It’s sad that Katara got punished by the narrative for liking boys other than Aang meanwhile Aang being purposely dismissive towards Meng because she was awkward and wasn’t as pretty as Katara was more than okay. Like of course he wasn’t obligated to like her back it’s just obvious the writers sympathized more with a boy in that position than a girl. A petty part of me imagines Aang later running into Meng and find out she truly blossomed and having near forgotten about him completely.

I would love to see Aang have a string of toxic, unsatisfying relationships until one day having an epiphany that he is the problem and then has to do therapy with his past selves to figure out how to be better. Meng would probably be one of his last relationships before he decides he and himself need to have a talk

Oof I'm kinda scared to ask... Why do you not want to be an artist professionally?

Its just like, incredibly miserable in my experience.

Everyone wants their dream job of being paid to draw whatever the hell they want but 99% of the time you are hired and tasked to draw things that you don't have a lot of interest in, professionally speaking, and constantly getting your artistic efforts undermined by the rest of the team (this is esp. true in the videogame industry) artists always try to push for better designs and get their takes watered down for the sake of general public pleasing. Also you don't have a security blanket unless you're under long term contract. Most freelancers live gig to gig with the fear of not being able to support themselves if they don't take a job to take a break. Videogame and movie jobs arent stable because companies never keep the art teams, they are laid off and rehired whenever there is a new project

During my major, I drew nonstop for 4 years for class. Not always things I enjoyed, but also not always things I didnt like. In fact I enjoyed my major immensely! It was so fun. But the burnout is very, very real, and the workload was similar (even inferior to) regular art jobs. What happens if you like to draw in your off time? You spend your days making and pumping out art nonstop for hours, and then on your free time breaks you draw some more? I personally couldn't do it. I just wanted to do other things

And like.... I spent the first three years being told by teachers (people with stable, contract based jobs) how cool of a job it is to do art, and then the last year getting grilled on how insanely hard it is to make it out there. If you don't have connections, money, an audience, a studio, it's actually impossible. You need to be your own lawyer, abide by the very strict self employment rules that take a severe chunk out of your earnings. Do all of your finance/schedule/marketing etc while on top of that constantly producing work (I know there's people who can do it but, personally, I cannot) I really admire the people who were able to build themselves up as artists from the ground like this (because its definitely possible, just insanely hard)

Also, making something you love into your job ends up being miserable too. I experienced this with patreon, which I posted to as like a chill thing and it just got increasingly hard to make content for it or just post in general, even drawing my own ocs and sharing stuff about them started to feel like a chore.

Maybe it's just me though, this has just been my personal experience but yeah in general I realized I am immensely happier just keeping art as a hobby or its gonna suck my soul out (Since I already experienced it)

I don't mean to discourage anyone, I think the world in general needs more artists. But for that we would need to actually be taken seriously and valued, which sadly we are not, at all. And if there's anyone reading that is considering art as a job: it is absolutely grueling. It's not an easy job. Even if you desperately love art it can suck the life out of you and the joy for what you do

(As an extra sidenote. Artists are usually exploited using this mentality as well. That they are supposed to love their job. So they expect you to work your wrists off "For the passion". Dont fall victim to it)

Anyway, curious now how the Rhuidean sequence is gonna go. Those leaked set photos definitely look like AoL costumes/wagons. Plus, to me at least, having Maigran leaked as a casting name suggests a bigger role than just “traumatized kidnappee.” Like maybe she’ll be the first Maiden. I wonder if they’ll narrow the generations a bit and just follow the same group through the events, as I can imagine it’ll be hard to keep track of the names and actors otherwise. I also wonder if they’ll keep the reverse chronology or if they’ll start right from AoL - again I would think easier for a film medium to start at AoL and work up, versus going backwards in the books where at least you can refer to the names in the previous section

anons hot take: reva should have instantly died once she let go of her hatred in owk... not walk off to have her own spinoff show...

I've got a number of gripes and criticisms with the Kenobi show but Reva surviving really isn't one of them. I honestly really liked her as a character and wish the show had done more with the potential that was there.

Having her die kind of misses the thematic point of what letting go of the dark means. As unrealistic as I find it for her to have survived being stabbed during Order 66, there's something very symbolic about her being 'killed' along with all the other Jedi, only to have her dragged back into this unlife, waking up amongst the corpses of her friends as this single solitary ghost, then forced to live for a decade in what is essentially hell, being twisted into something she never should have been. She's a vengeful spirit, unable to move on, just lashing out while stuck in this purgatory. She's trapped forever endlessly chasing after revenge- until she's finally able to break out of that cycle and actually live.

I think there's something really interesting in viewing the dark side as this horrific un-death- unable to die but also unable to live. This in-between limbo of pain and hatred forever eating itself alive. A vicious cycle of sad broken people stripping apart and breaking other people because someone had done the same to them.

Reva was able to break free of that. She stopped herself from continuing on that chain of hurt. I don't think the conclusion of an act like that should be death, but the chance to actually get to live and heal.

I've taken my sleep aid and now I'm just woozy enough to put this weird brainthought into words. This is entirely random but it's something I've been thinking on for a while now and I just need to get it out of my brain

I want Sun to die.

Now, don't hit me yet. Sun is literally my favorite character. I mean that. Literally. Favorite. And I want him to get killed in the coming story arc.

But why???

BECAUSE

well, for many many reasons but my main two are

Eclipse's final warning to Moon

Sun has learned star power

Now I can't go into this too specifically becuase god we'd be here forever but I want Eclipse's words to Moon to come true. He told Moon if he didn't listen to him, that Sun would die.

And Sunny now is trained in star power. It get forgotten A LOT, which I hate, but linking this with the new star beings would make me forgive the writer(s) for that. And they've already threatended Lunar if he doesn't get control over his power, and Sun was so chaotic with his magic and then it was hinted that he was being reckless with star power too.......(also a secret third thing is Bloodmoon, who might very well still want to kill Sun, but that has nothing to do with the rest of this so ignore)

The details of how/why Sun would die...idk the details don't matter since I'm not a sams show writer

now now now put that stick away. I don't want Sun to stay dead forever. Like I said, I literally love this character so much it's ridiculous. But I would like him to stay dead for more than just one episode. I'd like this to be something the others all have to live with for a while, it would make for some amazing character development all around. After all, what is the celestial family without their center?? Their heart?? Their light????

So Sun would get brought back. But as an added sting, I'd like them to not get the same Sun back. He'd either be reset. A New Sun, just like New Moon. OR even a Sun from another universe. AGain, idk about details since this will most likely never happen.

(precursor) damn we're starting off strong- Honestly this one is hard to say. I'd say no to killing or wounding but if you look at an angle you could argue yes. And not quite, I think it would be a lot harder to break trusts if it was never given to begin with.

(precursor) 'homey' due to always being kept inside and sheltered a lot as a kid, but also likes exploring. not really in a travelling aspect tho they wouldn't really like moving to somewhere too far from home.
