All the 'Bamf Marinette' stuff in Marinette Sugar feels like it's missing the point out as to WHY Marinette deserves better.She's like the least power hungry person in the whole show,she dosen't need to become a god or something,she needs to be allowed to be just an ordinary teen superhero doing silly shenanigans instead of having trauma after trauma thrown at her and to be allowed to love Luka-JUST Luka,not a lowkey racist harem where she's infantalized for her wasian heritage-and for her and Alya and most of her classmates to have normal,HEALTHY friendships and last but certainly not least to absolutely demolish Adrien,Chloe,Felix and Lila for abusing her.That's literally it,y'all wildin' with this M*ribat shit and she wants nothing to do with it-Source:I actually understand her character instead of seeing her as Y/n

That 'I was better for her but the hero has to get the girl' post of Luka,Warren and Zuko is so disgusting to have THAT many notes in 2024 and not even just because Marinette and Layla have actual reasons to be into their boys while Katara's dynamic with Zuko was a lesson to young girls of color about not coddling their oppressors but also because the caption just by itself is dripping with misogyny.No male character is entitled to the affection of female ones because they're lovable rogues or whatever,if a girl wants to date her male best friend then she fucking can and she's real for it-Y'all took the 'nice guy complex' term too literally,it's not when girls like guys who're nice you cuntheads

Luka doesn't sing due to being insecure about voice

Marinette is a little insecure when she first meets Luka because after the whole heartsong thing she's worried he'll Know

Marinette does voice therapy; she can't do too much else because she's 14 still and legal stuff :(

Luka has been on puberty blockers for a while (read: since he could) but is looking forward to Other Things

they don't find out each other until sometime between Captain Hardrock and Frozer

"I do not understand why you would want to be [gender] but you know what Same" and then they complain about French laws being difficult

Luka only figured out a couple years ago, Marinette has known for a really long time and her parents have helped her legally change her name

Luka is his birth name. That doesn't matter to him as much as being gendered Right.

their relationship kind of...builds naturally? as far as they know, they're the only trans people they know (until Marinette befriends Marc) so they understand each other in a way that cis people couldn't even if they are opposites

they're also bi4bi and occasionally discuss people they both think are attractive in a more passing way while like. Avoiding the topic of their feelings for each other

Luka says "Ladybug" one day and Marinette is a little flustered by that

but they probably get together around the same time as canon

Luka gets to start on hormones and stuff before Marinette, being older than she is

they comfort each other with gender affirming things, Marinette is "ma fille" (my girl) and Luka is "mon amour" (my love) [this works because French is gendered]

Luka tries to punch out a transphobe and defend Marinette but ends up hurt worse while Marinette can deck them easily, being trained in self-defense

(ensuing hurt/comfort taking care of injuries ensues)

they get to transition step by step together and do research on what hrt will do to their s/o's body so they can support each other through the changes
