the end

CHAMPIGNAC : A NEW SIMS 3 WORLD

Champignac is a fully living Frenchy suburbia World based on Champs-les-Sims and has nothing to do with a vacation place ... Well, nothing is not really the right word ;)

Back in 2016/2017, when we began to think how we could remade Champs-les-Sims, we didn't know really what kind of world we wanted to do. We named the project : Sims de Nimes. Then, because we were on other projects ( such as sims 4 k-mods ) we left Sims de Nimes somewhere in the pipes.

We made Oaksoak Hollow ( based on Mystic Falls ), we made Eureka Valley ( a world between tech and classic life ) and we left behind the Sims 4 because, well ... too long to explain. :D

So, it was time to get out of the box our old project of Sims de Nimes ... During this time, some talented creators re-made Champs-les-Sims with their own vision, more oldy or more city life like, or more like Sunset Valley ... All those versions are interesting, but we wanted something else. And so, is born Champignac !

If Champignac is a true living suburbia world, it is too a quite rural world, almost a village with :

37 Community Lots

36 Residential Lots

10 Medieval Towers all around the town :)

In addition, it remains few Empty Lots, differently sized to suit whatever you wish ... So, let's say Champignac is a french-not-so-little-town where life is slowly flowing and dynamic at the same time, perfect for families and Sims looking for a different lifestyle :)

A typical downtown and outskirts, full of old buildings and southern architecture, a joyful mix between south-east and south-west housing, with a touch of something more northener ( but don't tell the citizens; it's a sure way to be frowned upon ) ... After all they worked hard to keep Champignac as it is!

People living in Champignac are quite glad of it. Sure, teenagers dream of foreign lands, but they are not too eager to leave.

Once, the townies of Champignac were grumpy because Champs-les-Sims was so more popular than their hometown ... After all, everybody went to Champs-les-Sims, stayed there, made nectar, drove a Kenspa, flirted with locals, or … anyway! Tourists had a full experience in Champs-Les-Sims and weren't interested in visiting any other city. Champignac, the official twin city, didn't benefit from any international exchanges, and was left anonymous, far from fame and glory. As unreachable as the Eiffel Tower seen from Champignac ... until ...

In February 29th of a certain year, a distant descendant of Marquis de Landgraab lost his way on the road to Champs-les-Sims and landed in Champignac. Instantly, he fell in love with the town.

He saw an always growing vegetation, a Monastery full of secrets, the familial beach ( yes, there is a beach in Champignac ), the forgotten obelisk, the shop keepers full of stories, the well preserved houses, the green fields and the paved streets, the true Café Catane and a remaining wild fauna running here and there ... He saw perfection !

For a time, the townies of Champignac experienced fame and glory. But how exhausting it was! Tourists not really caring about the legacy of the kiosk owner, the monks overwhelmed, the museum director who couldn't find enough teenagers to help ... Even the fishes were exhausted! Hard times indeed ... Happily, this descendant of Marquis de Landgraab met someone, somewhere, and moved out, far far away from Champignac. Celebrities said their last goodbyes and slowly, life, as it should be, was back :) The townies and City Council learned from that experience that they very much preferred not to be as famous as Champs-les-Sims ...

Life in Champignac was relatively calm again when suddenly, a global health crisis emerged and the Simvid-18 pandemic hit many many people ... Anxiety swept through the villages and the small towns, including Champignac of course ... With an aging population, residents became increasingly concerned about the well-being of their neighbors and the future of the city.

Shop owners and farmers who were already considering retirement were now faced with the daunting task of deciding whether to continue their businesses in such uncertain times. The entire world seemed to come to a halt, leaving everyone in Champignac wondering who would carry the torch and ensure the future.

Surprisingly, the youngsters that only came sporadically for holidays, moved back to Champignac. Fearful of living in a crowded city and eager to gather with family members, they came to the old town with friends. After all, there were spare bedrooms in most houses!

When the restrictions were lifted, many were reluctant to leave. Going back to a stressful life and fast-paced city wasn't enticing anymore. Most decided to turn their lives around. They took up the florist shop or asked for a job transfer ... So, life emerged again :) Champignac is now a thriving town where you have everything you wish for and nothing more.

Champignac is blessed with old churches turned into bars or wineries, old palazzi that are inspiring, and small boutiques as gathering places ...

Winters and autumns are short, while spring and summer are long. Come and live among thousands of old buildings, walk on streets Roman soldiers once trod upon, see treasures from foreign campaigns, and benefit from the perfect blend of country living and town living.

Remember ... With its unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, Champignac offers the Sims a captivating and enriching experience. From the stunning architecture to the delectable cuisine, every aspect of this town reflects the South of France’s intoxicating charm.

A Sims 4 Horse Ranch* review, by a Simmer who's not all that into horses

* Software not final. Sponsored by EA.

First, many thanks to EA/Maxis for the early access! This was a treat for me, to get access to an early build to try out for a while, as I'm not exactly a high-profile streamer. Or a streamer at all. Or even a creator (though I'll upload a household I came to love to the Gallery when I get a chance!). But I do love this game! And I love that I can help more of you play it the way you want to. Anyway, the review…

What I liked!

The great range of build/buy! I'll get LOTS of use out of this. It complements some other packs well too.

There are lots of helpful rooms in build mode for fast stables and nectar-related spaces! As a non-builder who sometimes tries to build, I was really happy to have a premade horse stall for my lot.

There's lots of Teen–Elder clothing and hair, and I love the dirty clothes swatches. I'll get LOTS of use out of this pack's CAS! And it will go well with styles from some other packs, too.

The new Afro-textured hairs are a welcome recognition that the cowboy culture of the Old West was not a White culture — there were lots of Black, Hispanic, and Indigenous cowboys and entrepreneurial women in the Old West!

I deeply appreciate the Indigenous content in build/buy, recipes, and CAS — I could see lots there in CAS, for example, that the Navajo people I saw and met in Utah and northern New Mexico (which is a part of the world I really want to go back to) wore IRL.

Lots range from fairly small (15 x 20) to quite large. I appreciate the range as someone who isn't a fan of building on large lots when I do build. There are horse practice areas in the land around some small lots, so you can still keep a horse there.

For Strangerville owners who love that landscape (which I do!), there's now somewhere for that valley, with its smaller population, to be "near". I can imagine that you'd drive up into a range from the new world and drop down into hidden Strangerville. Driving the other direction might take you to Oasis Springs.

The horse-riding and other horse animations are really detailed and fluid. They interact a lot with each other, too. I felt like parent and child horses recognized their relationship even.

The sheep and goats are endlessly adorable. Plus profitable! :D And they can sleep in your house!

The rabbithole adventure location out in the countryside has a very different gameplay than previous ones! And it has great sound effects -- play it with the volume up! It's hard to find, though. But it was nice to not need other tricks to get access. (I still have not done the secret places in Oasis Springs or the Outdoor Retreat pack!)

What I didn't like:

No new fridge, stove, bathtub, or toilet (I do like getting more of those!)

Very little boys' children's clothes. And no chaps for Children, even though they can ride and even though Toddlers got some

I would have liked a higher-tech/automated version of a nectar maker. However, this isn't a feature I care about much anyway.

You can't breed the mini goats and sheep, and there aren't even smaller baby ones. I'd have liked to have a full-on sheep farm. I like sheep. (I can practically see my husband glaring about how much I like sheep, even though he's waaaaay far away at the office right now.)

I definitely would never have found the countryside rabbithole without help, but maybe you will? If I could figure out how to do spoilers here, I would...

The horse-toy balls are a little… glowy? for my taste. They also weren't where I looked for them in the catalog, so you'll want to use search for them.

Cross-pack things?

I'd have liked to check out these before now, but with the pre-patch builds, that's not an option, and I'm always kind of busy when patches come out! For example ...

How do cats and dogs interact with horses, sheep, and goats?

Can horses be familiars for spellcasters?

Are there new Milestones?

Are there new Lifestyles?

Are there new Club rules, and are there enough of those?

This Simmer needs to know! (And eventually will.)

Neat things to know!

There's a rabbithole building in town where you can change or plan outfits like a dresser! And just off the main road in town there's a rabbithole building where you can buy goats, sheep, and groceries and other useful things, like horse age-up treats. I liked having an alternative way to buy these things and a whole new way to plan outfits. I'd be happy for more of that. If I can't go into a building, I might as well at least be able to pretend I can. As long as they don't end up being worlds stuffed with rabbitholes in place of gameplay (actually watching horse competition would have been nice!).

You can use a Community Board in town (or from B/B if you want one on your lot) to take local one-off jobs for money. Most need you to own a Horse or some sheep or goats. There are lots of ways to make money as a rancher without needing someone in the household to have a job. My relatives who are farmers will be seriously jealous.

Get to know that Crinkletop guy! He's very useful.

Bugs? Bugs!

Things to watch out for that were issues for me in the early-access build, which is NOT the release build, so hopefully it's a bit better:

Ranch dancing is EXTREMELY popular. You might want to not keep a radio at home until the new dancing has a mod to … moderate it. Or is tuned down by the devs. But I do like it when I'm in control!

The beautiful stone fireplace was also very, very popular, and of course potentially deadly. Watch out for that.

Ranch hands are NOT reliable. They might stay really, really late. They might stop showing up after a couple days. They might forget the things you instructed them NOT to do the day before. They might be super into kicking the garbage bin over. Keep an eye on your ranch hand. At least until the day, someday, when they get fixed. I'm hoping this is also moddable for those of us on PC.

At one point I had a weird bug where my Sim decided she would NOT eat. The rest of the household could eat. Guests could eat. They could eat HER food. It was fixed by going to the world map and back into the household, so I didn't find out if she was going to just starve to death.

I couldn't find some of the new CAS at first because some men's outfits were under "jumpsuit" for no apparent reason. So, if you're looking for some cool outerwear, try "jumpsuits." Hopefully it was recategorized for the release build!

Meet my sims: Decades Challenge

The year is 1891 and the Walters family is carving a space for themselves in Chestnut Ridge. They have a functioning ranch and even a ranch hand. They also have just welcomed their first child.

Clara Walters is a kind gentle woman in her early twenties who maintains the home and even helps out with the farm aspect when needed. She enjoys cross-stitching knitting and even handiness.

Abigail Walters is a 4 month old sweetheart who is beloved by her mother and father. She is sensitive soul who seems to be equally content and upset. Even though she is not yet the heir (fingers crossed for no boys lol) she is the oldest child of both Clara and James.

James Walters is the patriarch of the Walters family. He had the idea to move him and his newlywed wife to the wild west for possible new beginnings and space to shape his legacy and fortune for the generations ahead. He loves caring for his animals and his garden and has a special connection to his horse.

Blaze and Shiloh are the pets of the Walters ranch and are true farm animals.

Shiloh hangs out with the chickens,sheep and even takes nap amidst the crops.

Blaze is an ambitious race horse who seems to not like being mounted but everyday progress is being made and he is being shaped to be a champion.

how did you discover dan and phil? for me it was my best friend who got really into them and she was completely in love with dan lmao… at one point she basically forced me into watching a sims video and well here i am ever since. i believe this was in 2016

i got into the wild west of british youtubers back in 2011, i think this was peak "british invasion" renaissance on tumblr? i was really into bbc sherlock 😔 i also dabbled in doctor who and was raised on the fuckin terf wizard book, and then my friend showed me charlie mcdonnell's video about exploring tumblr LMAO. so i was really into her and... a few people she once associated with who were revealed to be Not Good People :\ i was into carrie fletcher as well, and benjamin cook's becoming youtube series. basically dnp were just another couple of brittubers in my ever growing bucket of 2011-2012 era brittubers. i think my first dan video was either lefthandedism or i will go down with this ship (rip to both these videos) and my first phil vid must have been pinof 4!

i wasnt obsessed with them and in fact detested the "creepy tween girl yaoi fetishists" fanbase until 2017 when something in my brain chemistry got switched around and i was suddenly a 20 year old digging deep into various documents and forums and now-dead blogs and such lmao

Raccoon, clearing his throat: "... L moment."

Soap, Gaz, and Raccoon break into a small chuckle/laugh fit while Ghost stands there regretting being partnered up with these three.

Gaz: "... I dunno, a green bike?"

Raccoon: "No, grass- I lied about the wheels!"

Both fall into a laughing fit.

Raccoon: "Me after I take 17 benadryl and start seeing the hat man."

Gaz: "the WHO?!"

Raccoon, defensive: "Oh is this not a safe space sudden?"

The 1-4-1 is out for dinner after a successful mission, and after ordering food everyone realizes that Raccoon isn't really eating- he's been picking at his food for a few minutes.

They realize, maybe 20 minutes of him picking at his food, that he got the wrong order- and he hasn't said anything. At all. Didn't even mention it by a noise. They have to physically rip the words from his mouth to tell the waiter while Raccoon tried telling them it's fine because he didn't wanna inconvenience the waiter (Ghost literally looked at Price and asked "how is he a soldier?").

Raccoon and Gaz bonding over the way they use to kill Sims on the Sims 4. Ghost walking past and overhearing with confusion- not like he doesn't understand (bc Raccoon says "I got rid of the ladder and drowned my Sim."), but just in general.
