Top 10 kdrama friendships that had me bawling

#10 - alchemy of souls : mu deok/bo yeon + the boys

the only reason this doesnt get a higher rating is because they just didnt have enough scenes together. it was always pretty secondhanded, like the boys helping her with her servant exam in s1, or scenes between seo yul and mu deok/bo yeon. however, their friendship was amazing, and just adore this show in itself.

#9 - doom at your service : tak dong kyung, na ji na and cha joo ik

okay, they weren't a trio, necessarily, but they had such a great friendship through indirect interaction. joo ik and dong kyung had such a wholesome excited little sister and passive older brother relationship. and dont even get me started on the cuteness that was the friendship between na ji na and tak dong kyung.

#8 - strong girl do bong soon : do bong soon and gyeong shim

i wrote about this in my review of strong girl dbs as well, and the friendship between gyeong shim and dbs was so cool because both women were willing to go to such lengths for each other. one of the lesser-highlighted friendships of kdramas.

#7 - crash course in romance : nam haeng son and kim young joo

it takes a lot to sacrifice your national sports for your friend, and young joo made that sacrifice like a pro. their friendship was so cute, a bit annoying at times, but cute nonetheless. they were there for each through the goods and the bads, and that's all we really ask for.

#6 - lovestruck in the city : lee eun oh, suh rin i and kang geon

why! are! they! not! talked! about! ultimate peak best friendship, no romantic subplots to this gang, absolute delights. everyone should give lovestruck in the city a try.

#5 - twenty five twenty one : the gang

how could i say friendship and not have these people. this gang singlehandedly and platonically had enemies to besties, childhood besties, sunbae besties and just everything. right in the feels.

#4 - weightlifting fairy kim bok joo : the trio + the boys

the 'swag' trio. every time they did the swag thing it made me cringe so bad but they were very cute. the rooftop scene was legit so cute and the addition of the boys was even better. nothing beats these weightlifting girls and we stan.

#3 - extraordinary attorney woo : woo young woo and choi su yeon

this was sosososososo cute. the way su yeon was literally always there for young woo. she couldve easily been a villain, young woo took the guy she had a crush on, was higher in grades and well known. had an influential background. such telltale signs of bad women in kdramas. BUT this amazing person really was so good with young woo and totally spring sunshine su yeon.

#2 - the fabulous - the gang

everyone seems to hate the fabulous. genuinely, come at me. i dont give a shit about cinematic art or marketing strategies or whatever, this is my opinion gonna stick to it. i ADORED the fabulous. their gang was so amazing, the definition of supportive, cute and somehow maintaining that joke around stuff. they had their little pairs in the middle as well, but that didnt take away the overall love. go watch it.

im a recent to hosplay bandwagon, but. i fell in love. finished the (almost) entire show in nearly a week, an achievement considering it's my finals rn. we've got the piggies, buddha who is catholic, the guy who knows everybody and his dad. it was the little things with them for me, really. when they called jeong won andrea like that was so cute. when jun wan called seok hyeong ik jun's dad it made me laugh so much. and the fact that they're really not that close when u think about it but they still are? like that is adult friendships and we love.

When SGDBS made me weep for hours.

Reason why this scene will always make me cry is because when I was little, I had that one friend who had a great memory and could describe anyone or anything with so many details, it fascinated everyone. To the point where her family created a game where they would say a name or an object and she would draw it with all the little details. One day after the weekend, that friend came up to me and just stared at me with wide eyes without saying a single word. When I asked why, she told me that when her grandmother told her my name for the game, she couldn't picture my smile in her drawing. That day, she begged me to smile at her and stay with her.

She spent days, weeks, coming to me with teary eyes because she wouldn't remember my eye shape, or my nose. Sometimes it would be my jaw line or my scar below my eye. The color of my eyes or even just the shape of my eyebrows. Things that no seven-year-old girl should care about but troubled her because she used to know all of that.

After Christmas Holidays, that same girl, who always knew everything about physical traits, who was a genius at portraits, who could draw and describe perfectly by memory had to ask the teacher to bring her to me because she couldn't recognize me at all.

She then told me that day how her parents took her to a specialist during the holidays and they came to the conclusion that she had Prosopagnosia, that's an illness where the brain doesn't recognize faces anymore. It's not as uncommon as people think and you either have it from birth or brain damage.

Needless to say, she got it from brain damage. She had some freak accident where she had to be hospitalized for a couple of days. The doctor did say that it was a surprise since the Facial Blindness comes directly after the accident but that it came progressively with her.

Since that day, she would often touch my face and try to remember what I looked like. For a while, she did have a faint memory of it but with time, I guess it just evaporated. It happens, you don't always remember a face you don't often see until you see it again. Well, that she couldn't do anymore.

To get to why that scene made me cry, when we were in high school, she once told me when we were having a heart to heart; "I can never recognize you in the crowd. I can't remember anything about your face apart from the fact that I used to love your smile. It makes me sad, (Name). I know I loved your smile. I know I still do. But what does it look like?"

So that scene in the drama made me physically place my phone down and cry my heart out until I had difficulty breathing as I remembered that friend whom I lost a couple of years ago.

Because that simple love declaration where he admitted thinking about her at all time, accidentally unlocked a part of me that I had buried deep down.

what i absolutely hate about (most) kdramas is that the guy always seems to be more into the girl than vice versa. i understand shyness and stereotypes, yk, but it’s so painful seeing the guy making efforts while the girl doesnt even pay him mind until he does it? and there’s countless examples, too

Kore sinemasında komedi ne izleyebiliriz diye bakarken en iyi komedi dizileri listesinde 2.sırayı parsellemiş olan bu yapımı bulduk. İyi ki de bulmuşuz. Tartışmasız izlediğim en keyifli dizilerden biriydi. Üzerine çokça başka dizi izlemiş olmama rağmen, açıp açıp hala bazı sahneleri izliyorum ve izlediğimde de hala aynı derece keyif alıyorum.

Dizinin konusu, doğa üstü güce sahip bir hanım kızımızın hikayesini anlatıyor. Bu güç nesilden nesile ailedeki kadınlara geçiyor. Kötü amaçla kullanırlarsa kaybedeceklerine inanıyorlar. Bong soon (Park Bo-Young) bundan korktuğu için hayatı boyunca gücünü çevresinden saklamak zorunda kalmış. Bir gün gücünü kullanmak zorunda kaldığında An Min Hyuk (Park Hyung-Sik) ile karşılaşıyor. Bu genç adam ise bir oyun şirketinin sahibi. Bir süredir tehdit telefonları aldığı için tedirgin yaşıyor. Do Bong soon’un gücüne şahit olması üzerine onu özel koruması olarak işe almaya karar veriyor.

Duygu geçişleri, insan ilişkileri, mimikler dizi boyunca kalitesini koruyor. Kesinlikle başrolleri seçerken mükemmel iş çıkartmışlar. Tartışmasız en uyumlu dizi çiftiydiler. Enerjileri, bakışlar, diyaloglar bütün anlatılmak istenen duygular olduğu gibi izleyiciye geçiriyordu. İzlerken kadın oyuncuyu sevdiğim için ya da erkek oyuncuyu beğendiğim için değil, ikisinin birlikte kimyalarına bayıldığım için bu yorumu yapabiliyorum. Ve bu dizinin üzerine onlarda Kore dizisi izlemiş olan biri olacak gönül rahatlığı ile net bir şekilde söyleyebilirim ki en güzel çifttiler.

Dizide çok fazla absürt olay ve karakterde vardı. Dizinin çok ciddi bir havası olmamasından kaynaklı olumsuz bir durum olduğunu düşünmüyorum. İzlerken beni rahatsız eden birkaç karakter olmasına rağmen, en itici bulduğum karakterin dizinin ilerleyen bölümlerinde farklı bir rolde daha karşımıza çıktığını görünce, baştaki düşüncem oyuncuyu takdir etme olarak şekil değiştirdi. Birbirinden o kadar ba��ımsız iki karakteri çok başarılı canlandırdığı için bence alkışlanmalı.

Diziye beklentim çok düşük başladığımı itiraf etmeliyim. Mantıksız, abartı ve absürt sahnelerle geçiştirilmesini bekliyordum. Belki bu kadar düşük bir beklenti ile başladığım için beni daha çabuk yakalamış olabilir. Beklediğimden çok daha kaliteliydi. Özellikle, diğer dizilerde; kız ile erkek tanışır aşık olur ve ya biri diğerinin peşinden koşar klişesi yerine, başrol kızın daha ilk bölümden başka birine aşık olarak başlaması farklı bir hava yaratıyordu. Bölümler ilerledikçe ilişkilerin evrilmesi, çözümlenmesi, gelişimi çok dozunda işlenmişti. Karakter gelişimi gerçekten gözle görülüyordu.

Bu iki güzel insanın bir araya gelmesinden ortaya çıkan içimizi ıstan ilişki uzunca bir süre yüzümü güldürdü. Park Bo-Young ve Park Hyung-Sik için o dönem flörtleştikleri yönünde dedikodular çıksa da hiç kanıtlanmamış. Belki de bu kadar uyumlu olmalarının nedeni aralarında gerçekten bir çekim olmasıydı.

Diziden bana kalan en keyifli anlara gelecek olursak, iki sahneyi söyleyebilirim. Öncelikle çatıdaki bomba sahnesi çok duygusaldı. Oyunculuklarda, sahne çekimi de, senaryodaki yeri de bence konuşulması gereken anlardandı. İkinci sahne ise sahilde kuma kalp çizdikleri sahneydi. İnsanların bir adım atarak hayatlarını değiştirebileceğini metaforik olarak dile getirmeleri beni etkilemişti. Bu iki sahnenin dışında, An Min Hyuk’un belli zamanlarda ‘beni sevsen olmaz mı’ diye sorması yüreğimizi bolcana parçaladı. Birbirlerine Min Min ve Bong Bong diye hitap ettiklerinde çocuklar gibi sevinmeleri de çok eğlenceliydi. Çok seven erkek karakter yerine, o çok sevgiyi güzel severek gösteren erkek karakterler açık ara öndeler. Min Min de çok güzel seviyordu.

Sonuç olarak toparlamamız gerekirse, absürt ama kaliteli bir diziydi. Benim ilk 5’imdedir, net.
