It's incomprehensible to me why people want to see AEW fail. At the most basic level, which some of these critics seem to focus on, there are more jobs for wrestlers which means more money and options in the business. More options means more competition which means all promotions are stepping up their game to put on fantastic shows which draw viewers, wrestlers, and other professionals. It means a better opportunity for any and all wrestlers to find what suits them best. On another end, multiple accessible promotions to fans means we can pick and choose what kind of wrestling we want to watch throughout the week. We can choose different shows from different promotions every week based on who is wrestling, and skip episodes that don't meet what we want while still seeing what we want to watch. Or, we can stay with a single promotion and watch all they have to offer as a whole. If you're out of your mind like I am, you watch as much as humanly possible because I love watching wrestling and don't really care about the promotion aspect of it.

The us vs. them dichotomy serves no one except perhaps a few billionaires at the very top who want to create monopolies in the TV industry and get all viewership on 3-5 channels. At that point, it's not even about wrestling. It's about people who can live off the interest of their backup bank account wanting even more money. And why the fuck would you want to encourage that?

No offense but I feel like among IDW1 Megatron fans you can lowkey tell who's read multiple series of the comics (namely, phase 1 and early phase 2) and who's only read MTMTE by the way they talk about, headcanon, or write Megatron. And like it does genuinely make a huge difference because I feel like MTMTE Megatron in general is a different flavor of Megatron from the rest of the series..... not OOC, that's the wrong word, but like....... more as if JRO had a very specific vision of him and janked the reins of the series to drive Megatron down a specific interpretation of his character, which is still in-character but is very different from the way he was characterized early in the series.

But in terms of Megatron fans, you can really tell the difference between MTMTE-only readers and other-parts-of-IDW readers.

Listening to Neverafter episode 9 chunks while multitasking in prep for todays ep, only to get well and thoroughly derailed by Pinnochio's scene with Geppetto because. god. god. shit. the entire thing is heartbreaking on so many levels, its unfair and upsetting for Pinnochio and the question of why he gets punished so harshly for these things other kids get to do- (aaaaAAAAAHHH)

and in addition to. fucking everything else about it. it really captures beautifully, the specific rage and hurt and helplessness of being a child, when people won't listen to you. the people who should, who need to, who are supposed to care about you, not listening, and the ways kids get hurt and lost and minimized as a result. Getting the lecture and the reprimand when you need someone to listen, to understand. When Pinnochio says "Sometimes you need to lie", and all Geppetto hears is the moral and not the desperation, not the child, terrified. fucking devastating.
