Finished playing Stray, and man. THE ENDING. Spoilers, but…
The fact that we travel with what is the last human conscience through the city, and they sacrifice themselves for us and the robots in the end, we legit watch the last human die in this game. But they didn’t die alone. They died with their companion, that cat chose to stay with them until the end and just…. Cats man! This game really was a love letter to them!
It reminds me of how cats chose to stay with us in the first place when we were first setting down our roots, because we provided food and shelter, but most of all we provided love, and that’s why that cat stayed in the end. Because the last human loved them, loved them so much it died so the cat could be free again, and that cat loved them right back. It was willing to risk its life so many times for that human.
And that’s why even though the last human died, humanity will go on. The robots left behind will carry on humanity’s legacy, and that is a legacy of love, for music, for companionship, for art, for communication, for life itself.
does anyone have like an anti aesthetic. like something you look at and can recognize as a complete fashion/interior design/artistic movement and understand it but it makes you shudder seeing it. i am not talking like “its morally bad” “its poorly structured” like just sheerly devoid of joy for you actually invites a repulse response.
So the team might be a bit lost. And a bit in danger. And were separated but have at least fixed that.
But it’s definitely not their fault right? After all, you can’t expect anything when fighting Klarion! But uh, there’s something big approaching through the green and floating things, like big enough to make waves, and no one wants to get anywhere close to whatever it is.
Danny- newly molted into his adult ghost-form- just wants to say hello to his sort-of cousin’s friends, and would like to also get them away from the deep area of the Zone where the beings would not be afraid to nab a living being for a collection or two.
getting akumatized is fundamentally the most humiliating thing in the world especially since it doesnt even have to b something major. like imagine having to spend the rest of ur life as the guy who got so tilted over a twitter thread or getting a flat tire that they tried to destroy paris
wishmaster simon is really funny to me because its like the easiest way to make his relationship with betty work but also. you go to get a wish granted and its this nervous little nerdy guy whos nice but a little stuck in his head sometimes and kinda endearing in a pitiful way and he mentions his wife a lot.
and then you meet his wife and shes a 50 foot tall four eyed primordial eldritch chaos entity that reconstructs peoples organs as tetris blocks for fun and mutates entire worlds. and then theyre just in love and kiss and talk about old sitcoms like a middle aged dorky couple.
very pleased to report that i tried literally counting sheep last night and got my first full night's sleep in like a week in a long period of sleepless nights!!
