Incoming rant about The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Herlock Sholmes from The Great Ace Attorney, and the BBC Sherlock (no major spoilers ahead I promise).
A preface before I begin; I was never a big fan of Sherlock Holmes or any adaptation of the stories. I've seen Elementary although I was very young so I only have the vaguest of memories of enjoying it, and my roommate had me watch a couple BBC Sherlock episodes when I was a tween/young teen. My mother claims she tried to get me into Sherlock Holmes but I'm rather skeptical. Anyhow, onto the story.
Back in March my boyfriend bought me the Ace Attorney games for my birthday which included the Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (or Dai Gyakuten Saiban for those who are still stuck on the pre-localization names ;p). I was on my flight home from my birthday trip after I got the news my manager fired my brother while I was out of the state and figured why not, I'd start playing the first TGAA game on the flight. I'd probably enjoy myself and I couldn't sleep.
Second biggest mistake of the year (first biggest was trusting Les Schwab to do my brake job). I. Was. Hooked. I played the first case and fell in love with Kazuma instantly (he's so Zero shaped!). I played the second case and realized that calling him Zero shaped was way too accurate. We all know what happened there. Most important to this rant, I met Herlock Sholmes (more on my opinions on him later). I could barely put the game down but I had to take a break due to finding a new job and getting adjusted. I ended up finishing the game in June or July, one of the two. I finished the final case of the first game in one long 12 hour gaming session it was that good (my back didn't thank me though).
Now, the man of the hour: Herlock Sholmes. I didn't think much of him initially. He was simultaneously charming and annoying in the second case but as I played more he grew on me. I cried when the start of 1-5 happened. He clawed his way up into like the top 7 favorite characters at the time. The ending of the game with him playing his violin made me bawl my eyes out. I. Loved. This. Game.
It took a few more months to start and finish the second game. In between Adventures and Resolve I played Skyward Sword, Minish Cap, and some others so I had a healthy break. I came back to play Resolve and finished it like two months ago. It hit me in the gut just as hard as the first game did although there are a great many things I'd tweak and do differently. But Herlock Sholmes... man, he's not my favorite but he's up there underneath Kazuma and Van Zieks.
Anyhow, I finished the game but the hyperfixation had started and would not let me go. I've never been one to go out and seek fanfiction due to... personal stuff but I had a feeling I didn't want to go probe the depths of AO3 yet for fear of crying. I started a graveyard shift at my job which severely limited my ability to talk with people about stuff and also there's so many major spoilers but very few people I knew had played the game. A thought occurred to me, however. What about Sherlock Holmes audiobooks? I have an auditory processing issue which has made listening to audiobooks hard but I decided to give it a go. Perhaps it would satiate the TGAA hyperfixation hunger.
I found the ones produced by Magpie Audio, expertly narrated by Greg Wagland. Go check him out, he has over 77 videos of Sherlock Holmes audiobook recordings and all of them are a minimum of 40 minutes, often times far more. I went through over 30 hours of audiobook in a few weeks listening to these. Sherlock Holmes is such a good character and I can understand how and why he took late Victorian England by storm. And you know what the best part is?
Herlock Sholmes is the most faithful adaptation I have personally seen as a character of the original Sherlock Holmes.
They got so many of Sherlock's little idiosyncrasies right and you can tell the entire team were genuine fans of the books. I listened to Mr. Wagland's narration *and I saw 221B Baker of the games*. Especially the jack knife impaling the communications to the mantle being referenced in the game? The sheer mess of the flat? It's so good!
My roommate (whom is also a Sherlock Holmes fan) noticed my newest hyper fixation that spawned off of TGAA and that reignited his Sherlock Holmes obsession. He was a fan of the BBC Sherlock and now recognizes it was not a very great show but it's a comfort media for him nonetheless. He just dragged me into rewatching it and... okay, it's playing into a lot of inaccurate Sherlock tropes I don't like but goddamn Martin Freeman carries the whole show. I love his John Watson because it feels like a reasonable version of a modern, younger Watson. He feels real in a way. I do like the fact that even in the first episode, it's established that John and Sherlock can make each other laugh and smile just like in the books. I don't forgive them calling Sherlock a sociopath, however (speaking as someone with a brother that has been diagnosed with being a high-fuctioning sociopath). He's AuDHD to the max and deserves recognition in that department.
All of this to say, I can trace my current Sherlock hyperfixation back to Mega Man. Finding Mega Man in 4th grade led to watching the Ace Attorney anime in late 2021 which led to playing The Great Ace Attorney and that led to listening to Sherlock Holmes. I don't know why I decided to make this post but maybe I might start live blogging this shit? All in all, this is going to be a wild ride.

Wanted to try my hand at designing some slightly older duck kiddos!!! Headcanons and insane ramblings under the cut:
I designed these to be around 14-15, so early high school age (y'know in a hypothetical scenario where they actually end up going to high school). I imagine they still adventure with Scrooge and the fam, just moreso on the weekends (cut to Huey on the floor of the Sunchaser frantically trying to finish his biology homework while they're being shot at by sky pirates). Donald and Della are also both a part of the school PTA. Nobody else in the PTA is happy about this. Now for individual headcanons:
Huey:
Straight A student that's kinda neurotic about his grades, will freak out if any of them drop to a B.
I like to think of his hat as his comfort item so he still has the same one and if it was up to me he would also wear it to adulthood. even if a grown ass man in a lil baseball cap looks silly.
He's sooo mad about Dewey being taller than him lol.
Dewey:
Solid B student with the occasional C.
Couldn't join the drama club and the basketball team at the same time so he chose the drama club (the actual reason is that he tried out for the basketball team and didn't make it but he won't admit that). He still likes to carry around a basketball and practice on the court by himself.
Grows cheek fluff like the others he just cuts his off out of insecurity.
He's the tallest.
Louie:
Has pretty shitty grades, not because he's not smart, but because he doesn't really try (I mean, kid already has it made, why bother?).
Still wears the same green hoodie every day like he did as a kid but this time it's a little bit bigger and baggier. Does he wear the same clothes underneath too???? We will never know.
He's the shortest.
Webby:
Also a straight A student like Huey but seemingly puts in way less effort than him (which bothers Huey greatly).
Has to carry all her supplies in her arms because she's not allowed to bring a bag to school anymore (she kept trying to bring weapons in. Not because she planned on using them, but because you can never be too prepared.)
In at least 5 different clubs, probably started like 3 of them.

Ember in Your Hands
Jake Sully x Neytiri x Fem!Reader

a/n: sorry for not updating in like forever omg. i hope you all enjoy!!
warnings: swearing, tell me if i missed anything!!
Chapter Fourteen - Sunchaser
—-
Growing up with the forest as your mother meant that the transition from human to Na’vi was easier. It was still hard, it was still like being the strongest tree in the forest and then being uprooted by a violent wind, but there was a soft caress to it. You landed a little softer.
Jake had motivation. You know that sometimes he wakes up and reminds himself that his legs work, and even after all these years, there’s the brightest smile on his face. He wanted that change more than anything, but he hadn’t grown up on Pandora. The forest wasn’t his mother.
He hadn’t grown up with the Na’vi, he had to learn their ways while you already had a head start and a helping hand in Neytiri.
Jake overcompensated when he became Olo’eyktan.
He always ran a little faster, hunted with a bit more arrogance and ambition, always caught the biggest kill. And didn’t come back until he did, until he felt like he had proved himself for that day.
Here, in the sea and in the midst of all the newness, it’s no different.
It’s a change, just like all those years ago, but this time it’s all three of you. There’s no helping hands, no memories or prior knowledge. The three of you were thrown into a cage, but it’s dark, and you can’t find each other.
Neytiri calls him a sunchaser. He chases what can never be caught. He chases perfection.
So, as you watch him laugh with Tonowari as the taller man tells some hunting tale, you watch the way he sits a little taller, wait a moment longer before speaking, like he’s thinking everything over in his mind before he finally decides to say it.
There’s a certain caution to him. He says that you’ve changed, that you don’t move like you used to, and he’s been chasing the sun too long, staring at it, he can’t see himself doing the same.
The small group of men hadn’t noticed you, partly because you kept you head down passing them and partly because Jake hadn’t looked over.
You don’t blame him, particularly. You need to cement yourselves here, blend into Awa’atlu, become indispensable. Because, one day, the three of you know that Quaritch coming back is a possibility. And you will need to fight, and you will need to have people on your side.
Ronal asked you to gather a basket of plants, near the rocks Tonowari, Jake, and a few other men have settled on to sharpen their spears for the hunt. Lo’ak rambles about the big hunt in a few days, and the large festival that follows. A celebration, and you think that your family could certainly use something good like that.
The snap of the roots breaking as you tear them from the ground brings you back to reality, and you huff to yourself, realizing that your basket isn’t even half full.
Jake’s voice carries throughout this small space.
“Yeah, yeah, I, uh, I remember once when our kids were real little- Y/N took Lo’ak out into the forest with her and the first thing that boy did was find a poisonous plant and try and shove it in his mouth.”
More laughter. And you can’t help but smile at the memory. At the fact that he remembered.
“She- she came home, and Lo’ak had these tears all over his face, and she looked like she had just seen a ghost. I asked her what’s wrong, and she… she just started laughing. And then I started laughing, and Lo’ak just started laughing too.”
You could imagine him shaking his head as the other men continued to laugh, mumbling about the heart attack Lo’ak must have given you, and all you could think about was the way Jake talked about it.
He talked about that happy family memory like it would never happen again.
—-
You admit, that the force which you practically threw the basket onto the table with was unnecessary, but you were just so consumed with this fire. You had been burning out for the past few days, nothing but an ember, but he made you mad- and now you’re fire again.
The wistfulness in his voice, the complacency, that is what haunted you. Had he truly given up on any chance of happiness? The safety of your children had taken priority, and all of you had been bitter and pulling apart- but you still thought that maybe it could change. So deeply, you wanted it to change, and you didn’t realize how badly you wanted it until it was ripped away from you.
Ronal raised a questioning eyebrow to you, sitting on the floor with a hand over her stomach and a small fire in front of her. She looks you up and down, her eyes like a fire that makes you shrink.
And it all comes rushing back, the way he said those words, your love for him, and you were an ember in your hands again.
You could feel your shoulders sag, and some sad look find it’s way onto your face, and Ronal frowned. She stirred whatever was floating in the pot above the fire.
“Neytiri is with Wilaye watching over the children.” She looks to the basket overfilling with bright green. “Give me a handful, please?”
Some part of you wants to rage against the whole world but you just hand her what she asked for. You find that you don’t have enough fire in you, not right now.
Her hands brushes yours, and you realize how long it’s been since you’ve even held hands with someone who wasn’t your children.
“I’m sorry,” you murmur, picking up the one small plant that fell in your initial cruelty.
“It’s alright,” she hums. “Just do not bring it around patients, or the children.”
“Oh, Great Mother, I wouldn’t—” and you just find yourself trailing off. “I wouldn’t,” you repeat, and she looks you up and down once before turning to deposit the handful into the pot.
This is your life now, helping care for the children of the clan, helping with anyone who comes into the healers tent. With time, Ronal has grown to be a little kinder. Like calls to like, and you can see that she was just acting out of fear for her people. Her family. You can’t blame her for that.
But, the way that he spoke about it-
“You are clearly still angry,” Ronal hums. “Tell me. Release it, so the children don’t become restless like you.”
“I can’t push that all on you—”
“I am Tsahìk.” Is all she says, so you swallow and hope she doesn’t hear it.
“My mates and I- this transition has just been tough.” She doesn’t turn, and you’re grateful, finding yourself staring at the ends of her curls. “And we have been suffering for it. Neytiri curls in on herself, Jake tells me that he wants the old me back—”
Ronal lets out a very small snort that has your eyes widening. She stiffens for a moment.
“I’m sorry, it’s just… Jakesully is a moron.”
And you find yourself laughing, and then she lets out a small laugh too.
“Your- your entire lives have been changed,” she says after the two of you have stopped laughing. “Of course you will change with it. If he does not realize that, then it is his fault.”
“I know,” you murmur. “It just- it feels like he has given up already.”
Ronal sets the hangar aside, standing. The soup for the children’s lunch must be ready. She looks at you over her shoulder for a moment.
“Do not let him, then.”
And you decide that you won’t.
—-
After all of the children have been served, and Neytiri has gone off to the other side of the room- Ronal turns towards you again. It feels like something tentative has fallen over the two of you, some sort of shaky friendship. Like calls to like.
And the two of you are like- just two woman who are trying to hold the world together. Maybe you can help each other with some of the burden.
“You have heard of the festival, yes?” you nod, spooning your own spoonful of soup into your mouth. She inhales. “I would do it then. Remind him, Y/N, and Neytiri, that you are their mate.”
It takes her another second to say what she says, but it only makes it all more meaningful.
“You are- a very kind woman, Y/N. And perhaps I have been brash.”
You turn to her with a small smile, and she just barely returns it.
A friendship, you decide, and maybe the transition to Awa’atlu is similar like the one all those years ago. You have a helping hand, now.

DT17 Anniversary Posting
So I've heard around the cafeteria that there's a theme for today centered around people's favorite episodes. Well, I don't have [a] favorite episode. But I can narrow it down to 1 per season, so let's go with that.
(P.S. if you were tagged in this post it's because I gave you cool people a shoutout at the end.)
S1: The Last Crash of the Sunchaser!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When I first watched this show, this episode was the one where I realized things were serious. This wasn't just a funny duck show. It's definitely still funny and a duck show, but it's so much more than that.
On Disney+, this episode comes right after Lena is possessed by Magica, so my mind was 100% on that heading in. Instead, we got the resolution to Dewey's arc and the mystery of Della Duck... or so we thought!
Sure, we found out Della's fate, but that was almost secondary to the family drama, especially between Dewey and Scrooge. It's very intense, and even when we get the answers we're looking for, the questions all change.
I don't need to explain why this episode is good. It just is. The fact that I picked this episode, and not a Lena-centric one, shows how good it is.
S2: A Nightmare on Killmotor Hill!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright fine. One Lena episode.
After Lena was brought back in "Friendship Hates Magic!", the question was, where do we go from here? I think they handled it very well, integrating her back into the kids' friend group while still letting the effects of Magica's abuse linger on.
I really enjoy the idea of characters' dreams showing their deepest fears and desires. The kind of stuff they would otherwise stash away when they're awake. This episode took that concept and sprinted with it.
I still think we ought to have had more sleepover episodes with all of the kiddos. When everybody is fighting for screen time in Season 3, this episode shows how you can balance several characters at once, even if Lena was the one getting the majority of the attention. The "Swanstantine" episode is another good example of this.
I mean, come on. We got Webby dressing herself up as Scrooge McDuck as soon as she realized she could do whatever she wanted. It was foreshadowed from the beginning!
S3: Astro B.O.Y.D.!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've talked about this one before. It's one of my favorite pieces of autism rep. Boyd's journey in this episode really resonated, as well as his relationship with Huey.
In my opinion, the best part about it is how Huey relates to Boyd. Specifically not because he's a robot, but how Huey sees him as just a kid, just like him. The robot part is more of a neat quirk than anything. He's wired differently, literally, but they deserve a chance to be themselves.
And I appreciate how "Astro-B.O.Y.D!" gives Boyd a purpose as a character. I thought the bit in the Doofus episode where the villains try to pull the same con as Louie was fun, but Boyd didn't feel like much of a character, or at least no more of one than Sharkbomb was.
So "Astro-B.O.Y.D!" takes a character that very well could have had a one-off bit role, and made him something special. Made him somebody that a viewer can relate to, just as Huey did in the episode. Even just for 22 minutes, Boyd felt special. I felt special. I felt seen.
So yeah, that's my three. The fact that I can sit here and ramble about a half-decade old show that ended before I found it, is really cool. I'm so glad to have the chance to hang out with everybody here, whether we're discussing the best show in the history of time or doing literally anything else.
Shoutout to the people rallying the troops for today's anniversary... @secret-tester @justaboot @alexcanine @boingodigitalart @yeyeducks @cookieruby @the-richest-duck ... and to everyone else who's participated not just today but any day. We wouldn't be a community without the fine folks in it.

Meet the Leaders - HollowClan - Oddstar
Tumblr media
🌾 Basic Info
Name: Oddstar Former names: Oddkit, Oddpaw, Oddpurr Name meaning: Odd ↠ Born a day after his brother Purr ↠ For his sweet nature Clan: HollowClan Age: 61 Moons Gender: Tom ⤷ AFAB, He/Him
🌾 Personality
Basic description: Oddstar is cheerful and friendly, he could talk about anything to anyone. From time to time he tends to fixate on a specific topic and nothing or anyone can stop him from rambling about it. The only place Oddstar doesn't seem so enthusiastic to talk to, is during Gatherings, bureaucratic talks bore him and he'd rather do anything else other than sit still and listen to an endless stream of reports. Still, Oddstar does his job diligently, trying his best to guide Hollowclan and aid his neighbors, when in need.
Oddstar can be spotted, rarely nowadays, at the top of Twolet Tower, watching the sunset sky, tinted with shades of blue and purple, looking at the Clans' territories. That's one of the only places where he sits stills, peacefully and quietly enjoying the evening breeze and the passing of the day.
Traits + Friendly, Cheerful, Compassionate, Clever, Amiable = Chatty, Carefree, Oblivious, Direct - Bull-headed, Annoying, Forgetful
Likes and dislikes + Rabbits, burrowing and tunneling, being covered in dirt and mud, peacefully standing guard at the top of Twoleg Tower, chatting with literally anyone, the smell of fresh cut grass, flowers in Newleaf - Hunting aboveground (unless it rains or it's dark), hot weather, official gatherings, climbing trees
🌾 Physical
Build: Tall and lean, but with strong shoulders Fur: Short and sleek chocolate brown fur Eyes: Brown Scars/physical disabilities: None Accessories: None Scent: Mud, fresh cut grass and flowers during Newleaf and Greenleaf Other notable traits: Protruding canines and big ears
🌾Intelligence: 8/10 🌾Strength: 7/10 🌾Hunting ⤷ Underground: 10/10 ⤷ Aboveground: 6/10 🌾Fighting: 6/10 🌾Running: 9/10 🌾Swimming: 5/10
🌾 Background
Anyone that knew Oddstar when he was a kitten, they knew that him and his brother Sunkit were inseparable. Sunkit was Fallenstar's litter's first-born and was named after their father, Sunflower. Oddkit, born with an entire day's difference from his brother, got his name due to the unusualness of his birth.
When they were kittens, Oddkit and his brother spent most of their days in the nursery with their father. Fallenstar being leader, was always too busy and didn't have much time to dedicate to her children. That was what their father always told them, anyway. Oddstar never resented his mother, she was someone he loved and knew loved him back, but she was a stranger to him. His brother on the other hand, barely got along with her and it worsened after their father's death in the middle of their apprenticeship. After that Oddpaw and Sunpaw only had each other and spent most of their apprenticeship days exploring, going on so-called adventures and making trouble. Whenever something happened it was always the two of them and every cat in HollowClan assumed that Sunpaw dragged his little brother into every and any kind of dangerous situation, mostly because he had a stronger, bolder and more adventurous personality. But contrary to popular belief, Oddpaw was just as mischievious as his older brother. No one ever forced him to do anything, and sure, he followed his brother's initiatives, but most of the times the ideas sparked from him and Sunpaw just took the lead.
The two brothers always knew that one of them would end being leader eventually, but they never spoke about it until they received their warrior names. As per HollowClan's customs, the newly named warrior and tunnler made their way to the top of Twoleg Tower to stand guard. There, as the sinking sun painted the sky red, Oddstar admitted to his brother to not wanting to become leader. Sunchaser and Oddpurr made a promise.
"You'll be my deputy then, Oddpurr. And we'll look after HollowClan and keep it safe together."
Many moons later, during Sunchaser's travel to Starcave he lost his one and most precious life right before recieving The Ancestor's nine blessings.
Oddstar still keeps his promise.

I know your post is two years old, but how about for your Ducktales frozen au, violet takes over as Anna, mark instead becomes Hans, and BOYD is Olaf? I guess you haven’t thought of it for over three years, but I just wanted to put that out there.
Wow, you've gone digging through the tags, haven't you XD I really haven't thought about this idea in a long time and now the gears are turning again! BOYD and Olaf definitely have similar vibes. He's kind of a cross between Olaf and Marshmallow, really, what with the whole laser eyes deadly supervillain thing along with being the bright-eyed new creation. Though it's not Lena who made him, and I'm certainly not ready to write Mark Beaks in any kind of positive light. Mark as Hans and Violet as Anna are interesting thoughts. (Did I have this idea before Violet was canonically Lena's sister? I can't remember. Probably. I know I started writing And You'll Have a Place In It before we knew about Violet.) Interestingly though the more I toss these two around in my head, the more I think of reasons why I wouldn't put them in those roles in a Frozen AU, though. Violet is the sister, but that's the only part of Anna's role she fits. Like I can't imagine Violet doing most of what Anna does. She's much more thoughtful and deliberate. (Also, god, would this mean I have to kill off the Sabredads?? I don't have the heart!) What's interesting about Mark Beaks is that like Hans I really do think that he sees himself as the hero of the story even though he's fully aware that he's a dick. Despite this I am incredibly leery of putting him in any kind of romantic context or even friendship context with any of the girls. Or with anyone for that matter. It's just not my thing XD He'd make a fun Wesselton. Maybe he and Glomgold could both be Wesseltons.
There's a story where this all works out and makes sense but I'm not sure it would look anything like Frozen anymore. The magical thing about writing Sunchaser Grill was how bizarrely well the DuckTales cast fit the character types and roles of Spitfire Grill. Like until the moment things got sci fi, it all fit together to a T. Admittedly I did put in a gay romance where there was no gay romance, but I don't think that actually changed things THAT much (you'll never be able to convince me that Percy is interested in Joe, and even if Joe WAS interested in Percy, he's her PAROLE OFFICER and should not be asking her to marry him, what the heck, and the musical literally ends with the two girls opening up shop together I mean really)
Anyway, thanks for poking me about this and giving me a reason to fun ramble. It's been a long time since I did any duck fics. I should get back to that. I still have ideas.

What class is the USS Klondike
That is a very good eye-opener of a question actually!
The easy/default answer is that she's a Galaxy-class ship, mainly because I haven't actually considered this question in depth before, but I guess so far that's just what I've assumed since Captain Scrooge is a parallel to Captain Picard and so many other things are TNG/DS9-era parallels for this AU, that it makes sense for the Klondike to be based on the Enterprise-D.
Tbh, that'll probably remain the case, since I don't have any immediate plans to go designing a new class or ship at the moment (though I mean, I am a huge fan of starships and spacecraft in all areas of life, so this could change in the future). And looking through the classes on Memory Alpha, none particularly jump out as a better fit (although that Luna-class is tempting...).
But let's delve a little deeper, shall we, into why the Galaxy-class is a good fit, if not as the sure-fire class then at least as a starting point for my own design.
(more under the cut)
Firstly, it's an exploration-type vessel. A must-have quality for any ship under McDuck's command. (It's gotta be able to take them to the stars.)
Second, it's a big ship. A huge, powerful ship. And besides the fact that I love big spaceships and them having a lot of rooms and all the complements and amenities you could think of (I was the type of kid who loved designing 100-story buildings with rock gyms and decked-out kitchens and super-cool basements with swimming pools and the like, and I've played The Sims all my life, you get the picture), it fits Scrooge. One, he's got the huge family, so they need the room. (And the Klondike is pretty much gonna be Duckburg in Space, so you need the room for all those underpaid employees officers, their families, citizens, sworn enemies, etc.) Second, he's the richest duck in the Federation world, but there's no need for money in said Federation (Scrooge: "The horrors!"), so I think the wealth and power and size of McDuck Manor/McDuck Industries/the Money Bin would translate nicely into a big ship for this AU. (Though back home on Earth, would he still have McDuck Manor from earlier times, if we let his immortality play out? He'd definitely still have Castle McDuck, and that little ol' cabin up in White Agony, where a certain glittering archaeologist likes to hide out between adventures, but I digress...)
(Wait totally unrelated thought but if Goldie is Vash and Magica is Q then that means after this AU's version of "Qpid" Goldie would go off with Magica to explore the galaxy through magical means, and then when Goldie comes back to station DS87 in "Q-Less", she could take over Quark's bar from there, and then the Klondike comes to port later and she and Louie team up for the bar and oh hO HO! IT WORKS!!)
*ahem* Anywho...
The Galaxy-class is a good fit for the Klondike. It's got a lot of room for all those kids running around, a well-placed engine room where the chief engineer can keep his distance from all the crazy family problems when he wants yet still be a part of things and take care of everybody in his own way, a lot of shuttles for adventuring and experimenting, and a lot of gyms and holodecks for (very-much-secret-spy-)training and unwinding (you just know that Scrooge has a holo-program of the Money Bin so he can swim around in it still).
(I just had another thought and that is, who would be the ship's CMO? And my quick answer to that was Ludwig von Drake, and since I can't remember anyone else who would be fitting, it's his sickbay now. And with Gyro as the science officer, there are two options for filling in the rest of the medical staff: 1) make a bunch of Li'l Bulbs to be nurses; 2) make a holographic program of von Drake (which we've basically seen) and have multiple copies of him running around sickbay, specializing in different things (holo-von Drake vs. the EMH doctor GO!) (I guarantee you no one on the Klondike will get hurt if they can help it - Ludwig will tell you all about his multiple degrees, and he'll do it all at once while patching up your leg when you came in for a plasma burn on your arm, and you end up staying longer for him to treat your new headache (which are rare occurrences in the world of Star Trek)); secret option 3) combine options 1 and 2, and add in Manny, who moonlights in sickbay and ends up with the reputation of "best bedside manner" even though one of the Li'l Bulbs has to do most of his handiwork for him.)
Sorry this post is turning into a lot of random AU headcanons and ramblings, but it is what it is. :) Long story short, the answer is Galaxy-class.
But if I were to design my own class? I'd start with the Galaxy and probably muscle her up a bunch in size and amenities. (Oooooh yet another random thought but if it was somehow hurricane-sized (or, y'know, compared to such a size) bc lyrics, and I called it the Hurricane-class! XD) There'd probably be a lot of personal duck universe touches added, with a hint of the Spear of Selene embedded into the hull's design (3 nacelles for the Spear's 3 legs? maybe), and as for a name, the Sunchaser-class did just cross my mind, but the one that's been with me all this post?
Aurum-class. ✨ Setting the gold standard for all of Starfleet. ;)

I'm super excited to finish this next lil vaati thing and like, I'm so sorry guys, it's just gonna be Vaati spam for a bit. Maybe other things mixed in.

Home is Wherever I’m With You [HDLW Sibling Week]
Day 1 - Adventure
Ao3
“You guys are gonna love this one!” Webby crowed, her face pressed against the glass of the plane window. “Della and I have crafted the perfect adventure. It’s full of traps, puzzles, and opportunities for daring stunts!”
“So what’s in store for us today?” Dewey called from the pilot seat. It was his first adventure as a solo pilot, even though he’d been taking lessons from Launchpad and Della for months. “Death-defying stunts? Villanous curses? Bad baddies?”
Webby grinned back at him enthusiastically. “We might see a sword horse!!”
Huey flipped through his Junior Woodchuck Guidebook. “Statistically, the chances of us encountering a unicorn are little to none. From our travels, unicorns mostly reside in glades deep in forests. We’re flying over the tundra.”
Dewey pulled a hand off one of the Sunchaser’s contraptions to gently punch Huey in the shoulder. “Look at you, calculating the likelihood of a unicorn spotting. Nerd.”
Huey rolled his eyes and shut the guidebook. He leaned back in the copilot’s seat, where he was keeping a careful watch that everything was running smoothly - just like Donald when Dewey piloted solo during full-family adventures. “The numbers don’t lie.”
“But did you take snow sword-horses into account?” Webby asked, finally turning her attention away from their descent to look at Huey. “They’re incredibly rare, but they live solo lives out here in the tundra. They canter at the speed of the wind!! Some brave adventurers report sighting one, but no one can ever get proof.”
“Sounds like a glorified Bigfoot,” Louie offered from his place in one of the Sunchaser’s seats.
“But we can fight it!!” Webby interjected enthusiastically. “And earn its trust!! They say if you do, it’ll grant you one piece of sage advice for your future.”
Dewey frowned thoughtfully. “Well, not many people can say they’ve been granted advice from a snow unicorn. Anyway, coming in hot!!”
The Sunchaser made a less-than-graceful landing (Launchpad was his teacher, all right), sending snow flying up in clouds of soft sparkles around them. The four kids grabbed their gear and buckled up the last of their snow-protective clothes before stepping out of the plane and onto the snow. Webby was first, and her eyes sparkled with excitement as she took in the terrain for a moment.
“Isn’t it beautiful?” Webby exclaimed, gesturing to the expanse of snow sparkling brightly in the sunlight. “And to think! Today, we’ll be one of the first to see and conquer a real snow sword-horse!!”
Louie slipped a canteen out of his pack and took a sip of some hot chocolate he had saved. “Yep, looks pretty snow-y.”
Dewey punched a fist in the air. “I’m ready to fight a unicorn!!”
Huey snorted affectionately and pulled out his rusty, trusty compass, emblazoned with the Junior Woodchuck logo on the side. “We go north first, right Webby?”
Webby opened her backpack and took out a slightly torn map, tied with a piece of glittery pink string. She was nodding before she’d even unfurled the map, but it confirmed her answer. “Yep!! We go left until we hit the rock shaped auspiciously like a tornado, and then we turn right. And then, when we get to the lone pine tree hidden behind the stone hills, we walk in a circle three times around it and follow the sun!”
Huey frowned. “A rock shaped like a tornado? That’s an… interesting description.”
Louie raised his head to the sky and covered his forehead with his hand to block out the blindingly bright light, reflecting off the snow and clouds. “Uhh, Webs, we can’t see the sun.”
Webby shrugged, positive as ever. “No worries! All the legends say that won’t be an obstacle. We’ll figure it out when we get there!!”
Without further ado, the pink-adorned duck strode off in the direction of their adventure. “Let’s go!!”
Dewey followed quickly behind her, rambling excitedly about how fun it would be to fight a unicorn. Huey and Louie exchanged a glance and a shrug, and then tagged along.
As they walked, Huey tried to start off a round of some of the hiking songs he had picked up at the Junior Woodchucks, but was quickly rebuffed. However, when Dewey tried to start a rendition of “1,000 Bottles of Apple Juice on the Wall” (the Uncle Donald-approved version he regretted teaching Dewey when they were on a road trip when the boys were five years old), Webby and Louie were suddenly much more enthusiastic about Huey’s options. He was more than happy to oblige, and even got them going on some sea shanties when the tunes started getting overly repetitive. Dewey grumbled for a bit, but before long, Huey and Webby’s collective, contagious enthusiasm had infected him, and he was singing along as loudly and proudly as the rest of them.
When the tornado-shaped rock first came into sight, the group of four was lagging behind Huey’s precisely-calculated pace for the best optimal productivity on adventures. But the sight spurred Webby’s already-high excitement, and she nearly sprinted the rest of the way.
When the rest of the group reached Tornado Rock, panting, Webby was leaning against it with barely contained enthusiasm. “Took you long enough,” she said cheekily, but with no malice and a beaming smile.
Louie shrugged and flopped down on the ground. “Ugh, Webs, why’d you have to run? There’s no time limit.”
Webby shrugged, still beaming. “The spirit of adventure!” She checked her watch and sat gently on the ground next to Louie. “So, lunchtime?”
Dewey plopped down beside her, and Huey followed suit. “I thought you’d never ask!!”
Louie rolled his eyes. “Yes, yes, we know, you were flying the plane, you didn’t get a chance to snack.”
Dewey ripped open his lunchbox and grabbed impatiently at the first thing he could - a sandwich. He opened the foil easily and stuffed it in his mouth. “I’m hungry, Louie!”
As his brothers squabbled in the background, Huey glanced up at the rock towering above them. “Huh, I guess it really is actually shaped like a tornado,” he conceded quietly as he unpacked his lunch. “Accurate description.”
Webby followed his gaze, tracing the grooves and cracks in the rock with her eyes. “Yeah. You know, Isabella Finch, Uncle Scrooge’s inspiration, was the one who named it!!”
Huey perked up. “Really? That’s interesting. I don’t think I remember an expedition to this specific tundra in her journals.”
Webby shrugged, smiling. “It was a group expedition with some other seasoned adventurers. George Mallardy, for one.”
“The guy that Uncle Scrooge sort of was responsible for his death?” Huey asked apprehensively, raising his eyebrows. “I’m not entirely sure I want to be following in his footsteps.”
“But they’re the only other people to accurately depict and record tundra sword-horses!!” Webby exclaimed, leaning forward. “Wouldn’t it be so cool if us, for our first solo adventure, were the ones to do it second?”
“I’d rather be first!!” Dewey called.
Huey shrugged. “I guess so. I am curious about snow unicorns. If there’s only one depiction of them, even if it is from Isabella Finch, how do we know it’s accurate?”
“I guess we’ll have to find out,” Webby replied, her eyes sparkling.
The kids packed up their lunch, making sure to leave no trace behind, and continued on their trek. Webby tracked their progress with a map, watching carefully for the hills of stone that would eventually rise out of the fog. Snow started to fall gently while they walked, and Dewey made it a game to see who could catch the most snowflakes on their tongue. Soon they were all running in uneven paths and laughing - or laughing as best they could with their tongues stuck out. By the time the first gray hints of the stone hills crested out of the clouds, Louie was winning staunchly, but Dewey refused to be beat. He nearly fell forward into a snowbank, but stubbornly kept going.
Their amicable chatter died down as the hills came close enough to touch - and Webby did touch, reaching out a purple-gloved hand to wipe away a few errant flakes of snow. The group paused, speechless at the sheer size and gentleness of the rolling hills.
Webby took in a deep breath, in and out, making a large cloud of breath in the cold air. “Snow sword-horses, Isabella Finch’s legacy, here we come.”
With Webby in the lead, the four ducks rounded the hills and finally made their way into the small clearing in the middle of the stone. And found…
“Nothing,” Webby said, her word hanging in the quiet air. Surprise and disappointment were etched across her face as she stared at the empty clearing.
Huey, ever the Dad Friend, snapped out of his stupor first and stepped forward to lay a hand on Webby’s shoulder. “Hey, it’s okay. Maybe we made a mistake.”
“Yeah, a mistake,” Louie echoed. “It was probably George Mallardy. He almost caused our uncle’s death. Can’t really trust that guy.”
“Maybe the sword horse is still around here somewhere,” Dewey added.
Webby pressed her beak tightly together. “Yeah, you’re right! Let’s keep looking.”
They scoured the clearing for any hidden passages. Huey analyzed the map carefully, looking for any possible errors or misleads. Dewey took it upon himself to rap each and every inch of the stone hills, looking for a secret passage. Louie walked in circles around the hills, looking for any other landmarks.
After an hour had passed of searching with no luck, the group reunited in the center of the clearing, where the pine tree would be.
“Any luck?” Huey asked grimly, already knowing in his gut what the answer would be.
Louie shook his head regretfully.
“No,” Dewey muttered, the disappointment clear on his face.
Webby rubbed her toe anxiously against the snowy ground. She opened her mouth, clearly unhappy, and then froze, surprise overtaking her features.
“Webby?” Louie asked cautiously, but she ignored him in favor of leaning down and brushing snow away from a certain spot on the ground. Her brothers stared, frozen, for a moment. But when a splash of dark green peeked out from the snow, Dewey instantly dropped down into a crouch to help her. Huey and Louie followed suit in realization, and in no time they had cleared a little patch of snow away, revealing a tiny pine tree sprout.
“Huh,” Dewey said, breaking the tentative silence that had lain between the four of them while they dug. “I did not expect this.”
“It’s only a baby,” Webby breathed.
Louie frowned. “That’s weird. Isabella Finch and George Mallardy probably came here like a century ago. How could the tree be only a sapling?”
“Maybe it got cut down and replanted,” Huey reasoned logically.
“Or maybe it’s like a phoenix,” Webby breathed, the corners of her beak turning up. “It’ll come back!
Dewey smiled. “It already is.”
Huey stood up, and held out a hand for his siblings. “We should get back to the plane. Maybe back at home we can do more research on magical pine trees and mystical tundras.”
Webby smiled softly and pushed herself to her feet, the last out of the four of them. “I’d like that.”
She unfurled the map again, and they trekked back to the plane, a little subdued but still energetic. Despite this branch of their adventure being mostly complete, their return seemed to go by in a blink. Soon they were boarding the plane and shedding their snow gear. Dewey settled into the pilot seat and, after a moderately smooth takeoff, they were in the air.
After about a half an hour of flipping through his Junior Woodchuck Guidebook, Huey slipped out of the copilot’s chair and made his way over to Louie and Webby. Louie was scrolling through something on his phone, and Webby was reading one of the books Scrooge had given her for her birthday. Darkwing Duck was playing idly on the Sunchaser’s tenuously supported TV in the background, but neither were paying attention to it.
“Look at this,” Huey announced, sliding into the seat next to Webby and holding out his book. It was open to one of the pages about plants and fauna. Huey tapped a small paragraph in the corner with his finger, and Louie and Webby leaned in to read.
“Longer-living plants, like redwoods, go through many stages in their lives, many of which last long periods of time,” Louie read aloud. He glanced at Huey. “That’s purposefully vague. I don’t think it relates to the pine tree.”
Huey’s eyes glinted, like they always did when he got excited about a research project. “Maybe it’s purposefully vague. Either way, it’s a good starting point for an investigation!”
He smiled. “We may uncover the mystery behind this pine tree and the unicorn just yet.”
Louie typed in a search on his phone. “Heck yeah we will. Ducks don’t back down, remember?”
Webby tucked a colorful bookmark in her book and set it on the chair beside her. “You’re right.” She pulled out her own phone and started to search too.
“This adventure is looking to be bigger than ever!!”
~
hi this is very messy n bad cause i wrote it in an hour but i also have a lot of other big projects goin on (i’m writing the script for an instaronpa!) but i don’t usually have the motivation/time to do events like these. i’m going to try to do a little bit each day, so the parts will be shorter than what i usually write, but hopefully there will be 7 of them!! what i did was i set a timer for 30 minutes and tried to do just that, but i was only halfway done so i kept going. idk if i’ll have the motivation to keep doing that though
anyway i think this is gonna be like a connected story btw. all the more pressure to finish it ahaha. i hc that in this story, they’re all a little older, like teenagers (hence why they’re on an adventure by themselves). there’s one comic where dewey really wants to learn how to fly, so i snatched that headcanon when i realized if they’re on their own, they need a pilot. i considered briefly having Launchpad fly them in and not go, but I like Dewey flying. The whole “Webby planning an adventure” shtick is a brief nod to a couple lines from my group chat fic, where Della inspires Webby to plan an adventure. Since that happens when they’re at their canon ages, this isn’t the adventure they’re talking about. it’s just my inspiration.
title is a lyric from Home by Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes. (two for two on using secular songs I sung at camp last year for fic titles haha)
see you tomorrow for the next installment of Home is Wherever I’m With You!

Got inspired by a discussion in Discord and wanted to put together some lists of my favorite festival skins/skincents/accents! Skins are up first, obviously. Please note that my personal bias and aesthetic factor into these, obviously, and there were lots of entries I wanted to feature but couldn’t since I stuck to one per flight.
Rambling commentary under the cut!
Glacial | Galli, Icebreaker’s 2014
Even though “dragon made of ice” is a pretty common thread for Icebreakers entries, I love that this one is a little creative and different. And better was that it came before what I would consider the Bean Renaissance, which was when people began to realize just how lovely snappers are and really appreciate them.
Moon Glitter | Houseteeth, Trickmurk 2018
The odds of me not featuring one of Des’s skins here were lower than the chances of WC scrolls staying cycled in for more than two days at a time. I love all their entries, and as their friend it’s been really neat to watch their skill and style develop over the last few years. I know exactly how much work they put into this one, just like they detail all their works, and even though Shadow aesthetic is a hard one for me to get into, this one just looks too damn stellar.
Crescendo Phantom | Cao, Mistral 2015
Oh this festival was tough. So much beautiful windy stuff to choose from! But I kept coming back to this one, it’s always felt like one of the more unique wind skins we’ve gotten. Yeah, I’m completely biased because y’all know my thing with windy swirls, but I also really dig anything that plays up the spooky side of Wind lore.
Seashore | Shrimp, Wavecrest 2014
Mmmm the handpainted waves and scales are just to die for on this one. I’m not that much of an artist but I know that painting realistic water is a bitch and a half. It’s also just a lovely combination of actual water and beach feeling with fishyness, and honestly that’s all my favorite things about Water together.
Are You Glade | Oxygene, Greenskeeper 2015
This is one of those skins that just thrills me with its creativity. The “landscape” works with the shape of the dragon itself, and it all looks realistic but also stylized at the same time. Plus it’s got a pun name, which is just double bonus points from me.
Freckled Dawn | Vulture, Brightshine 2013
Yep, it’s ya boy, the OG festival skin*. This pick is absolutely based in sentiment, since I owned a copy of this back in the day when I was an acolight. Every now and then I still regret selling my copy, but so it goes. There’s just something about the way the colors are balanced, along with the details, it almost seems like it’s a dragon that’s fading into the sky. I think this skin single-handedly made me fall in love with lady guardians.
Thunderborn | Grif, Thundercrack 2013
I’m not just picking all the vintage skins, I swear! And it’s not entirely because I have fond memories of it because I was able to flip a couple copies back in the Olden Times, which helped me get my Light Sprite and Sunchaser’s. It also just happens to be one of, in my opinion, the best executions of “dragon made of lightning.” She looks like she could be either alive, or shaped from energy entirely...or both?
Molten Duchess | Cockatrice, Flameforger’s 2016
Here’s another slightly biased one, since I’ve followed this artist’s work for a long time, before I was even on FR, and I was so happy they finally got a well-deserved win. Not only does it appeal to my aesthetic, but it even manages to mix in some scaley textures (for maximum Salamander flavor) along with really well painted lava. I can say from experience** that real life lava doesn’t look exactly like that, but trust me, no one wants to be remotely close to that kind of lava so the stylized version is infinitely better. And won’t kill you. Probably.
Almagest | Aralas, Starfall 2016
Fun fact, this was one of the first bogsnek skins ever made, and definitely the first bogsnog festival skin. I have such a soft spot for Aralas’s work, they pull off ‘shiny’ so well without it looking like plastic. Also, the way the female bog pose looks kind of like she’s staring off proudly into the distance is just a general space exploration mood, but is giving me feels about Oppy...
Embryon | Kryptographer, Riot of Rot 2014
Controversial opinion ahead: I don’t like a lot of the Plague skins that win every year. I’m not someone who’s particularly squicked by gore or anything, although I do have a strong dislike of the boil-y/pustule-y stuff. It just mostly feel like they suffer the most from being the same skins every year. I know that most of this is the staff refusing to first, acknowledge their own damn lore that they made; second, set some clear guidelines about what is and isn’t acceptable content; and third, accept that mild gore and disease/suffering isn’t remotely the darkest stuff you’ll find in a PG-13 setting.
Sorry I got a bit off track there. The point is though that I really get drawn to Riot skins that don’t just focus on nasty mutations. Sure, this dragon doesn’t look remotely healthy, but it’s done in a nicely subtle way. Also, just...damn I miss Kryptographer’s art.
Turquoise Veins | Decay, Rockbreaker’s 2013
I SOLD MY COPY OF THIS SKIN BACK IN THE DAY FOR LIKE 150KT AND I HAVE NEVER REGRETTED A DECISION MORE. Stupid thing is so rare nowadays, ugh. And especially now that I’ve got a whole American Southwest desert faction going on now. Y’all should know by now that I’m an absolute sucker for turquoise, especially the Good Shit like he’s made of. He’d make several thousand dollars’ worth of high-end Navajo jewelry, which is honestly the second best thing to do with a giant stone dragon. The first best thing to do is put it in my house so I can devour it with my eyes every day for the rest of my life.

🌼 🌸 for the STS asks!
🌼 pick an OC and put them on blast. Call out their flaws, complain about what makes them difficult to write, etc.
ANNA. Oh my god Anna is so hard to write. I'm not even sure why she's so hard to me to write, but she is. She's why editing Storms has gone so slowly because her perspective makes me want to hit my head on a wall. I love her, but she's frustrating.
Anyway, Anna, girlie, sweetie, you're an emotionally unavailable nitwit I stg. You get frustrated about your boyfriend (and is on that asexual spectrum and often touch averse you know that) seeming to take the relationship slower than you want and just a bit later you try to actively move on without addressing it at all when you two have an actually serious fight. You want a serious (and more physical) relationship but you DON'T want to communicate like an adult as would be needed for that.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAaaa. Like, she does know that she's not perfect in this relationship, but it's a just a goddamn mess. Also she does a poor job communicating what she actually wants to him, because she doesn't like to have serious relationship conversations.
🌸 who's your most morally questionable OCs (not including villains)?
Okay, this is actually funny to me, because I'm not really into morally questionable protags (with one Major Exception), but the vast majority of my villians are morally grey rather than a black and white thing.
But in so far as Morally Questionable Characters who are not and never were villains, starting with those in my main focus right now; the Shadowed Dreams setting:
Erica Mathews: Erica was born into a cult, and in adulthood she didn't really believe their doctrine at all, but she was too afraid to act at all to stop the harm they were causing, even as they were targeting the children of her dead friends, and friends of hers who had escaped said cult. She feels like she can't do anything because four of her closest friends, including her own twin brother were seemingly killed by the cult for even the barest of hints of doubt towards them. So she keeps her head down and does nothing.
James Hynes: James is a changeling, and nearly died as a kid for trying to buck the whole broken system of Changeling and Foundlings, because he never wanted to live on Earth to replace some human kid. And he was quite nearly killed for this. This trauma leads to him being extremely apprehensive about anyone else trying to change things around all of that, and that fear is used to manipulate him into turning on his friend Mitchell (though not actually naming him; just revealing there was a conspiracy at all), nearly messing up a careful plan he'd been setting up for years. But James isn't a villian. He's just terrified of an authoritarian system that tried to kill him once already, and didn't want to see his friend die for some (what he saw as) fruitless hope for a better future.
OUTSIDE of my main setting project I have more:
There's Sebastian Harrison, who's tag on my art blog I just linked because I've rambled about him already. He's closer to a villian, but that's not reeeeeeally the role he plays in the story. He's just as opposed to the actual villians as the heros, since they killed him.
In the same setting but a very different story as Seb is Killian Laflamme who exists under an authoritarian regime. He's just a kid, 14-15 through his original story. He's transmasc in a country that in very anti-queer (though not the same one as Seb. Killian is in Europe; Seb is an American) and toes the fucking line to avoid being outed and facing consequences. His older sibling who ran away years prior and has been working their ass off to protect Killian and is part of the resistance. The two end up on opposite sides of the conflict for basically no reason other than Killian being scared. But being scared drives this kid to do some real questionable shit.
Finally, there's one Miss Carsian Sunchaser, the One Major Exception I mentioned before. She's the main character of a four part series where each part follows a different character in a different time, and she's one some real well intentioned extremist shit. She starts out on a revenge quest against the nation that so badly hurt her people and is all kinds of morally dubious, but doesn't see herself that way at all. It slowly dawns on her that she's just perpetuating a cycle of violence and that revenge isn't going to fix anything, and that the whole damn power structure is broken and corrupt, and it need rebuilt from the ground up.

Brightshine Jubilee Apparel Rating
Some personal ramblings about Light fest (big) apparel, ranking from best to worst. In my own opinion.
Thundercrack Carnivale, Flameforger’s Festival, Starfall Celebration, Riot of Rot
Tumblr media
Hewn Philosopher's Veil is the first Light fest apparel I absolutely love. And it is also one of my all-time fest fave apparels too. I find it easy to mix with other apparel and it gives any dragon mysterious look. I hope we will see more Light apparel with this colour scheme.
Tumblr media
I do like Solar Blades, and I would like them more if they weren’t just copy-paste apparel. It tends to either really fit some breeds, and with others, you just wish it had been angled to fit the wings better. Cool idea, but came off as lazy.
Tumblr media
I don’t like Luminous Sundrapes, but I don’t hate it either. I don’t really have anything to say about it.
Tumblr media
I don’t really care about any of the leg-piece fest apparel and Luminous Legguards are no different. But at least they don’t look as awkward as some of the other festival apparel.
Tumblr media
Sunchaser Jewelry is a really big hit and miss for me. I can forgive it looking clunky since it is very old apparel. But to me, it looks confusing, what is it exactly supposed to be? The headpiece is nice, but the necklace and wristlet are rather ugly. Are those pearls or balls of light? I’ve no idea.
Tumblr media
Sunguard Chest itself is a neat design but it looks very awkward on most breeds. The way it is angled is just so frustrating and impossible looking. And it is very apparent on the image above. It gives you the feeling it was only drawn once or twice and then just copy pasted on everything and only lightly tweaked.

Sylv! I wanted to ask you what your YGO AU shenanigans was about!! You know I love my AUs 👀
Hi Moldy!! I have several AU shenanigans mulling about, mostly my World of Warcraft x YGO atm! I actually just finishes the last sketch of the 30+ character designs I've made which I'll attach right under here;
Tumblr media
(Yes I made Dartz a blue dragon and the fact that is the best dragon I have ever drawn also helps)
Basically in this AU Atem and the rest of the Ancient Egyptian cast were night elves and Zorc is an Old God. Also the Thief King and Atem aren't enemies in this one!
The Millennium Items are "ancient titan forged Artifacts" that Zorc partially corrupted with void energies but also kinda sorta wasn't able to fully corrupt? He led Akhenaten to them in the first place.
Atem and Bakura stood against Zorc together when he attacked Atem's small province that was to the north of Zin-Azshari, the night elf capitol. He timed this to coincide with the War of the Ancients (when the Burning Legion invaded the planet for the first time) so Atem's province couldn't get any help. Atem and Bakura, side by side at a river's edge, banished Zorc and chained him in both time and space but sacrificed themselves in doing so. Sadly, Atem's city did not exactly survive. Its inhabitants are echoes now, ghosts of the past as it is sequestered away and shielded by magic. Mana, Mahad, and Kisara (a blue dragon too!) roam the city as spirits that still remember what happened.
There is so much more to this AU but it can be pretty confusing without the base knowledge of WoW's lore! Also most of the characters are elves because I like elves and mostly play as them.
I hope you enjoy this read and if you want more please let me know! I'm typing this on my phone and whatnot. Maybe one day I can actually write this out into a fic because I'm that obsessed with it.

Okay so, every one of my inktober drawings has gotten far more attention than I ever thought they would and I'm on the verge of tears just from sheer happiness.
I expect my work to go unnoticed and for my posts to just be me screaming into the void but like, people enjoy my art??? And it's not even my good stuff that I haven't posted yet, it's my crappy rushed inktober pieces?
Thank you all so much. It really means a lot to me.
