#so i woke up really early #and that was okay cos inwatched avs while i loaded the dishwasher and fed henry (cat not popstar) and washed my face and logged into work #four day weekends are so nice but my bosses emails ugh #i managed to have three meetings #one of which i had to contribute a lot to #and get a ministerial response completed while watching that utterly borked nucks match #and now i am having morning tea and feeling good #ive decided its not too late to plant sweet peas #i couldn't do it cos of surgery but look its still Autumn..#and idk i just feel gd about this week #i am enjoying organising the house in a low pressure way and writing my fic and i see neil on wed #and it is mamas birthday on Saturday so on Friday my sisters and i will have dinner at a nice place by the harbour #near where she wants her ashes scattered under the bridge where you walk round the corner and see soh #and we'll talk about things she would have hated and things she would have loved since she died #and I'll cry into my sydney rock oysters and miss her #but im missing her as i stand in the kitchen typing this waiting for the kettle to boil so you know #silv rambles #sorry i just do this on whichever blog im using the most #block the silv rambles tag if its super annoying

How the fuck can anyone say The Phantom’s diss track is supposed to be making fun of Rayman?

The whole context behind The Phantom’s roast is calling Ubisoft out for their mistreatment of Rayman! You can also look at the narrative as The Phantom trying to undermine a lesser known video game star, just to make himself look good. The Phantom is both an insecure spoiled diva, and a metaphor for how Ubisoft’s CEO looks at their first mascot.

It’s certainly not as bad as how the Rayman Raving Rabbids trilogy treated him! The RRR trilogy portrayed Rayman as a loser, a pushover, and just a chew toy for the Rabbids. He never used any of his powers, and the games provided absolutely no familiarity to the Rayman series. In the first game, the Rabbids make Rayman their passive bitch, forcing him to do dangerous and humiliating trials against his will. Then after 14 days of trying to escape, he did not win the battle, and ended up getting stuck in a burrow. In the second game, Rayman is particularly non-existent, except for the opening cutscene. Again, no happy ending. In the third game, Rayman loses his playable character privileges, and is subjected to non-stop torture by the Rabbids. And still did not get his happy ending.

Compared to Rayman In The Phantom Show, Rayman is more confident and strong. They actually let him use his old abilities, even giving him kick-ass power ups! (Or as we like to call them; Combat Fatigues) The SOH DLC is filled to the brim with Rayman familiarity, from the well-known, to most obscure references! He leads his two Rabbid companions, rather than being their personal slave. And, whaddya know, Rayman got his happy ending! The Phantom’s song is meant to ridicule Rayman, yes, but through Ubisoft’s shady perspective.

How can anyone even say such nonsense when the DLC was developed by an actual fan?!
